"At Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub and Restaurant it serves up classics like fish and chips, bangers and mash, and corned beef and cabbage. But for the ultimate in warm comfort food get its take on shepherd’s pie, which combines lamb and vegetables in a silky smooth gravy, topped with mashed potatoes and cheddar cheese. Everything is then wrapped in a sheet of puff pastry, baked, and served piping hot. This dish is definitely big enough to share, or bring part of it home for a second comfort food filled dinner." - Megan duBois

First time going. Food and service were great. Atmosphere is nice but a bit loud and some areas cramped. The high top chairs are a mixture of styles, most with no backs and some have very small seats.

Google
Atmosphere is perfect, but everything else was just ok to terrible. Ordered spring rolls and fish tacos(no onions). Got a fish sandwich with onions. Explained we ordered the fish tacos and they came out with salsa full of onions. No silverware or napkins were ever brought to the table. The whole experience was disappointing. We were hoping we didn’t have to keep driving to McK’s Tavern in Daytona to enjoy a good Irish Pub, but no one has come close yet.

Very nice atmosphere fantastic food. Good service.

Authentic atmosphere and food as if you are in Ireland! Wonderful staff who are engaging and helpful! Excellent food! Delicious fish and chips! Also loved the Rachel(turkey reuben). Extensive bar menu as well!

The food was phenomenal. We ordered the giant pretzel, and it is indeed giant, but the star was the beer cheese. Creamy and just a touch sour, it cut the saltines of the pretzel perfectly. The chicken pot pie that I ordered was on the small side, but for me it was a perfect portion. I do wish the puff pastry on top covered the whole dish and not just a small wonky star shape that was three whole bites, but the flavor of the dish and quality of ingredients made up for it. The Guinness Beef Stew was also amazing, though my husband didn't like the amount of rosemary that was in it. I enjoyed his leftovers since I loved the flavor. The only issue was the service. It was great when we got there and up until we got our food. When we finished our meal, we had to wait an entire hour to get our check. The server went MIA on our table and the one behind us, and when we asked the hostess she just said she'd go find the server. Other than that, the meal was wonderful and we're definitely going to go back again sometime.

This place is really cool and the interior is authentic feeling. I bet at night time it really feels like you could be in Ireland and the food is to match. I enjoyed the Scottish egg and their rendition of the BLT. Everything, including my drink, was delicious. Our waitress was in a kilt and very kind which we loved. I will be back with my very Scotch/Irish father and I am sure he will be impressed.

Google
A Hidden Gem with Outstanding Service and Flavorful Food This was either my second or third visit to Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, and once again, it delivered on every level. As someone new to the area, I’m always on the lookout for places that are clean, authentic, offer great food, and provide solid service—and this place checks all the boxes. From the moment I arrived, the service stood out. Shannon, behind the bar, greeted me with a warm, genuine smile that made me feel welcome right away. She was attentive, friendly, and clearly skilled at what she does. I had a few questions about the menu, and she answered each with enthusiasm and helpful detail. I told her I was looking for something on the lighter side and asked about the chicken salad salad. (yes, that what it's called) Rather than just giving a yes-or-no answer, she thoughtfully suggested the Fields of Green Salad instead and offered several protein options like grilled or buffalo chicken. I went with grilled—and I’m so glad I did. She recommended the creamy onion dressing, and it turned out to be the perfect pairing. My beer arrived quickly, and before I knew it, she was bringing out a beautiful, generous salad that looked just as good as it tasted. The ingredients were fresh, well-balanced, and clearly hand-prepared—not your standard bagged mix. Honestly, it was one of the best salads I’ve had anywhere, hands down. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, with a few TVs, happy patrons, and a warm, pub-style charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. Fionn MacCool’s isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place you want to return to. If you’re looking for a welcoming spot with phenomenal service, authentic flavors, and an all-around great vibe, this place is a home run. Highly recommended! RP

