The 18 Best Sports Bars In SF

"As cramped as dive bars typically are, Final Final is the opposite. This Cow Hollow place right near the Presidio gates is big, with plenty of TVs and places to sit with fellow sports people and watch those TVs. There are also a couple of pool tables and darts, if you can juggle watching and playing sports. But if you can’t, there’s free popcorn to keep your hands occupied while your eyes are glued to the screen." - lani conway, julia chen 1

Sports Bars in San Francisco Are Drafting New Game Plans - Eater SF

"Arnold Prien bought Final Final in 1978, and it continues to be run by his family. The sports bar shut down operations due to the stay-in-place order but has received permission to team up with Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza to reopen for walk-up pizza orders and sealed beer and wine sales. They are considering outdoor seating and managing reduced capacity to ensure a decent number of patrons." - Shane Downing

I’ve been to this bar multiple times while visiting the area. I was there for the Super Bowl party this year and I had the time of my life. This is a great local bar, and there are NO words for how great it is! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Google
We was driving around trying to find a place to watch football before we head back home to San Diego as we first arrived we wasn't to sure how the atmosphere would be since we're not from San Francisco and that there were all white people inside and we was the only out ball at the moment but these people were really nice and welcoming we ordered drinks, had onion rings that wasn't frozen or caked up in batter, mozzarella sticks that also wasn't caked up in batter and had cheese melting out of it when you took a bite we also ordered hot wings l didn't get to try any of that but im pretty sure they was good as well we arrived around 11am and stayed until 1:30pm we will definitely be back if we're in San Francisco again thanks EVERYONE for the positive attitudes and being apart of our San Francisco experience.

Google
This is our new 🏈 bar, free 🍕 twenty plus on draft! Highly recommend the pilsner Drake, Hen House are tasty, polishing those with fernet was quite nice. Thank you Vincent and Josh!!!

I loved the ambiance of this sports bar. The service was excellent. Do not miss the wings. They are awesome. Ensure you have proof of Covid vaccination to be granted admission. 😉

Just some Ohioans enjoying San Francisco, found this place near the end of our trip and felt at home. Elliot was very friendly and just awesome! We didn’t have food, but the beer prices were Reasonable & he even offered us cucumber/mint water. Which was awesome! Thanks for sharing your story with us Elliot! We hope you make it where you want to be!

Great time!!! It was the last leg of a good 0l fashioned 5stop PUB CRAWL!!😁 in cow hallow. we were staying in the area at a hotel and decided to go impromptu on a Friday afternoon into the evening. All our stops were really good, butttt these guys were awesome!!! Great staff, great vibes, just the highlight of the day!!! I even bought a 👕 t-shirt for my wife!!!

Yelp
Best bar in San Francisco. Friendly staff, cold beer, more TV's than I can count. This bar feels like home. This bar is my home.

Yelp
A great neighborhood sports bar. Friendly people. Pool table, darts, many beers on tap. We didn't eat, but they do have complimentary popcorn if you want something light with your drink.

Yelp
Husker/BlueJay Bar in San Francisco with a great ambiance! Everyone here was super friendly and always made sure we had a drink in our hand and we didn't need anything else. The food was alright but decent for a bar.

Yelp
The last bar before the Golden Gate Bridge! Fun little dive bar with the nicest bar tenders - literally the opposite of Southern Pacific. I don't drink and they have NA Best Day IPA which turns out I looooove way more than Athletic NA beers. I had a few of their NA micheladas and they were just what I've been missing!
google avatar

Yelp
There are few things that I enjoy more than a dark local bar with multiple pool tables. Great spot with lots of TVs if you're a sports fan. They've got a lot of good beers on tap, two pool tables, and darts, as well as a Jukebox.

