Every Houston Restaurant Marcus Samuelsson Visits on ‘No Passport Required’ | Eater Houston

"In this episode, chef and founder Ope Amosu brings his pop-up ChopnBlok to Cafeza. ChopnBlok is a West African fast-casual restaurant inspired by African street food; Amosu says the pop-up provides “contemporary renditions of West African cuisine” to Houston. For Samuelsson, Amosu cooks black-eyed pea fritters with kelewele (fried plantains) and a jambalaya made with jollof rice." - Sonia Chopra

Great little coffee shop just off of Chimney Rock! Ordered an iced milk tea and croissant and both were great. The staff was friendly, service was quick. Ample seating inside and good parking lot with several spots. Nice relaxed atmosphere, great for studying and working. They also had art for sale on the walls inside created by local artists. Would definitely visit again!

Loved this spot with terrific paninis and great coffee. There are a few outdoor tables, but inside had nice seating options.

Great food, friendly staff, cozy, calm atmosphere. I love it here!

The raspberry Italian soda, coffee, and breakfast panini was delicious! Cute and cozy atmosphere.

This place was great. Guy behind the counter was super friendly and helpful. Pastries were sooo good. Not overly sweet. Great with coffee! Will definitely come to again.

I'm sure it's still the same great quality. I wish they would open at least until 5 or 6pm tho so I could work from there like I used to... now I can't really find time to stop by... sigh.

We picked up a couple coffee drinks and a snack for the ride home at Fioza. My wife got frozen coconut mocha blended frozen thingy, tasted really good. I loved a hot cappucino and a piece of zucchini bread. It's nice to find this amazing caffeinated oasis in our neighborhood. We will be back for more. This is our go to spot for well made coffee drinks and gedunk (snacks). I almost always get a hot cappuccino wit' 2 splendas, wifey gets a frozen blended concoction. They always have tasty desserts and cookies. Check out the cool artwork that's for sale on their walls.

OMG obsessed 😭 I asked about their chai and let me say — it did not disappoint!!! So good and naturally sweet and yes. Just yes. Loved the workers. So kind. Atmosphere was great. Will be back next time I’m in Houston!

Yelp
the paninis are absolutely delicious. the smoothies are also very good, and so are the teas/refreshers, in particular the hibiscus mint. i haven't tried the coffee. i love the ambiance. while the place is rather dim, it's quiet and cozy with art on the walls by local artists, which i really love. the service is great although not super fast, but the food is definitely worth the wait. it is kind of pricey but the paninis might be the best i've tried.

Yelp
I had never seen or heard of this coffee shop, but I was visiting a friend in the area, and I happened to notice it The baristas were incredibly friendly, and they got orders out in a timely manner The space is sort of neat, in that the art on the walls are actually for sale. There's plenty of seating, and it's a perfect spot to catch up with a friend, have a coffee date, or to do some remote work They offer all the the classic coffee drinks, their pastries looked very enticing Some tips: The flat white was very delicious, and I would definitely recommend it. If you are wanting a place to just chill for a bit, there's a section with complementary books and board games Cheers!'

Yelp
Nice quiet place to work. Excellent Panini's and Reese's peanut butter cookies! Very nice staff.

