It's tough to stick to a diet when you see the display of delicious looking desserts here! There are pies, cakes, cookies, bars, ice cream, and other goodies. And it smells so good on top of it all! We did an online order and picked it up. It was ready on time. We didn't have to wait at all. The employee was nice and had our order ready. We ordered a Chocolate Chip cookie, a Magic Bar, a Red Velvet Cake slice, a Cookie Monster pie slice, and a Guava White Chocolate Chip cookie. This will be split with my daughter and slowly eaten over 3 days during Mother's Day weekend. They all look delicious! We lucked out and got a parking spot across the street and walked over. The shop is located in the heart of Coconut Grove where there are lots of shops and restaurants and people. It is always busy in this area. There is a second location in Midtown.

This was my second time giving this location a chance. The first time I tried Fireman Derek’s in Wynwood, I absolutely loved the pies and cookies, but unfortunately, it hasn’t been the same experience here in Coconut Grove. Last night, after dinner, I stopped by and ordered a chocolate chip cookie and a slice of apple pie. The cookie tasted good at first, but as we ate it, we noticed the center looked uncooked. I politely mentioned this to the staff member who had just served me, and his attitude came off as rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily arrogant. He said, “That’s the way it is,” and that it just needed time to set, or something along those lines. But honestly, it was the way he spoke, was just mean. I was being genuinely kind and respectful. I even left an 18% tip for simply putting a cookie in a bag and handing me a cold piece of pie in a plastic container. Unfortunately, the apple pie was also disappointing. It was served cold, tasted undercooked, and we ended up not eating it at all. I come to Coconut Grove often for dinner and always debate whether to give this place another try. After this last experience, there won’t be any more hesitation, I won’t be coming back. Between the unfriendly service and the decline in quality, it’s just not worth it anymore.

Google
Very poor experience at Farman in Coconut Grove. Matthew, the staff member, was rude from the start. I ordered a simple chocolate and vanilla ice cream for my son. While I was registering for the Rewards app (which they promote), I asked him to give my son the ice cream — under $7 — and I would pay right after. He refused and said, “I won’t give it to you until you pay,” in a very rude tone. I’ve had good service here before with another staff member, but this was unacceptable. Because of Matthew’s attitude, I won’t be coming b

We had an amazing banana de leche pie that was just about perfect. Not too intensely sweet with tons of flavor. This shop has a wide variety of cakes, pies and ice cream. I wish we’d had a chance to try more. Maybe on our next visit.

Google
Firemen Derek’s is so good! I got the Cookies and Cream Cheesecake and it was super delicious and super creamy. Such a good spot to treat yourself.

Nat T.

Google
Delicious cheesecakes and sweets! We tried coconut custard, cookie monster, and red velvet - all were fluffy and just right. The cheesecakes doesn’t taste as heavy as NY cheesecake or as light as Japanese style; but somehow falls in between and just right. Recommend if you’re in the area!

Google
Alright Derek’s is awesome and a regular for us…. But recently I bought their ten dollar brownie and got a full corner piece. This feels crazy for a high end shop! Who wants a brownie corner?! I tried to email to let them know but site has no contact info for private feedback.

Google
The cookies are thick! I love the balance between a slightly crispy edge but still soft, moist, cookie. I had the white chocolate guava cookie. I like guava but it doesn’t enhance the flavor it kinda adds to the sugar content. They also have pie and cakes I would recommend trying and go back again.

Yelp
If you have a sweet tooth... you HAVE to visit Fireman Derek's. They sell so many delicious cakes and guess what. They can make it into a shake! Literally. The cake is made into a shake. We chose the cookies and cream, coconut custard, and red velvet. It was the BOMB. We loved it. Very cute place as well to hang and enjoy. Thank you for the great experience and sugar rush!!