Yelp
A great little place to hop through and make some memories! If you are looking to stop in mid-day or any other time for a drink, step in here! Chances are high that you will not only like this place; but, perhaps make a great memory or two! The bar tenders are responsive and friendly, AND even willing to make you your favorite drink - even if it is not traditionally served or made there (simplicity is key). The restrooms here are clean and tidy - there are more than one to use. They have cellphone chargers openly available, and already plugged in for customers to use - plenty of them around. There are a couple pool tables and even a photo booth (able to fit a few faces in) where you can take that -faced photo mid-buzz, or after getting plastered. The only downside... hoping the bartender gets that special request drink down and made the way you like it. Lol! No lost stars for effort! Lastly, this place is in walking distance from a few popular places frequently visited while touring the city.

Yelp
Hello! I write review for bars in metropolitan areas. This bar's fantastic location on the edge of San Francisco's historic presidio national park, is a stop in-have a drink-chill and play pool typa place. Not too rowdy. Not too sleepy. Great array of TV's and dart boards. Bartenders are great! However, my ONE qualm is that there's no music.... You have to pay for music at the jukebox! I'll leave it at that. See photo for no music
google avatar

Yelp
Final Final.. what a great place to have some drinks in San Fran. The vibe, ambiance, quality of bartenders, are all 5 stars! Anytime I visit this area, I make every effort to pop in for a few drinks. I cannot say enough great things about this place. Do yourself the favor, and check it out!

Yelp
SUPER COOL little local bar near The Lyon Street Steps. We were on walking to a local coffee shops we found on Yelp and happened upon this place. It looked cool and inviting so we decided to stop in for a drink. We were greeted at the door with a very nice lady. My partner asked "how's the Bloody Mary?" and her response was "delicious! Ask (I hope I get his name correct) Oliver to make your Bloody Mary). A very friendly and attentive waitress took our order and came by frequently to check in. We did go with the Bloody Mary and a mimosa with cranberry juice. Both were very good. The place was full of locals who wanted to catch the Sunday Football games, car race, and other sporting events. There are LOTS of TVs throughout the bar. There are pool tables and dart boards. The best part... theres a PHOTO BOOTH! PARKING: There's lots of street parking and I don't recall seeing any meters. Overall, service was great, drinks were good, staff looked happy and like they were having fun.

Yelp
This bar became our way of breaking things up during Covid while the city was still in the process of reopening. We would stop by with our bikes and have drinks outside. While the outside take on our bar days are now behind us, the Final Final still remains a fun place to stop in since it's still on our bike route home through the park. The friendly staff and local feel are why we keep coming back. I wouldn't particularly call this place a dive, since it fits way more in line with the personality of a sports bar. They always have a wide variety of beers on draft and not one but TWO pool tables! They're cool with bringing the dog in too. Nice place to grab an old school drink.

Yelp
Great hole in the wall bar! Came here to grab some drinks and catch up with some friends. Staff was friendly and attentive. They were always quick to clean our table of any empty glasses. Perfect spot to watch games as they have several TVs. They also have a few pool tables to play some games and pass the time. Bar had a great selection of beers on tap and even had some jello shots. Perfect place to visit and catch up over some drinks!

Yelp
Came to this neighborhood bar after finishing grazing from the many good trucks during Off the Grid on a Friday. Final Final was chosen due to the fact that they had multiple screens - 12 to be exact! We were able to score seats at the bar to watch the Warriors beat the Spurs and turning around in my stool I had a great view of that game as well as the Women's Final Four which was a nail biter. I learned that the owners were alums of Nebraska and Iowa hence there were a number of patrons from Iowa cheering the team on. Being in the food business, I was able to see behind the bar area and it was kept organized and clean under the sink area and where the Taps were located. No fruit flies hovering around to shoo away from my beer or the stale beer odor when they don't properly clean behind the bar. They have a small menu such as hot dogs or Papa Murphy's pizza to choose from. I like this place as it is away from the Chestnut street crowd which would fill up quicker depending on the time of the day. They also have 2 pool tables and a dart board as well.

