The Best Desserts In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"The Basque cheesecake bubble burst in Miami long ago. Every restaurant is selling one. The lemonade stand down your street run by 6-year-olds probably has one. Edan’s puts them all to shame. And that’s fitting, since Edan is the best Basque restaurant in town. The slice has appropriately burnt edges and a gooey center that slowly flows onto the plate like molten metal. Not only is it Miami’s best, it could stand its own with its cousins in San Sebastián." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

I mean it was alright! My expectations were way too high. Maybe mine wasn’t done all the way and it was a little runny. I purchased a medium size and it was small and thin for what I paid and comparing to what I’ve seen on their web page and IG. Fresh fruits pairs great with it. Would I buy again? Probably not. The experience was mild. But to each his own. The pick up btw is at a Munch lab, no bag provided, not a bakery.

Delicious!!! Some of the reviews crack me up. Runny? Yes please! Junior’s NYC? Completely different style of cake. It’s like comparing custard with ice cream. This is a very good representation of a Basque cheesecake. Will be back for sure.

Overall not what I was expecting. I'd have to say living in NYC, Junior's cheesecake has spoiled me. I was really expecting a creamy cheesy delicious cake. I ordered the traditional mini ($18). I didn't quite understand the flavor, till now. There wasn't a real cream cheese essence. It tasted perhaps like goat cheese (like I believed mentioned in another comment), tasted a bit watery, the creamy center was different. If you love a firm cheesecake, this may not be for you. Note, it is small, hence, mini. Overall it was a mediocre experience. Heard about this place on Instagram, but didn't live up to the hype for me, unfortunately. And also, this location is not a store front. It's a kitchen space with kiosk in the front. Your order is placed on a shelf and reception hands it to you. Fairly simple, however, the kiosk has tips enforced, that I somehow couldn't remove. Felt a bit like a rip off..lol But oh well. And be ready for the traffic and drive. I wouldn't return here.

The Vasque Cheesecake has its home in MIA! 🌅 For a quite some time now, Caterina and Domingo have claimed and won the ownership of the Vasque classic cheesecake 🥮 in Miami with a signature twist! Their unique recipe mixes the mild, buttery flavor of Brie with traditional cream cheese 🧀. This treasured family recipe gives life to the fierce alter ego of Spain’s most demanded dessert. The sensorial experience starts when you slice the consistent exterior that then elegantly floods the plate it stands by decoring its surroundings with its explosion of creaminess. As you taste its exquisite soft and burnt texture, your paladar will be delighted with the mix of savory and sweet tones. There is a visceral satisfaction in the contrasting layers of this perfectly executed version, that will spark your appetite to try more and more. It’s this seamless aesthetic and taste that served as the core inspiration for many other variants like: Ferrero Rocher 🌰, Nutella Biscuit🍫, Kinder Bueno, Oreo, Peanut Butter 🥜, Truffle, and my own personal favorite, Pistachio! As a devoted traveler to Spain🇪🇸, in the hunt for the most elaborated and unique version of this Vasque dessert, Frisbrûler staples its authenticity and delivers what is to me one of the BEST 💯 formula I have tried so far. Caterina and Domingo, thanks for sharing your passion and love ❤️ through this one of a kind sweet 🥰 indulge experience!

I'm not sure if it was this particular batch or what, but the cheese cake wasn't up to the hype in the reviews. First, the batch that we got had some goat cheese in it —the website says it only has cream cheese and brie/camembert. Traditional cheese cakes don't have goat, and in the case of my wife she couldn't eat it because she dislikes the strong goaty flavor of goat milk. Second, when discounting the goat cheese, the outer part of the cheese cake tasted off, a bit soapy if anything. Two stars for these flaws. As a Spaniard I've eaten many Basque cheese cakes in my life, and I wouldn't say this would be a contender for the best cheese cake at all. I suggest the team keeps perfecting their recipe, and especially disclosing all the ingredients used because there are people that have allergies or conditions that need to be able to trust what the website says. I ended up giving away most of the cheese cake, as it's not worth indulging in it —each cheese cake has 14 servings, and each is ~400 calories. I commend the idea of the business though. The world needs more cheese cakes. Good luck.

I’ve had a few Basque cheesecakes in my time. Best one I’ve had so far was in Madrid. But this one is a close second. It is delicious!! Unfortunately they’re only in one place right now in Broward county, hopefully they will be in Ft Lauderdale soon. Worth every calorie!

Hands down the best cheesecake i’ve ever tried in my life. You probably have an idea of what a good cheesecake is, but this Basque Cheesecake is simply out of this world. Gotta warn you though, once you take your first bite, it is impossible to stop eating!!

Was extremely disappointed. My family and I were traveling from out of state and excited to try their cheesecake but upon arrival we were shocked that its not a bakery location but instead had to order it online in order to pick it up. The lady at the front desk was very unhelpful as to what the stock was and the website shows mini versions that were not at this location. Very misleading.
