The apps and mains that we had were very good. The vibe felt like dining in the living room of a nicely decorated home. When we went there were a number of things that weren't available at the time, however. Staff was friendly and helpful too. Would not recommend the panna cotta. It was very liquid.

A friend and I went to Fishtag for dinner and it was a little hard to find being that they are nestled between two brownstones. But once we found it and walked down the stairs, fell in love with the dim lighting and the exposed bricks. The ambience had a feel of a sexy dungeon. The menu is not set as a regular menu. It goes from a softer taste to stronger taste at the bottom which was different but intriguing. We sat in the back of the restaurant which was a nice open space. For appetizers we had a plate of their cheeses which was divine and had wines pairings on the menu. We had a bottle of Riesling and I had the mussels for dinner. My friend had the special which was fish in a lemon sauce that was out of this world. The wait staff was courteous and timely. We are planning on going back there very soon.

I had dinner here over the weekend. Food was on-point. We got Lobster Bruschetta and Smoked Octopus as starters. The Grilled Striped Bass was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The roasted Salmon with spicy yogurt and red wine vinaigrette went beyond your typical Salmon dinner. This Mediterranean restaurant served us simple yet immaculate gourmet dishes. Their Menu comes with Wine suggestions per dish. We had a slight wait to be seated but the food really made it worth while. This was a nice find. I never thought I'd find such a restaurant in these parts of NYC. Bottom line, good fresh seafood done right.

A wonderful experience. Our hotel offered a few places but when they came back with generic options, we looked online and found this place close by. It wasn't busy, which made us wonder but the service and food were excellent. The smoked octopus was the best version I've ever had and the swordfish, the same; just fantastic.

When my fiance lived on the UWS, this was our go to spot for a nice dinner in the neighborhood. Low key but with great food and even better service, Fishtag has been a regular fixture for us every time we're back in the city. The food is delicious (get the octopus and the sheep's milk dumplings) and reasonably priced. The wine list is also great with some solid affordable selections. I recently took a group there after proposing to my then girlfriend and the staff couldn't have been better. They not only set aside a large table for us but was willing to open a little early to accommodate us after the marathon. I can't say enough about Greg the manager and Tony the assistant manager for helping me with that. TL;DR - stop by, you won't be disappointed.

If you're in the mood for fish, a very good choice. Great smoked fish appetizers, cool salads (the "spoon" salad with smoked feta was great), and a mostly fish set of entres, beautifully presented. I had roast salmon, my wife branzino, and both were perfectly cooked. They have an interesting array of cocktails and decent wines by the bottle or glass. The atmosphere is relatively quiet, with small tables that are pretty widely spaced, nice venue for a romantic dinner.

We had a fantastic family meal. The foods was delicious, the drinks were well crafted and unique and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The service was attentive and the server's recommendations were very helpful.

Had our thanksgiving meal here. The turducken was absolutely delicious - tender meat that is cooked evenly throughout, with a thin layer of crispy skin and topped with creamy gravy. The appetizer prawn brochette was to die for - it's like setting off a flavor firework in your mouth - so many different ingredients that go so perfectly together. The dessert was a bit of a mixed bag for me. While the walnut ice cream was great, I felt the apple pie was too tart for my liking (even the ice cream couldn't mask the tartness). That said, I'd definitely come back again and check out the rest of their menu!
