Reservation online for picking. Reschedule for different times same day if needed. The location was easy to find, signs. Very helpful staff. Check in and you get a map and bag for picking. Our families first time going apple and pear picking at this location. There was so much fruit to pick from and signs to state what fruit was ripe. The food choices were great options. Hamburger, hot dogs, grilled corn, homemade mac and cheese. Apple ciders and sodas. Other food options for vegetarians are vegan burgers and salads. The donut line was great. Our Family ordered half plain half cinnamon donuts. We chose a dozen donuts. The options for donuts a half a dozen or a dozen. The staff was friendly. The store has so many baked goods and more. The staff was very friendly. The outside of the store pumpkins for sale, bought a few. The staff was friendly. Hay ride and corn maze. Our family rode the hay ride. Fun experience for the whole family on the first day of fall Sunday. Thank you Fishkill Farms and staff.

I love it here! I visit at least once or twice a year every year. Apple, blackberry & strawberry picking. I love the outdoor cider bar with breathtaking views. Tim, the bar manager, was super nice and accommodating! 👍🏽 I just love this place. A cool local farm to do fruit picking and hayrides. The store has cool local goodies to buy. I got Black currant Jam and Blueberry Lavender cocktail mix. I can’t wait to whip up something with gin! 🤗That cider bar, they also serve a dry Rose’, is a nice place to sit and relax. There is a stage off to the side for live music.

On Saturday, we embarked on an excursion to engage in cherry picking at Fish Kill Farm, an exemplary location for this activity. The entry fees, which included a box of cherries, were remarkably reasonable. The topography of the farm, with its picturesque valley, added to the scenic ambiance. We also had the opportunity to observe Apple and peach trees. There were diverse varieties of cherries available. I would highly recommend revisiting this destination.

Google
We visit yearly, this is our go to spot for strawberry picking but this year we opted to go cherry picking instead. Plenty of cherries but they weren’t sweet…expensive for what you get (4 pints of cherries that you pick yourself for $58) but you’re really paying for the experience rather than the product. It is pretty well organized and not as chaotic compared to other farms I’ve been to. The grill and cider tasting restaurant both are worth a visit. I will continue to visit yearly but won’t be back for their cherries..their peaches on the other hand looked great and were sweet. This is more of a grownup farm, it doesn’t really have a lot for kids to do!

Google
Never had been to a farm like the Fishkill Farm, it’s a really amazing place, you can call it wonder land. Right here, you not only can pick up the freshest fluids, but also can go for a walk. My wife and I love the peaches the most, and secondly, we also love the Asian pears and honey-crisps . they are all juice and sweat.

Michelle Yang

Google
Reserve online and the price paid already includes fruit picking boxes and admission for up to five people! This is a good deal since I have also been to farms where there are also entry fees. Many types of fruits are available on this farm including cherries, blueberries, apples, strawberries, raspberries, and even currants. This is a very large property and note that there are hayrides to get around.

"LGreat farm, but not the best experience for couples. If you have kids and are looking for a fun family outing, this is definitely one of the best farms I’ve been to in Westchester. They have an amazing variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and more. The food market is also fantastic — we had oysters, fire-roasted corn, and of course, donuts 😍. The view is absolutely stunning! Now for the downside... the price for apple picking is $58, which includes a large bag that holds about 45-65 apples (according to one of the staff). Unless you're planning to bake a ton of pies or eat apples for every meal, it feels a bit excessive. My husband and I love apple season, but we can’t eat that many before they start going bad. So, we ended up skipping the apple picking and just enjoyed the view and the food from the market.

Google
Love it here. Highly recommend to get reservations in high season. Staff is friendly and market has a variety of things to choose from. Berry and cherry picking was so much fun. Can’t wait to come back for apple picking season!

Yelp
I was so excited to finally visit this farm for apple picking during the season! Even though it was towards the end of the season, there were still a few varieties of apples left to pick before the farm's closure, which made the experience feel like a last little harvest. The farm itself is absolutely beautiful, and I couldn't have asked for a better day to visit. The crisp, clean air and the peaceful atmosphere made it such a special experience. I was lucky enough to go on a slow day with hardly any crowds, which added to making it one of the best intimate experiences. While many of the apple trees had already been picked, I'm eager to return earlier next season to see the full bushels. The highlight of the trip was the stunning sunset. The views of the mountains and clouds were truly breathtaking, every moment felt magical, I didn't want to leave. I also spent some time at the farm's bar/dining area, where we tried their variety of floats. Each one was fresh, crisp, and a perfect compliment of the apples on the farm. Getting to the farm was surprisingly easy and accessible too! It's not far from the train and just a short Uber ride away.

Yelp
This farm was such a delight! We made a reservation beforehand for apple picking and drove the 1.5 hours from NYC. The drive isn't too long and is pretty scenic during fall foliage time. When you first arrive it's bustling with many vendors, lots of families, and live music. My friends and I first got some apple cider donuts which were delicious--they have some other actual food options too (mexican food, hot dogs, etc.). We also got a flight of hard ciders which was a fun experience although not my favorite tasting, they were definitely a bit funky. The actual apple picking was such a nice activity and there was still a good selection considering I went in late October. Make sure you bring a few tall people as all the good apples tend to be higher up lol. At the end of our trip we of course stopped by the farmstore, where I picked up some rosemary crackers, goat cheese, and hot pepper jelly. I have been snacking on these non stop since getting home. You also get quite a large bag that fits a looot of apples! Overall a really great experience and would recommend this farm for NYers looking for a wholesome, nature-y activity!

