Fischersund is truly one of the best fragrance houses I’ve ever experienced. Their perfumes have become my secret ingredient to any outfit. My favorites are No. 23, 54, 8, 101, and a few limited editions that sadly are no longer available one of which remains my top fragrance in the world. I even make sure to plan my layovers in Iceland just so I can pick up a bottle. The history of the building adds to the charm, the handmade bottles are beautiful, and I love the little scar detail on each one. Fun fact: Fischersund was created by a family of Icelandic artists, including musician Jónsi from Sigur Rós. The whole concept is about capturing Iceland in scent from the mossy highlands to smoky driftwood on the shore. Another fun detail is that each bottle is hand-finished, so no two are exactly the same. Fischersund captures Iceland perfectly, not just in scent but in spirit. A true treasure.

I've received a gift from one of my friends who lives in Reykjavik and liked the scent so much. Finally I came to this lovely store. I highly recommend perfume here if you like a scent that you can't smell anywhere!

We had the opportunity to experience The Ultimate Fischersund Experience. The afternoon included a scent journey and exhibition, a sampling of Icelandic Schnapps, and a special gift. I was impressed by the complexity and distinctiveness of their scents, which triggered memories of various life stages and events.

I am very much an enjoyer of perfumes, I have my own little collection. Staying nearby, I spotted Fischersund on google maps. “Hmm this looks nice” *checking the website*. We booked in on the scent journey tour. Our host (Jon I think it was?) was excellent in inviting us into the world of the fragrances, conveying the essence, meaning and memory behind them: that’s what makes these fragrances so special. I cannot commend Jon enough for single handedly managing other customers as well as our tour. It was a really great and memorable moment on our trip to Iceland. Thanks Jon and Fischersund. I went for no23. To all of you, go try and buy some of this great product and experience the tour, you won’t regret it.

Fantastic sensorial experience in Reykjavik. I’ve wanted to visit this shop for a while, but all my expectations were positively surprised by the moment we crossed the door and a genuine aromatic ambience welcomed us. We were guided by Dyrfinna, a young fine artist, through the stories and tones of Fischersund scents. Really especial experience and conversation, we got unique Icelandic gifts for others and ourselves. Don’t forget to check the exhibition downstairs!

Fischersund is a must see for anyone (even those not interested in perfumes/fragrances). We booked the “tour” through their website which I would highly recommend - all of the current fragrances are explained to you over a glass of shnapps and you get an in depth view of the process behind the scent notes. My partner and I both noticed that while walking around the city, we smelled many of the same notes that were composed in the fragrances at Fischersund, due to their use of local plants. The fragrances we got will always remind us of Reykjavik :)

I admit being a star struck Sigur Ros/Jonsi fan was all it took to get me to Fischersund, but after almost two weeks in Iceland, it remains one of the top treasures I’ll take with me. SO much more than a perfumery, it’s an experience that weaves together all of my favorite things: a family-owned business, with scents that conjure up the memories of their home and youth, harvested from the earth, with poetry and music to accompany each blend. Everything is intentional, meaningful, connected, visceral. Even the old house that has been lovingly restored to house the store is a work of art, down to the original exposed nails in the beam. Jon was so incredibly generous with his time, giving us a performance, not a sell. (But, yes, I bought something.) He had us close our eyes, pause, inhale, and listen as he magically transported us into the details and poems of each scent. One made me cry! A perfume! We all fell in love with this tender soul and the exquisite beauty of Fischersund.
