A heads up: don't come here if you're only on Vrångö for a day trip as you will spend an inordinate amount of time waiting around.
Our visit to Fiskeboa cost us time we could've had on the beach, marina or the playground on this beautiful island.
Came for lunch late July - place was extremely busy, but the restaurant had ample seating, suggesting they knew how to handle the demand.
Plenty of people placing orders - the service counter indicated hot food would take 20 minutes to prepare, which I found acceptable.
Why then over 1 hour later was our party, including small children, still waiting for food?
1 hour to prepare 5 plates of fish & chips seems excessive.
A lukewarm apology and no explanation from a server suggested it's commonplace here. No consideration or engagement with their customers in the meantime, almost seemed they hoped people would forget they'd even ordered in the first place. Certainly looking around at the other tables' lack of food supported this notion.
The disappointment would have been lessened if the food was worth it, but the fish was quite mushy rather than flaky and the batter, whilst crispy, was not particularly flavourful.
I saw more people enjoying their experience on the other side of the island, close to the ferry terminal.