Google
The food was amazing! The server was great! And a good atmosphere all around… I got the fish and chips which was very big piece of fish and was cooked perfect! My wife got the Shepards pie and I was amazing very cool way they do it! 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
Fionn MacCool's Irish Pub & Restaurant is a cool enough place to grab a drink and/or a meal and soak up the atmosphere if you find yourself in Ponte Vedra, Florida. The service is friendly and professional and again, the ambiance and vibe is definitely cool. The vibe kind of takes me away from Florida and puts me in a different state of mind and reminded me of a different place and time and placed me in that timeless Irish pub ambiance. Fionn MacCool's is definitely an overall amazing place and if you find yourself in the area and looking for a cool vibe and friendly staff, Fionn MacCool's is definitely a place to head towards. Go check it out for yourself. I do not think that you will be disappointed. I will give it five stars overall. Again, Fionn MacCool's definitely earned my recommendation.

Yelp
Ate dinner here on Tuesday evening. The server was great, it was pretty quiet inside and not a ton of people. The drinks were good, food was fine but a little bland? I had the chicken pot pie and my husband got the chicken mushroom crepe thing. It was good but nothing blew my socks off. Overall it was a fine dinner, reliable. Nothing exciting though

Kirsten G.

Yelp
Their boxty chips and cheese dip are great. The Irish nachos are good too if you like boxty chips. Had the mushroom chicken boxty the other day and it was pretty good. The ambience is cool, service is decent. HIGHLY recommend the wings... we are so glad we found this place for football Sundays. You can ask for them well done and also get all flats for an extra buck!

Gabriela K.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood restaurant, they have an authentic Irish ambiance, and everyone is super friendly and accommodating. They offer different daily specials and live music or trivia certain nights of the week. Thursday night trivia is pretty cool, if you are a trivia buff, you'll enjoy it. This time around we had the fish and chips, which was delicious, the soft pretzels because they are my favorite, and a burger. Everything was really good. I am looking forward to their next dueling piano event or another trivia night in the near future, will definitely be back.

Cheeze W.

Yelp
Your Bangers Gravy needs a lot of work. Overdone Links and thick like it was all done the day before and we got the leftovers. Service was great, Beer was cold.

Kelly B.

Yelp
We ordered spinach drip at about 915 PM and it took 30 min (ordering from the bar) We arrived a bit after 830 PM as first time guests. Did not know what to expect for the dress code. Since we are on the most west end of Ponte Verde we didn't take a chance so I wore a sun dress and the hubby wore a button down shirt with jeans and nice shoes. I would say attire is all over the place I would say there was more women in nice summer dresses and men were in gold shorts and tshirts. The spinach dip was very delish. I had never had chopped fresh tomatoes with spinach dip before but it was very good. The garlic toast had too much salt for me but the hubby liked it. We both agreed it was very good. The drink prices are great. Like house wine (Coastal Vines) is only $6 a glass!! Enjoyed the watermelon margarita but it was a pre mix for sure. My hubby had a tropical leprechaun for kicks and it was good. It was a signature cocktail. He ordered an old fashioned as well but it was made with too much orange flavor he said but liked it fine. It did not come with an or age rind tho. The bar wait staff hustled all night and gave great service. 4 stars for the 30 min wait for dip

Landon G.

Yelp
I've tried half the menu at Fionn's. I've never had anything that wasn't spectacular. From delicious cream sauces on their famous Boxty's to fall off the bone tender lamb shanks, everything had blown my expectations out of the water. It's beautiful inside and the service has only matched the quality of food, amazing. I'll think about this pub for years to come. This is worth your time, money, and travel.

Carlos R.

Yelp
Great food and service. Dom was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Try the giant pretzel. NY strip. Fish and chips. Awesome bar.

Yelp
Finally getting around to writing up a few reviews from our Christmas outings, and I'm not saving the bast for last! My husband and I have been to Fionn MacCool's a couple of times but this visit had all of our adult kids with us too. Six in our party, all of drinking age, and all of us hungry. We called ahead to make a reservation. Two of the kids arrived early and they were seated at the table. They ordered beers, and one ordered a cup of soup. He did not take a photo but said it was delicious. The waitress looked after us and our glasses never went empty, and our bellies were never hungry. Ambiance is comfy, relaxed, and welcoming. Just like an Irish pub should be. Food was delicious and the servings are huge. We could have ordered 3 and split them amongst us, but we all wanted to try something different. Fionn's was our last night out for dinner before the Christmas weekend. Our kids said they would definitely want to go back when they come to visit in the future!

