Where to Eat and Drink in Little Italy

"The first stateside location for a well-established group of restaurants centered in Mexico City that’s so serious about seafood that it has its own system of seafood processing and transportation to deliver fresh product. Guests are greeted with cups of flavorful seafood broth, a precursor to a menu that includes oysters, tuna carpaccio, shrimp tacos, sea bass, and octopus." - Candice Woo, Helen I. Hwang

First time at Fisher's yesterday. Staff was attentive and pleasant. They had great suggestions, and yes, your mezcalita drink is pretty good. The fish soup%broth is a must try, guys. And even though i wasn't sure about my "arriera"entry-it was good. I wasnt a fan of peeling the shrimp while eating. The coconut creme brulee was nice and tasty The reason I gave it a 4 was because the fried calamari appetizer was a no for me. I would not recommend it to anyone. The bread coating was good, but the calamari itself tasted raw and left a bad taste in my mouth. I did let the staff/manager know at the end of our dinner. Otherwise, i hope to go back again

Very quality food and drinks during Happy Hour. We had the spicy tuna and fish tostadas - the fish were very filling. We also had a quac which was fresh and the shrimp taco. The margarita and mezcalita were also refreshing. Thanks to Gizeh for the great service

We ordered oysters which weren’t fresh at all! Unfortunately we had to return them. Despite the staff insisting on the freshness of al dishes it didn’t much up. Ceviche was tasty, Greek salad with tuna was nice as well. The manage’s gesture not to charge us for dinner was appreciated however the overall experience has left us hesitant to return! The place is definitely overrated

A lot of bad reviews here I was nervous coming but also starving. Came with my dog at 3pm on a weekday and was greeted very nicely and they brought out water for my dog. Oyster was fresh, the waitress ordered me a fisher’s shrimp taco vs Baja shrimp taco and when it came out I did point it out just to clarify but didnt mind having the Fisher’s style instead. To my surprise she also brought out the baja shrimp taco as complimentary that was very nice of her even though I said it was ok. Overall i had a really nice late lunch here and all the food tasted great thanks!

It was a pleasant experience to dine at fishers. We were a group of around 30 people who went for brunch and considering the size of the group the service was quite good. The food we ordered was quite diverse, but I have a chance to try the bacon and cheese omelet and chilaquiles with steak. Both dishes was okay and quite descent, however they were not the tastiest as some people might expect. The ambiance was also nice.

Location & layout of restaurant is great. You’re welcomed with complimentary fish broth upon seating. Menu offers wide array of dish options. Grilled salmon made a great entree, some of the other fish dishes were lacking freshness/balance of flavor. I don’t recommend oysters at this location. The manager noticed the plates that hadn’t been revisited for consumption and offered positive customer service and acknowledgement.

Nestled within San Diego, Fisher's is a culinary gem that traces its roots to a visionary, Don Simon, who revolutionized Mexico's seafood landscape. Stepping into Fisher's San Diego, one is greeted with an inviting, open-concept space boasting a chic midcentury-style ambiance and a spacious L-shaped bar, setting the stage for a modern coastal dining experience. The menu, a symphony of contemporary coastal flavors, tempts with a delightful array of seafood delights. From the tantalizing raw bar to a medley of seafood tacos, pastas, soups, and entrees, every dish showcases Fisher's commitment to freshness and innovation. Among their standouts are the famed Fisher's tacos, the invigorating aguachile with roasted habanero sauce, the crispy and flavorful fried rock shrimp, and the tantalizing spicy tuna tostadas. Notably, all seafood is sourced fresh and meticulously processed at Fisher's dedicated production plant, ensuring quality and taste. My visit during happy hour unveiled the charms of Fisher's, where the amiable waitress treated us to their renowned seafood chowder soup—a tad salty but undeniably delicious. The feast continued with an assortment of delectable dishes including chips and guacamole, sashimi tacos, and carpaccio, each showcasing the vibrant flavors of the sea, impeccably fresh and flavorsome. As evening descended, the restaurant pulsed with diners enthralled by the lively atmosphere and attentive service. Fisher's emanates an ambiance that beckons patrons to linger, enjoying not just the sumptuous fare but also the captivating vibe and warmth exuded by the staff. In conclusion, Fisher's San Diego delivers an enticing fusion of fresh, inventive seafood cuisine within a trendy, welcoming space. While some flavors might lean towards the salty side, the overall experience resonates with exceptional flavors and an ambiance that invites patrons to savor each moment, making it a must-visit destination for seafood enthusiasts seeking a contemporary coastal culinary journey.