Yelp
A couple girlfriends and I took MetroNorth up to Beacon for a Saturday to go apple picking at Fishkill Farms! It was a quick Uber ride away after about 1.5 hour train ride from the city. You reserve a slot ahead of time, and it's $58 for up to five people for a 1 half-bushel bag (plenty for the group). They have rows and rows of apple trees, and good signage for the varieties and what is already picked. The apples were all so fresh and juicy, can't compare to what you get at the grocery store. We didn't partake, but there are tractor rides, corn mazes, a lot of food and drink vendors, and more. I wanted to get Apple cider donuts but the line was too long. Still a really fun day to experience fall festivities!

Yelp
Fishkill Farms offers a delightful apple-picking experience that's perfect for a fall outing. For $58, you can bring a group (up to 5 people) and enjoy the thrill of picking your own apples. The Red Jonagold, Matsu, and Fuji varieties were particularly impressive--crisp, sweet, and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere is family-friendly, enhanced by hayrides that provide a fun way to explore the farm. The pumpkin patch adds to the charm, making it an ideal spot for kids and adults alike. For lunch, the taco stand is a decent option. The freshly made guacamole is a standout, although the beef tacos could use a bit more seasoning. Overall, Fishkill Farms delivers a wonderful day of apple picking, great apples, and a pleasant outdoor vibe. Perfect for making autumn memories!

Yelp
This is my favorite apple/pear picking farm out of the couple I've been to. I always go for their juicy Asian pears and sweet Fuji apples. I like how you can drive up to the most of the section you are interested in picking from berries, sunflowers, vegetables, to various apples/pears. Make sure to reserve your appointment online ahead of time to pay $58 for a huge bag, it's a nice outting activity for the whole family with or without kids. If possible, bring/rent a long fruit picking stick as some of the bigger size fruits are at the top of the trees. I like that they also have a section selling their wonderful apple cider donuts, a farm store, some food vendors selling American, Mexican, and Carribean food, and live music on the weekends! I just wish they had real bathrooms and not the portable ones, but other than that, this is my go to farm to welcome the harvest season. P.S. When you leave, they will ask you to open your truck for their routine inspection.

Yelp
Came here for apple picking and stayed for a delicious cider, bite to eat, and live music. Let's dive in ... Apple Picking (5/5): First of all, well done Fishkill Farms by putting various parking lots right next to the orchard itself. This made carrying our overstuffed bag of apples back to our car much easier. The orchard is well labeled for the most part but some signs were clearly still up from the summer saying peaches were in season. I did appreciate the signage at the front of some rows saying to keep walking down as there were more apples at the end. The sign was right. About 2/3 of the trees were picked over but by the end of the rows were apples aplenty! They have a wonderful variety of apples ready to pick when we went including honeycrisp (a family favorite) and jonagold (a new family favorite now). Corn Maze / Pumpkin Patch (4/5): For $5/person with 30% going to 3 charities this was a nice way to enjoy the deceivingly-challenging corn maze. Minus one as the maze was broken leading to the outside (but not the official exit) at two spots -- likely caused by children as we saw several making their own paths several times. The maze starts at and lets you out into the pumpkin patch which featured some 100-odd (or more) pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. They price them based on their weight class so you can only roughly estimate what price point your pick will fall into until they weight it. Food Options (5/5): Ample food vendors with the largest being a Mexican truck/stand. They also have their own grill stand for hamburgers and the like. We enjoyed their on-site cidery partnership with a tasty high-proof cider flight and got their mezze board which was PACKED with pita chips, sundried tomato, roasted garlic, hummus and other small handhelds. The board was perfect to split among two and took 30 seconds for them to make. Farm Store (5/5): Large indoor and outdoor options -- though note that you have to pay for outdoor store items at their register outside. The donut shop open on the weekends (per the sign) was WELL worth the wait to snag some apple cider donuts. The inside features all sorts of things they grow and some other non-food items they don't make which you'll pay plenty for. Though, grab yourself a farm-made apple cider jug before leaving -- it's some of the best! Ambiance (4/5): The entire place itself is beautiful and quite a peaceful look from the seating area looking down to the fields below it. My one complaint is seating was hard to find and we shared a table with another group. Don't mind sharing at all but if this is an issue for you consider skipping this. The live band was covering pop hits which were fun to sing along with! TL;DR: Very accessible from the city, and surrounding suburbs. Reasonably priced and plenty to do and enjoy. Worth checking out for a lovely fall experience!

