Fireside Bar

Fireside Bar is a friendly neighborhood spot that makes for a nice place to hang out and chat with locals. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, dogs are allowed inside, and there’s a solid selection of beers to choose from. I did try the Moscow Mule, and it was pretty average—not really close to a traditional Mule in terms of ingredients or balance. I’d rate it about a 4 out of 10. That said, this feels more like a place to enjoy beers, dogs, and good company rather than cocktails. Overall, a laid-back bar with a great vibe, friendly crowd, and dog-friendly policy—worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

Whenever I am greeted by a dog I know it’s a great place. We were visiting town and decided on a drink and some football watching. We ended up here and loved the laidback feel that this place had. We had a few drinks and had some conversation with the locals. It’s a great spot for a drink.

Great beer, solid atmosphere. Huge fan of the bartender who let my friends and I eat pizza from outside. Didn't even charge food tax. Love that. Solid 10-15 beers on draft!

Nice place. No complaints aside from the ATM being consistently out of order. I prefer to pay for my drinks in cash as, I'm not one for a paper trail on my purchases. Conveniently, there is a Wells Fargo ATM on the same block 😉. Good bartenders. Nice neighborhood hangout.

What I ordered: a $14 mojito What I received: a spoonful of vodka and sour mix over a glass full of ice, topped with soda. This is what passes for bartending? What a joke.

Great neighborhood bar with a nice atmosphere and good selection of beers and spirits. Not a young scene so my friend and I loved it :) Nice outdoor seats and a clean ladies room! Inside seating at the bar and chairs provide a nice place to meet up after work or have a pre meal drink. They have televisions and seem to be dog friendly.

Great place. A cozy stop on our trip to San Francisco. Fun trivia night. Our bartender, Michele, was awesome. Made us feel so welcome and has great taste in music.

We came to the city for some nice food on a weekday (Duh, south bay sucks). On our way out we saw the Fireside right next to our Muni stop. Looked cool and the vibes were cooler. The fireplace, the doggos, locals chilling and the bartending service was fantastic. The music was excellent too ! 4 cocktails split among the two of us was under 50$ which is still a very reasonable price to ask for in the city.

I like hanging out here, they've got a nice fireplace on a cold day, a little street parklet outside thats clean and friendly staff! They have a good selection of stuff and I've rarely seen anyone stumble on a drink order. Been coming here for years, not sure why I haven't written a review before lol.

Cozy, dog-friendly, local bar with a warm fireplace inside. The resident doggo there is so sweet. The woman bartender was weirdly snarky while I was ordering. I asked her about a specific whiskey and she said they didn't have it, so I asked if they had a more standard whiskey and she was like yeah duh, we are a bar.. it was no big deal, just weird. I was having a hard day and didn't want to deal with the sarcastic sass. $21 + tip for a beer and a mixed drink. Went back another time and got an IPA on tap and the gentleman who helped me was much more chill. $9 + tip for the beer. Overall nice vibe and a small outdoor area.

Came in with a group of 6 on Thursday night- completely empty inside with maybe a few people- and the bartender who was a complete asshole yelled at us "I NEED IDS FROM ALL OF YOU NOW EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT DRINKING." This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had and believe me when I say this- I truly hope this place closes down and fails. If I could rate this a 0, I would. Like another Yelper said, "If you're not a regular -- aka someone reading a yelp review of this bar -- this isn't the place for you."

I walked in to grab a drink and watch a college football game with my girlfriend and there was only one bartender working. Although it took her a second to acknowledge us, it wasn't an issue for us at all. Until she approached us and without even saying "hello" or "what can I get you?" she says "do you know or do you not know?" in a very rude tone and seemed almost annoyed ?? Left immediately. Horrible way to speak to customers!

Came in to get a drink, and left shortly after! The bartender was so ungracious in the way she spoke to my boyfriend and I. Greeted us very impatiently, while mid task. We completely understand when it's busy and that getting to every customer takes time, that's not an issue! But we don't appreciate being spoken to like that when we just sat down. Completely unnecessary and unfriendly.

The Fireside is definitely a neighborhood bar. A Pint and a whiskey is a mere $16. In addition to the bar, the seating consists of small wobbly tables, a few sofas, and one high top. Be mindful of the tables, as I lost a bit of my pint due to the uneven table. FYI, this place is loud, and because of that, I probably won't bother with a return visit unless it's in the afternoon. Regardless, it's a clean and friendly place.

