Fireside Burien - Review - Burien - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Suppose you have super cool Midwest relatives who are solid cooks, but also happen to be interior designers. Fireside would be their happy place. The walls of this mid-century-inspired spot are covered with warm wood accents, taxidermy, and vintage beer signs, with a menu to match. Fireside serves Midwest classics like tater tot hot dish, and fried walleye coated in Ritz cracker crumbs, which comes in either sandwich or basket form. And while the smashburgers don't have much smash to them at all, there are a few decent Happy Hour deals, which includes a creamy artichoke dip. If you’re not hungry, just sit at the bar and order a Minnesota Mule." - Nate Watters

Burien’s 11 Best Restaurants

"For locals, it’s no surprise to see Fireside on a Burien best eats list. It can be summed up in one word: cozy. Yes, indeed, there is a lovely fire going, which, especially during the colder months makes a great companion to a few plates of comfort food and some friends and laughs. Atmosphere is the name of the game here, and the ambiance compliments the food perfectly. Fireside offers many options to warm your bones, like fried coconut prawns, chicken stew, or a thick Philly Cheesesteak. Come in Wednesday after 4 p.m. for prime rib night and brunch on weekends from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m." - Laura LeMoon

The Best Burgers in Seattle

"Fireside Burien bills itself as “serving Midwest comfort food and hand-crafted cocktails with a vintage vibe.” Giving some geographic forgiveness, the burger of choice here is the Oklahoma onion burger. It’s smashed but still juicy, topped with American cheese and lots of caramelized onions. The only other ingredient might be the most important one: yellow mustard whose tanginess rounds out the ensemble." - Jay Friedman

If you’re anywhere near Burien and haven’t checked out The Fireside, you’re seriously missing out. This place nails the perfect mix of cozy and cool. From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with warm, retro vibes—think velvet booths, wood paneling, vintage beer signs, and yep, a real fireplace. It feels like a classic Midwest tavern, but with that laid-back Pacific Northwest charm. The food? Total comfort. The walleye fish fry is legit—crispy, golden, and super fresh. The tater tot hot dish is exactly what you want it to be: warm, cheesy, and nostalgic in the best way. Their smashburger and Reuben are also top-tier. Everything feels thoughtfully made but still approachable and unfussy. Drinks are on point too. They’ve got a killer cocktail list with some fun Midwest-inspired twists. Definitely try the Chicago Sour or the Minnesota Mule—you won’t regret it. But honestly, what really makes The Fireside special is the vibe. The staff are friendly, the music is great, and it somehow feels like your new favorite local spot from the very first visit. Whether you’re grabbing dinner, catching up with friends, or just looking for a cozy spot to chill—The Fireside delivers every time. Highly recommend. This place is a gem.

Google
I loved this place! If I lived nearby, this would be my neighborhood hangout. I want this to be the place where they know my name. Welcomed as soon as we walked in. They seated in the best spot in the house. The service and food were so amazing I will be raving about it for years to come. Thank you Skip for a super fun dinner. If you are traveling make sure you stop here for dinner, drinks, brunch, whatever. Don't miss out!!! I will be back and I will bring friends. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 more stars.

Google
We enjoyed the atmosphere at Fireside Burien clean, inviting, with a cozy corner booth reserved for us. Service was friendly and efficient, and prices were very reasonable. The steak sandwich and smashburger were both hits. Fish and chips were just okay, and the beet salad had too much balsamic and greens for my taste. The date cake was a bit dry, but they happily brought more sauce. Overall, a pleasant experience and worth a visit!

Google
Unassuming from the outside, very warm and inviting on the inside. Cozy like a lodge, especially with the fireplace going. Brunch menu was varied and delicious. Probably the best beer cheese I've ever had with the country potatoes. While the sausage gravy on the Hangover Burger made for a challenging delivery to mouth by hand, it was still delicious. Will be back for sure.