Update: came back with a friend and was sadly disappointed in the decline in overall quality. The Caesar salad was nothing special. Staff brought our entrees out while we were still eating our salad and attempted to set the plates on top of our food. We sent the entrees back and told them to bring them back after we finished the appetizer. They did, and the food was cold. They then reheated them in the oven. The food was okay but definitely not worth the prices charged. So disappointing. Original review: (5 stars) Upscale Mexican seafood restaurant with excellent service and an extensive menu. The whitefish carpaccio consisted of razor thin slices of fresh fish dressed in citrus and soy and garnished with masago. It was a delicate yet flavorful starter. The mahi mahi in olive oil, capers served with fresh tomatoes and red onion lightly marinated in lime juice was exquisite. Our other fish dish was dressed in a soy based sauce with grilled onions and serranos and was hearty and earthy. We loved the saffron rice accompaniment as well. The flan was creamy and delicious. The restaurant just opened and plans to add to the menu as well as offer brunch. The wine and tequila list on our visit was a bit pedestrian. Also offers a wide variety of spirits. Looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
A friend suggested this place and when I looked it up, I got a little excited. This is the first US location, with around 33 in Mexico. I discovered this company when I visited La Paz; it was the first restaurant I ate at there. With a few trips back. Loved it in MX, so was very much looking forward to trying it here. It definitely did not disappoint! The owner is super friendly and very humble. He did everything to make our visit extraordinary. We sat on the patio under heaters. Very magical with the string lights overhead. The inside layout is very open and inviting. Everything we tried was amazing; very fresh and decadent. The flavors were spot-on and the fish/beef was cooked to perfection. The service was very good, though for about the first hour we were there, we were the only ones. LOL. Apparently when summer hits, there are lines around the block. It's been a very long time that I have gone to a restaurant and everything was perfect! Brought me back to my time in La Paz and is my new favorite restaurant in San Diego!

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place, as we had seen one in Mexico City that was absolutely packed all day every day. We had walked by this newer San Diego one several times and always thought it looked so cute. Well, unfortunately we left disappointed. We chose to sit at the bar, as we wanted to do some happy hour snacking. There was no one else at the bar, but it still took awhile for someone to grab us drinks. They had cloth napkins, and my husband's was very obviously dirty when he sat at a clean spot. I ordered their mezcalita, which was the highlight of our visit. It had tamarind, and was quite good. We were offered some seafood broth, which was good as well. Then we ordered 3 dishes to start - guac, caesar salad, and tuna tostada. There were only 2 or 3 tables seated in the restaurant at that time, but it took quite some time for food to come out. Our server immediately said she would bring more chips for the guacamole, and she did, but those chips were in a paper bag and were stale. The guacamole was ok, but not much in there besides avocado and tomato. The caesar salad was absolutely drenched in dressing, and it seemed there was a lot of mayo in the dressing. Between the 2 of us, we couldn't even finish it, because it was just too thick. The tostado was ok, but the way they spiraled the cucumber made it hard to bite into without pulling all of it off. Before finishing our food, we had finished our drinks, but no one came to ask if we wanted another. We had thought about trying the tuna quesadilla and some tacos, but after not being impressed by our first round of food, we opted to not order anything else. We were going to get one more drink, but we had finished food, drinks, and our water, and were still waiting for someone to come back. At that point we were just ready to go. I didn't realize it had so many other locations. Maybe that explains how they can get by with just being mediocre. I am sad to say I probably won't be returning.