Mallory M.

Yelp
I have been on a mission this year to try new restaurants and omg.. this place was so good! Great service! They were attentive and quick. We started off with the Reuben egg rolls - omg. To die for!!! My bf got the fish and chips and I got a beef crepe if you will. It was beef tips with gravy and onions and mushrooms in the middle. Served with a Caesar salad! Everything was cooked perfectly and you can tell they take pride in their food. We will definitely be back!!

Craig W.

Yelp
Corned beef is amazing. Atmosphere is amazing. I also really like the desert. Wow it hits the spot. The nachos are really good but sometimes come out a little salty. The beer selection is great also. Staff is always pleasant and kids night is a great value!

Tom H.

Yelp
Prices are right, service always superb, food prep, quantity and taste excellent = this is my "local" and will be for as long as Paul keeps it up to current high standard. For my money, Fionn's is far and away the best Irish pub along the south end of Philips Hwy and there are a couple out there. Even the English place down the road closer to St Augustine (with the double decker bus, eh?). Though they give it a good go, nah, they ain't got "it". My only regret is that we've not been able to get to Fionn's on the nights with live music. But if our daily experience is any indication, those evenings ought to be a complete hoot. Cheers, yall, and don't foget to tip your servers GENEROUSLY, they work hard day in and day out!

Kevin C.

Yelp
Great selection of beers and truly gives you a true pub feeling. Definitely recommend the Reuben Egg rolls they are delicious. Definitely worth checking out they also have live music on certain nights.

Sarah S.

Yelp
The food was good. My boyfriend had the chicken and waffles. He said they were 6 out of 10. My cheeseburger was a 5 out of 10. The only thing I'd say is the staff was not very attentive. Every time we needed something, not one server was in sight. All in the back kitchen.

Carla D.

Yelp
I'm giving Fionn MacCool's a firm four, why? Read below, I'll tell you why. We decided to go here on a whim. To be honest, I actually wanted to stay home and stay in my pajamas and watch Hallmark movies, and eat cookies, but my husband had other ideas, and marriage is about compromise, right? I'll also be quite frank, I have been staying away from places that don't have outdoor seating for a while, but we went early enough that we were sat away from others (which made me feel more comfortable) and planned on being out of there by my kid's bedtime. When we arrived, we noticed on the front door a disclaimer that they were short staffed and due to some supply chain shortages, there were some modifications to their menu and to expect longer wait times. We were seated in the cutest nook. I mean seriously we had an old timey bench, near a bookcase, and a Christmas tree. I never actually look at their menu because I always get the same thing: The Shepherd's pie. Our server was super attentive. Unfortunately I can't remember her name, but she was on top of it. We first ordered my kiddo's mac and cheese, my husband ordered a beer. I waited a bit to order a drink and finally decided on a decaf coffee with kahlua and baileys. Drinks came out quickly. I will admit, my coffee was meh. I mean it was fine, but wasn't super hot, and I was expecting/assuming there would be whipped cream on top. My kiddo's mac and cheese came out quickly and he really liked it. Our meals came out semi-quickly, we were in no rush. My Shepherd's pie was piping hot. The outside was flakey, the inside was rich and delicious. My husband's fish and chips were crisp and flakey. I will say I was quite surprised when we got the bill. $14 for a coffee with baileys and kahlua?!? I think their liquor and beer prices are so much higher than other restaurants in the area, which is a real bummer. Maybe next time we'll just come here for food and skip the drinks. Pros: -Love their Shepherd's pie -They have a kids meal -Great ambiance -Good service Cons: -Liquor and beer prices are super high Tips: Get the Shepherd's pie, you won't be disappointed.

Alexandra B.

Yelp
The food here is ALWAYS tasty! Absolutely love the Rueben spring rolls. Beer flights are great and only $10! Love coming here.