Google
Came for the famous smashburger…but…the churros tres leches cake!?! (Rotating item) INSANE!! They have a rotating menu that changes the first Thursday of the month. Service was excellent. Drinks looked good. Food, 10/10.

Google
Came here for brunch and everything was excellent. The decor is cultivated "uncle's den chic" with fun, classic beer signs (Strohs! Schlitz!) and a dark, dim fireside room. The classic American fare is upscale without being overpriced or overengineered. The menu has affordable additions like fried eggs and bacon or sausage. Definitely a great value. Service was overwhelmed by their customers for a while, but they seemed to work well as a team.

Google
This place has a few really interesting cocktails. The menu is lacking during lunch hours, so in the future I'll be coming for brunch or dinner. As for the food, I really like the presentation and smell, and the flavor is excellent. I recommend their black pepper cocktail and diablo steak bites as they go really well together.

A great new discovery in Burien. Awesome design, charming and a restaurant that invites you to stay awhile and chat. Sean was our amazing server. Good food, drinks and atmosphere.

Yelp
This place is like going to your friend's dad basement in the 80s and has good vibes! We like to come here for drinks, dinner, or both! Great to meet friends here too. Service at the bar and dine-in are great and friendly. I've never had a bad experience here.

Yelp
Disappointed to see a 3% charge on my receipt after payment was processed because I used a credit card. Wish that was told upfront to us. Got beignets and a chicken sandwich. Beignets were good. Chicken sandwich was crispy but the sauce lacked depth. Crispiest tater tots ever! Mood lighting for sure, it sets a mood- would be perfect for a date I think. Staff was nice.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times now. It's better than average. The smashburger and tater tots are the reason I've been back more than once. The rest of the menu is okay, but nothing to write home about. It's a little on the spendy side for what it is. The rotating taps usually have something pretty decent on them. I had a strawberry stout the last time I was in. I was tastier than it had any right to be. The rotating alcoholic slushie is usually a good bet as well. I really liked the Dark And Stormy one. Service can be hit or miss, but is generally a little on the slow side. I really like the ambiance and decoration of the place, but I always like the dark wood study vibe.

Yelp
Every meal I've had here has been delicious. The drinks are equally as good. Everything is seasoned well and comes out fresh and hot. Cute and cozy decor inside. A neighborhood gem.

Yelp
Had some time to kill before heading to the airport so decided to get something to eat. This was actually one of the few places open at 9pm on a Tuesday in this area. Bar atmosphere. Dim ambient lighting. They had some TV's with the MLB playoffs playing. No audio though. Decent table sizes. Fit our party of 7 no problem. Service was friendly and great. They had a few beers of draft. I got the fireside IPA. It was decent. Double smash (3): Not much to this one. Couple patties with cheese. Bun was soft. That's all it was. Patties were decent, but nothing to write home about. Got a side salad with it which was decent. Oklahoma Onion Burger (4): This was better than the smash burger! The onions gave it a very nice flavor. That smash burger was simply meat and cheese. They charred this one the same way too. Skip the smash and get the oklahoma. Chicken Pot Pie (4): This was decently sized and flavorful. Crust was nice. Entire table shared this and everyone enjoyed it. Kids plain cheeseburger (4): I was amazed that my daughters burger was basically the same size as my smash burger at half the cost! Same ingredients too. I'm getting the kids burger next time. Overall, decent joint for some food and drinks.

Yelp
Love this place. Great chill ambiance. The decor is kind of old school retro classy but not lesst bit pretentious . Staff has always been great. Cocktails excellent, great aged Manhattan. Tried it for brunch today.. This is great, i feel like if word got out about brunch there would be a wait. Chicken fried steak was perfectly tender, didn't even need a knife to cut it. Lovely white gravy. Reasonable prices! ($14 at time of this, post inflation everywhere else is $20+). From the street it almost looks like a dive bar but don't be fooled, it's classy clean and cozy. Hidden gem in Burien.