Yelp
I'm sad and fear Fisher's won't make it unless they make a few changes. I really want to give Fishers all the love, as this restaurant is great in Mexico, BUT the price vs portion is no bueno. I ordered smoked fish tacos. 3 little street tacos came out. Yes they were delicious but for $19, serve with a side of elotè or chips & guac. * My advise to the owner / management - you'all need: * a 5 item all day happy hour food menu, * 3 drinks a $5 (ok, $8) 1) House Margarita 2) House Sangrita 3) House Michelada * a walk up, express order / grab and go area on State St, for people walking by with dogs or walking down to Waterfront Park * a few room dividers to close off areas of the restaurant for larger groups or to block off Empty Tables when the restaurant is slower , you can literally buy three or four panel folding screens on Amazon for under $50 . Good luck Fisher's, my free Consulting advice is worth thousands.

Yelp
Avoid, avoid, avoid. Where do I begin. I went there for lunch with 2 colleagues. It was completely empty. Should've been our first clue. Food took an exceptionally long time considering no one else was in there, but in retrospect we would have been better off if it never came out. It's not that the food was bad per se, like the watery guacamole with 8 chips or the middling calamari taco. Well the empanadas were bad. Both the cheese and the fisherman's empanada (mahi mahi & fish) had the same "base" according to our server. If that base is "awful," then yes, yes they do. They were liquidy and grainy at the same time. The beef tacos had a weird taste to them. But the kicker is they bring you your food on plastic plates, with paper napkins, and my personal favorite, you have to get up to get your own salsa. So for a beef taco the size of a dime that costs nearly $5, where a server brings you your food in a seemingly upscale designed restaurant, you get plastic plates and have to get your own salsa. The odd facts on the menu like how they sold 530k+ fish tacos in Mexico City, was bizarre but definitely more interesting than the food itself. Wouldn't come here ever again and I don't see this place lasting the year, and probably will close by the end of the summer.

Yelp
Fisher's Restaurant in Little Italy offers an exceptional dining experience. The service is outstanding, making you feel welcomed and attended to throughout your visit. A standout dish is the Cochinita Tuna Cazuela, which is super tasty and packed with flavor. Highly recommended for a delightful meal!

Yelp
This restaurant is beautiful! We had a large group here and shared everything. I got a yummy mocktail with a taijin rim. A complimentary broth was brought out for us, which was a nice start. We shared the white fish tiradito, ceviche, Simon's shrimp, fresh oysters, salmon habanero-lime style, octopus, rockefeller oysters, rock spicy shrimp, petroleros shrimp, and a couple of other dishes. A few of the dishes had too much sauce or mayo to my liking, masking the flavor of the fish. The seafood was fresh and flavorful! We didn't initially order much, but were still hungry, so we ended up trying almost everything on the menu! I'm not sure if they added more items since my visit in May. For dessert, we got the flan and blintzers! Both desserts were great and not too sweet. Service was very attentive. I had a great time and would love to come back and try other menu items!

Yelp
First time here was a great experience for my moms birthday ! We enjoyed everything we ordered. The tuna carpaccio, octopus , fisher fries and tuna steak with mashed potatoes. Our server was amazing super friendly! I've gone back more than a handful of times because the food is so so good and fresh ! I absolutely love the consomé you get at the start of your meal. The music , the ambiance , the whole place is perfect for any occasion. Want to dress up for date night ? yes , Birthday dinner ? Absolutely ! Casual lunch or dinner yes and yes . I highly recommend.