Yelp
I'm working from home and I suddenly have unreliable WiFi, which means I had to go look around for a coffee place to work at. I admittedly went to Starbucks first but they were PACKED. So I looked up other coffee houses in the area and Fioza popped up so I decided to give them a try. I ended up going there twice in one week around 2 weeks ago. The place has a steady stream of customers - most of whom seem to be regulars - but there were always tables available, even if it wasn't one you wanted. At least when I got there at around 10 in the morning. The ones towards the front are small and are big enough for food and laptop for one. The bigger tables are in the back, enough for 2 laptops and food for 2. They serve breakfast/brunch/lunch foods along with drinks. Of the two days I went, I met with two different workers. First time had Aerosmith playing. Second, some old school music. However, everyone was super nice. I ordered sugary coffee drinks both times and they come in boba style! I later realized they also offer boba (tapioca/pearls) as an option for cold drinks, but I didn't opt in... Though I think I will eventually. All the drinks are solid. My second time, I met up with a friend who tried a.. Cubano? She said it was one of the best she's had! We also got their panini and let me tell you - panini-ized sandwiches are a thousand times better than regular sandwiches. I have a specialized diet (allium free vegetarian) but they happily answered all my questions. I ended up getting the avocado egg and cheese one the first time and built my own the second. They do typically add in Cajun seasoning that I can't have but they just took it out and added in salt and pepper instead. I must say the pepper they use is freshly ground because there's sometimes a kick at various areas of the sandwich. Might just be me, since I opt out of the Cajun seasonings they use. Place was clean, friendly people, great atmosphere/vibe. I'd venture to say this would be my favorite local coffee shop to hang out or work at. My WiFi did miraculously come back the next week, so I haven't been back, but I decided to work there at least once a month to mix things up and support them. I'll be back again!

Yelp
[5 days later update: The Rueben was GOOD. Apparently homemade everything. Quality interior. The sandwich was substantial, especially for a sliced bread sandwich, and the insides were a delicious balance on a warm winter morning. I'm going to have to that again with my raspberry chocolate coffee drink.] They're back in business!! I got concerned that they closed!Drinks and pastries are still lovely sized, artful, and tasty. Ambiance is quiet --my preference. Idk if their busy times have resumed. Still got some 80s interior vibe. That's okay to me because cosmetic renovation is wasteful for the environment. Bathrooms are still clean too.

Yelp
How am I just now finding this place?? Definitely a little hidden treasure in Meyerland - Was looking for a quick coffee & bite to go on a Saturday morning and this place happened to pop up for me as nearby. When I mentioned it was my first time, the barista guided me through the menu and even made helpful recommendations. All of the employees were very warm and welcoming. The space is super cozy with plenty of chairs and tables with a bar area good for studying. Vanilla iced coffee - came in an adorable cup, shaken in a sealed container like boba! Super creamy and full-bodied flavor. #4 Panini with egg, pesto, and goat cheese - came out hot and delicious, still hot even when I enjoyed it at home TLDR: Super close to Meyerland - 5 mins from the HEB. Iced coffee A+, yummy fresh quick brunch, chill, warm vibes. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
In a city filled with new and trendy coffee shops opening up daily, sweet local consistent gems like Fioza are try hidden treasures. Even though it is in a residential area, the space has an unexpected edge. I have been coming here for years. In the 2010's, I spent countless hours working on papers for graduate school. Now, even though I'm not in walking distance I try to stop by once a month for an iced soy honey latte. The staff is wonderful. Honestly, it has been the same awesome crew for the past several years. I encourage people to stop by. It is a slow burn, but a cherished establishment.

Yelp
Still continues to impress! I am bowled over by the robust and bold flavor of the expresso compared to other coffee shops I have been to and the bakery items and pastry items are of such better quality than all of the other places we have taken our out of town guest to this weekend. That's impressive. This place definitely has an easy going ambiance but I will definitely take that over the other places because the food and drink is so much better! Plus, since this is a charming, less crowded place, it isn't as noisy and you can converse more easily with your friends!

Yelp
Came here for a business meeting one afternoon. It's a cute coffee shop that isn't too big, but offers a great place to get some work done as well as good food and drink options. The menu isn't extremely extensive but portions are perfect size. I ordered the Roasted Turkey Panini and it was really good! The turkey was nice and tender and there was a perfect meat to cheese ratio. I'm also not a huge fan of basil pesto so I'm good the taste wasn't too overpowering. I ordered just the panini because sides are a la carte when ordering paninis. This was fine because it was a good size and I was pretty full afterwards. Not sure why but when I paid, my total was a bit over $9. I signed and handed the cashier the receipt. After leaving, I received a notice that my card had been charged more than $11. I drove back and inquired about the extra charge and the cashier explained that I had only been charged for the amount on my receipt which I didn't understand because my card had clearly been charged a different amount. A few days later I received a new message that my card had been charged the correct amount. Not sure if something sketchy was going on or what, so if I come back, I'll definitely just pay cash to eliminate anything like that from happening again. Despite the 'glitch' at the register (yea, that's what we'll call it), 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
I love the food such as their paninis and their smoothies as well. The service is amazing and the food comes out fast, and the ambiance seems just right.