Yelp
My cousin and I were looking for a place not too far from my hotel and also having to do so quickly with a sweet crying baby in the car. Lol Found this place from the Yelp/reviews. Seemed like a popular place for the locals. Ordered the following... Grilled Salmon Salad Bristol Bay wild salmon, avocado, tomato, cucumber, red onion, shredded carrot, & creamy green goddess dressing. Famous French Onion Soup Baked, gruyere cheese, parmesan croutons, & green onions. Prime Rib Dinner (Available on Wednesday only) chose sides broccolini and loaded baked potato Everything was delicious! I enjoyed trying everything! The onion soup was so good and filling that I could have just had that for dinner. Lots of food left over and definitely shareable.

Yelp
Amazing meal from drinks to dessert! Highly recommend the Salisbury steak - 15/10 AMAZING. Not to mention, a cozy, intimate atmosphere and Sergio's amazing service. Thank you for a perfect date night! We will be back!!!

Yelp
The smash burger is why I come here, and at brunch time, the hangover smash burger. This is a hidden gem! Midwest take on food in the downtown Burien area! If you want chill, family friend, date night, or just want to dine alone, this is a place for that! The staff is great, the drinks are delicious. I enjoy coming here and meeting the most amazing people. You should check it out.

Yelp
First time visit for me and two others and we fell in love. This is a Midwestern theme restaurant or bar and that has the feel of a low lit romantic supper club. We were there on super bowl Sunday and we had perfect service. The food was delicious and comforting. We tried one of the specials which was a creole shrimp dip with pita bread. We also tried the swedish meatballs which will be a must every time I visit. I had the French onion soup which was a little different for me and that it didn't have as much of a beefy broth flavor so much as possibly a red wine flavor, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I also enjoyed the beet salad where I was given the option to add protein so I went all out with steak, and I was not sorry. We also enjoyed our cocktails which consisted of bloody Mary, margarita, and I was pleasantly surprised to find they had Irish whiskey selections other than they played out Jameson. Apparently, they have Dead Rabbit, but they were out, so I went with Dubliner and really enjoyed it. The cherry on top is the beautiful fireplace and then dining room which combined with good food and good drink makes for a cozy evening.

We love this place! We have been a few times now and always have a lovely evening with great food and tasty cocktails.

Yelp
After a 12 hour shift my companion and myself searched for and drove to the nearest possible food haven that happened to be Fireside. I called ahead because it was Christmas Eve. They were open and ready to welcome us in. We arrived and were sat very quickly. At a cozy table near the fire. Upon looking around there was a definite vibe. Decorative heads of dear, The singing bass staple, there was even a twinkling small tree. Val appeared in an instant to serve us and what a wonder she was. We Ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees as well as the key lime pie. I can't report a bad combination or mal-flavored dish. Everything was fresh, seasoned and made with love. Thank you Fireside. You felt like home!

Yelp
Happy restaurant week! My friend and I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, our waiter was friendly, wine was yummy & the food delicious! Salmon dip was great & I loved they served with pita and cucumber, the chicken pot pie was hearty & hit the spot for a chilly rainy evening. Date cake was 10/10

Yelp
Great little restaurant/bar tucked away in Old Burien. The restaurant is very clean. Service was great: polite and friendly staff, food was quick to arrive, and the staff were open to making adjustments when possible. The menu is somewhat limited but what you would expect for a bar menu. We really enjoyed their wings - they were perfectly crispy and delicious. My wife was a big fan of the key lime pie. And did I mention that they have frozen margaritas?

