Scandinavia: The New Face of the European Summer Holiday

A harbourside spot serving a delicious classic Swedish seafood dinner, this restaurant offered crayfish cooked with lemon, dill and beer, smoked blue mussels and smoked shrimp eaten traditionally with white bread and aioli, plus mayonnaise and a mango, honey and chilli dip. The meal, thanks to owners Andreas Wijk and Jennie Wijk, felt like an indulgent celebration of fresh local seafood in a relaxed waterside setting. - Diana Jarvis

Well they just decided to write we are closing the kitchen at 16 in chalk, even when the sign clearly stated kitchen is open until 17. Extremely unprofessional. This is a great way to permanently lose returning customers. So a warning to all that come here avoid this place since you can't count on it being open.

The food here is absolutely fantastic, the fish was cooked perfectly and tasted really fresh. The portion sizes were good too, and reasonable prices – around £15 per person for our main meal and a drink. The staff are friendly and helpful, particularly as I don't speak much Swedish. Would definitely eat here again!

The restaurant is cozy with just a few tables inside a charming glasshouse. It’s all about the freshest fish, caught locally and prepared simply but with great quality. The menu isn’t fancy, but everything is exceptional and delicious. A must-visit for seafood lovers seeking a relaxed, intimate setting.

A good quality restaurant located in the harbour of Vrångö, with seating both outdoor and indoor, with views of both fishing boats and the sea. Tasteful seafood from local places, all dishes we have tasted have been good. Perfect stop after exploring the island.

Tugged on the edge of the island, the restaurant serves fresh seafood with a nice view of the port. The staff are very friendly and the service was good. They have a small menu based on the month and a decent size of drinks choice. It was a hard decision to choose between fish&chips and smoked salmon, but I went for salmon...and it was fabulous. Perfectly smoked and the nice potato gratin with a couple of mussels to try is the best combination. The price to quality ratio is also very good and you would not get disappointed by any of their dishes.

Nice place to visit for a luncheon after a short, picturesque walk from the ferry on this small island. No table service: Order at the window, take to your seat and bus your own table. Good fish and chips. They had a small (loud) indoor seating area and more seats outside under tiny umbrellas, with picnic tables.

A heads up: don't come here if you're only on Vrångö for a day trip as you will spend an inordinate amount of time waiting around. Our visit to Fiskeboa cost us time we could've had on the beach, marina or the playground on this beautiful island. Came for lunch late July - place was extremely busy, but the restaurant had ample seating, suggesting they knew how to handle the demand. Plenty of people placing orders - the service counter indicated hot food would take 20 minutes to prepare, which I found acceptable. Why then over 1 hour later was our party, including small children, still waiting for food? 1 hour to prepare 5 plates of fish & chips seems excessive. A lukewarm apology and no explanation from a server suggested it's commonplace here. No consideration or engagement with their customers in the meantime, almost seemed they hoped people would forget they'd even ordered in the first place. Certainly looking around at the other tables' lack of food supported this notion. The disappointment would have been lessened if the food was worth it, but the fish was quite mushy rather than flaky and the batter, whilst crispy, was not particularly flavourful. I saw more people enjoying their experience on the other side of the island, close to the ferry terminal.

This was absolutely amazing - it was a sunny day so there was no service and only one bathroom so if you need it, you're waiting. It seemed like everyone there was from elsewhere. We had the shrimp box, herring and smoked mackeral. Absolutely great. I wanted thentic herring and this place delivered