Yelp
This was my first visit to Fishkill Farms. This farm has so much to offer (produce, spirits, a bakery, food carts)! The farm is a 270-acre apple orchard and vegetable farm. It has been in the family for over 100 years. The farm provides year round family-friendly outdoor fun for the local community. As I entered the grounds. I noticed a food stand that had a menu that caught my eye. I wasn't expecting it. One of the offerings was a jerked chicken platter. I said to my friends "At the Farm?" Wha??? Then I said "Yes Please ". If you're in the area...GET SOME

Yelp
I've been coming to Fishkill farms for years! I love the farm store with a fresh selection of already picked produce and local products like cheeses, and ciders. Their bar serves cocktails, ciders and beers as well. My favorite is the cider that has a hint of peach unless it's summer when they have frozen cocktails! They have great bar bites like pretzels and charcuterie. Or even have pop up food trucks like this past weekend they had gyros that were juicy and perfect even though they had run out of taziki they added on humus which was a nice touch. They are always adding on events, like this past weekend we went and took a pottery workshop from Natures Impact. It was informative and helpful in guiding us creatively as well as improving our technical skills. There is always pick your own fruit for multiple seasons like berries in the summer or apples in the fall. Make sure if you want to pick your own that you make a reservation online ahead of time, they are certain timed entry slots and they go fast during busy season! They even offer a co-op you can pick up a weekly share of produce. They truly have it all that you could want in your local farm/orchard.

Yelp
Beautiful orchard to enjoy a wholesome day with friends and family. Located in the top of a little mountain, you can enjoy the rolling hills that go on for days. Pick apples and pears until your heart is content. Pack a lunch and throw down a blanket to enjoy the sun and breeze that smells so sweet. Maybe even a little nap. Finish the day back at the barn with some cider and donuts. During the week this place is quiet and you have it all to yourself. But not all of the food and activities are open.

Yelp
Now that fall is upon us, I feel inclined to report that Fishkill Farms is such a fun stop for apple picking and other fall activities. With so many farms upstate, we decided on Fishkill because it was the easiest to get to from the train station. Before you head on over, be sure to make a reservation ahead of time as I know it can get busy, especially during the weekends. I would also suggest visiting their website to see what the produce availabilities are. We spent a few hours filling our sacks with a wide variety of apples and we even hopped on a little train that looped around the entire farm. We had a ton of fun exploring the farm and scavenging for apples from the trees. The best part? Their apple cider and apple cider donuts from their store! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience at this farm picking peaches and nectarines with my friends on a hot summer weekend. They had delicious apple cider donuts that sold out fast and amazing staff that helped us identify the best peaches to pick! We also bought a good amount of produce such as cherry tomatoes and zucchinis that weren't too expensive and organic. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was that there weren't any regular bathrooms and just porta potties
google avatar

Yelp
This was my second visit to Fishkill Farms for peach and nectarine picking, and it was delightful. The weather was pleasantly sunny and warm and the tractor trailer ride was a charming touch that made it fun for the younger kids in our family. The peaches and nectarines were exceptionally sweet. A great experience all around!

Yelp
This review is strictly for the strawberry picking season. I find that there aren't as many reviews for this specifically, probably because as another reviewer pointed out, the season is very short. But this year, we made a reservation super early, literally for the second day in June, a day after they open up the strawberry picking to the general public. Which is what I also recommend that you do. The farm is a good hour and a half drive from the city. When you make the reservation, it will cost you $32, which they say is entrance fee for 5 people and for as many strawberries as you can pack into a 2 quart box. And boy did we pack it in. We were almost embarrassed to walk out with the box in hand, overflowing like we've never seen strawberries before. The strawberries were plump, sweet and bountiful. We were told by a couple of friendly farm-goers to go to the back where they were ripest, sweetest and largest. They have a store where you can get baked goods and the like. The chocolate covered apple cider donuts were great. We got a box of three - two with pink/strawberry icing and one with chocolate icing. It cost about $6 and tasted really good. The texture was a bit weird, it was delicate and was almost falling off so you had to eat it quickly. The icing hadn't set and hence it is a bit messy to eat. They have a food stand that serves hot dogs, hamburgers and other quick finger foods. We got the special, a fried chicken and donut sandwich which was interesting, tasted fine. It wasn't the worst thing we've had. They have a hard cider bar which also serves light bites and food. I saw a table get sloppy Joe's from there so if I could redo it again, I would have probably gotten something from the bar. As far as drinks at the hard cider bar, they have a strawberry frose ($10), a variety of small batch hard ciders($9) which are both very boozy and non-alcoholic options for kids. All in all, we walked away very happy with our experience. We're looking forward to our next time here!

Yelp
Took a trip here with my girlfriend and a few friends last weekend to go apple picking. It was rainy so it was not very busy when we arrived but on a beautiful sunny day I can easily see this place being packed. Locating the farm was easy and parked nearby. The first thing we did when we arrived was get the apple cider doughnuts which are a must. They were warm when we ate them and they are soooo good! We then checked in to begin apple picking. You can walk down to the orchard or take a ride on the trailer. There were many varieties of apples and it was a lot of fun. They are very strict about not taking additional apples or trying to sneak them in a purse or bag. They had a live band which played reggae and they were good. The biggest disappointment was the food selection there. The food in general was not good so I would recommend bringing your own food. We also paid for a bench good for 1 hour but on a non-busy day we found this to be unnecessary. The bench area was also filled of bees. We tried their cider varieties and they were all pretty bad and do not recommend. This place is ideal for just apple picking and pumpkin picking.