One of my favorite places. Friendly staff and regulars. Can make almost any cocktail you can ask for with a decent selection of other drinks as well. Sometimes loud, but always fun.

Forget cat cafes, it's time for BARK Bars! If you enjoy having drinks and giving doggos belly rubs, this is a good place to be on a Friday night. On busy nights there can can be 3-5 dogs lounging in this bar. This is my favorite local bar - I live close by and have a dog - we like to come here on weeknights for a nightcap or happy hour. The ambiance is very cozy - a warm fire place with leather couches, red walls and dim lighting. A jukebox that allows you to queue music from your phone. The staff are friendly and are "local-oriented" - meaning they like to establish relationships with the regulars. If you aren't a regular and come to this bar you may notice a "change in demeanor" when they service you - perhaps they are more concise and serious - this doesn't mean they don't like you - you are a new customer and typically that calls for more formal behavior. I think that some can read into this behavior-change as perhaps the bartender being judgmental or rude. On busy nights you may need to be prepared to wait for service - and the bartenders really appreciate it when you bring empty glasses to the front! The rosehound and margaritas are quality drinks Love this place and the bartender Slader is awesome!

Place is nice a cozy. Their drinks were really good and the people at the bar were nice. Turnover within the hour of patrons.

Don't come here on a Sunday. The bartender is rude and obnoxious, very entitled, and told myself and my niece to not come in because he thought we were drunk when we barely mentioned a joke about his vape, Being that he was outside, smoking with an empty bar inside you would think he would like customers. I like the bar but if I ever see him working, I will not come in and I am a neighborhood customer.

A bit of a walk from my place or I'd be here weekly. A mellow place for a drink with friends or with something good to read, at least at the hour I usually happen by. Cool mid-century modern without trying too hard.6 Bar staff will chat or leave you be, as you prefer. And, of course, a fireplace! (The one thing I miss from my home in the mountains) Kudos to Lisa for keeping it Real!

This is the most perfect beautiful bar! I live a block away and really this bar makes this already perfect neighbourhood even better. And the best thing about Fireside is our wonderful bartender Slader, super professional, fun and kind. Great conversation and drinks. We can't wait to come back!

Nice cozy bar with a roaring fire. Sweet resident Labrador. But whomever does the hiring for bartenders is completely unaware of what being a good bartender entails. Saturday night around 7 pm. Not crowded - 4-5 people at the bar. The bartender was unable to do her job of bartending. She was rude, entitled, and took 15 min to make 2 cocktails. And then acted like we were asking too much of her! Two drinks! In a bar! That's her job! So many other choices in the city. Sad since I like neighborhood vibe of the place. Probably won't go back if I see her working.

A long wait at San Tung means an hour or so to kill. I looked up some bars in the area and was able to find this place about four blocks away. I walked in and it turns out I stumbled into their happy hour (1-7pm). I also walked in to find some furry friends so it seems like they're pet friendly as well. Right when I walked in I felt this sort of cozy comfort which is always a good feeling. I ordered the Evan Williams Old Fashioned ($9) which was a solid old fashioned. My second drink was the Templeton Rye Refresher ($10) which was good and refreshing as the name suggests. Fireside Bar seems like a cool spot with some TVs and even more locals. Everyone there seemed to know each other as well as the bartender. It's a good place to lounge around with some drinks and friends in a relaxing setting. Also, some reviews mention that it was cash only. When I went they did accept cards so that's nice!

Our favorite neighborhood bar! The ambiance inside and in the parklet are fantastic. On a cold and foggy day, it's nice to be by the fireplace. On a sunny day, you can enjoy a beer or cocktail outside (the mezcal cocktail is my favorite). We love Lisa and the bar so much, we decided to host our wedding after party here! Everyone was accommodating & at the very end of the night we were so happy to have some dogs join us in the celebrations.

Came here on a Saturday night and got treated like trash by the bartender. Truly the rudest interaction I've had in a while. There's plenty of other bars in the neighborhood worth your time. If you're not a regular -- aka someone reading a yelp review of this bar -- this isn't the place for you.