Tom B.

Yelp
My family and I love this place. The boxty is incredible. You will not go wrong here!

Julie J.

Yelp
Very nice setting. Great waiter. The food was exceptional. I went with a group of ladies and everyone loved their meal. Authentic food made from scratch. I will defiantly be going back with my husband.

Lucas M.

Yelp
Stop by for lunch and had the shepherd's pie and my friend had the beef stew with the beer butter bread everything was delicious. Definitely recommend.

David H.

Yelp
Unfortunately there bartenders are only hospital till a certain time I was drinking happily for hours until a bartender made a rude comment

Matt J.

Yelp
Being from New England, their fish and chips are some of the best I have ever had. Only complaint are the bar stools. Not very comfortable

C G.

Yelp
This is such a great restaurant. My husband took me here for a date night. The interior is so authentic and awesome! Our waitress was wonderful and efficient. We tried the Reuben and fish & chips. Delicious! There Reuben egg rolls are delicious too! We had such a nice experience, we brought our friends here. Now, they love it too. Looking forward to St Patty's Day!

Louise L.

Yelp
Too expensive for the food choices. Seems to be more of a drink hang out place for the yuppies. Not exactly authentic Irish in my opinion, Donovan's down the road in Palencia is much better food and ambience for real Ireland. We've been to Ireland twice.

Jonathan A.

Yelp
We've eaten here many times and tried most of everything on the menu and always have a great meal. I'm not sure if we've ever been disappointed. Most of everything seems to be made in house.

Dawn W.

Yelp
Wow! I had a hard time deciding what to get, but I have a feeling no matter what I got, it would've been amazing! I ended up with the Ha Penny Bridge which is a crepe thin potato pancake stuffed with the most tender corned beef and cabbage with a mustard sauce that came with a salad. I was hesitant to try the Caesar salad, but it was not only a delicious dressing, it was the perfect amount of dressing. My husband went for fish and chips. Fish was super crunchy, but not at all greasy, the "chips" were nice and crispy, salted perfectly and not greasy. The peas tasted fresh, and a very delicious sauce. The place may be tucked away, but deserves checking out...food and service (James S. was our guy)

Susan P.

Yelp
This is a fun little place that I have only started coming to because it's like an hour from my house. They have this band that plays once or twice a month and the selection of music is fantastic. The inside of this restaurant/bar is always clean. The staff wear masks and everybody seems pretty nice. Every now and again you have to chase down a server to get a drink but that happens in every bar. We've tried several items on the menu and everything was very good. They make these interesting nachos I don't even know what the chips are made out of but they're crispy and soft at the same time. Very strange but very tasty. The layout of this bar is pretty traditional Irish pub although it's bigger with a higher ceiling than an actual real Irish pub would be. The sound quality is great although if you sit right in front of the band there will be no conversation. The layout is conducive to social distancing and I wouldn't change anything it's been a good two visits here

Dale B.

Yelp
Both the food and service are great! I had the chicken wings and they are top notch.i

Jim R.

Yelp
The food is very good and fairly priced. Service is outstanding. The ambiance is great, like being in an Irish pub.

Katelyn H.

Yelp
We all loved the food here and was fairly priced! It did take a long time to get seated despite not being busy but was worth the wait. The restaurant was kept clean and the staff was very nice.

Sean S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and the service was fine. Great place to come if you plan on drinking. Food is just okay. Shepherds pie looks great but taste isn't there, overly sweet and not savory.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Went with 10 people after 911 walk. I'll make it short. They brought me bangers and mash that was burnt and cut open with mushy onions with almost no potatoes. Obviously brought me someone's returned meal. None of us will go near this place again. Discusting!

Heidi W.

Yelp
Service at the time was horrible and food was eh. We believe in restaurant forgiveness so me may or may not try again

Ryan A.

Yelp
Delicious food! The shepherd's pie was amazing. Don't trust the photos, that thing is giant and at least two meals-worth.

Karra B.