Yelp
the coffee was okay. did not taste very authentic. inside the furniture and interior design is subpar.

Yelp
ATMOSPHERE They play music in the background. They offer board games and books to use. FOOD/BEVERAGES They sell baked goods and breakfast food. Ordered the blended caffe vida. It was tasty. 5/5 Customer service is good. The women's restroom is clean. The only thing I don't like is that they close too early.

Yelp
I've been here maybe three times. Came today and had a California sandwich with side salad and balsam vinaigrette, also had a blondie cookie that was pretty expensive. Strangely when I was eating I kept telling myself something was wrong. Maybe my food was spit in or thrown on the floor, maybe the cheese was moldy, just a bad vibe. The food was good. Looked good. Tasted good, but something was amiss. Needless to say I'm now having intense stomach cramping, I've taken Pepto Bismol x 2 and said my prayers but I'm pretty sure I have food poisoning. I don't know if the kitchen is clean or if the staff used hygienic practices, but I do know I have a weak stomach for foolishness, and my meal felt foolish. Next time I'll save my gut in the hands of chefs and servers I trust. Either way, the food was good as far as taste and visual appeal. Restaurant was full of loud middle schoolers making it difficult to focus on my read but I can't blame the shop for that. Seating was semi-comfortable, small round tables with two small chairs, a long bar with high chairs, and plush booth seating. But next time I'll trust my instincts and skip the panini offerings. Maybe I'll have one of their lattes or teas. Maybe I'll add a few more stars when I feel like my health isn't in limbo.

Yelp
Cute small and quiet coffee shop with nice employees that go out of their way to not bother you. Good number of drinks that are honestly pretty average in both taste and price but that's alright because they make up for it MASSIVELY with their paninis! It's like $10 for the yummiest paninis i've ever had, they've got vegetarian options that I (an avid chicken enjoyer) cannot resist. If you go here and just get drinks you're missing out. Personally this is my go to first date spot for the same reason it's my favorite coffee shop. I feel completely okay sitting there for 2 or 3 hours sippin on something.
google avatar

Rylie F.

Yelp
Love love love this spot. The atmosphere is average (like a 90s office vibe in an old strip mall), but the service and quality are too tier

Yery G.

Yelp
Truly recommend Fioza has the best coffee in this area. Great customer service I got my coffee super fast. Thx guys.
google avatar

Lina Z.

Yelp
When I go to a coffee shop, I care more about the atmosphere than I do the drinks because I usually only go to coffee shops to study or to read. I only buy the drink to use the space, so that's what my review will focus on. I went in the evening, and I thought it was the perfect time to go because I loved the mood lighting. The lights were dim and perfect for either a romantic coffee date or a space to focus. In my case, I went to study, and the dim lights made it very conducive for focusing, which I appreciated. The chairs were also fairly comfortable. Briefly commenting on the drinks: I ordered the latte mocha, and thought it was pretty good. This coffee shop seems to lean toward making their drinks sweeter.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop. Parking lot for multiple tenants. A little awkward jaunt up the steps and to the door. I ordered an iced coffee with one sugar free pump of caramel. I never get pumps of anything so it was interesting BUT love the ice, bubble tea type cups, and coffee! I will be back.

Yelp
Great coffee shop in the Meyerland area that's not really that big, but has a nice atmosphere. They have coffee drinks, smoothies, slushies, sandwiches, breads, muffins, scones, brownies and cakes. Their specialty coffee drinks remind me a little of Empire cafe. Artwork on the walls is for sale, like many other coffee shops. I ordered the almond joy iced coffee and a brownie, which was sorta pricy. Check it out if you're in the area.