Yelp
Made reservations via the Yelp app just alittle after noon. Once we arrived we were greeted and seated promptly. It was a beautiful clean open restaurant. The seats were so comfortable. And the service was superb. We we're greeted with a gentleman who asked if we wanted to try the seafood soup which he poured on a small glass. The seafood soup was bit salty for my taste. Our server shortly came to greet us and took our orders. We had the Rockefeller oysters, sea food platter and the spaghetti alfredo shrimp. Everything came out fast the seafoods were all fresh and delicious. The spaghetti alfredo was so creamy I just couldn't get enough. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

Yelp
We came for Mother's Day brunch. We were seated right away and was treated to a complimentary seafood consome. It was delicious. The decor is modern and the ambience was relax. The food came out quick and they were delicious. They gave the mothers complimentary flans which is a bonus. Definitely will come back here.

Yelp
Fishers San Diego in Little Italy is the go-to destination for seafood lovers who crave the freshest and highest quality seafood. If you're looking for a refreshing drink to quench your thirst, we recommend trying the Pepellin cocktail, a delicious mix of cucumber, lime, and sprite. For those who love a bit of spice, the spicy tuna tostada and shrimp taco with creamy chipotle sauce are excellent choices. And if you're in the mood for ceviche, you can't go wrong with the Peruvian fish ceviche, which is made with citrus, tiger milk, avocado, onion, cilantro, and mahi-mahi. But if you're truly looking for a unique and flavorful experience, we highly recommend trying the Rocky Spicy Shrimp dish. This dish features battered fried shrimp stuffed with ginger, cream cheese, spicy mayo, and soy sauce. It's then topped with chives and fried carrots for an extra crunch. Every bite is a burst of flavor that you won't soon forget. Overall, Fishers San Diego is the perfect place to indulge in delicious seafood dishes that are both fresh and flavorful. Whether you're looking for a quick snack or a full meal, you're sure to find something that will satisfy your cravings.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. Incredible food. We had the best waitress, Gizeh. Highly recommend, a must. The salmon carpaccio and seafood soup is unbelievable as is the broth they serve you when you sit down.

Yelp
It was a delight to find that Fisher's - that Mexican staple restaurant - is now in San Diego. This location preserves the same fantastic flavors and service that make it a great spot to meet with friends. Try their Tuna Tostada, Petrolero Shrip, Peruvian Ceviche Tatemado or their shrimp taco. You won't regret it.

Yelp
An amazing coincidence! Walking down the street to get my daily coffee fix I saw this restaurant sitting in a lonely corner of the outskirts of Little Italy. Glancing at their menu I noticed they had breakfast. Decided to give them a try the following morning. Needless to say I was greeted by a polite young lady by the name Gizeh she immediately offered us a table. We were given a welcome seafood broth to get the party started. I ordered a café Americano and seafood chilaquiles in red sauce. My date ordered shrimp enchiladas and beans. I must say .. for both of us it was an explosion of flavors !! Food was delicious and well worth every single 5 star review!! I highly recommended this restaurant. We need to support more restaurants with this type of service and quality before we get stuck with mediocre food and awful service !

Yelp
Amazing food. Honestly didn't know what to expect and was totally impressed. Only oddity is the dead bolt on the men's bathroom ‍ thankfully I didn't need to use that one.