Yelp
First time visiting Seattle for my long-awaited Kurt Cobain pilgrimage, and I booked an AirBnB in a town called Burien. A town which I had never heard of, nor even knew how to pronounce the name of. Coming out of the airport starving, we decided to take the advice of our AirBnB host, and go to one of his favorite local restaurants, Fireside. When we went in, a really nice gentleman greeted us, and then sat us. Our waiter Tanner, was really friendly, and even gave us some advice on other good restaurants and coffee shops to try while in town. The food and service were so good, we decided to come back on our last night in town as well! That's when we met Amy, another awesome server, who was really down to earth, not to mention attentive as well. Something about the atmosphere in Fireside drew us in. I don't know what it is, but it's very inviting. To top it off, you have awesome service from people like Amy and Tanner, and delicious food to back it up! I'm going to miss this place, but if I'm ever back in town, I'm definitely dropping in to Fireside Burien again.

Yelp
Food is always good... we have enjoyed many offerings from the menu. Service is great. Friendly, efficient staff. Fantastic ambiance !! Cool bar area with sports on, if that is your vibe... or sit in the dining area where it is dark and cozy. Private booths and also tables in front of the fireplace. My go-to spot for a quick, casual happy hour/dinner with friends or a fun meal with out of town guests. Very family friendly, too !

Tina B.

Yelp
It was ok just ok I give it 3out of 5 service was ok the food was actually good just not the best day to go it was closing time so got to consider going a little early

Charles C.

Yelp
Great to be able to enjoy happy hour in the dining room. Cocktails were exceptional, food was outstanding and service was superb. Sergio was attentive and helpful with the menu since it was our first visit. Fisherman's dinner and Fireside steak were excellent and perfectly prepared. Was disappointed that Cincinnati chili was no longer on the menu but there were lots of other very inviting options. The only negative was that they initially tried to seat us at a booth in the bar, when I come in for dinner I expect to be seating in the dining room, not the bar.

Yelp
FIRST REVIEWER FOLLOWS UP. Well, it's been a while since I was "first to review" during the post pandemic. Since that time, I have been back to the Fireside many times. It is really one of our favorite places to hang out. The staff is always friendly and attentive. We love sitting at the bar and chatting with the staff or watching sports on one of several TVs. That said, the place is not without a few issues. The bar seats are really uncomfortable. I actually have it from an unnamed source who tells me this is by design to turn over customers. Oye. The food is indeed hit or miss. I recently tried the chicken and waffles. Have you ever been to Roscoe's in LA? Then you know what excellent chicken and waffles is. This ain't it. The chicken AND the waffles were both overdone. Note to chef; "If it's anywhere past golden brown it's overdone". I do however recommend the pretzel and brats. Goes great with a brewski. OK then. I think you will have a good time at the Fireside. , but. Chicken and waffles is not their forte. Excelsior!

Yelp
Very cool interior... we had outstanding service. Saturday evening and found easy street parking. Nice bar menu - nice salads - love any place that has tater tots!! Solid place with a cool vibe ... we will try it again .

Yelp
We stopped in right after getting into town and picking up our rental, and they happily accommodated us with a hot meal and a cold beer. It's a nice space! The fireplace indoors is certainly cozy and sports a bit of an old-fashioned vibe by way of the taxidermy heads mounted on the wall above. Booths are nice and roomy and well-maintained. Offerings are straightforward but tasty. The pretzel is certainly a highlight, served with beer cheese kept hot via a little candle beneath. We didn't try much food to know well enough how it all ranks, but what we had was nice and comforting after a long day of travel. Also, many thanks to Skip, our server. What a delight.

Pris L.

Yelp
Our first time to this place, Very nice brunch next to cozy fireplace ! Good food, affordable prices, friendly service (though very busy when we left) We will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, friendly service and super fast. Mostly Midwest style bar food and at first glance you would think there aren't any healthy choices but their salads are really good.
google avatar

Wennie H.

Yelp
Food is good and service is friendly. The only flaw is that the food takes a lonnnnggg time to get to you, probably due to how busy it gets but I thought it was interesting that the server took about 15-20 minutes to check in, take your order, get you the check, etc. each time. We were there for an hour and a half because it took so long for the server to come back each time.
google avatar

Brittany M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, server was so friendly and skilled, delicious food and great cocktails. Would absolutely return and have already recommended Fireside to others!