Yelp
Amazing coffee spot with actually good coffee and great service. The baristas make the coffee look like art

Yelp
A small space tucked way in a small strip mall off Chimney Rock; it isn't obvious that you should spend your time here. Catering to the local Asian population, this coffee shop boasts tapioca milk tea. The tapioca is a bit hard rather than chewy, but overall the jasmine green tea with tapioca that I tried was pretty standard. Not too icy, or too sweet. They also have a wide selection of paninis to choose from here. This, they seem to do exceptionally well. The bread stays crisp and firm throughout your meal despite radiating lots of heat. I had the margherita which was packed with savory cheese, and well cooked tomatoes. It's clear that fioza has been here for a while. The seats are worn and tattered, and the tables and corners have some crumbs and here and there. If you're looking for something local to grab a drink and a bite, and study a little, this seems to take the cake. The clientele here is a bit ... eccentric. Wide age range. Strange conversations are to be overheard here. wifi: coffeetime

Yelp
It was an okay spot. It was raining and were next door at UPS so I let the kids come in for hot chocolate and a croissant....it was pretty basic nothing special about it. I did like that it wasn't SUPER hot so the kids could drink it without having to wait for it to cool. The iced Thai tea I had was pretty standard. The staff were very friendly which is always nice...often times when you walk into a place that is "trendy and hip" and is filled with young staff and flyers for Democratic candidates for governor everywhere you don't get a very warm reception...especially if you bring kids with you. But not the case here they were pretty nice and helpful. The seats are cramped and it's not really laid out in a comfortable way. We wouldn't make a special trip to come here but if we were in UPS again we'd probably stop in if it was raining.

Yelp
Of all the coffee places I've been to, this is one of my favorite places to go to study. There's a lot of things I look for in a coffee shop, and this place has it all. They have free wifi which is always needed nowadays since everything is online. Along with that, outlets are always coveted and this place does have a decent amount of outlets against the walls and along the bar area. I also really enjoyed the fact that they have a decent amount of places to sit, and I love that they have different searing styles. You have your normal table and chairs, but then you have higher tables, booth areas, and a bar table area, so it makes you feel comfortable, no matter what type of table you like to sit at. They have nice background music but it's not too loud or too distracting, so that's always nice to have when you study. Food/price: they of course serve coffee, so even if you're not studying and just looking for a place to meet up with someone, this place is just hipster enough to be cool, but quaint enough to take someone there on a date or to hang out. Their coffee is pretty good, very standard, but it's cool that they have frappacinos and smoothies as well. They also serve tea if that's more your cup of tea lol. Their prices are decent and pretty standard. They also serve pastries there and they're freshly made every day. The cool thing is they have a sale on their pastries towards the end of the day because they don't want to serve leftovers or have it go to waste. The large pastries are only $1 and the small ones are $0.50. I do like that they open until a decent time, so you have time to stop there after work or class. There's also parking available!! Albeit, the parking lot isn't very spacious, but I haven't had an issue finding a parking spot. Overall, great place for coffee and an even better place to study.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop to hang out these days is Black Hole, but I find myself coming to Fioza more and more because it's much closer to where I live. The drinks are solid - I've had their chocolate and hazelnut latte which is delicious but probably 5000 calories haha. I've tried their tapioca drinks (which is somewhat random of a menu item), and I have to say I'm not too much of a fan. The consistency of the balls isn't so great - but I'm sure that's probably because not many people order it. Overall the baristas are real friendly too. What I love the most about the place is that there are a plethora of plug sockets for your power hungry devices. The place is quiet and the internet is fast too which is a bonus. A great place to study or surf web.

Katherine J.