Catherine G.

Yelp
Super commercialized. The food kiosks extremely expensive and mediocre. We just paid $18 for jerky chicken with rice and beans. There were only 3 small chicken legs and lots of rice. We also came for their eggs. No eggs to be seen.

Yelp
Love love love this apple picking farm!!! Firstly when we call there is always someone to pick up and they answer all your questions. Very family friendly, very nice employees. So so sooooo many kinds of apples to pick. Wonderful selection. Any you can drive and park at all the different sections. They also have pumpkin picking (though roots were not attached to the ground). And small area of veggies. Food tents along the path. Soo much more to explore but just didn't have the time. Can really be there for HOURS! Went on a beautiful weather Sunday and still so many apples and plenty of space there was zero overcrowding. Oh and the bag of apples you get is the size of those big bag onions.

Melinda

Yelp
since era of pandemic style begin I have been going apple picking up there with my family. I love Matsu and also Gala apples. spot on, place us people have ever been to. Farms always has lasting gourds style

Lydia M.

Yelp
Came on Saturday had a pumpkin picking appointment for 4 o'clock got there at 3:45 then went to the restaurant and dining area. It was so overcrowded and understaffed and their store did not have enough product. Everything was sold out and then I got in line for donuts Said that they were open till five and then the store told me that the donuts were open till 630. I got into the line at 6:15 and got turned away aggressively with a man who worked there shouting over my two month old child and making her cry never going back to this place again. What a nightmare and a waste of a weekend. Their communications is not clear. Their website is not clear and they attitude of the staff is unacceptable. Drive two hours to wait in line for another two hours for nothing. Thanks for wasting my time.

Yelp
I love this place so much and so does my kids ! We have so much fun here and the food is good too. We go every season . Whether it's to go for apple pumpkin picking or strawberry and cherry picking . The fields are beautiful. And the workers there are so nice.

Yelp
Worth the drive and they have a maybe not secret but I didn't know breakfast when the shop is open that was divine. Have an egg sandy while looking out over a farm, too early for cider? Nah it's like apple juice for adults. We found these chaps at the tash market and drive up regularly to grab all the bok choy we can. Their coffee or the coffee they sell is also quite good and I'm sorry I didn't buy more bags before they shit down. Can't wait til they're open again.

Yelp
I took my family for a day of apple picking at the farm and we had so much fun! Let me just start by saying that there is a LOT going on. Read on if you want tips for a great day out on the farm! We split up the farm visit into two activities: 1. Apple picking and walking the farm; and 2. Enjoying the food, cider tastings, shopping, etc. Upon driving into the farm lot, follow the signs in red print for apple picking and drive in ALL the way into the back to the drive thru reservation check-in. There you will be given the bag for your picked apples. The farm and the scenery was gorgeous, great for pics! The farm was also quite expansive. So, expect lots of walking. I'd say ditch the baby strollers and ergo the little munchkins. It was a great space for the kids to romp around and look for that perfect apple. Out in the field is also where we went thru the corn maze. There is a stand there to purchase entry. Simple Snacks and drinks were available at this stand. After we got all that apple picking out of our system, we hitched a ride on the tractor wagon (free). This took us from the field to the area with food and entertainment. Which takes us to part 2 of the visit. So here they offered: Food stand ( Mexican food today) Photo opps Stand to purchase "add on" activities such as flower ($25) or herb picking Cider tasting Apple cider donut stand (the line was long. one person said they waited about 30 minutes) BBQ stand Farm store for shopping Nearby here are sheep and chickens. (Free) Hay pile jump area (free) It was all a great space for the kids to run around and enjoy what was offered. After thoroughly enjoying the afternoon, I noticed that we had easily spent almost 3 hours at the farm. We could have spent more! We hopped in our car and drove towards the exit. All car trunks are inspected. After the inspection, the road spits you out into the front parking lot. We parked our car here near the farm store and went shopping! You won't want to shop and have to haul all your loot to a faraway car! Bathrooms: none. All port-a-potties. Readily available all thru-out the property. If you have little ones potty training, maybe have a mini training potty in the car for them.

Yelp
Idyllic surroundings. Tons of apples, pear and other fruits. We chose the apple/pear package and ended up filling our bag with all Asian pears. They were huge and delicious. Just a really nice farm for apple/pear and other fruit picking.

