Absolutely wonderful! I ordered off the Tuesday special menu(shrimp pomodoro) which was amazing and reasonably priced($30) for the size of the portion! Perfectly cooked! My wife had the fish and chips entree which she said redefined fish and chips for her it was that good! We also had an appetizer of clams on the half shell which were fresh and terrific and the wife had a martini! Great service! Beautiful view! Definitely worth checking out!

Google
Great restaurant overall. Very well decorated, great food and drinks. Something for everyone in your party whether they are seafood lovers or not. I do recommend reservations especially if you are visiting during the summer or other busy times of the year. We went for an early dinner because it was booked for the night by 1pm. Our waiter was amazing! Food was delicious, we had everything from steak to tacos and everyone was happy.

Google
Really nice on the water little spot. Big, versatile menu. The sushi was so fresh and tasty. Entrees were pretty good, could have been nicer presentation. Black cod was delicious. Espresso martini was so yum and desserts were tasty as well. If I ever come back would love to try other stuff. Also our server, Juliette, was awesome!

We went for lunch on a Friday without reservations. We were seated right away. Our waitress was so pleasant and gave us some recommendations. It took a while for the food to arrive but their food was delicious. I highly recommend their clam chowder!!

Google
Such a great evening with my husband and little pup. Sam was wonderful and made the dining experience so wonderful. He was showed patience with our dining cadence and made the evening wonderful. Very dog friendly! Perfect!

Google
Beautiful view—definitely get an outside table if possible! Our wonderful waiter recommended the fried catfish so effusively when I asked that I ended up ordering it. Flaky and flavorful, and the polenta was a nice touch, even if the spinach was a bit wet for my taste. The paella was too much for me, salty and overwhelming, and I couldn't handle more than a couple of bites, but the clam chowder was excellent. Worth a visit overall!

All of the members of staff we encountered were friendly, polite, and helpful. We sat indoors (by choice) and it was easy to manoeuvre my electric wheelchair through the entrance foyer, past the bar area to our table which overlooked the marina. I had the lemon basil pasta [vegetarian] and my allium allergy was catered for perfectly. My husband had the lobster roll and we both thoroughly enjoyed our food. We had had dinner at Finz during our previous trip to Salem in 2024 and were very glad that it was equally as good this time around. We will not hesitate to have dinner at Finz again on our next visit to Salem.

Google
Absolutely EVERYTHING is amazing. It was the perfect night to be out on the patio. The service was wonderful and we could not have asked for a sweeter server! She even brought our dog a bag of dog treats. I am sooo glad that we chose this restaurant to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday (a day early!)

Yelp
Seafood restaurant with a view of the harbor. I only had the clam chowder on this visit, but it was delicious. Open for lunch and dinner lots of space . The service was great . Leave some time to shop in the area. There are lots of little local gift shops.

Yelp
Last night's 7:00 PM dinner at Finz in Salem, MA: 1. The Fried Catfish Special and Ginger Maki Sushi ordered arrived at the table two minutes after we ordered. RED FLAG. 2. The $36 "Fried Catfish" had the texture of a flip-flop that's been left in the Sahara for a week. A total failure.

Yelp
FINZ -- A Mixed Bag This Time I've been to FINZ many times and it's usually a reliable go-to, but tonight was a mixed experience. The good: The sushi was excellent--fresh, beautifully presented, and genuinely delicious. I had the hand roll with tuna, avocado, cucumber, tobiko, and kizami wasabi, along with a spicy tuna roll topped with a creamy, flavorful sauce. Everything on the plate looked as good as it tasted. The not-so-good: The service was the worst I've ever had here. We originally asked to sit outside, but it was windy, so we requested a different table. The waiter seemed irritated, even though the new table was closer to his station. He didn't offer any helpful suggestions (like moving closer to the wall for wind protection), just shifted us one table over with clear annoyance. Drink and food orders came out fine, but the waiter was disengaged. When he asked if we needed anything else, he was already walking away. We had to call out to request water, which he brought--and then disappeared. No one checked in, no offer of dessert, no clearing of plates, no check. After waiting 10 minutes, we finally went to the hostess stand to pay. To make things worse, the hostess didn't know how to process a credit card, and the manager didn't know how to use Apple Pay. I had to dig out my card and hope it worked. FINZ may be a Salem staple, but tonight the service missed the mark badly.

Yelp
We had the most perfect weather during our visit to Salem. We also had our dog with us. Outdoor seating was a must for us and Finz was a perfect choice. Food was all delicious, although portions are a bit smaller. Our waitress was excellent. The views are outstanding. Overall, even if you don't have a dog with you I think you will enjoy Finz for the beautiful water views.