Yelp
Definitely the best coffee house in Houston. The coffees are consistently full bodied and flavorful - definitely made with pride and care. The sandwiches and pastries are equally as tasty and satisfying. Fioza is a wonderful neighborhood coffee place with a relaxing vibe and a warm welcoming crew. If you're in the Meyerland area you ned to treat yourself and your friends

Yelp
Loving this place as a new study spot! Pros: - Generally chill ambiance where most people are working on laptops or having conversations - Good number of tables and bar space - Lots of outlets - Reasonably priced drinks that are delicious! Try the chai latte. Yummmm. - Offers REAL FOOD (and baked goods). There's nothing better than a coffee shop that's not a restaurant that still offers real food (hot paninis and soups!). - Good natural lighting - Free WiFi - Lots of parking - Friendly polite staff - Outdoor patio - After 4pm, small pastries = 50 cents; large pastries = $1 Cons: - Most tables are pretty small for two people to share - Pretty busy place that can get loud when lots of people come in at once

Yelp
The #1 breakfast panini is THE BOMB! I don't think I've had a better panini in my life - and have lived in New York and Italy. Comes with a side of fruit (blackberries and bananas). Service is friendly and has a cool atmosphere, with artwork, tapestry, and board games. The only thing that detracted from my experience was being unable to connect to the wifi. But other than that, FANTASTIC!

Yelp
Tasty latte. Tasty blueberry muffin. Nice people. Free wifi. No complaints.

Yelp
What a cute little local coffee shop! What struck me the most my first time here were the local pieces of artwork that's decorating the small space. Also, they like to make paninis. Win. Although the space is relatively small, this place is well-designed. It has plenty of different types of seating: scattered chairs & tables, bar-stool seating, and booth seating. You can find a diverse, albeit focused & quietly working, crowd here on most days. Good place for productivity, although I can't speak to their outlet game. Wifi so far has been good & dependable. The paninis are pretty good, would love to explore this menu further. I've tried their meatball panini & it was satisfactorily warm and gooey as you'd expect. We also recently had some Dhal vegan lentil soup & the avocado toast. I would recommend the soup, but hold the toast. The toast was def over-limed & so it tasted tart. I have yet to explore their coffee selection, but I have been satisfied with their iced earl grey tea. Overall, it's a super cute, chill coffee shop good for locals who want a couple of hours of productivity. If you keep coming here enough, I'm sure you'll find something on the menu that speaks to you.

Yelp
The paninis and coffee were delicious. Plenty of parking outside. The place could use a little upgrade with the couches though.

Yelp
This is a comfy looking cafe near Meyerland with lots of coffee and tea options. Their Thai Green Tea is great and so is the Hibiscus Mint Tea when sweetened with honey. On my most recent visit, I tried El Delicioso -- a latte featuring dark chocolate, brown sugar, and cinnamon notes all in one! My wife thought her milk tea had too subtle a flavor and she couldn't taste much of anything. Therefore, I asked the barista for possible enhancements, and he was nice enough to ultimately provide us with some chai to mix into the milk tea free of charge. Now that's called quality, top-notch customer service! Ambience is cool and prices are very reasonable. Therefore, it's a must-try spot for anyone looking to try a new cafe in town!
google avatar

Nicholas L.

Yelp
I went during the Covid pandemic and enjoyed my Nutella latte very much. However I did think it had some kinda dark decor going on and they don't have any dine in option (to hang out and read for example), which I understand. Overall would recommend!
google avatar

Antonio H.

Yelp
Great coffee, ambiance good and friendly with good service. A outside an indistinct storefront inside local art and welcoming. The black coffee was good . The mocha was good too with milk alternatives available A first choice in the hood.

Yelp
Came here to do some research and get out of the house. Ordered a chicken pesto panini with chips and a cappuccino. It was all pretty average. The chicken pesto panini is a good portion size and I was able to save the second half for later. The chips were basic Ruffle chips and I was shocked to be charged a decent amount extra for it. The cappuccino was your standard cappuccino. It's a nice quiet place to do some stuff on your computer. It doesn't get too crowded and there are plenty of tables around.
google avatar

PJ M.