Yelp
First time coming here. The chocolate chip cookie was so good. Extra chocolate chips. We also had their 3s leche cake and that was also good, except it had a bit too much cinnamon for my liking. Not lots of places to sit here but it seems like a place to go and get your dessert and eat elsewhere. The staff were extremely nice and patient. Decorated with Christmas stuff it was great. Will come back to try more things.

Yelp
Fireman Derek's in Coconut Grove serves the best cookies I've ever tasted. The guava and chocolate chip cookies are my absolute favorites--perfectly baked, rich, and bursting with flavor. The variety of desserts here is impressive, but the cookies truly stand out as a must-try treat. A fantastic spot for anyone with a sweet tooth!

Yelp
I love gelato and ice cream as much as anyone, but when you need a REAL TREAT head here. It's so hard to pick, so we got two to split. Chocolate peanut butter and the Cookie Monster. I couldn't pick a favorite from the two, so a split was definitely the way to go. Twice the goodness.

Yelp
So glad the opened a fireman Derek's in the groove! If you're looking for delicious and unique pies look no further. They give you such good portions and you can even buy the whole pie so it's perfect to bring to any event. The banana pie has to be one of my favorites, but I've also never had a bad option here. Location wise, the coconut groove location is a good size and well air conditioned! Inside and outside tables available and street parking all around. They even have find wall art so a pie selfie is a must. Service wise, the staff is friendly and attentive! Parking can be trough since the groove is usually always busy, but still so happy to have this location and you can find both street and garage parking if you look!

Yelp
We heard about this spot in a local food publication and had to give them a try. We were not disappointed with our selection of a slice of key lime pie and pecan pie. We grabbed our pies and took advantage of the sidewalk seating area. Make sure you stop by and give them a try. Enjoy!

Yelp
Everytime we come here we have a great time. The staff is always awesome and the pies are the best in town. My last experience I do have to state the A/C was broken and it was hot in there. Wasn't an enjoyable atmosphere to eat pie or ice cream in. This forced us to leave and take our order to go unfortunately
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place! Not the first time I've been here and every-time I get a pie from here, I love it. I've had the pecan (my favorite) the banana cream, the apple crumble and some others I don't remember. All I know is that every pie I've had here has been delicious and Fireman Derek's remains my favorite pie place. They have ice cream, cookies and cake as well! I'll definitely keep coming back

Yelp
I had always heard about the delicious pies at fireman Derek's, but since my family was visiting, I had to go and try it for myself! I had the cookies and cream pie which was phenomenal ! It had so many Oreo cookies and it was layered with a soft chocolate. So melt and your mouth and so good! My sister had the Cookie Monster that had crushed chocolate chip cookies and crushed Oreos. She loved hers too! My dad tried the apple pie, which was not standout in his opinion, leading to my deduction in a star. Other than that, we loved it! The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly!

Yelp
Came here one evening while in The grove for a nice dessert with some friends. The treats tasted incredible! The cookies are decently priced and tasted phenomenal. The slices of pies are incredibly high but do taste great. They have a first responders discount too which is very sweet to implement for a dessert place (no pun intended). Their coffee machine was unfortunately broken when we were there but overall enjoyed our visit.

Yelp
I heard so much about this place, I had to try it. I got a slice of key lime pie and a slice of red velvet. I loved the red velvet, moist and delicious. I devoured it - a little each night for dessert until all of it was gone from my fridge. The key lime pie I didn't like - good try, but if you've had Kermit's key lime pie in Key West you would know why I didn't like this one. The filling had a fake lemon flavor taste to it and the crust did not taste good either. Service was very friendly and fast. It's a small shop mostly for picking up a slice. They have whole pies and cakes too.

Yelp
A quick review is all this place needs trust me! The cakes, the pies, the cookies, the flan , the TRES LECHES!!! SLAMMMMMIN! My 1000 visits to Fireman Derek's, i tried the everything! TRUST me its a simple pick any of the items there it wont let you down at all! My favorite is the key lime pie, chocolate cookie, and the TRES LECHES! Sheeeeeeeeshh... Its a must! Parking is always a breeze and customer service on 100! SAY IT WITH A PIE!