Yelp
A bunch of people recommended going here for some good seafood. There were so many options on the menu it was so hard to decide! We got some fresh and delicious oysters. I also ordered the poke bowl which was very delicious and had a really nice presentation. The spicy mayo is slightly spicier than most- if you have a spice tolerance but it was very good. The wine flight was also great! Service was good too!

Yelp
We had an opportunity to go out for a nice dinner, and although it was cold outside, we love a view of the water. The location hit the mark 100%. Although this may primarily be seen as a seafood restaurant, it has some great options for all food lovers. We started with the goat cheese appetizer, and although I found it pricey for the portion, it was delicious. I loved seeing a kids' menu with more options than just pasta, grilled cheese, cheeseburger, and hotdog. They offered popcorn shrimp, and the sides had good options too, like tater tots! My son, who is 5, rarely cleans his plate completely, but this night he did. He loved the shrimp and tots, which was a big win for us. My husband and I both had the filet, and it was cooked perfectly. My husband wouldn't stop raving about it. He's allergic to seafood, so having non-seafood options was a big hit for him. I love seafood, but felt like a steak. Overall, this was a great night with awesome ambiance and the water views we wanted. A note for others: parking could be tricky, so give yourself some time if you have a reservation.

Yelp
Oysters were magnificent! Came here for a birthday dinner with a girlfriend, we wanted something festive, little upscale, with really good non-fried fish options. I recommend grabbing one of their sushi rolls and sharing as an app! My favorite thing was probably the seasonal gnocchi with scallops, wild mushroom, and a delicious truffle ber Blanc sauce. That said, everything was really fresh and delicious. It was pricey, but totally worth it.

Yelp
*this visit was mid September* This is a fun spot to grab some seafood. The price was average for a seafood spot and the view is pretty. They have indoor/outdoor seating and a bar. Our server was knowledgeable. They have a good selection of sushi and seafood as well. Overall: I would revisit if in the area.

Yelp
Heavenly, best fries I've ever eaten in my life. Sitting out on the patio is amazing with a great view. The Service was great. Everything felt & looked clean. If the food's not good, there is no reason to return, and this restaurant has AMAZING flavor. 10/10 would return when we're back in the area.

Yelp
I visited New England this summer. One requirement was I needed a lobster roll. On the last night of the trip we stopped in at finz. We were seated outside quickly, and the view was wonderful. It was a nice setting to finish the trip. They do not serve Coke or Pepsi products, so I skipped a soda. The rolls were nice and hot. I would suggest ordering there. I almost wish we had more. My lobster roll was so good. Plenty of big chunks served with butter. I wish I would have requested a side of butter to dunk some of it in. The homemade chips were also delish. It was a perfect final dinner in the area. My friend really enjoyed her meal as well.

Yelp
Seen this on YouTube so many times and staying in Salem for the second time we had to go. Absolutely fantastic food. Can't say it is the cheapest place,it isn't but good food and friendly staff. Would go again.

Yelp
Decent waterfront restaurant in the Derby Wharf area of Salem. Finz offers indoor and patio seating is a short walk from the downtown area. We enjoyed the fresh cool air of the patio seating, view from the patio, and the maritime theme of the restaurant! Prices were higher than some other places in Salem. Service was great! Our server, Jennifer P, took excellent care of us! For food, we tried the clam chowder ($18)- rich and hearty flavor, served hot. Would rate 4/5: Recommend! There was some cheese looking residue stuck on the outside of the bowl, but it happens. Just caution the restaurant to make sure serve water is clean. We also tried the lobster roll ($38). 3.5/5. I order the chilled mayo lobster roll. The roll came with a good quantity of lobster meat but it was impossible to eat as a sandwich based on the small size of the bread. Some people may love it that way but it wasn't my preference. The roll was good but not great. The sauce lacked any wow factor to bring it all together and some pieces of shell/inedible parts were still on the meat. The coleslaw and chips with the roll were great! Lastly, we tried the Baja tacos with local fish, which was haddock ($19) 2/5. This dish was the most disappointing as the tacos were dry and largely flavorless. The fried fish was nice and crunchy but tortilla and accompanied ingredients and crème fraiche didn't complement each other. Maybe substituting chopped cabbage in place of the shredded lettuce and using a spicer or more flavorful sauce would help.