Yelp
My favorite spot to grab some AMAZING food and AMAZING drinks. The servers and service goes beyond my expectations. the bar is very clean and very cozy. The bartenders are really on top of it. So friendly. 100/10 !

Katie P.

Yelp
This place was a hidden gem! We had never even heard of it before and so glad my husband found it! He is British so always looking for UK style restaurants for a good full breakfast! I got the very warm and hearty beef stew and our son got the kids Mac and cheese which was a white cheddar and honestly so good for a kids meal! My parents both got a seafood dish with a creamy risotto that they both loved! The giant pretzel appetizer with warm cheese was super tasty! And we got the cookie skillet to share.. it was the perfect size if you just needed a small sweet bite! Ambiance was perfect and our server Jim was wonderful! Such a nice sweet guy! Can't wait to go back again!

Trenten O.

Yelp
The food is fantastic. We use it as a carry out place. Here are a few more words so Yelp is happy about the review length.

Roger W.

Yelp
Shepherds Pie Great service and food in a Warm Irish environment that would be hard to beat.

Hannah P.

Yelp
I have been to Ireland- and this is spot on. Authentic dishes and atmosphere as well as excellent service! Definitely order the spinach dip appetizer & substitute the boxty chips (in place of crostini.. which I'm sure is also amazing though). You will not regret it! All of our food was heavenly, melt-in-your-mouth good, and served timely. My boyfriend & I will absolutely be back to try more of the menu. There was live music while we were there which was relaxed and lovely too. We had great craic here for sure, will return on another date night or with friends!

George S.

Yelp
Love this place. Great service, food and awesome bartenders. Music is great on the weekends.

C S.

Yelp
Great wings, good service and a decent band on a Friday night. What more do you need.. 40 some odd beers on tap as well.Steven was great behind the bar and the staff was attentive.

Ashley G.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant twice. The first time it was okay. I ordered the fish and chips. The food was cold. Fish was good but cold. The fries.... Meh. Cold and average. My mother's wine glass was not clean and she sent it back. We tried this restaurant because my husband has been wanting to try it. We thought we'd go while he was on his business trip before we took him. Fast forward to the second visit on a Sunday night... I ordered the lamb. While the meat was good, it was COLD. Potatoes were cold, green beans were cold and the Scottish egg we ordered was cold and dry. Not good. And the bartender... she's useless. I ordered a glass of wine when I ordered my meal and I didn't receive it I was well into my meal. Why? Because she was too engrossed in her conversation with a couple sitting at the bar. What's funny? That couple were the only ones sitting at the bar! I watched her the entire time. She at one point told our waitress to wash the wine glasses if she needed a glass of wine. She needs to be fired. Lack of care and professionalism. I will never be back.

CJ W.

Yelp
Really loud. But then it is a bar. Fun place to hangout with friends, play trivia, and eat mediocre food. I didn't like the food. My husband did. Nice large portions. Too salty for me

Kris T.

Yelp
Never had a bad experience. Food & entertainment are always great! Kinda tucked away in a small shopping center. Fun place!

Patricia L.

Yelp
GRAND OPENING DAY!!! WOO HOO!!! WOW...they did a great job inside. The atmosphere is amazing! We were there mid-afternoon around 3:30. To our surprise it was not crowded...so it was a good time. However, Happy Hour doesn't start until 4:30...so boo on that! We were too early!!! In any case, we were seated right away with no wait. Our waiter was Jackson and he moved over from the other location. He knew his stuff, and was very attentive. That said, I didn't know what beer on tap to try and Jackson made some recommendations and even obtained samples for me to try before ordering. I appreciated that. On that note, try the Orange Blossom! It was delicious and taste like you're drinking a flower...ha! We started off with a Scotch Egg. If you have never had one before then you should most certainly try it. It is an appetizer, but can be eaten as meal itself...very filling. The sauce that is on this is simply divine...it has a hint of horseradish. If I wasn't in public I may have been tempted to lick the plate! I couldn't make up my mind on what to try for my main meal, so Jackson made some recommendations...I went with it and I am so glad I did. I am familiar with Sheppard's Pie, but not like this. Whoever thought of making a Sheppard's Pie into this amazing turnover tower? I don't know...but they must have had an angel on their shoulder because it was heavenly! My husband got the bangers and mash and they were cooked to perfection. My son got the French Dip and it was good, but here lies the one and only con with our visit today. The bread seemed to be baked fresh, but it didn't seem like it was done all the way before making a sandwich out of it. Just a little off...but certainly not worth dinging a star over. In observation they do have some bugs to work out which is to be expected. I am just super happy that they moved to this location since there isn't much out here and gives the people in this area another option. My quirky issue: The check was taken up before we left while we were finishing our drinks. I don't know why this drives me crazy, but it does. To me, it shouldn't be taken until I'm/we're finished and gone. It's like non-verbally telling you to leave...not cool. But I will let it slide this time since they just opened today and things were starting to pick up. They do offer a first responder and military discount, but only on Monday's.