Yelp
Do not under any circumstances go to this pub. The bar men are ignorant, not experienced. They act like robots do not understand customer service. As a tourist in San Francisco it was by far the worst experience I have ever encountered.
google avatar

Brittany E.

Yelp
Oh what a cute/ fun hole in the wall bar!!! The bartenders Tim and Megan were so nice!! The security guy was hella chill. They have pool tables and darts the AMI jukebox and plenty of TVs to watch shit. Bloody Mary was on point!! AMF was a little on the meh side but it's hard to get a good one most places. If your looking for a hella chill dive bar this is your spot!! Thanks for the hospitality!!! Next time we are out in this area we will be sure to stop by!!

Jeannine L.

Yelp
Simply asked to put The Giants Game on one of the screens and the arrogant bartender put the game on the furthest screen in the bar! San Francisco team and 1 screen. Not the best sports bar in SF. Go to Shanghai Kelly's.

Caroli C.

Yelp
I've never experienced such disparaging treatment from a manager or even worker in my life. The manager Michael was incredibly rude towards my friends and I. He spoke to us as if we were such an inconvenience to him. I felt so belittled and unwelcome that I had to head out. Honestly, why not have any respect for your consumers that bring you business? I highly don't recommend this bar unless you're fine with horrible customer service.
google avatar

Kalin A.

Yelp
Place is the perfect sports bar! Super spacious with lots of activities if you are with anyone that doesn't like to watch sports. Come here to watch Nebraska football games. It is a Nebraska football spot, so during game days there are lots of fans rooting on the Huskers! The staff is so friendly and great. Can't wait to come back.

Crystal B.

Yelp
We were nervous about visiting San Fran because of the bars but Tim and Vincent are really nice guys! I was telling Tim we wished we had a bartender like him about 7 hours south! The pizza is actually really good too and tastes like a thinner Costco pizza if you like it like that! It's really a great spot!
google avatar

Jess B.

Yelp
Wow! From one CORNHUSKER to another this place is awesome! Find this place on Nebraska alumni website. This is a family orientated place, from the Mom being the door manager making sure minors don't come in, to dad cooking up food in the kitchen and the brothers making sure our drinks our strong. Need to have RUNZAS on the Menu!! C'MON!! I will definitely be back if I have another medical assignment here! Jess-Kearney, Nebraska

Yelp
Final Final has been our 2nd living room for years. Best staff, wide range of beers on tap, and always a few friendly folks around the bar to enjoy a game with. This is a family run place that's been a San Francisco staple for the last 40 years and I've been lucky to enjoy it for my last 5 since I moved here. TiDon't sleep on their pizza or ($2) Jell-O shots.
google avatar

Yelp
They foolishly asked me to sing for fireball whiskey so I'm excited. It's a wonderful venue, friendly and casual and they really do know your name (and your regular drink)!

Yelp
Phone times good snacks excellent drinks better service than most places. They have all the games

Yelp
I am so disappointed. This was one of my favorite bars in SF but the other day the workers were BEYOND rude to me and my friends (the old male bartender and the woman bussing tables). They screamed at us, mocked us, and were so so SO aggressive. We were just trying to celebrate / say our goodbyes to our friend moving to a new city. We are such a nice group of people trying to enjoy some food and drinks and the staff were sooo terrible we decided to leave (and never go back). I have never been treated the way they treated us. I truly am so disappointedly / horrified by their behavior. On top of that, the previous time I went there I purchased a shirt and they ended up not having my size. The young male bartender said he would remember me and I could come back another day to get the shirt. This time the old (asshole) bartender basically screamed at me for inquiring about the shirt, that HE would have never done that and he absolutely would NOT be giving out free shirts (they owe me a shirt). He made a mock of me as if I was trying to steal from them!! Ridiculous! That was only one of the ~5+ ridiculous rude aggressive out-of-line things he did. As we left the bar, I told my friend it sadly was no longer my favorite bar. He overheard me and started screaming/wailing at me like a baby. Absurd. I feel embarrassed for him. If you're going to go there, leave if you see the old bartender. He will ruin your day (the other staff are pleasant)