Yelp
Excellent place! Especially the bartender, Pete... amazing guy! Friendly, helpful, super knowledgeable, but, most important, FUCKING AWESOME drinks!!!! (We had dinner there hours ago, I'm not drunk.) My husband loved his salad - who has ever said that? Only negative - not the best sandwich I've had...

J M.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place due to the reviews, but dang....the food is bad. We ordered Buffalo wings, beef dip sandwich with tots, and smash burger with fries. I had the seasonal slushy as well (which was a peach bellini.) The wings and the bellini was the best things that we ordered. The wings were perfectly fried and seasoned, but had the Buffalo sauce on the side. The smashed burger patty tasted unseasoned. The fries also tasted unseasoned. My husband's beef dip was both greasy and flavorless. As was the aus jus dip that came with it. So disappointed with our experience, especially with the amount that we spent. The environment was very loud and not cozy at all like one of the reviews here mentioned. It was difficult to hear any conversation. Our server was great and attentive!
google avatar

Yelp
It's my first time here and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. We went for a late nite dinner, immediately as we entered the restaurant it felt like we were transported to a cozy lodge, the ambiance was amazing considering we were just in Burien minutes from our home. The food was also amazing but i highly recommend it for the ambiance, just chill by the fireplace with a drink or 2.
google avatar

J Z.

Yelp
The portion is small, comparing to the price. Typical American burger, chicken, and salad. Recommend the beets salad.

Yelp
This place is either a hit or miss. The food is straight to the point, basic main dishes and solid appetizers. They have happy hour weekdays from 4p-6p. For the service, if you're seated upstairs and Hoang (idk if spelling is right) she will take care of you. Bar seating also has great service. The area around the bar, not so much. The host sat us in downstairs section around the bar. Waited 20mins to be greeted, got tired of waiting so went up to the bar to order. The host was a mess, she told us that the waiter was running late and to go back to our table so she can get somebody else to take our order. Waited ANOTHER 20mins, yet nobody came. I'll tell ya, they were not busy at all. The server Sway or Swade FINALLY decided to show up and he was not pleasant. He already seemed pissed and annoyed to be there. He was late to his shift, didn't check on his tables and if we didn't go up to the bar to try to order a 2nd time, we've probably be waiting for an hour lol. The other servers and staff will watch and see us waiting but not one decided to help. The staff is nice, just no communication and service is lacking. The food is nothing extraordinary to be dealing with bad service. I recommend sitting in the booths because their chairs are very uncomfortable. Their monthly specials is also a hit or miss. The braised pork shoulder was one of the worst things I've had there. The gravy that tasted like store bought powder was extremely salty and took over the whole dish. You could not distinguish anything on that dish. Pork, squash and potatoes all looked brown and gray, same color and I have no idea why they decided to put the crème sauce. You can't taste it with how salty the gravy was and it added to the ugliness of the plating. Had to send it back. Not worth the $20.

Virginia L.

Yelp
Food was great. Until the waitress upset with the tip. Giving 20% and my son give another $20.00 cash . Still not happy.

Just S.

Yelp
I'm going to start by saying the food was on point! Best smash burger! My one star is for Valarie our waitress. While she started wonderful, ended up pissed off because we only tipped her 10% of a split bill. The bill was 200+, we split the bill and left zero for tip on the first tab, the second bill we tipped the 20%. She started to explain how that was only 10% of the bill which I understood. She then tried to explain to me I'm only leaving a 10% tip, which again I knew what I was doing. She then said, "I don't make $20.00 an hour." With all the other babbling from her, we decided to give her another $20, but she didn't want it and placed jt back on the table. I took it and brought to the bar and left it there. I told her that her condescending tone, explanation about the 10% and her expectations was uncalled for. I've been going here once a month for the past 4 months for its smash burger, but today will be our last time. The entitlement of Valarie was uncalled for and unacceptable. Her service was not 40 dollars worth. She didn't even not once asked if we wanted water, more ketchup, or more drinks. We had to ask her. And it wasn't even busy. So yes Valarie, that was the reason why you were only supposed to get $20. I really hope the owner sees this because there are two sides of the story. Just sayin