Gary D.

Yelp
To start off this place is not the easiest place to find. It's tucked away in the corner of a strip shopping center off of Rt. 1 and it's obscured by a large tree. But once you've found it you'll feel like your stepping into a pub in Ireland. It's decorated just like an Irish pub and it's definitely lit like an Irish pub. They serve all the Irish pub favorites, I had the Shepard's Pie which was huge, usually I have no problems finishing any meal at a restaurant but I took half of the pie home with me. It was very tasty and filling. She had the mahi sandwich (she's not a big fan of Irish food) and enjoyed it. We went for their happy hour, 4-7 weekdays and their drink prices were very reasonable for happy hour. Half off all draft beers which makes them reasonably priced as they are normally $7 - $8. Their house wines, she had the cab, are also half off so $4 for a decent glass of Cabernet. What is strange is their pricing for wines, they offer Meomi which is her favorite wine and very popular for $8 also, happy hour pricing doesn't apply to this. The surprise here is that wine anywhere else is usually $10 - $12 a glass. I hope I don;t give them any ideas about raising the price. The food prices were a little on the high side but they give you very large portions as I mentioned earlier. If you're looking for a good bit of Irish cooking, you've found your place.

Mary P.

Yelp
Wanted to love this place as it is so close, but we always seem to go when Mellissa is the bartender/server. First time I ordered a sandwich and she questioned me twice to see if that's what I really wanted, saying " you know we are an Irish bar". I do know, I'm actually from Ireland. Second time I ordered a margarita, they offer them for $2 on a Monday. Bill came there were 2 margaritas on it, I final got her attention, with total attitude, she said the $2 drinks are tiny so to save herself coming back to make another one in 5 minutes she automatically makes a double. Then said are you going to argue over $2? My husband wanted to have her take the second one off the bill in principle, not worth the hassle. Wish I knew when she worked so we could just avoid her.

Robert F.

Yelp
Dropped by for brunch. Let's get this out of the way. Best corned beef and eggs I've had in years. Real corned beef. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Served with seasoned potatoes and a slice of dark brown Irish bread. I was in Chicago last time I had hash and eggs that good. Son got the chicken and waffles...he didn't share, must have been good. Forget the hour long wait at other breakfast places and try this.

Jo R.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and good food. Some days they have live music. Beef stew - was a little salty but had very good flavor. Fish and chips - delicious. Big portion. Skillet cookie - very rich. Have someone to share it with.

Michael B.

Yelp
Craving some black pudding I went to brunch today at Fionn MacCool's. It's the first time I have been to this location and won't be the last. I sat at the bar and when the bartender came over I ordered my favorite breakfast beer, Smithwick's. Cold and smooth as it should be. ROSCOMMON SLAMMER (traditional Irish breakfast). It was 2 eggs (over medium), a banger, a rasher, white pudding, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato, baked beans, and Irish soda bread. All was delicious and very filling. Service was great. The bartender was friendly and efficient.

Dawn M.

Yelp
Great food, outstanding party room to host a crowd of friends to share a meal. Ordered the fish & chips and it did not disappoint! I mean, it's an Irish pub... and the fish & chips held up to that! Great service, good drinks, nice atmosphere! Give it a try!!