Yelp
Solid neighborhood sports bar. Even though it's not located on Chestnut Street, it's still very much a Marina bar. You'll find plenty of "bros" still trying to hold on to their college days, as well as attractive 20-something girls (who are pretending to like sports to impress the dudes). Final Final ain't fancy. Nor is it trying to be. They serve reasonably priced beer and hard liquor, and they have plenty of TV screens for watching what ever game happens to be playing. They also have pool tables in the back, and plenty of room and tables for boozin' and schmoozin'. There's no pretense here. What you see is what you get. This bar is a great way to start your evening (before heading elsewhere) or finish your night (once the house party keg has been tapped). Be warned, if you're over 35, you might be the oldest person in the room. But all in all, this is a cool spot and a Marina institution.

Yelp
A fun, divey, family owned, sports bar that has a long, long, long history in San Francisco. I was visiting SF for the week and my friend who lives down the street from here recommended this spot. What I loved about Final Final: + The wonderful, friendly bartender who poured generous amount of tequila to our big group of 8. Props to this bartender who put up with our loud, obnoxious group on a quiet Sunday. + The serve yourself popcorn machine in the back. I love when bars serve free-for-all snacks and this popcorn machine always seemed to be full. Plus the popcorn was tasty. + The juke box playing old school hip hop. 'Nuff said. If I lived in SF, I feel like I'd hang out here a lot. They have everything you want in a neighborhood bar: locals hanging out (which says a lot about a bar, in my opinion), friendly bartenders, good music, all the liqour you could want, and free popcorn. I would've loved to be here during the NBA finals.... just so I could be one of the only Raptors fans in the room to flaunt that championship ;) Also love that this has been a family-owned and operated bar for the past 40 years. These kind of busineses have my support. Cheers to another 40 years and more for you, Final Final!

Yelp
One year after my 2 star review......I'm upgrading Final Final to 5 stars. In life, sometimes you gotta give people a second chance. Yesterday after our second annual golf tourney, we decided to do just that - give Final Final another opportunity. And they came through. Great service, great attitudes, and very friendly. Will go back again.
google avatar

Monica B.

Yelp
Asshole central, don't come. The bartender got into an argument with my friend about basketball. He essentially said well if you have that opinion then you clearly don't know what you're talking about. A rude thing to say.. So she said dude you're an asshole. And suddenly he was super offended that he was called an asshole. He grabbed her beer, dumped it and said don't call your bartender an asshole. Wow everyone was so rude and defended him. I'd rather give business to decent human beings, thanks.
google avatar

Ross S.

Yelp
The Final Final is a total dive bar, but I really loved the atmosphere and the vibes going on. If you are looking for a good place to grab a beer with friends, watch the game, or play a game of pool, this is the bar for you. They even have their own Snapchat filter!! They have all the normal beers on draft, and have a wide selection of bar food, nothing too gourmet at all. But they also have a free popcorn machine. This is a fun place to check out!
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
We checked out this spot on a stormy Thursday night in December, and it was still pretty packed. Final Final is a fun, laid-back bar with a divey vibe, but keeps it classy. They had a pool table and plenty of stools/seating, and pulled a decent number of draft beers. The party I was with stuck to pitchers of 805, and I killed off the last couple of $2 Jello Shots they had available behind the bar. This was a great place to bring a group (we were about 10, and were among several other groups of 5+; everyone had plenty of elbow room), and while it's definitely a bar, it wasn't so loud that we had to scream at one another. The clientele is a decent number of twenty-something sports fans jocking around and watching games on the TVs. Pretty harmless all around. If you're in the area and are looking for a chill spot to grab a couple beers and chat with friends, this is a solid spot!
google avatar

Llecenia S.