Yelp
One of my new favorites. Everything I've tried has been to my liking and things are reasonably priced here! It is a smaller joint so I do recommend reservations or getting there earlier if you're worried about finding a spot/have a bigger party. I've been for dinner time and brunch, both menus do not disappoint. I feel like this would be such a good date place or intimate dinner. Has a very casual but put together vibe. Their cocktails are made perfectly! I highly recommend their espresso martini or their mimosas during brunch. Definitely give it a try if you haven't already! They also have parking in the front which is always a plus!

Yelp
First time going here, ordered chicken tender basket with an extra sauce to go, was told 10 mins. Great, got there 15 mins later, food still wasn't ready. I was asked to pay and again wanted to confirm the extra sauce as they charge you for it. Wait time was 25 mins. Chicken tender- very overdone almost burnt, super dry, close to nuggets than tenders. Sauce fairly watery... extra sauce not included but charged for even after confirming I ordered it with the person who brought me my food. Stars-0 Chance of me returning - 0

Yelp
This place has a decent variety of food options, though the menu isn't its main strength. The real standout is the drinks and cocktail selection. I've personally tried the Prime Rib Melt, Smashburger, Wings, and Artichoke Spinach Dip Au Gratin. While the food was good--not amazing--the Smashburger was my favorite, with the Artichoke Dip coming in close behind. Despite the food being just okay, the drinks were excellent, with several memorable specialty cocktails. It's worth a visit to check out the drink offerings, and I'll definitely be back to review their brunch!

Yelp
Went here late at night a few weeks ago cause it was the only thing open. Not only was the ambiance so calm for a bar, but the service was amazing. We had the sweetest waitress and the food was really good. I didn't have high expectations for late night bar food but the wings, burgers, and fries were all very flavorful. They offer mixed drink and mock-tail options
google avatar

Brittany H.

Yelp
The space is trendy, romantic, & laid back - easy to get to in terms of being central to Burien downtown. Came here for happy hour & had a nice time. The artichoke dip is good & wine was tasty. The server was friendly & service was attentive. I hope to come back to try more of their dishes.

Yelp
My sister and i stopped in for lunch today and had the nicest time. Everything from the ambiance to service was perfect. Our bartender Delaney B was very nice. Food was also super delicious and true hidden gem !

Yelp
I've been in 3x now and every time has been excellent food and selection of menu options, excellent service and a cool atmosphere. I usually post pictures of the food but by the time it hits the table, I'm digging in. They have a great bar serving signature cocktails. I measure the bar by the signature cocktails they serve and Fireside Burien ranks on top. I can't wait till the next time.

Yelp
I left hungry and very worried. Dine at risk. My chicken pot pie was sour, it had a sour flavor in it, and when I would talk to my server about it they refused to offer an explanation or find out how my chicken pot pie came to be sour. My server treated me like I was crazy or making things up and took it from the table and off my tab and just didn't want to talk about it any more. It was nice to see it removed from tab, but money was no longer the issue, food safety was, and he just dismissed any follow up questions about it. Are they pre-making meals and leaving them in a fridge for too long? Is their fridge not keeping food cold anymore? Do they have sous chefs going rogue and squirting lime juice into pot pies? What the heck is going on in that place? With the way they treated me and froze me out the door, I am only left to wonder. There are so many great places to dine in Burien, I am happy to strike this from my option list forever.