Yelp
I absolutely love apple picking so I gathered my squad to check out this farm this past weekend, which had a fun Harvest Festival going on, which included live music, hayrides, apple cider donuts and much more. We came just in time, because it was the last weekend the farm was doing it. Since it was Halloween weekend, we dressed up a little... I wore a multi colored neon wig and rainbow unicorn horn. The price of pick your own apples was a package deal which was $46 for 5 people, so it was only $9 per person. When we arrived to the farm, we were given one large bag to place all of the apples we pick. I didn't really like this method, because you can't keep track of the apples you specifically pick and we needed to separate them ourselves later. Also, the apples on the bottom became bruised and no longer perfect looking. It would have been better if each person were given an individual bag. We started off by the pumpkin patch and corn maze. Since we were already there, we did the corn maze first, which cost $3 to enter. We weren't expecting that the path would be so darn muddy, messy and difficult to navigate. Shortly after entering, we just wanted to get out of there and were able to backtrack our way to the exit. We then started our apple picking adventure and decided to pick the Golden Delicious, Pink Lady, Rome, and Jonagold. I thought that Pink Lady would be my favorite kind of apple, but found the Jonagold to be even more tasty. They were mostly red in color with some green and were delightfully sweet, as well as crisp, while still being soft. There was also Winesap, but they were unfortunately past their prime because most of them had dark spots all over them. The hay rides came frequently and the driver was personable and funny. He drove us all around the place so we could pick the type of apples we wanted. Finally, we went down to the where there was food and a farm store. We decided not to try any of the food because we wanted to dine at a restaurant, but we explored the farm store and got apple cider donuts. There were plenty of lovely products from pies and sweets, to jam, to pancake mix, to kitchen and homeware, to bath and body, to Christmas ornaments and more. I ended up purchasing scone mix and Pumpkin Spice foaming hand soap. I can't wait to make some yummy scones and have them with tea! Also, throughout our time at the farm, we were very impressed by the breathtaking views of the Catskill mountains, which was perfect because it was prime time to see the fall foliage. I'm glad I picked this spot for our apple picking adventure. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. My friends and I definitely had a fun filled time here.

Yelp
My cousin and I drove almost 2 hours from NJ yesterday (Tuesday) to get to Fishkill Farms. We were excited to walk the farm and especially do the corn maze. What a disappointment the day was. When we got there only the farm store was open. No vendors, activities, no food booths. We did have donuts, which were delicious and my cousin had coffee which she also said was very good. However, when I asked if I could have cold cider, I was told there was only hot cider, and if I wanted cold cider, I could purchase a 1/2 gallon...ridiculous. Not everyone likes their cider hot! Then we asked about the corn maze, and were told we had to make an online reservation first to either pick apples or pumpkins to get to maze. We are both seniors and she is disabled, so picking apples are pumpkins was out of the question. We just wanted to do the maze. NOPE! Had to pay $35-$40 to pick fruit & THEN pay another $5 each to do the maze. So we didn't get to do the maze. Finally, we asked where the restrooms were & were directed to porta-potties. Really? DISGUSTING & so unsanitary. I am so glad I didn't have young children who also had to use them. This day was so disappointing and I would NOT recommend it, especially on a weekday when the place is dead.

Yelp
This review is just for Treasury Cider. We came here for my sister's bachelorette and the staff was amazing to work with. We were able make a reservation for a large group and Elizabeth was so wonderful to work with. Highly recommend.

Yelp
So after a good amount of research, I decided to go to Fishkill Farms for fruit picking. Things that I learned: - While on the website, Fishkill Farms seems very strict about reservations, but when I got there, they seem very laxed about it. Same things with the rules and regulations posted on the site versus what was actually enforced (dogs roaming, people tasting fruits, etc.) - There's a truck that brings you around the farm grounds, but everything is walkable. - A peck was smaller than I thought it would be. Maybe from the price I thought there would be more. - The farm itself is very organized, and labeled well for city slickers. - Avoid European pears. - You know the nectarines are sweet when the insects are after it. - White peaches are sweeter than yellow peaches. - Berries are at the front before you check in. - The farm store sells alcoholic cider but not non-alcoholic cider. - The grill smells good. - Remember to wear sunscreen, or you will get burned.

Yelp
I had a kid a couple of years ago so now I'm suddenly into fall apple picking ... an activity I previously would not be caught dead doing - I joke, it's fine. Yea so they have lots of apple and pears and pumpkins and I feel like there are berries and stuff too plus gorgeous views. The location is convenient and I've never had any problems with staff etc. The farm store has a lot to be desired, there's not much in the way of food (sometimes they sell bbq food but that's pretty limited and since that's all the food the lines get insane and become a little every man for themselves-y), and all the bathrooms are portopotties. I will say, I've used some portopotties in my day and these are so clean as to rival fancy publicly funded European portopotties- but still, you're trapped on a giant farm with nothing but portopotties. That said, there are usually some pretty good food and drink options nearby with outdoor space for kiddos to run around etc (ex: brewery that makes pizza) if you happen to not come on a Monday or Tuesday when everything local is closed. So yea, come for the apples and the views with detailed food and bathroom contingency plans and you'll have a great time !!

Yelp
Wow wow wow what an awesome experience . Let me start off by saying I've always wanted to go strawberry picking, and I've now made time for myself and family my #1 priority. You must make a reservation to come just check their website. I paid $32 for 2 box full of strawberries and up to 5 people can join your party. I came on a Saturday (today) and there was a moderate crowd. Everyone was so friendly and we all got to know each other as we picked and ate strawberries. I advise to walk all the way to the back where you can get huge bright red sweet strawberries to pick . The fields are huge with other different things to pick, from lettuce to cabbage etc. They also have vendors that serve up hamburgers and fries ,pizza and soda. We also saw sheeps just lounging in their homes and also a tractor from the 1800's . I'm so glad I finally came out to experience this also knowing strawberry season is one of the shortest. I will definitely be here next year and the years to come . Thank you so much also to the farm workers who are so courteous and kind .