Yelp
Found this awesome little covid safe bar on our way out of San Francisco. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. There's an outside seating patio area serving pizza and hotdogs. We even got popcorn for the kiddos to go...Seriously to die for!! We'll have to be back for the apple pie drinks--Thanks for staying open during this time and we totally recommend it!
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Finally, I've got some time to review the final, ultimate sports bar in the Marina/Cow Hollow district, a sleepy neighborhood dive called the Final Final. There isn't anything super remarkable about the place, but that's what makes it special. It's a sports bar complete with many TVs for viewing (what else?) sports, a long horseshoe bar, a couple pool tables and plenty of memorabilia on the walls. They aren't reinventing the wheel here. But you will feel at home in no time grabbing a seat next to some locals and catching a game or two. I know I did. They have a great beer selection and the friendly bartenders pour 'em stiff. It only took two gin and tonics for me to feel the midday buzz, and that was after I ate a huge slice of pizza. As far as sports bars go, The Final Final can rub shoulders with the best of them. But don't take my advice. See for yourself and have the final word.
google avatar

BC Q.

Yelp
This place is great! Especially since it's an unexpected pleasure in the middle of one of San Francisco's most posh neighborhoods. Down to Earth, great staff, friendly vibe, and interesting history all over the walls. They proudly display a couple seats from Candlestick Park as well as articles and photos from NorCals baseball past without being pretentious or unwelcoming about it all. It's a family owned and run neighborhood pub and you feel the dedication they have to being good local business people when you visit for a cocktail. I also have to point out that people like Emyli are the reason Yelp is such a sad and false predictor of quality. A spoiled, shitty, temper tantrum throwing asshole shouldn't have the ability to post and impact a business over something so trivial and pathetic. Hopefully she just stays home and cries to Daddy about not being treated like the princess he told her she was. That's how a punk ass behaves.

Yusef J.

Yelp
If you wanna get a good drink and play pool it's a nice place. I feel as though that can do better with the food scene but I don't think they have a full kitchen so it's finger foods from like the microwave oven. Overall very friendly staff and laid back patrons/customers.
google avatar

Jeanette R.

Yelp
Nice little divey-feeling sports bar! Lots of TVs and a great selection of beers and ciders. They do serve some basic bar food (pizza, fries). They host Monday night trivia at 8 with prizes (% off your bar tabs). Friendly bartenders, clean, one of my new favorite spots!

Nicole C.

Yelp
The old guy is an asshole. Getting straight to the point and not wasting your time. The pizza is worse than Red Baron. To top it off, the drinks are expensive. . Don't support this bar.
google avatar

Lucy G.

Yelp
Came for a drink and appetizers had a good time. Friendly atmosphere. Sports casual attire. Went in with a party of 6 and loved the beer selection there was the right one for all of our different taste buds.

Yelp
If you're a fan of great sports bars that have history screaming from the walls, The Final Final is your stop. Situated in an area of Cow Hollow/Marina that's not as easily accessible to the BROS, it always has a good crowd. I suppose it helps that I live two blocks from this bar too...it's my local watering hole. I'm a huge fan of places with free popcorn and the machine in the back of the bar is always full :) They have two pool tables, a few dart boards and tons of TV's. Note: the pool tables are usually shut down during big game days and the evenings for sake of space. I think more that anything it's important to have a local sports bar that is casual and easy. A place where you can wear your favorite jersey, head to after your co-ed softball league, etc. Family owned & operated. Ben approved.

Connor D.

Yelp
Family owned, fantastic neighborhood sport's bar. Great beer, good food, pool, darts. Feels like home, can't ask for more.
google avatar

Martin K.

Yelp
Bar, where you can drink during eating buffalo hot wings. I like crunchy wing and there hasn't been. That's why I enjoyed hot dog, it was delicious with nacho cheese. Also we ordered tortilla chips with cheese sauce. When you put all this stuff together, it is a feast. We drink it down with the beer. Definitely great night in San Francisco.