Yelp
We had a great experience dining on the wharf with my best friend today-- FINZ is great!!! We experienced a 25 minute wait for the restaurant, but it is completely justified. We were lucky to get seated outside on the waterfront, with great views of MA ships, and a side of Salem Suburbia! I love it. The food here was pretty good and the service was exceptional! We started off with their bread roll appetizers for $2- a really great addition to the table. Well worth the price. For drinks ordered cokes with lemon, standard. For the main courses we went for the BBLT and Angus burger-- both great options for seafood alternatives. The BBLT on naan was excellent, chock full of bacon. The burger was average, but still pretty good, though a bit over cooked. The steak fries were excellent, best thing on the table. I heard they do their seafood even better. Definitely a great option for food on the wharf-- check it out!

Yelp
Amazing food!!! So fresh, great price, and great quantity. Went twice, got a crab cake sandwich the first time and sushi the second time, and both were great. Got fish and chips both times too and both were great (fries were well seasoned). Lovely view, friendly waiters. Would visit again!

Yelp
Food was delicious... service was great and the view was ideal. 8.75 out of 10.. the Chowder could have been thicker.

Yelp
Quaint little area located on the wharf of Salem, we were seated at a table overlooking the water with a gorgeous October full moon. Our server was super friendly, accommodating, and gave great recommendations. We had a shrimp cocktail, some raw oysters, calamari, a wine for me and a cocktail for my husband. Mains were shrimp tacos- yummy- and husband had a fish plate with potatoes. He said it was excellent! The place was packed so make a reservation!
google avatar

Yelp
Close to the water front. Quick seating no reservation required on a Thursday evening. Quick service as well. The waiter was super friendly and very knowledgable of the menu and recommended what i ordered. Quiet next to the marine. Indoor and out door seats available.

Yelp
Great food , feel, history and fun. Love the seafood meal in posting a photo of but sure wish it had the turf as well! You got to live the feel of this entire area if you've not been before. It's an experience of eastern north America all really should vacation at to enjoy. You got to love fish and the urban historical feel as well as the noise and chowder!!! You know, the red stuff!

Yelp
Have been going to Finz since it opened and food was always great. The last three times I went it was mediocre at best. I gave it one last try a few weeks ago and was again disappointed. Service was good so I gave it 3 stars. The great location is not enough to get me back.

Yelp
Friend ours recommended the place next door, I looked at their menu and wasn't impressed. Saw the menu at Finz and said hell yeah! Seafood sampler appetizer was amazing! Wife had the yellowfin black and white tuna. Served rare with cucumber seaweed salad, warm sushi rice cake, crab dynamite, sesame, avocado, wasabi cream & kabayaki. Simply amazing! I had the Dijon Swordfish. Butternut squash hash, Dijon cream, crispy green beans. It was so good! The beers were perfect. Guinness at the right temperature. No room for dessert! Highly recommend this establishment. Waitstaff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely return. Thanks for the great experience for a couple of out-of-towners!

Yelp
I was so excited to come here because it's dog friendly. But the only tables you can sit at are in the full sun. No umbrellas over the table or anything . Like why? Nobody wants to eat in full sun.
google avatar

Yelp
Here's the challenge with places that are hyped up - you automatically go into them thinking you're going to have a fantastic meal. Then unfortunately, when you don't, it's a bigger let down. Absolutely lovely location but overall, the chowder and the fish n chips were quite bland. I certainly expected more
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Hot lobster roll with butter was delicious, loved the fries and coleslaw too! Loved the outdoor seating, and their bar area is also nice! I had the seasonal raspberry lemonade sangria and it was good, but the meal was better!
google avatar

Stefanie L.

Yelp
Sushi!!!! Get it! Fun vibe inside, reservations taken. In off months - like Jan- April, prob don't need one.

Jo S.

Yelp
Service was good. Very nice view of the harbor. We had the steamed lobster, for best taste experience and I enjoy all the flavors, with sides of corn and mashed potatos. And starter of oysters. I found something very odd in the mashed potatos and opted to show our server, mind you we never complain but this looked disgusting. We were told as expected it was just the eye of the potatos, if you ever cooked you would know that it was not, this was some foreign object. Not expecting any acknowledgment or compensation, which we didn't get either, we paid and left. Not impressed!!
google avatar

Lizzy K.

Yelp
Beautiful views, a round building to make the most of the scenery: seating ratio which is appreciated. Interesting drink menu options - comparable to a major city options and prices. Dinner consisted of pasta and seafood. Seafood was good, past was just ok - flavors and seasoning were just ok for me. Decent service no serious complaints.

Myah D.

Yelp
Really cute spot that overlooks the water. Our server was also very nice and witty, I love a funny dinner. I had their scallops entree and it was excellent!! My boyfriend got the lobster roll and it was mediocre, pretty plain and dry unfortunately. Very nice restaurant in a cute part of Salem.