Yelp
Came here to go apple picking in mid October. The actual experience on the farm, picking your own apples was pretty good, there is a ton of space and things to choose from. Obviously pending when you go, there will be more or less to choose from, but they update their website once a week or so to let you know what it available. There are just a few small things. The signage needs work, there were various unclear things, from parking (although there are signs, there is no signage that there are 4 additional parking lots available), the people at the check-in were friendly, but not intuitive enough to let the next person in the line that they could check them in (and the line gets kind of long). This place gets CROWDED, but, that is kind of expected. It's a nice spot, with food vendors, a farm store, and donuts, that is kid friendly. If you are going and expecting it to be a blank space for you and your family/friends to frolick along.... Three tidbits, know there are no 'real' bathrooms, just portables (there are a lot of them), and bring a water/drink bottle. Have your reservation be before Noon. The amount of people from before Noon, to after, was at least triple, partly because the place is welcoming, and you could spend most of the day there. Otherwise, enjoy the time here.

Yelp
Thank you so much for hanging up on when trying to navigate a reservation with your business. I have never had an experience where you need to book several reservations (as I already made 1 reservation) to enjoy 1 location. There was 0 customer service. Just rude and not accommodating. I'm very sorry that you're feeling overwhelmed and taking it out on your customers. Maybe you should rethink the system and not be rude. I will be getting my money back for this reservation and not visiting.

Yelp
Had a terrible experience at Fishkill farms. You have to make reservations in advance. they charge way too much for apple picking. must apples are rotted and on the ground. Then they charge you ten dollars to rent a wagon for your children and to top it off I got a dozen donuts and when I got home there were only ten in the box. LEARN HOW TO COUNT PEOPLE!!! just a horrible experience over all. if you want to go apple picking take a trip to Barton Farms. Had to give one star because it was a required field

Yelp
We were overcharged by a few bucks for the apples, but the kid was very busy at cashier, I let it go. Problem is when we tried them they were THE worst apples I've ever had. The apple cider donut tasted of bad oil -- terrible. Nice grounds though and view.

Yelp
UPDATE: The owner did contact me today regarding my original request for contact. He apologized for our experience and promised to speak to those involved so that something like this does not happen again. This review comes after I emailed the farm asking for the owner or GM to contact me with no response. My husband and I visited Fishkill Farms last Friday to pick both apples & blackberries celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary. We drove over 2 hours to this farm because we liked that they had organic options however after our experience we are not sure how organic they really are. Our experience was lack luster and we had some problems with a rogue chicken or rooster during blackberry picking which caused us to finish early but that was nothing compared to the horrible experience we had in the farm shop. After spending hundreds of dollars at this farm we visited the farm store on our way out. We were overcharged/charged incorrectly for multiple items. We tried to bring it to the attention of the cashier but only had a chance to mention one thing when she disappeared and we were left standing there with other customers not knowing what was going on. After waiting a while we decided we would just leave as it wasn't that big of a deal and we were tired after being there for hours. As we gathered our things to leave the manager comes in the door asking what we needed and being very rude for no reason. Thinking she was just having a bad day I said it wasn't that big of a deal we were just leaving but we were overcharged. I didn't get to finish when she grabbed the receipt, processed a refund for one item and then told me that she refunded it but next time don't be rude or mean to her employees. I asked what she was talking about because I was not mean or rude and she tells me the girl is crying in the back who based on things we overheard might of been her daughter. Then she starts walking away fast as I am trying to ask her what she is talking about and trying to tell her that I was neither mean nor rude but she did not give me a chance to speak to her. She starts yelling I'm done with you, get out of here! Both my husband and I as well as another customer were looking around thinking what is going on. Other people agreed that nothing I did was mean or rude. I simply pointed out that I was overcharged and did not even get a chance to show her the whole receipt. After this happened the manager that yelled at me, another lady that was with her the whole time and both cashiers hid in the back. My husband tried to go over to where they went to speak to the manager so we could find out where the misunderstanding was and she refused to come out. At this point we wanted to return everything we purchased but she would not come out. Then he walked around the farm to see if there was someone else we could speak to and he was told there was no other managers there. I own a business and I can't imagine every treating a customer like this. Even if she witnessed a customer being mean or rude to an employee she should never yell at a customer and tell them to leave the way she did but for her to not witness the situation and accuse someone of something that she did not see and did not happen brings it to a whole different level. Someone like this should not be in customer service. We are very upset at this whole experience. We suggest you think twice of visiting Fishkill Farms if this is the type of employees they keep. We did not think to look at reviews ahead of time but after our experience we started to look and we see we are not the only ones who have had a bad experience with a rude employee.