Yelp
I like the way Fisher's is turned away from the tra-la-la of the touristic frenzy that is India Street in Little Italy. The official address of the restaurant is on Beech Street, but the front entrance actually is on the street behind India---I think it is Columbia Street. The hostess posted up front---Regina---was smiling and welcoming. That was a nice change from the often harried greeting by hostesses in Little Italy. The interior of Fisher's is spacious and quite beautiful. In particular, I admired the dramatic globe lighting imported from San Miguel de Allende, the comfortable white upholstered dining chairs, as well as the whimsical suspended papier- mache fish presiding over the scene. The ambiance reminded me of a bustling brasserie in Paris, like La Coupole on the Boulevard Montparnasse. The wine list at Fisher's is minimal and lacking in creativity. Oddly enough, there are NO wines on the list from the nearby Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico, despite the fact this restaurant originated in Ciudad de Mexico. That is incomprehensible. Service by Maria-Luisa was kind and efficient. Moreover, she shaked up the after-dinner Carajillo with energetic glee. I also had a chance to chat with manager, Nino Franco, about the restaurant's concept and goals. He assured me that he is working on improving the wine list and had in fact met with a representative from LA Cetto. Hopefully he will also meet with some boutique winery owners from the Valle. For dinner, I enjoyed the Clams Fisher's and the Mahi-Mahi Olivo-Limon. No yellow lemons were available to squeeze on the clams or the fish---only limes. There were a few glitches with the service (not related to Maria-Luisa). Specifically, as I was eating my second of six clams of the appetizer, the Mahi-Mahi was suddenly being shoved under my nose by a kitchen waiter. I waved him off and asked that the dish be immediately returned to the kitchen. Maria Luisa apologized for the error and stated the kitchen would re-make the dish. I would much rather have a ten minute pause between courses than items coming out of the kitchen willy-nilly at the chef's whim. Fisher's is not a Chinese restaurant, and timing has to be part of their equation. As my clams were being delivered, the kitchen waiter happily proclaimed "I have your oysters!" When I informed him I did not order oysters, he looked down at the dish he was holding in the air and responded "Sorry---these are clams". As I was waiting for my Mahi-Mahi, a kitchen waiter tried to deliver a big plate of Octopus. A wave of the hand made that disappear. Despite the multiple glitches, I enjoyed my visit to Fisher's. In particular, what stood out was the interaction with Maria Luisa, Nino Franco and Regina. Hence, the awarding of a four star accolade.

Yelp
Fisher's is a new upscale Mexican restaurant that has landed in Little Italy where the former Roma Urban Market used to be located. The chain is well-established in Mexico City, but this is one of its first locations in the US. Having inherited the large footprint of a former market, the inside was transformed into a chic and modern dining space with a massive kitchen. There were also several tables along the sidewalks of Beech St and Columbia St if you wanted to dine outdoors. Yesterday was the grand opening and so they are ramping up their operations. I came for dinner this evening, but the doors were unexpectedly closed early. After talking to some staff, the owner (Nino) graciously invited me to come in. There were about four other parties seated at the time. While I was looking at the menu, a server poured a seafood broth into a small glass and told me to squeeze some lime into it. The savory liquid was like a consomme with shots of tartness from the lime. Crackers for the broth and complimentary tortilla chips were provided. The two-page menu had a wide variety of seafood-focused dishes, both raw and cooked. I will have to say that numerous prices looked steep such as one shrimp taco for $9 and grilled octopus for $40! Shrimp did seem to be an emphasis in the offerings. In the area of fish loins, salmon and tuna were the standards. A third type (some kind of whitefish) is normally available, however the mahi mahi was sold out. A few items (e.g. soups) were cooked in a cazuela which caught my attention. I chose the Melted Seafood Cazuela as an entree which consisted of shrimp, octopus, squid, and whitefish in a buttered sour cream curry sauce with gruyere. Fresh flour tortillas were provided as a vehicle to hold the pieces of seafood from the cheesy stew that resembled a thin fondue. I do wish the portions were larger as I had a difficult time scooping them up from the sauce with a spoon. Before the cazuela arrived at my table, the server recommended the Simon's Shrimp as a starter. A less spicy version was available (Fisher's Shrimp) using half the amount of chipotle so that became my selection. Cilantro, onion, olive oil, and lime over avocado were the other ingredients. About 18 shrimp were scattered across the plate. I am glad less chipotle was used as the spiciness was just fine. The tortilla chips were convenient to scoop up the mixture like a dip. I cannot say enough about the level of service provided by Nino and his team. They were accommodating to let me dine in despite closing early. The waitstaff then patiently addressed my questions from the expansion plans for the business to the password for the free WiFi signal to the make-up of certain items on the menu. It's not realistic to get this kind of personal attention routinely so I was very appreciative. I would summarize my experience at Fisher's with three stars for the cost, four stars for the food quality, and five stars for the service.