Awesome dog friendly bar. Normally a good crowd. Everyone's pretty chill. You can bring in food like pizza from Pasquale's across the street. Good selection of beers and bartenders know their stuff around cocktails. Nice comfy seating around the fire and some parklet seating outside. Great neighborhood joint

My girlfriend and I closed out another bar, but wanted one more round of drinks. Stumbled into Fireside Bar on Friday, May 4rd around 12:45am. There were a fair amount of people here, but we still managed to find two seats at the bar. We were drinking Jameson at the other spot, so decided to do the same here. Got two pours of Jameson neat. One with a ginger back for my gf and a water for me. The pours here were a good size compared to the last bar. (They served their Jameson in a shot glass.) Not sure how much each drink was, but the total charged on my credit card with tax and tip was $17, so I'm guessing both drinks were $14? The atmosphere here was very lively, so we were able to have a conversation with the roommate via video chat. (My gf and him haven't seen each other in forever.) I know, we were that annoying pair talking on our phone the whole time. But no one gave us any sh!t which I appreciated. Everyone was just doing their own thing. Though I'm sure there were some people silently judging us. Good thing the bar was noisy. Fun place to close out Thursday night. It had been a while since I saw my gf, so we had a great time catching up. So glad Fireside allowed us to have one more round before the night ended.

Read the reviews and thought I would see for myself if the bar really did treat newcomers like garbage. And surprise, surprise they do! The bartender made sure to fill up all the other people at the bar before acknowledging me standing front and center. Once he did ask what I wanted, without even a glance in my direction, he stared at me like I was an idiot when I ordered a tequila + lime juice on rocks. Pretty standard drink where I'm from but he looked at me as if I asked for a Frappuccino. I know it's hard to mix two liquids but man oh man he pulled himself through the trying task and provided a pretty decent pour. And it was only $7. So I wont complain too much. But maybe just ask for simple beer or some spit if you want to help make the bartenders job even easier.

I wanted this place to work out as it is so close to my house, but every time I am disappointed. Pre-pandemic they had a drink menu (haven't seen it lately) but unless it comes out of a can, bottle, or the tap, they can't make it if it requires more than 2 ingredients (including their specials). The cocktails are almost undrinkable. They did check vax cards and there are friendly dogs...the only nice things I can say about them. So closes yet so far away...

Probably one of my new favorite bars for this area. Met with a friend here and was pleasantly surprised to find that this is a dog friendly bar. Although I didn't bring my pup, I'd totally bring her next time. They have lots of seating inside and I really like the dim lighting. Service was really friendly and affordable. Everyone inside was also super friendly and my friends dog made lots of other doggy friends on our Friday night adventure. I loved that this place doesn't get too crowded like many bars do for Friday night. I would totally come here again and have always walked by but never thought about going inside. I wouldn't quite consider it a dive bar but it's definitely a nice place to grab a quick drink on the weekends or after work!

Came here with some girlfriends, were locals and got the pleasure of meeting Slater, unofficial therapist, wife husband, and nurse husband. God bless his soul. Michelle makes a good Margarita, together they make a great team. My friend and I always come on our girl dates. I can't complain, the drinks are good, they are very gracious in kicking us out at at closing.

Highlights: don't expect shit if you're not a regular. They don't give a fuck about you. Longer version: We were first told to keep to our area so the server wouldn't have to deep clean other tables. Then the server told us that we had to have our butts in seats so take the seats from the other table. She claimed that butts in seats is the law, it isn't. Then my wife got bitched out by the bartender for taking extra seats and triggering a deep cleaning. My wife tried to explain the situation but he was a total dick about it. I was in the bathroom and overheard the server cover her own ass and not mention what she had told us. Additional flavor: Regulars are allowed to go inside to get drinks. We were told to wait at the door and watch them get served first. We received three times less attention (measured in drink orders). Last word: When she brought the check, the server was super nice and called me sweetie. Thanks. You're a peach. Sarcasm emoji. Go to the Shamrock. Way nicer people all around.

Slater welcomed us into his warm and inviting bar. The cocktails were tasty and the music was superb. We live around the corner and this is our new go to bar. So glad they were able to survive the pandemic. Thank you for all you guys do.

OK night. Could have been a blast if it wasn't for our Intoxicated bartender who forgot who ordered what drink. You'd think bartenders would be sober enough to do there job :)

I was there to celebrate my friends birthday with 12 or so friends the second I walked in the bartender yelled at me to give her my ID and vax card. When I showed her them she told me to get out of her bar because she didn't like me... WTF I was literally there for less than 30 seconds, never been there before. The bartenders name is Katie; brown hair, tall and likes to yell. Super rude don't get a drink from Katie. Y'all just lost 12 customers and the bar was already pretty empty.

Met a super cute boy named Alex here. He's originally from I'm Dallas. Nothing came out of it but whatever! It was flattering when he sort of asked me for my number.

