Chicago’s best restaurants with heated patios | Eater Chicago

"Nestled beside the Metra tracks in Andersonville, the Fireside offers an ample selection of bar food, including pizzas, burgers, salads, and ribs, both smoked and fried, and a large heated patio in back, out of sight of the train." - Ashok Selvam

Where to Warm Up in Chicago’s Best Restaurants and Bar With a Fireplace | Eater Chicago

"A bar called the Fireside seems like an obvious inclusion on this list, but here’s the twist: there are actually two firesides at this cozy Edgewater spot, one in the indoor dining room and the other outside on the all-season patio. Sit by either one and enjoy a meal of respectable American bar food, including pizza, ribs, and burgers." - Naomi Waxman

Fireside Restaurant And Lounge Review - Andersonville - Chicago - The Infatuation

"This Ravenswood spot is appropriately named because of the large, roaring fireplace in the dining room, which is useful when defrosting becomes a part of everyone’s daily routine in the winter. It also has lots of things that make it a fun place to hang—a good rotating line-up of beers on tap, patios both in the front and back, a decent number of TVs, and even some darts. The food isn’t great—mainly things like sandwiches, burgers, and fried appetizers that function best as a buffer for the drinks that everyone is consuming. But it’s all generally inoffensive enough that when you’re sharing a round of drinks with a solid group of friends, you won’t really care too much that your burger might be a little too charred." - John Ringor

Not bad at all. My review is biased upon the food I ordered. The food I ordered was good. Wasn't bad yet didn't stand out much. Which is fine. It's a solid place to eat food. The ambiance is great. Not crowded yet a warm dining homey feel. The food I ordered filled me up well too. I ordered the Cajun meatloaf sandwich with sweet potato tater tots. I haven't had meatloaf in over a decade and quite frankly can't recall the last time I had meatloaf. So thought to try it when I saw it on the menu. The Cajun meatloaf wasn't spicy at all to me. So I would have liked it to taste spicy. Not a big deal though. It tasted fine. Didn't stand out in taste as being amazing yet was fine. I always opt for sweet potatoes as a side instead of regular fries if it's an option. Almost never have seen sweet potato tater tots on a menu so that was unique and they tasted fine. Obviously taste deep fried but not bad. Overall my meal was filling. They have a decent sized menu too and overall portion sizes seemed to be big too. So it was good. The Buffalo cauliflower appetizer was good too.

My wife and I came here for dinner with great friends. The shellfish lovers shared bang bang shrimp appetizer, which they completely enjoyed. Then we ordered our dinners. Wife had a burger stuffed with feta cheese, I had the Cajun meatloaf. She loved her burger and side of tater tots. I loved the meatloaf seasoned perfectly. I did not find it spicy but that didn't matter, it's great. Definitely will come back to try the ribs or fish and chips. I think this is my first complete 5 start for a restaurant, bravo Fireside!

Great beer selection and classic neighborhood pub grub vibes in here. It’s not a destination but if you’re around kinda place, it’s also giving London pub/ eatery. Patio is still pretty popular and people wait in line for it, we sat at the bistro tables. They have a rotating draft menu. We had the beer cheese fries it was pretty good.

Oh, Fireside. This would have been a 5 star review if I had only kept my visit to brunch. My brunch experience here was amazing - I had the breakfast sandwich and a life-changing banana cake (better than carrot cake). The service is great and the patio is roomy while also being cozy. Dinner was a lesser experience than brunch mainly because the food was not as flavourful. The burger was not special, the fried ribs were small, but the blackened salmon salad was good. The plus to Fireside is they are open later than most places and I wouldn't pass it up for some late night eats. Overall, it's a recommended visit for brunch and a maybe for dinner.

A couple of years since I ate here. Great service but the orders came with small portions like the fried calamari. We loved the barbecue ribs.

Food was excellent as well as the drinks. The patio is a really nice place. Definitely recommend the biscuits and gravy or the fried chicken sandwich. Bloody Mary was very flavorful

They saved me by quickly bringing a Pepsi & cherry juice for my low sugar complication. Meatloaf is tasty without the sauce. The ribs are really good.

First time trying this restaurant after a year of passing by it every day. I ordered the ribeye steak and was extremely disappointed. The steak has almost no seasoning and very little flavor. The steak also had no sear and only grill marks. It had a lot of fat on it as well. The side of fries was also pretty underwhelming, they were very hard and not crispy at all, basically over fried. For $44 dollars this was an extremely disappointing steak. You could get better steaks at longhorn, or golden corral for less money, and you get more food. Please don't get this overpriced and bland food.