Yelp
My first time ever seeing an apple tree and getting to pick my own apples! Such a fun experience! We reserved our time through the website and chose the Pick-Your-Own Apple Package for $40 that is good for up to 5 people plus 1 half-bushel bag. We drove on the unpaved road all the way to a small parking area near the Pink Lady apples and walked around from there. We were amazed and overwhelmed with all those beautiful apple trees full of apples! The Pink Lady ones that we could reach didn't look very good so we moved to ones next to it which were Rome and I think Jonagold apples. They looked so good! We filled over half of our bag with them and then drove to the other side and got some Golden Delicious. Perfect road trip snack, since we live in NC and we drove back home that same day. Besides the 'Pick your own', they have a Cider Bar, a farm store, pumpkin patch, and a corn maze. I definitely recommend their apple cider donuts with sugar! It's one of the best donuts I've tried. My husband enjoyed their cider as well. The cider bar area is nice and cozy and I love the view of the farm. - Reservations are required to participate in pick-your-own. - Dogs are allowed in the property (but they can't go inside the farm store or in patches of course); - They have free parking; - They have portable restrooms near the parking lot and I saw some near the apple trees as well.

Yelp
Great place to take kids, and probably the closest pick-your-own to the city. Lots of different varieties of apples, and prices are fair for what ends up being a fun day out. Only downside in my opinion is sanitation - there are no proper bathrooms, only portable toilets, though they do provide soap and running water.

Yelp
The apple picking was really fun! Walk around and pick apples while trying some delicious fruit! The store had all sorts of treats and I appreciated the hot cocoa and hot coffee on a cold day. But if you go you have to try the donuts! They are amazing!

Yelp
I'm going to compare this farm to a Long Island apple picking farm that I went to last year since these were the only two times I've went apple picking recently since I was a child. Fishkill is hands down better in every single way than the Long Island farm (Lewin farms). The property at Fishkill is humongous, everything is well labeled, signs everywhere, the apple trees are plentiful and they look taller and healthier than the apple trees in Long Island. The apple trees in LI are super short. The pumpkin patch is awesome over here, convenient to weigh and check out too. There's a super wide variety of apples and they were excellent. We baked some apple pies and it tasted amazing. The only thing missing at Fishkill is a brewery, perhaps even some local beer instead of just cider. The food choices here weren't too bad. They were all busy as heck, especially the cider donut joint. Verdict - Coming here was a pain, dealing with ton of traffic in Queens and on the Hutch. But since the experience here was so memorable and pleasant, I think we may just make this place our annual go to spot for apple picking. It's a beautiful well landscaped farm. The only minor problem I had here was when we exited the farm. They ask to check your trunk which is fine, they don't want anyone stealing product without paying of course. But in our case, I bought 3 pumpkins. For some reason at checkout, the person put the PAID sticker on the bottom of one of our pumpkins and the guy who was checking our car started to get a little rude about this. He didn't locate the sticker, and little did I know the sticker was under the pumpkin. He ended up letting us go when I kept swearing to him that I paid for it. I discovered the PAID sticker under the pumpkin a few days later when I moved 2 out of 3 pumpkins inside to our house because a raccoon or squirrel busted one wide open and ate through it. With that aside, I definitely recommend Fishkill farms. Reservations online are required, it makes everything easier too. You get your apple bag when you arrive at the parking booth. We went on a Saturday, it was busy as heck but still very enjoyable. I can imagine this place to be very peaceful on a weekday for apple picking.

Yelp
How we love Fishkill Farms! We came during peak season, on a weekend, this year, which made for quite a different experience than our quiet, early season weekday picking last year. There were live bands, numerous food carts, apple cider donuts, a corn maze, hayrides, long lines. Slightly overwhelming for this country mouse, but fun for the kids and clearly many other adults. What I loved: the huge expanse of fields filled with good, organic produce, including a huge variety of apples and pears, late season berries and tomatoes when we visited. In addition to the common apples found in NY state (cortlands, macouns, romes, empires, etc...) There are many less-famous varietals including blanc d'hiver and a golden (really deep bronze) apple varietal that was so incomparably delicious -- crisp and sweet -- that I badly overindulged the first few days after picking with, ah... consequences. ;) Small seckel pears were sweet as honey. All apple trees and apples we encountered were healthy, the orchards alive with honey bees gathering all they could for the winter ahead. A friendly, roaming fiddler named Ian was such a bright star during our visit, too, bringing beautiful music, good cheer, and good advice re: peak season pickings. We had a wonderful picnic with friends under a covered tent / gazebo behind the main store. We brought food given their dietary restrictions, but did pick up some fabulous cold pressed cider from the farm store to share. All vegetables, berries and eggs are organic, as are a third of the apples. The remainder of the apples are "eco certified" which means that they use no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides and minimize the use of even natural fertilizers and pesticides where possible. So far, Fishkill is still for me a perfect balance of wholesome apple picking and fall carnival. The latter seems to be largely unavoidable at large farms / orchards in this season. Visitors are comfortably colorful (as Mercedes would say ;), representative of NYS in all its variations. Hope that the wonderful sense of hospitality at Fishkill stays strong.

Yelp
I look forward to apple picking at Fishkill Farms every year. They have a larger variety of apples and pears, especially ones that you can't get at grocery stores. Being able to drive on the orchard makes it very convenient when you have to carry a bushel of apples around, but be sure to wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Their apple cider doughnuts are my absolute favorite doughnut and I always get a dozen to go. Perfectly moist and they are especially great when they are just-made and still warm. A bottle of the apple cider is also a must! The staff keeps everything well- organized even when it gets busy. They've been professional, friendly and courteous every time I've visited the farm.

