Mexican Seafood Chain Fisher’s Opening First U.S. Restaurant in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"Opening in August 2022 in Little Italy, a large-scale restaurant devoted to Mexican-style seafood is taking over the enormous 8,700-square-foot space and patio; this will be Fisher’s San Diego, the chain’s first stateside location for a brand founded more than 30 years ago and well-known in Mexico with 29 upscale restaurants (including several in Mexico City). The new branch is part of a global expansion plan that began earlier this year with the brand’s first European outpost in Madrid, Spain. The company operates its own seafood processing plant and transportation network to deliver fresh catch to each restaurant, and the Little Italy site will feature an oyster and raw seafood bar and a menu that ranges from tiger prawn aguachile and spicy tuna tostadas to fish tacos, grilled king crab, and seafood pastas." - Candice Woo

The vibe is laid back and the food will smack you with flavor. This is a great CDMX chain and I highly recommend it. We enjoyed this way more than we thought we would.

Fisher’s Roma is a fantastic spot in Mexico City for those seeking authentic Mexican flavors and a truly local dining experience. Known as a neighborhood favorite, this restaurant delivers delicious seafood dishes with a casual, welcoming vibe that’s perfect for lunch or dinner. To kick off the meal, every guest is served a comforting fish soup—a nostalgic touch that reminded me of a similar experience at a Mexican restaurant in San Diego. The star of the menu for us was the fish taco, elevated by their house special sauce that added an irresistible burst of flavor. Another standout was the grilled octopus, perfectly charred and seasoned, showcasing the skillful preparation that defines this restaurant. One of Fisher’s charming quirks is serving beer in a duck-shaped boat, a playful signature that adds character to the experience. Despite the language barrier (the staff primarily speaks Spanish), the service was warm, attentive, and efficient, making us feel right at home. Dining at Fisher’s Roma felt like discovering a hidden gem—a local treasure offering authentic Mexican cuisine with a focus on fresh, flavorful seafood. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in Mexico City’s culinary scene beyond the usual tourist spots, this is a place worth visiting.

This place is lively and busy ! Wanted to try ceviche but ended up getting octopus and whole red snapper. Octopus was amazing, fish was unfortunately too dry. Drinks are ok. Overall for the price could be a bit better. Service was relatively swift. Looking forward to trying the ceviche, the menu is very extensive with good selection. They also have the oysters bar

Great food and great cocktails. This must be one of my favourite places in Mexico City. Their margaritas as some of the best I’ve had in Mexico and every dish on the menu is something to write home about. The great thing about Fishers is that it’s not overly expensive like a lot of other restaurants in the area.

Amazing food with affordable prices and a lot of space. We had the ceviche peruvian, carpaccio de salmon, tostada de atun, taco de pescado, and taco de camaron. All very tasty and fresh. They also bring complementary fish soup that i didnt try because it had shrimp.

Google
Great spot for breakfast, lunch or brunch all about fish and seafood. I usually go here for the chilaquiles con camarón (shrimp), but all food is really good and the consome perfectly cleanses your palate and repels any hangovers.

Fast service. Staff is friendly and efficient. It was my first time at any Fisher’s and it did not disappoint. Food is tasty, so are desserts; not too expensive, maybe the shrimp slightly overpriced but tacos, tostadas, and everything else within range. The venue is probably what I liked the least. Noisy and too big, but at least that guarantees a seat with minimum waiting time. I would definitely recommend it for seafood in Mexico City.