Yelp
Food was really good..sushi was delicious. Our waitress Ananda(I believe) was so awesome. She helped with ordering and with lobster basics lol. Thank you. We would def come back here to try all the things they have.
google avatar

Yelp
We had lunch here while in Salem yesterday. I will start by saying the two women I was with had fish and chips and the other a squash salad and enjoyed their meals. The service from our waitress was very slow but she was friendly. Picking up the pace I would suggest. I asked for ketchup and Cole slaw and waited as I watched our waitress get drinks for another table. Finally someone else brought it to me. I ordered baked haddock with steamed vegtables. When I went to cut into the fish it was like rubber. It appeared it had been frozen and then microwaved. The waitress offered me something else but I decided no . I would suggest a seafood restaurant on Pickering wharf actually use fresh seafood and actually bake it. Sending out fish that can't be cut leaves a bad lasting impression
google avatar

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was marred by an issue that should never be overlooked: the BATHROOM. While the food was decent and service was amazing, the state of the restroom was downright GROSS. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that cleanliness is not a priority here. The floors and menus were sticky. The doors and windows were splattered with what looked like food stains and there was a distinct unpleasant odor that lingered in the hallway between the kitchen and BATHROOM. The kitchen swinging doors were left open and they should rethink that. If I saw the kitchen before ordering, I wouldn't have ordered any food. The bathroom's toilet paper dispensers were empty (all of them), the hand dryers weren't working, they did not have paper towels available and the floor was disgusting--covered in toilet paper, random trash and women's feminine products. To top this review off, there was a waitress that used the bathroom and didn't wash her hands. We then saw her at the food grabbing station to pick up her table's food. We were so grossed out but then again, with what toilet paper and drying application did she have?! Bahaaa, nasty.
google avatar

Yelp
I recently went to Finz and it did not disappoint. It is a waterfront institution in Salem with good reason. We were there on a busy Sunday night (make a reservation) and got seated right away. Our server was outstanding and we had the great combination of fast service, but not feeling rushed. We shared a special-a watermelon and feta salad that was perfect for a warm day. I had the swordfish and my friend had a crabcake sandwich. Both portions were large and we enjoyed every bite. Parking is a challenge. The lot is for many businesses and there is no valet. You should also be prepared for a lively amount of ambient noise, but this wasn't unexpected. I'd definitely return.
google avatar

Kendra L.

Yelp
We had dinner reservation on a very busy Saturday. Unfortunately I got the time mixed up and we arrived late. The hostess was gracious and said to give her a moment and she would be able to work us in. Within 20 mins we were seated. We sat in a back room that lacked the ambiance of the main dining room but we were just grateful to get a table. I'm not much of a seafood eater so I ordered a dessert for dinner (anything goes on vacation!). I had the peach berry cobbler served warm with ice cream. It was fresh, homemade and delicious. Everyone else in our party ordered seafood and was satisfied with their meals. The portions were large. My child ordered off the kids menu and it included a dessert of an ice cream sandwich with whip cream and sprinkles. A cute spin on a simple treat. The waitress was very bubbly and personable.

Krissy C.

Yelp
Always a great time here, we come almost every single day! Definitely my go to! Crème brûlée was a first and it didn't disappoint
google avatar

Jeny T.

Yelp
This is my first trip to Boston. The seafood at Finz does not disappoint!! There's a small fee for delicious, hot rolls. My husband got the salmon and I picked the crab stuffed haddock. Just phenomenal! The green beans were perfectly cooked- hot and crisp. I'm not sure what all was in the crab filling; it was savory but not spicy. Very flavorful without being heavy. And the haddock was flaky and delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. We sat outside and got to watch the sun light up the the boats in the harbor. They have an enclosed outdoor area and an open air, covered outdoor area. I can imagine this would be a special date night place if we were locals.
google avatar

PRISCILLA A.

Yelp
Restaurant is right near the water. Looks a little boujie. Food is ok. Not anything mind blowing but not poor. Price wise I would expect to pay these prices for this type of seafood restaurant. Not a bad place to try but if you're from out of state I'd look for another option.

Ana Q.

Yelp
It was tasty. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful. We got our food quickly. Only thing is I would switch out the mango puree for actual mango on the sushi roll. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. The view was really nice as well. I would come back here to eat when I visit Salem again!
google avatar

Paige P.