Yelp
A Midwestern vibe, food, AND hospitality in Seattle of all places?! I came here before a flight out of SeaTac with several other Midwesterners (IL, MN and WI were all representin'). Upon entering, all the wood, taxidermy, and antique beer signage on the walls gave me goosebumps. I felt like I had immediately been transported to a Midwestern supper club--if you know, then you know. The all wood bar was absolutely gorgeous in design with underlighting. You also can't help but notice the old school beer fridge! The dining room was super cozy with booths and even a wood fireplace burning. Perfect for all occasions: a date or the family get-together. They have some truly Midwestern dishes on the menu that I was excited to see: Pretzel Fondue (paired with beer cheese and grilled kielbasa), Swedish Meatballs (tender in a creamy gravy), Cincinnati Chili (ahhh, memories of Skyline Chili!), Tater Tot Hot Dish (umm ya, a classic dish to bring to any family occasions), Ritz Cracker Crusted Pan-seared Walleye (one of the common white fish found in the Great Lakes). All that was missing were my grandparents playing board games and a crazy aunt named Kathy. Every dish we had tasted like it was made with love and fresh. Side note: I also highly recommend the Spinach Artichoke Dish! The cocktail menu also blew me away. They have many of the classic cocktails yet with a fun name and a little something-something to make it unique. I had two drinks, Magic Spa (Gin, aperitivo, lemon juice, basil syrup and smoked bitters) and the Seasonal Slushy which was fun and refreshing on a surprisingly warm Pacific Northwestern day. I wish Fireside existed when I previously resided in the area to help me deal with the Seattle Freeze. Nonetheless, I will be sure to return each and every time I visit Seattle from now on.

Yelp
I've been in there two or three times with my husband and each and every time the food has been made horribly! Fish and chips overcooked and then in denial by the chef. I will say that the young lady working as a server really tried and was very apologetic and offered some good ideas for replacements. I can't think of her name but I believe it begins with the letter A.

Yelp
Chip that works bar Sunday is amazing! He recommended joining the prime rib dip with mushroom gravy. I was skeptical, but I'm now a believer!

Yelp
Food has taken a dive of late. Been let down the last few times. Service and cocktails are always good. May need to give this place a break.

Yelp
Decided to try a new place for breakfast today, and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't too busy when we got there, around 10 am, greeted by the server and she sat us right away. Super friendly, answered all of our questions. My husband ordered chicken fried steak and I ordered biscuits and gravy. The CFS was really good, the biscuits needed a little more gravy, but still good. There was another worker that came in after we got there, not sure what his role was, other than talking and talking. Our server got a little busy, a table with 4-5 people and another small table. She was busy with drinks etc with everyone in the restaurant. The kitchen had finished our food (we could see the food sitting) and had even rung the bell twice. The dude that loves to talk walked in the kitchen, could see the food sitting there, but decided to talk to the kitchen staff! Came back out and proceeded to talk to a guy sitting at the bar! HELLO, help deliver some food, help your co-worker out! It literally would've taken him 20 seconds to drop the food off. That was seriously annoying, our food sitting there for approximately 10 min! I felt bad that our server was so busy trying to take care of everyone while her chatty co-worker didn't do a lot. We're going to go back and try dinner at some point.

Yelp
I've been to fireside several times. Always love this place. I had the bone in pork chop with baked potato and everything on it. That was one of the tasting pork chops I have ever had. And the potato was extremely tasty also.

Yelp
Fireside is a victim of being too popular for its ability to deal with a packed house. We've come a few times and when it's late in the afternoon before 5pm the service, seating availability and experience is great. You get the place you want to sit; the service is prompt and we've had a great experience. On the other side of the coin, if you come when it's packed you can be turned away at the door, the seating is limited and it's all about them maximizing their seating and has nothing to do with you. The food is great, and we really like the fried shrimp and I love the Smashburger and tater tots. My wife likes the chicken kabobs too. We have a few cocktails from the bar and it's a lovely evening if you hit this place at the right time. Definitely recommend coming to Fireside during the happy hour and before the evening after 5pm. Afterward, it mostly on the weekends it gets a bit chaotic, and your experience may be sacrificed.

Yelp
Fantastic food and a hidden gem in Burien. That Smash Burger was unreal. Excellent Ambiance