Yelp
Ordered the cold Fioza Specialty mocha with almond and coconut syrup. Asked for half-sugar which was just right for me, since I don't like my drinks too sweet. 4/5 stars for the drink. So I really liked my drink, but I can also understand what some of the other yelpers remarked on in terms of the service. I ordered a panini to go and I was in a hurry. After waiting about 5-6 minutes, the barista told me that the person who makes the sandwiches is "missing...and probably taking a break...but he should be back in like 5 minutes." I wouldn't say that anyone was unpleasant, but this kind of service is ridiculously ridiculous. They did eventually give me a refund for the sandwich, but this also took time. And I also noticed the two baristas who worked in the front giggling on their phones as I was waiting. The issue I had with waiting is that it wasn't crowded and there were no other orders in at the time. I really would've liked to have given this place 4-5 stars, but until they practice a more rigorous standard of how the workers on the front line and back line conduct themselves, I'll stick to 3-stars.

Yelp
Consistently amazing. Love the El Delicioso. Didn't love the dude waiting on his to-go order without his mask on (this was a couple months ago)

Yelp
We came back here and were very impressed! Their Thai tea wasn't overly sweet and either was their almond croissant. They were very knowledgeable and nice. I probably encountered someone new when we came a few years ago. The prices are very reasonable! Thank you for a great afternoon tea and snack!!

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop in Bellaire. I love the interior boho themed decor and how ducked off it is. Def will come here more often. Pictured is almond joy- latte.

Yelp
I met a friend here on a weekday morning and ended up staying long enough to eat lunch too. My first order was a soy latte and almond croissant. I guess I'm too accustomed to the sweetened vanilla soymilk that Starbucks uses because there was nothing sweet about this latte, but that is not their fault. For lunch I ordered a rueben-style panini and was surprised how expensive it was. Just the sandwich was around $10 and didn't include any chips or other side. It was good, but didn't quite justify the price. The atmosphere was nice and I enjoyed that my friend and I were able to sit at a table in the back of the cafe for hours and not feel pressured by the employees to leave. Most other people inside were alone on laptops or reading but I saw a stack of board games on a shelf, so maybe it is livelier at times.

Yelp
Did I find my new favorite coffee shop? Not over run by hipsters? Just outside of the loop, but actually closer to my house than some ITL spots? Offers REAL food, not just light bites? Free Wifi? Friendly customer service? YES x Infiniti Some of the places I've been visiting lately have just become way too crowded to the point where I can't find a decent table next to an outlet. Well, that's where YELP comes into play. This time I used the website and not my phone application. The first couple of pages were spots I have visited frequently and was looking for something new. This spot had good overal ratings, so I was off. Ever since I've graduated for the 3rd time, I hope not to have to use these places to study any more, but since I have been doing photography full time, I spend a lot of time editing photos. Sitting at home just drives you nuts after awhile. When I entered, I saw they had actual food, not just bites, I ordered a roasted chicken with green tea dry rub panini with a side salad. DAMN, this sandwich was yummy! The green tea rub resembled pesto? Good sized portion. They offer free Wifi and plenty of sitting options from hightop tables with stools, to countertop and low sitting tables. Great for whatever your preference. The best part? They have outlets next to basically every table. It is really bright with the whole front being windows.