Walked into this bar to kill some time and was immediately met with sexist and degrading comments by both the bartender and 2 male patrons at the bar. I had asked to use a phone charger, and was told "oh, there's one at my house if you want to come over" and "let me take you to dinner and I'll get you one" I ended up staying and bought a beer because I desperately needed to charge my phone. Two women came in a bit after and I overheard the bartender say if they "gave him a pretty smile" he'd make them the right drink. Seriously. What year is it. This shit is not ok. Talk to every person who walks in the same way. This is not a safe place for anyone who isn't a cis man.

Worst bar ever... Very in San Francisco.. It feels like a GOP meeting wanna be punk rock but not vibe. I would never ever go here. People working here think they are better then everyone. Bartender told me she would turn the jukebox off if she didn't like my song choice. Also wouldn't turn jukebox off for us to sing happy birthday :(

Came to Fireside from out of town and was not disappointed. The vibe was fun and chill, lively but not obnoxious. Drinks were really good, and after struggling to decide what I wanted, (which I'm sure was annoying) Erik was able to customize a drink to my liking which was a plus. Loved the atmosphere and the music was freakn good too. Would definitely recommend :)

This is my go to neighborhood bar... I absolutely love it! They can make fancy drinks or simple drinks. Best bar in the inner sunset... stop in for a drink, you won't regret it. If you do come in, I hope it's a night that Ava the neighborhood lab is there... if you're cool enough she may even hangout with you for a bit, while you sip your drink.

Terrible service! When asking about drinks and their cost, I was quickly told that I was crazy and would no longer be served for my inquiry. Later found out it was because my tip was insufficient and therefore I was deemed unwanted.

Great bar on Irving street in the inner sunset neighborhood. They have an amazing outdoor area right now. We came at around 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday and there was no wait to get a table. Bartenders and staff were super friendly and accommodating. The drinks were poured strong and definitely reasonably priced. Will definitely be back again soon!

He took away my virginity. My bar virginity that is. His name was Fireside bar. My Yelp friend, Ben T., and our other friend, Kevin S. KIDNAPPED me from my kitchen as I was cooking Bak Choy! (yeaaaa, I tend to be kidnapped a lot by my friends... x.x) It was literally my first time at an actual bar! Yes, I am a noob and I just turned 21. Dont judge me. Being that it was my first time, this bar was very welcoming and cozy. I felt like it was just a chill night at home with friends sippin on drinks made by a friendly and talented bartender. It was very classy yet homey and relaxing all at the same time. Keeping in mind that I'm freshly 21, my tolerance for alcohol is low, so i needed a drink that was super fruity and tasted nothing like alcohol. I got exactly that here! Amazing. The bartender, which I didn't catch her name was wonderful.loved the drinks. She wS working on 8/3 the day before my birthday and she made amazing drinks and gave me a birthday shot. It's the perfect place to go have a drink while you wait to get into San Tung for the best Chinese food in San Francisco

Cc's accepted. *They don't serve food but you can bring outside food in. *Non-pretentious, mixed crowd. Saw a handful of couples PDAing in the two top on a Saturday night. One lady was kissing her dude all over his neck. Awkward. *Homey meets dive bar vibe with center fireplace. *Internet juke box. Cc's accepted. *One negative: it's super loud when it's crowded and the music is bumping. Not good for furbabies since they have sensitive hearing. Best to bring your furbaby on the weekdays or early on the weekends. *Restrooms are decently clean.

Fireside Bar was fun on Cinco De Mayo because they had promoters from a tequila company who gave out free shots, but it is not somewhere I would come back to on a regular day. Some of the drinks were great and unique, but others did not taste good. The service was also not great because we felt like we were waiting a long time for everything. I'm not sure if that's because my friends and I are impatient or if they were actually slow, but that is how we felt that day. The area that surrounds Fireside Bar is really chill. It's a part of the city that I definitely recommend checking out.

This is the classiest bar I have ever been to. Tim told me about it. Try the bloody mary there. Super fresh ingredients.

Because: --Great bartenders: Cool/interesting/fun folks who know their stuff. --Comfy: It's not too fancy, it's not too dive-ey, it's just right. --Good crowd: Nice mix of cool regulars and occasional/1-timers. --Fair prices. --Not a sports bar, but has TV's and a projection TV for big games/local games of note. --Right in front of N-Judah stop (easy to grab a bracer before jumping on).
