Was visiting L.A. from Nashville... had heard about the chocolate chess pie at Fiona through a food blog and decided that I must stop by. In fact, I tried pies from about 6 different bakeries/restaurants in town, as I'm a pie fanatic and own a bake shop in Nashville myself. I have to admit, I was quite let down by Fiona. The lady (didn't get her name) waiting on me on Friday (May 10th) evening was quite stand-offish and a bit rude, honestly. She wasn't inviting at all and was quite snappy while I asked a few questions regarding the restaurant, menu and the release of the owners new cookbook that I'd heard about. I ordered my slice of pie to go. Got back to my hotel and tried the pie, only to be let down, once again. The pie wasn't sweet, as you'd expect a hunk of chocolate pie to be. In addition, the crust of the pie was boring and tasteless. It almost had a 'stale' taste to it, as well as texture, as it didn't have any type of crunch or crisp to it. Honestly, I hate to give such a low rating, especially to another small business, but between the lack of customer service and mediocrity of their pie, I just had to...