Yelp
A wonderful hidden gem in the Meyerland area serving great cafe fare. My friend and I wanted to try a new place for a lunch date, so we happened to find Fioza through our "cafes" search on Yelp. The establishment is found in a small and quiet shopping strip on Chimney Rock right off of Braeswood, and there's sufficient parking with the low amount of traffic at this strip. Service was friendly and efficient - you order up front, take a number, grab your drinks at the counter, and find a seat. On a Saturday afternoon, it was half-full, but most people seemed to either be having a quiet lunch or working/studying alone. So the two of us grabbed a bar table, and I tried the following items: Green tea dry rubbed roasted chicken panini - 4.0/5.0 - This panini was terrific. It was a huge portion and perfect ratio of juicy chicken, toasty bread, and cheesiness. Although I wished there were some veggies in the panini itself, I was happy that I ordered the side salad along with the panini. Though simple, the salad was a good portion and filled with arugula, spinach, and other fancy leafy greens besides your romaine and iceberg. I topped mine off with the Asian ginger-sesame dressing (which is always a pleaser), but there are a few other dressings/vinaigrettes to choose from. Chai Latte - 4.0/5.0 - I would rank this as the second best chai latte I've had in Houston (after Salento's version). Served in a huge cup, it's rich, milky, full of spice, and not crazy sweet. Cafe Cortado - 4.0/5.0 - If you're into strong coffee, you should order this great drink. Also served in a huge cup, it comes with some latte art to adore over. Panini + side salad + chai latte = $12 = great lunch! I loved the quiet and laidback ambiance of this cafe, and I definitely am a fan of their food and hot bevvies. I'll definitely return to bring my coffee-crazed hubby along!

Yelp
Their paninis are sooo tasty. Only thing is their salad tastes like straight up dirt. And their drinks are sooo expensive. I got the Nutella drink thinking it would be good and I would get what I paid for. No I was pretty disappointed. Tasted just like expensive plain coffee. Otherwise, I recommend their paninis.
google avatar

DeHorne S.

Yelp
I'm not a regular coffee drinker, but I can never resist their Cortado. It comes in rather decent sized tea cup to start your day off. There are other coffee options for a pretty decent price. I've been here for evening reading and morning time relaxation, both serves good times to do so. I've only come here once for green tea tapioca, but it was not the best. Comfortable tables and booths all around as well as a area of board games should you choose to play some. Only gripe about this place is its limited parking lot that is shared with other businesses. Would definitely come back to try other latte options

Yelp
Sitting outside in the sun with my dogs, determined to drink a hot latte even in the 85 degree heat (before the humidity). Fioza is very welcoming inside, very cute and comfortable for working away from home. The (hassle) free wireless is very much appreciated, and they have computers for you to get online if you don't have your own. They make a good cappuccino and iced americano, and my only complaint is that I wish they had more morning breakfast food. I'd settle for a basket of fruit to grab from (although the muffins and turnovers they did have were delicious.) Edited to add- maybe they heard me or I came at a better time of day since then- they now have a basket of apples and bananas, and the fresh warm scones in the morning are delicious! A great (relaxing) place to meet people, get some work done, and enjoy decent coffee. Everyone inside is really friendly too. Recommended by two coffee snobs who try to avoid Starbucks when we can. p.s. Fair-Trade coffee

Yelp
Fantastic. Excellent customer service. However it's lacking two stars. No menu online, website reads under construction.

Yelp
Fell in LOVE with Fioza! The set up of the cafe is cozy and the best place to be whenever it's raining! It's my go to spot to study and I am always pleased. You can tell that the coffee is high quality because you get that strong coffee taste that Starbucks takes away by adding more sugar than coffee. My favorite thing to order is the Iced Nonfat Vanilla Latte. It always hits the spot! You can also add Tapioca to any iced drink which is the best part. They also offer some simple but delicious sandwiches which are perfect whenever you want to catch a quick bite!

Yelp
Best kept secret on the SW side just outside the 610 loop on Braeswood and Chimney Rock. I come here when I'm in town and by my parent's place because it's quiet and actually just a chill place if you want to read/study/chat. Place is kept up with and seems to always have people on their patio. It looks like a typical coffee shop but it's not trying to be anything. Just simple and not a Starbucks. So if you're in the area, stop by and have a drink. Their Americanos are sweet and have a mild followthrough. Curious to be around to have some of their food. I'll be back.

Yelp
Cute spot. The roasted vegetable and goat cheese sandwich is out of this world. It is incredibly decadent and delicious.