Yelp
A nicely executed space in Little Italy area. Came for a work lunch. Had a reservation and were the second table seated for lunch. The host was friendly. Our server, Francisco was friendly and informative. Drink and food orders were taken quickly. Then things sort of went downhill. Food was brought out one person at a time (there were 7 of us). The first person had finished his food by the time the last meal was served. That's just not the way to do things, especially when our orders were put in before the place got busy. I ordered the shrimp in squid ink, which came with tortillas - It was good. The tacos are street style and very small. It seems like a fun place, but needs work on execution.

Yelp
This is a nice Mexican seafood restaurant, the atmosphere felt classy and like a coastal city which made sense with the menu. Really good service the waitress were helpful with the recommendations and the speed. I would come back to try the taco Tuesday

Yelp
Walked right in and sat at the bar after the Little Italy tree lighting. The swanky decor and lighting was very nice to see, and set a great date night mood. We tried a few dirty martinis and a negroni, both drinks were average and wouldn't order again. Our bartender poured us some broth de mariscos which was a delicious and warm treat before trying the fresh and flavorful guacamole. The clam chowder was not as flavorful, although, and was served on the cooler side. My boyfriend ordered the grilled shrimp plate and every single item on the plate was seriously amazing, lots of flavor and good portion for an entree. Our bartender was attentive despite it being a busy night, and we had a good experience!

Yelp
Saw someone post about this place on IG and everything looked good, so we had to try it! Made a reservation on OpenTable for right when they opened at 3pm! As usual, we like to eat family style so that we can try more than one item. We got the Simon's Fish Cuts, Vuelve a la Vida cocktail, and the Rockefeller oysters. When we sat down, they gave us a bag of tortilla chips and a bowl of saladitas. They also poured out a small glass of seafood broth to try. They recommend squeezing some lime in it. They were right! Love the broth. I wanted more actually! The inside of the restaurant has an open feel. They also have a bar and a view of the kitchen. They have just been opened for maybe a week. Seems like people have already heard of this place and were lining up before the doors opened. Definitely a place to check out if you are in the mood for Mexican seafood!

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at @fishersandiego a delightful Mexican seafood restaurant that has recently opened its doors in @littleitalysandiego From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality, The restaurant's decor seamlessly blended modern elegance with traditional Mexican accents with comfortable seating and dimmed lighting that added a touch of intimacy to the dining experience. The food takes seafood to new heights by expertly infusing traditional Mexican flavors with contemporary culinary techniques. Each dish presented a visual feast, beautifully arranged and meticulously crafted. I highly recommend this restaurant as a must-visit places in @littleitalysandiego

Yelp
We've been to Fisher's a few times, and it's a nice addition to the area. We went most recently for dinner. As usual, service was great, and the food was solid. Diners all get complimentary cups of seafood consommé -- sometimes it's a little salty but still tasty especially with a squeeze of lime. Fisher's fries were addictive, and their tostadas are generally tasty. The octopus silverio tacos (which were recommended to us by our waiter) was probably our least favorite thing. Although we enjoyed dinner, I think their happy hour is the best deal (I believe HH is limited to the bar and patio, which is small). Zero complaints about their drinks -- love that they have a tamarindo margarita. Although the food isn't cheap, it's a solid option for HH or if you're looking for something different in Little Italy!
google avatar

Yelp
Searched something within walking distance from where we were for Happy Hour and Fisher's looked worth a shot. Let me tell you, it was more than we could have asked for. A lot of quality, fresh seafood choices on the HH menu. Drinks were perfect, as well as stellar service!

Yelp
Gizeh gave the most amazing service. Plus, the food along with the bottomless mimosas were so delicious. Definitely our new go to spot!