Yelp
We visited this place while on vacation, and it was a wonderful experience! The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the ambiance was lovely--a cute spot with an amazing view. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a large group, and everyone enjoyed their meals without a single complaint. Highlights for us were: * Calamari: Perfectly crispy, high quality, and not chewy at all--just delicious! * Chicken Strips with Chili Orange Glaze: These were outstanding! It's been weeks since our trip, and my husband and I still can't stop talking about them. We only wish we lived closer because we'd definitely be regulars here!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Prepping for our Salem trip, this place came up.. a lot... so we decided to make it our last dinner. What a great choice! The rain had stopped and we'd opted for outside seats. Cute place, bright lights, and friendly servers who had either dressed for the season or were allowed to express themselves at work, but either way everyone seemed friendly, efficient, and geared towards making customers happy. We started with cocktails and a varietal selection of the seasonal oysters. Comparing and contrasting was fun, but all were delicious. Being in New England I felt like a lobster roll was pretty obligatory and It was amazing, fresh, overstuffed, not slathered in mayo. Loved it. Spensyr had the sesame crusted tuna, yum, it so good, and so much food she didn't finish it. We were full but I never say no to crème brûlée, and this one was just the finishing touch I needed.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
A bit loud and we weren't able to sit in the outside patio but this was one of not THE best chowder I've ever had! Our server was super nice too, she's from Brazil. Always friendly and attentive. Made our dinner even better!
google avatar

Carmen L.

Yelp
I met an old friend here and knew I had to have seafood for lunch. In addition to the usual soups, salad, appetizer, and sandwiches, they carry entrees and sushi during lunch. Making a decision was tough but I opted for a warm lobster sandwich. One word: AMAZING. They don't skimp on the lobster and they don't drown it in butter, like some places do. It's served with homemade chips (nothing to write home about) and a tiny side of coleslaw. Honestly, I'd forgo the chips for a more significant side of slaw. Service was great and the food came out quickly on a Friday at 12:30pm. Street parking available.
google avatar

Wai H.

Yelp
Lovely spot for dinner. The menu has tons of options and being right on the water is great during sunset. The warm lobster roll is delicious. Super meaty and flavorful. The house chips are addicting. The service was super quick and attentive. Not too busy during a week night for dinner either.
google avatar

Courtney J.

Yelp
Shawna V was excellent. Efficient, matched the vibe/pace when we were trying to space out apps and drinks/entrees etc, very nice, and all on Halloween night when it was super busy! The food was really good quality and they had best lobster roll we tried around town.
google avatar

Inspired C.

Yelp
Our waiter Andre was good even though it seemed he had several tables to manage the night we were there. We were there in early October and even though it was during the week we did have a large group. The food was good though we didn't receive everything we ordered. I know there were a lot of tables however it would be great to still to get a server who spent a little time with the table. Overall the service was good and the group enjoyed their food we did receive! During the time we visited it is hard to truly evaluate since there are so many more people onsite compared to normal service.

N P.

Yelp
Had fantastic sushi, lobster roll, and oysters here. Service was kind and attentive. Great view too!!!
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
We walked in on a slow Monday evening, but the staff worked hard like it was a busy night. The food was great for the price you paid. If you're looking for moderately priced seafood in the Salem area that is delicious, this is it! Further, it's an expansive restaurant, so there is space for everyone!
google avatar

Monica A.

Yelp
We had such a good meal there that we went back the following night The restaurant has a pleasant and alive atmosphere with lovely outside seating facing the marina. The first night, it was packed and, even though, service was fantastic. Second night, a Monday, another waitress, another story. But food was constantly good on both nights. Sushi is very fresh and well executed. Special note for the vegetarian ones, innovative and tasty. Boiled lobster was divine (served with a mashed potato to die for)
google avatar

Yelp
First of all I wanted to shout out my server Justina ! She was amazing not only did she recommend a great apps and lunch options she had great hospitality! She was fully engaged made sure we were great each time walking past the table! it was so beautiful inside of the restaurant! We will definitely be back! We hope to have her as our server again! I highly recommend this place! we got 3 rounds of mussels and fish and chips and the street corn shrimp! Amazing like drooling good!
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
This place is a MUST! Fresh seafood, seating on the bay, wonderful service and just an overall laidback vibe. Our food was fantastic! Definitely would recommend!

Terra C.

Yelp
I originally made reservations for a weekend in October, since I knew Salem would be busy. However, I accidentally made the reservation for 2 instead of 3. I was unable to change my reservation online since they had run out of reservations slots. I called the restaurant and they accommodated my party change so easily. The day of our reservation, I realized we were going to want to eat dinner earlier than expected. Once again, I called the restaurant and they accommodated me again! On top of the amazing service, the food was delicious. The PSL espresso martini was to die for. Overall, 5/5!