Yelp
Really creative pie options, we chose something unique to split and were a bit sad that it wasn't thawed out yet, so took it to go and once it thawed out we very much enjoyed the richness of the DULCE BANANA CREAM PIE!! Reminds you of grandma's banana pudding! Service was quick and friendly, the ambiance is similar to a coffee shop vibe!

Yelp
I don't get the hype of this place since all of their pies are extremely sweet. The flan tasted like eating dulce leche. The crack pie is too sweet as well and tasted like baby milk powder. Carrot cake was the only edible cake among 4 that I bought, but still the frosting is overly sweet. Lemon tart has a weird texture, super eggy and sweet. Wasted 40 bucks on some trash. Never gonna come back here. I would give it a 0 star if I can.

Yelp
I absolutely love their coconut custard pie. They have an assortment of delicacies, but my favorite weakness is coconut custard. Who am I kidding? I'm a sucker for all pies. This place is it. A bit overpriced, but worth it, The coconut custard is just the right amount of sweetness, peanut butter the salty contender. Key Lime a must. Again, my alliance is to coconut custard, but the runner up is peanut butter. Creamy, salty, sweet and crunchy... yes. Must try. Great service and cute little nook if you want eat in.

Yelp
I used to come in here constantly/ loved the cookies etc. but it is NOT THE SAME, When I walked in recently I asked to use the restroom and the presumptuous staff said bathroom is for customers only, When I shop here I use the restroom and then I buy something. Go somewhere where the staff treats you kindly, Fuzzbees has cheaper cookies across the street and they are much healthier. Treating each other with humanity goes a long way and the food is not being baked with any love. Gross

Yelp
Stopped in after having dinner nearby. I've had this place on my list for a while now, and was excited to finally give it a try. Everything looked delicious and the store had a cute decor and fun energy. The employees were really nice, friendly, and engaged, which really made the place shine! Great staff! I decided to try the Oreo cookie cheesecake. I would have loved to try EVERYTHING, but prices are on the steep side, so I had to keep it limited. Prices are not listed anywhere which is kinda annoying, so in case you were wondering the brownies are around $8 each, and the Oreo cheesecake slice was $10. The cheesecake was very good, but the slice was small- especially considering it was a whopping $10. I think $7 or $8 is a more fair price for such a small slice. Just my opinion. The brownies were huge so $8 might be fair for that item. The cookies were also huge and I'm curious how much those run. Overall, there was a delicious looking variety of baked treats to suit any tastes, so if you don't mind spending $8-$10 per treat you should stop in to Fireman Derek's. As for myself, the prices were too high and portion size of the cheesecake too small, so I would not return.
google avatar

Carolina A.

Yelp
Fireman Derek's is the best when you're craving cheesecake. I've never had a slice of dessert I didn't like. Their guava cheesecake is my favorite. Tried their apple pie this weekend for thanksgiving and it's amazing!

Yelp
Stopped by last night to satisfy a sweet tooth craving and get a slice of chocolate cake. Upon entering I wasn't greeted and the girl at the counter treated me as if I was a nuisance. I tried to be as quick as I could to not bother them as I understood it was getting late and I felt a bit unwelcome. I ended up getting a slice of their chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. It kinda sucks they aren't freshly cut from the cake and come pre-packaged from the fridge as I think slicing it would lead to a fresher product. The cake was cold and a bit hard to bite into but got a bit better as it thawed out. As a baker, the cake was alright, it was just for a quick fix. I don't think it was worth the almost $13 I paid for as you can make a whole cake for $13 (after ingredient breakdown). Fireman Derek's is by no means terrible but it's just meh and overly priced in my opinion especially considering the service that you receive. It's a cute little shop but hopefully they could get some better staff that are happy to help.

Yelp
When my sweet tooth kicks in, this is one of the first places I think of. I absolutely love Fireman Derek's. Not pictured is my all time favorite pie, the banana caramel. The flavor is so creative and makes my mouth melt just thinking about it. Other favorites include the oreo cheesecake and the nutella pie.