Yelp
Loved this spot! Went on a weekday for lunch and it was pretty empty but we didn't mind. Fast service and very fresh food! I had a cocktail (a lemon spritz of sorts) and the AquaChile! SO good and very authentic. Happy hour is from 3-6pm on weekdays and I will be visiting again

Sooo I hyped up my husband to take me here for an early valentines date to beat the crowds , but when we showed up it looked like someone's company event was going on , service was really slow, it took around 15 min for someone to ask us what we wanted to drink, another long while before we could actually place our order , never got refills on our small water cups , I'm thinking we just went on an off day but would like to come back , the tuna carpaccio was our fave , we didn't order more food because we didn't want to wait and our parking was about to expire.

Yelp
Not really guys... I've been hearing the Hype about this Little Italy Hot Spot for a few months now in Socials. Came in over the weekend with another couple. My Husband and I ordered 3 things to share. Caesar Salad... this was awesome! Calamari with Fries... it was cold on arrival. Seafood Rice...also served cold, rice was undercooked, pieces of Seafood were tiny. We were having such great conversations with our friends we didn't want to be "those people" to complain about our food so we just sucked it up. BOTH of us had stomach aches on our drive home... The Restaurant was pretty, our Server was awesome, food cold, it was 54 degrees outside and ALL of their doors were open... very cold inside... music was great! Glad we came... won't come back. Do NOT recommend.

Yelp
Extremely nice staff, and an excellent menu. Upon sitting down, they brought over a complimentary seafood broth which was surprisingly good. As a huge fan of Mexican food and Seafood, this place far exceeded expectations with lots of healthy and interesting options.

Yelp
This place is great!! If you're looking fir fresh seafood , this is it!! We had their oysters , shrimp (a few different ways), clams ( Yum!!), salmon carpaccio , rice , sea snail , and chocolate dessert to finish off the meal. I took some pictures but was so so eager to try the food, I forgot to take some of the pictures. They also had meat and chicken on the menu, in case you go with someone who's not a fan of seafood. The service was amazing , they made us feel welcomed from the second we stepped in and the atmosphere is really cool, loved the decor. We're looking forward to go back again soon.

Yelp
Once upon a time, in a cozy little restaurant by the sea, I embarked on a culinary adventure like no other. I ordered the melted seafood cazuela, a dish that promised to tantalize my taste buds with a medley of shrimp, octopus, squid, and white fish, all swimming in a buttered cream curry sauce infused with the rich flavors of gruyere cheese. As I took my first bite, my senses were instantly transported to a world of gastronomic ecstasy. The combination of seafood and creamy curry was a match made in culinary heaven, eliciting a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. It was nothing short of delish, earning a solid 9/10 on the taste-o-meter. However, as I savored each succulent morsel, a thought crossed my mind. The choice of fish seemed slightly off, not quite harmonizing with the rest of the dish. But hey, taste is subjective, and everyone's palate is unique, so perhaps it was just a matter of personal preference. Now, let's talk about the price. At a hefty $29, this dish certainly didn't come cheap. But considering the perfect portion amount, I couldn't complain. It was just enough to satisfy my hunger without overwhelming my appetite. But what truly set this dining experience apart was the spectacular service. The waitstaff, with their warm smiles and attentive demeanor, made me feel like royalty. They catered to my every need, ensuring that my culinary journey was nothing short of extraordinary. And let's not forget the presentation. Oh, the presentation! The cazuela arrived at my table like a work of art, with vibrant colors and carefully arranged seafood that seemed almost too beautiful to eat. It was a feast for the eyes, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience. As I sat there, basking in the wonderful atmosphere of the restaurant, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this delightful culinary escapade. Despite the slight fish mishap, the melted seafood cazuela had left an indelible mark on my taste buds and my heart. It was a dish worth savoring, even with its quirks.