Yelp
5 stars if I'm just rating the experience but I have to deduct one star because it's way more expensive than other PYO farms I'm familiar with in upstate NY. Truly, I would recommend this place for a visit to the farm store and the cider bar but unless you're coming with a large group I recommend visiting other farms for PYO.

Yelp
I just called to ask If could bring my dog into the market area (it's in barn with the barn doors open and not inside a formal building), and this nice lady yells aggressively NO, NO, NO!!! I went there last week and had a nice experience, guess I'll have too keep looking for professional place with decent, polite humans. It's ok she doesn't want dogs, but at least BE KIND about it!

Yelp
If there's no fruit to pick, they shouldn't be selling tickets to pick the fruit. We reserved at 10:15 to pick blueberries, but even at that early hour there was almost nothing on the bushes. Hours later they send out an email - though not to us - offering a refund or pre picked blueberries - but by then we had already picked a scant 2 pints, including a lot of not quite ripe berries, so too bad for us. You pay a premium to make a reservation. It's only really worthwhile if you purchase additional items to pick once you're there, but again if there's no fruit to pick, there is nothing to add on. (We did purchase an additional 2 pints but returned it when we discovered there were no berries to pick.) All in all a wasted half day. There must a better way to handle such a situation; at the very least send out the email first thing in the morning, but if not how about making it clear to the early. Omers what the situation is.

Yelp
OVERCROWDED and that's not the farms fault at all but the 2 hour donut line that has zero sense of urgency feels like poor planning. They ran out of water at almost all vendors. It's just chaos! The lanes were picked dry - I think they oversell their reservations and make it impossible to even enjoy because the lines are obscene. There is more than enough space to out another donuts line somewhere else. sell them in more than one space!

Yelp
My partner and I love stopping by Fishkill Farms every time we spend time in upstate NY. The apple cider is always delicious, same with the apple cider donuts. It's also a great place to bring your dogs. We bring our two dogs on a leash and they always have a great time sniffing in the little grassy area next to the store, and they even love the grassy parking lot. On a recent trip, they didn't have hot apple cider anymore because they were shutting down right before the holidays, but they heated the their cold cider for us because we were looking forward to drinking something hot -- a really nice gesture. Can't wait to visit again the next time we're here.

Yelp
Just not worth it anymore. We've been several times over the years, but the price has gotten very high -- in this case, $38 for two quarts (or $19 a quart) for cherries and you have to make a reservation and pay in advance. Which means you're committed and once you get in the fields and not too happy with the quality of the fruit, you're stuck. Such was the case with our cherry-picking experience -- so much overripe and underripe fruit on trees and you really, really had to look for ones that were just right. But again, you can't, um, cherry-pick too much when you're trying to fill two quarts. Why can't they go to a system that allows you pay for what you pick after you pick? And to add insult to injury, there were much better cherries available in their farm store for $12 a quart. (Isn't u-pick supposed to be cheaper???!!! You're doing the labor, after all.) Again, very disappointed -- and I would caution others to consider this before you pay for that reservation. And... BTW, a quick check found other u-pick farms in Dutchess Country charging half the price we paid!

Yelp
I remember coming here every year and leaving with bags of fruit and having a great time. It's disappointing when the experience has fell short. Before you enter the picking area there is the farm store and area for bbq. We got some grilled corn for $3 each and it did not taste grilled at all and was undercooked. They give you some cheap DIY seasoning that you find at the dollar store with a bucket of butter and a tiny community plastic knife to spread your butter. My experience at the farm store also fell short due the lack of organization of the cashiers and pastry/coffee table. The apple cider donuts are self serve so you grab what you want from the tray. People would pick their donuts opening and closing the tray multiple times, granted there is no line and not watched over by any of the staffs so a lot of skipping was involved. The cashier section also has no true form of a line. The staffs are mostly teens and did not make an effort to work efficiently or helped forming lines, they did not call for the next customer and just waited for whoever came up to them first to check out (lots of skipping involved here too), and was too busy chatting with each other. The portable potty bathrooms is the worst of it all. Buckets of poop and urine in all stalls where you can see EVERYTHING filling up. No soap to wash your hands in the outdoor sink, just a stand of hand sanitizer. I didn't leave with much fruit as I did before, maybe because everything else in the beginning made me so disappointed by this place.

Yelp
I thought it would be a quaint apple orchard but it ended up being a huge farm. Drove from NYC with a group of friends and it was a very smooth ride less than 2 hours. Coming from the city, you can feel the drastic difference in air quality . We signed up for apple picking and arrived an hour before our reservation time but were still allowed to check in. All the staff we came in contact were friendly. There was so much land to roam around and lots of apple varieties to choose from. It's very kid friendly (although the hayride can feel like plane turbulence at some spots on the route). There were vendors with great Mexican food, live music and animals to look at- they do stress that it's not a petting zoo so keep a safe distance. Can't wait to come back the next harvest season!