Yelp
As I was sitting across the street at Chugs Diner enjoying my amazing meal I could not keep my eyes off the Fireman Derek's Bake Shop sign. So of course I had to stop by before leaving the Grove. The minute you walk in the smell of Cookies and Pies immediately transport you to your childhood. So many options to choose from all looked delicious. We ended up choosing the Guava White Chocolate Cookie and the Smores Brownie. Probably one of the most difficult decisions of my life because everything looked so good. The cookie was not only rich and gooey but rather large. The guava was just the right amount. For a guava junkie like myself it was definitely a 10 out of 10. But the Smores Brownie was a 15 out 10. Yes it was that good. It was my kids but I kept going back and back for more. It just soft yet crunchy exterior pieces, the marshmallow had that perfect touch of char but gooey pull at the same time. It was definitely a winner. And although we couldn't take any home the Pies and cakes looked amazing. You could get a whole pie of course or grab a to go jar of your favorite pie. Thought that was a great idea. The inside of the store had several perfect selfie spots and the service was excellent. Overall I would say Derek you got a great Bake Shop here and Thank you for your Fireman services. Definitely a must try.

Yelp
I stopped by Fireman Derek's and picked up three dessert options for a dinner party! The ley lime pie, chocolate chip cookie pie and a cookies and cream cheese cake! All were hit and nothing was leftover, however, the chocolate chip cookie pie was definitely the favorite! Can't wait to stop by and pick up a few new dessert options to try! Cute shop in mid cocowalk and nice Customer service!

Yelp
AMAZING DESSERTS. The ice cream is top tier. I am obsessed. Cheesecake was fabulous + service was quick + prices are stellar!
google avatar

Yelp
Came today to try a slice of their carrot cake. I think the price of 12 Dollars for a slice is Outrageous. The cake was pleasant but not worthy of this price tag.
google avatar

Emely R.

Yelp
Food: Yummy yum yum! delicious and fresh pies, cookies, brownies, ice cream, and more! First time trying Fireman's bakery and I am obsessed I don't care if it's 1000 calories a slice Lols. Prices are okay but for the pieces you get, I think it's well worth every penny. Service: The two employees working were super sweet and friendly! Even though they had a line out the door with customers they managed to make everyone leave with a smile on there face (: Ambiance: Cute, modern, and unique-looking shop with a few photo aesthetic images. Love the vibe very hip!

Yelp
Small but lots of variety, we tried several and liked all of them . Very well located and size of portions are good.

Yelp
My husband and I were in the Grove for the weekend and finally got the chance to try Fireman Derek's. We got the guava white chocolate chip cookie, a slice of apple pie and a slice of the birthday cake with chocolate frosting. I'll start with the best....the cookie!!! Omg it was phenomenal. The flavor was unreal, and it was soft and gooey in the middle just how I like it. It also had huge chunks of guava sprinkled throughout. Gets a 5/5 from me! It was $6 which I think is fair since the cookie is massive. Average...the apple pie. I think it was $8 which is a little steep since the slice wasn't huge or anything. My husband said he liked it but I found it had a funny taste. Can't put my finger on it but I wasn't a fan of the pie. 3.5/5 Now the worst....the cake. IT WAS $12!!!! What the actual hell. The prices aren't posted anywhere so we didn't know until the girl rung it up. The cake was on the dry side which I could already tell just by looking at it when she gave it to me. The cake slice looks big but legit half of it (or more) was frosting, so $12 for that is a complete rip off. To be fair, it wasn't an overly sweet frosting at least. 2/5 All in all, we will not be coming back for cake, pie or to try their cheesecake. We would consider returning to get some cookies if we're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yelp
It pains me to write this, but Fireman Derek's has been steadily decreasing in quality and increasing in cost for quite some time. I've given them chance after chance, but every time I'm met with disappointment. Their carrot cake used to be my favorite, but the last time I had it, it was extremely dry and not worth the ridiculous $13 price tag. Same goes for their chocolate cake. While I completely wrote off the cakes, I still held that the pies and cookies were good. And, unfortunately, I can no longer make that claim. Went yesterday and got a slice of the dulce banana cream pie and a sugar sprinkle cookie. The pie tasted artificial and old. The consistency wasn't creamy like it used to be, but hard. I took two bites and switched over to the cookie, which basically just tasted like raw dough. I gave up on both entirely and went next door to Morelias for a paleta. The people that work here are lovely, but I remember the good 'ol days in the original tiny Wynwood location where you'd see people making the pies fresh. Honestly, save your money or go to any of the other dessert spots in Coconut Grove for a sweet treat.
google avatar