Yelp
3.5/5 stars I work in Little Italy and have been looking forward to Fisher's opening. However, I am disappointed. Mediocre (but expensive) food. Everyone starts with a complimentary cup of seafood soup. They also provide chips and lime to pair with the seafood soup. My coworkers and I ordered the shrimp enchiladas, chilaquiles burrito with shrimp, and tuna chochinita quesadilla (not pictured). Nothing noteworthy except the price. The portions are extremely small. I was definitely was expecting more. The quesadilla could be eaten in 2-3 bites. We had no issues finding seating for our party at lunch on Friday. Our server was kind and attentive. Great interior with comfortable seating. I also noticed a back patio that I believe offers additional seating. Overall, I don't think Fisher's lives up to the hype. If you weigh price vs food, it's not worth it. I hope they switch things up in the next couple of months because I would love to give this place another go. But, as of right now, I'll be dining elsewhere in Little Italy.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Our server Matt gave great recommendations on the ceviche and the desert drinks were great. All the other staff was friendly and the layout of the restaurant is very nice. A must try if you live in San Diego or are visiting.

Yelp
Mediocre and very overpriced. I really really want to like this establishment and will visit a second time to give them another chance. I worked in the same building that the restaurant is located in, so it was very convenient for me to attend for lunch or dinner. It has a great location with a great views and the restaurant has a great set up. The last restaurant prior to them taking establishment did not do well and I was hoping for a better outcome for Fisher. Comparably, the food is just not as tasty nor worth the price. They have a number of octopus dishes, which I would usually enjoy, but they just weren't flavorful and we're overpriced. There's a restaurant not even half a block away that orders an exceptional grilled octopus for only $17, also, our service was less than desirable. Like I said, I will give this place another try and hopefully my updated review will be better.

Yelp
My wife and I were walking through Little Italy looking for an Italian restaurant to have lunch at when we stumbled upon Fisher's. Browsing the menu from the sidewalk, we were greeted by Gizeh, a smiling breath of fresh air! Despite the fact we came for Italian food, we could not resist the menu and Gizeh's personality. The experience was outstanding. My Seafood soup was even better than the menu described. And the ceviche, as well as the guacamole were so, so fresh! We will be bringing the whole family here soon! To all of you - go see Gizeh. Run, don't walk!

Yelp
Second time here for brunch and it was excellent again. Gizeh was our server and she was very helpful in answering our questions. She recommended the huevos cazuela for me and it was absolutely delicious. Great spot. I recommend trying it out.

Yelp
Staff and level of customer service made this a wonderful experience for our group of 6. The variety on the menu also make it extra appealing. The decor is very modern and unique. We tried a variety of appetizers: scallop aquachile, octopus tacos, guacamole and the standout shrimp ceviche verde. This alone will make me visit again, perfect balance and heat, ample shrimp for 3-4 people. I loved the presentation of grilled sea bass and the salmon- arriving sizzling on a heavy plancha. All the veggies had a beautiful char and salmon was moist- a nice sauce or flavored butter would have been a great addition- even a charred lemon? Others tried the hanger steak, more tacos and seafood rice. Everyone seemed happy to try all the unique entrees. Tableside dessert drinks and a flan really impressed. Highly recommend this upscale mariscos restaurant!

Yelp
An amazing find! We came for brunch, authentic Mexican food, fresh seafood and many gluten free options . We loved the atmosphere. Will be back to try everything on the menu.! Loved the chilaquiles, shrimp taco, aguachile, cocktail, housemade flan.

Yelp
We were excited to try this place, but honestly the food was average to good and the service was AWFUL. There was exactly one person who spoke English in the whole restaurant and she was not very polite. To top it off, the prices are the same as every other restaurant in downtown. So it was expensive with poor service... no thank you.

Yelp
Love this place!!! Yummy margaritas and the most authentic Caesar salad you can find in San Diego. I love that they make their Caesar dressing with real anchovies and whip up your salad right in front of you within an egg. Our server Gizeh was so attentive and knowledgeable. Super recommend this place!