Molly C.

Yelp
Wonderful, inviting family-owned bar. Good prices for San Francisco, and cold beer. The menu is limited so if you don't want pizza or wings (who wouldn't though?!) eat before you visit. Perfect for Husker, Hawkeye and Vikings fans. I felt so at home here. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

B C.

Yelp
Let's get one thing straight, The Final Final is the best bar in San Francisco. Why you may ask? Lots of reasons, here are some of my top reasons: They have the best Irish Coffee in San Francisco. Don't even get me started on this one. They pour strong cocktails They are the friendliest, unless your a jerk, you probably deserve it. They have every meaningful sport playing on TV. The food comes out quick. You might run into a celebrity. Reasons to avoid Final Final: You hate fun. You prefer to piss away your money at lower class establishments. You like to be a prick to bartenders. Photobooths scare you. Too many sports TVs make you anxious.
google avatar

Lyn B.

Yelp
This bar is the shit!!!! BEST CHARGING STATION IN TOWN (cords provided, don't be a dick and try to take one either they're super glued) Aside from the charging station, my boyfriend and I are from San Diego (my first time in this beautiful city) and we were with his sister and her man who live here in SF..we were initially here to just plug in our phones + grab a quick drink and get back on the electric scooters so we can dip around town, but ended up staying much longer..which was most definitely worth it! The whole environment / vibe of the bar was super chill, fun and entertaining! Pool table and darts, ya really can't go wrong! On top of the dope ass activities with great company, bartenders were excellent (their playlist for music--and I like my music loud..was random but real good random) and just overall I felt like it was a family owned business where you really felt the love. I didn't catch any names but thank you all for all your hospitality and for an awesome time!!! Bad reviews should be irrelevant, experience things and places for yourself but if you have something to complain or be mad about..writing a bad review is such a waste of good space for better ones. DEFINITELY come grab a drink here if you're in the area & shoot some darts! ;) OH! And FREE POPCORN, yaaaaasss! That adios (AMF as they say here) was just as good as ones back home, that gummy bear was deliciously sweet and they had great white!!!! Which made me think of home and sippin bottles of that on the beach!

Yelp
Such a great spot - for both locals and out-of-towners. It's the quintessential SF gathering place with classic SF architectural charm, prohibition-era figurines, pool tables, dart boards, popcorn machine, jukebox, large screen TVs and a warm and inviting staff. The bar is family owned and operated and comes with a great backstory that will make you beam. When you visit, be sure to ask the owners bartending son, Elliot, for the Final Final's beginning. It's a story you won't forget!
google avatar

Nelson W.

Yelp
During football season and basketball season, the Final can be full at 10 am on Saturday morning with fans of teams from the Midwest and East Coast. Same with early pro games on Sunday. Afternoon games are busy, and then at some point the evening crowd comes in to finish off the day. In other words, this place isn't empty too often. The crowd is what I might call Marina influenced, but pretty low key. The bartenders hustle and do a great job in a very friendly way.
google avatar

Bethany M.

Yelp
Local neighborhood bar, pretty steady on a Friday night when we were there. Nice bartenders and very attentive although the drinks seem more expensive than most places unfortunately.... Nice place to watch a big game I'm sure (haven't tried it out for that yet), but if I'm just looking to get a drink, I'll probably go somewhere else or the next block to my house!
google avatar

Serena C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I walked by this place on the way to get sandwiches elsewhere and the friendly service and specialty cocktails caught our eye! I ordered a delicious açaí margarita while my boyfriend tried the watermelon, both super delicious. We also got their chicken taquitos (a childhood favorite!) and sat in their cute outdoor space. We will definitely come back for more drinks and look forward to checking out the bar indoors when times are safe!

Yelp
Super friendly, crazy delicious drinks, great prices. Easiest, fastest COVID cocktail option. Yum!