Blanca M.

Yelp
I popped in to FD for a quick bite to go and ordered a buffalo chicken empanada. I had walked off and half a block down took a bite only to realize it was ground beef...aahhh . I am not eating red meat temporarily but from that one little bite I can say: it was loaded with meat & lightly seasoned. ⁣⁣ I went back and let them know of the mix up, and they were very gracious, handing me the correct one. ⁣⁣ I was excited about the buffalo chicken--I love the idea of creative empanadas. This one had: ⁣⁣ a great flaky crust ⁣⁣ chicken was juicy unique take ⁣ ⁣ However, all the pie options is what this place is about! Next time I'll go straight for dessert. Until then...⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

Yelp
Amazing pies. Great variety of tasty pies that are expensive but totally worth it! The guava cheesecake is phenomenal. I always stop here when I'm in the grove. Def. Recommend.

Yelp
Cannot believe this was my first time here! My waist line is thanking me for the delay, but my taste buds are saying what took you so long! Fireman Derek's definitely lived up to the hype. I visited their Coconut Grove location while waiting for an event to start in the area. The place was small but cozy. Cute decor and friendly service. With so many options to choose from, I went with the staff's recommendations. I was told Key Like pie was their most popular, but went with the Salted Caramel and Dulce Banana Cream. Both were delicious but the banana cream was omg WOW!... think banana cream pie meets Dulce de leche (so good!). They had a selection of ice cream and cookies to go with your order but 2 slices to go was all I could handle for one visit. I'll definitely be back to try the others like: Cookie Monster, Guava, Peanut Butter, and Grasshopper. Stop in for a sweet treat, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
Manuel dude, that guy is the absolute best! The 3 leches are amazing! Their cookies are the best! No matter what you get, it's worth it.

Yelp
You cannot go wrong with fireman Derek's. From the delicious pies to the cakes everything is fresh and amazing. My favorite is the birthday cake. It brings back childhood memories of my mom's box yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Definitely go here if you are a sweet tooth!
google avatar

Adela M.

Yelp
Yummmmm! Love being in the grove. I'm not a big sweets person but I find myself gravitating towards them lately. There are other Fireman Dereck locations in Miami but like I said, never would I have thought to go. Finally, came to see what all the hype is about and I'm obsessed. Ordered a box of brownie samples and I almost died. Soo good. The magic bar
google avatar

Denise C.

Yelp
The service was fine. I had the cookies and cream and the coconut crème pie. You can't go wrong with cookies and crème the coconut crème pie had coconut shreds in it, I liked that. The place is decorated with bright colors just like you'd expect an ice cream parlor to be.

Yelp

With its impeccable quality, diverse selection, charming ambiance, and attentive service, it surpasses expectations and delivers a truly exceptional experience. Whether you're seeking a morning pastry, an indulgent cake, or simply a sweet treat this bakery shop is a must-visit. Yelp
This is just where you go when you want some pie. I had just had a very large dinner and wanted something sweet. My lame husband kept poking fun of how much I had already eaten but it didn't stop me from making him drive me here to get some dessert. I was impressed by all the different selections they had. I told them I wanted to try different ones. The nice girl behind the counter told me that I can buy different ones at equaled a whole big pie for about $40. That was too much pie for just me so I just order 3 individual slices. I ended up trying their Banana Cream Pie, the Cookies n Cream, and their Key Lime Pie. For my 3 slices I paid $19. I was so happy when we got back to our place. My banana cream pie was the best one. It was so good my husband tried it and ended up eating all of it without my consent. The cookies n cream one was also really good. They key lime pie was also good but a little too tart for my liking. I love that Fireman Derek really knew how to make the crust part of the pie really good. The ratio of crust to filling was perfect. I also appreciated that they had so many different flavors so you are bond to find one you like. The girl behind the counter was really nice and helpful. The inside of the shop is small but clean and casual. There's a few places to sit and quickly enjoy your pie but it's more of a grab and go type of place. Besides their delicious pies they also had cookies and flan. I really want to go back and try their other flavors.
google avatar

Haley S.

Yelp
We popped into Fireman Derek's after dinner one night for some desserts to take back to our hotel. I tried the key lime pie since that's a must before I leave Florida. The pie slices are pricey but a generous portion. The pie was smooth and creamy but not as tart as I like my key lime. I really like to taste that flavor. If you're a fan of a less sour creamy key lime this one is for you! I would definitely come back to try some additional desserts.

Kris F.

Yelp
I do love this place but I guess you gotta call before going. Tonight there was a "kitchen shortage" whatever that means. No desserts but open. 3 workers Weird. Today 3 stars just because I like them.
google avatar

Alexia P.

Yelp
My absolute favorite pies and cookies in Miami. They are quite sweet so a small piece will do. Everything guava is good
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! Staff is helpful and they have such specials! We've already gone twice and it is well worth it. They made a beautiful cake for my parents 40th anniversary. Love them!

Yelp
Finnnnaly found an ughmazing Pecan Pie replacement to the now closed Norman Bothers Produce Market (R.I.P.) to which the bar was set way high above any competition.  Seriously. Fireman Dereks Pecan Pie matches that high caliber of buttery lusciousness that also seems to impart a hint of toffee in the ooooeyyy gooey while the pecans ontop have a perfect crunch that matches the consistency of the crust which the fork goes all the way down to break off each bite to make your mouth go to it's happy place.  Feel free to take smaller bites, take a sip of drink to make that happy place last longer and longer! But wait, there's more!   I really came back for their epic chicken pot pies.  I ordered them precooked/frozen so to stock up to cook at a later point down the road.  Note:  Order and ask them to hold them whilst you enjoy the neighborhood walking around, eating nearby and coming back to pick up when going home!  Worth every penny and even mentioned it to a random patron standing next to me which she was surprised this dessert pie shop sells chicken pot pies! Secret revealed ;) but have to spread the love! Parking? Ok for awhile I have not been a fan of this locaton due to the parking situation, not easy to find parking and also having to pay for it in Coconut Grove just for pies. Main reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 5. It easily earns 5 on all other aspects. Luckily I called ahead to inquire and there is a side alley that leads to a small public parking lot at $5.00 per hour during the weekday afternoon which I visited yesterday and ate nearby. However, if lucky, you can park on the side of the alleyway, hazards flashing to run in and grab them pies quickly. Fingers crossed for you all who dare try this!

Yelp
We were sent here for the best key lime pie in all of Florida. My wife thinks it was really good and she isn't a lover of key lime. I personally give it a 8 out of 10. Great flavor, nothing special about the crust but like everything in this area overpriced. $9 for a piece $40 for the whole pie. My brother-in-law makes better. Later we were told their salted caramel pie is better that the key lime, so would definitely come back for that. They have tons of other flavors and ice cream. Great looking place in the great area of coconut grove. Good friendly service, great pace with excellent looking displays of their products.

Yelp
We were looking to satisfy our sweet tooth. We stumbled across the Bake Shop and it definitely hit the spot. The slices are huge & we were able to split the chocolate peanut butter pie.
