Where To Eat & Drink With Your Dog - New York - The Infatuation

"The taproom at this Sunset Park brewery is open Thursday through Sunday, meaning you can drink hazy IPAs, pumpkin ales, and cereal-infused stouts a few feet from where they’re made. Whether you know all four “noble” varieties of hops or you just like trying local beers that haven’t gone mainstream yet, sit around an upright cask that doubles as your outdoor table, and ask the extremely knowledgeable staff which six-packs you should take to-go." - team infatuation

16 Top Dog-Friendly Restaurants and Bars in NYC | Eater NY

"This Sunset Park brewery and bar has an industrial vibe, a variety of board and card games, and allows dogs, a rare option for bringing a pet somewhere indoors on a rainy day. There’s no outdoor space, but there are plenty of tables and seating. Expect over a dozen beers on tap, available in half-pour and flight format, too, and wine and cider for the beer-averse. Five Borough doesn’t have food, but takeout can be brought in from elsewhere." - Alexandra Ilyashov

I visit new breweries whenever I can and decided to pay a visit to Five Boroughs during my stay in New York. The brewery has a single indoor space with no separation. No food is present except bagged snacks. They have a table with boardgames and a small area for kids to play. It felt like the area is not insulated well as it was pretty chilly inside. The beers are just OK. Nothing more. They are not bad, but also they do not add anything new to the craft beer scene. The tap list is heavy in IPAs and has several European options as well. You can order a beer flight of 5 to try multiple beers. I was not impressed by any of my choices. If you do not search for craft beers, they should be fine - the beers are really safe and generic. This is a nice place to hang out with your friends, but if you're looking for anything new in the beer styles - you might want to look elsewhere.

I discovered Five Boroughs Brewing during a walk in the neighborhood of Sunset Park. I veered off my normal path saw some folks hanging out outside of a well lit place and went in to check it out. The weekend vibe in this establishment is very professional and casual at the same time. The taproom was absolutely spotless and filled with patrons enjoying themselves. I was there to late to take a brewery tour, but got the chance to try a few different beers. Overall I found this to be a great place to grab a drink and hangout with good company. They dont have much in terms of bar snacks, but you are encouraged to order or bring your own food. Totally looking forward to returning soon.

Huge fan of these guys, did their gas service a few years back, it was the first time hearing of them .. Down to earth place, great guys, clean & great place to hang out .. it’s nice to see the expansion, I just picked up a pack of the imperial gridlock far out on Long Island 🔥 Cheers everyone 🍻

Google
Large tap room and a 30-barrel brewing facility located in an old steel factory. 12 house-brewed beers on tap, served as a full or half pour to stay, and in growlers to go. Prices starting at $5. Complete with an elevated stage for live performances and a gift shop. Oh and it's dog friendly!

While it might be slightly off the beaten path (at least for me), this place is legit with great beers, atmosphere and service. Kid friendly with games and large tables. Will be back.

Google
Local beer. Industrial setting. Board games. Ample seating. Handicap accessible Bring a growler to have more at home. Good beer and it's getting better They do flights, but don't order flights when it's crowded. Good lighter beers. And they aren't all about crazy stupid flavors

As a fan of Craft Beer it was great to be able to visit Five Boroughs Brewing Co on a visit to to Brooklyn in June 2019. Brooklyn has a number of excellent established and upcoming Breweries and well worth a visit. We’d been to the Brooklyn Brewery a few years ago so when we stayed in Fort Greene it was good to see what other breweries we could visit we hadn’t before. Five Boroughs looked to have a good Tap Room along with a good selection of beers. We visited on a Saturday late afternoon and the Brewery was lively and looked to be busy with both locals and visitors. The Tap Room is spacious with plenty of seating and light from the large windows at the front. There is a good selection of beers on tap, I particularly liked the United by Beer. The staff were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere. Well worth a visit and we’ll be back next time we’re that way.

Came here on a Thursday night to play games and try their beers. I didn't realize they close by 10pm on Thursdays so we only got about 90 minutes of playing/drinking time. I got their beer flight: 5 - 5oz pours for $14. Pretty good deal. Their shandy was absolutely delicious: crisp and refreshing. I could drink a gallon of it and not be sorry. LoL. Their game selections are on point also. The pieces are a bit sticky but what do you expect from board games at a bar? I guess my point of contention, and the reason this place only gets 3 stars is the service. It was not a busy night at all. I'd say there were 10 people there, plus our group of 5. The bartender couldn't be arsed to walk away from his conversation to serve me. I stood there, at the bar, money in my hand, for an uncomfortable amount of time, just staring at the bartender and at the beer taps as he talked to his friend. I get that you must be engrossed in such an interesting conversation but you're there to work Mr. Bartender, not hang out with your friends. You can easily serve me my drinks and then go right back to hanging out with your friend. I've read in other reviews that the service here isn't great and I just lay witness to it. It's a shame because the beers are great. The prices are reasonable and the space itself is beautiful. I feel like I'd come back here again just for the beers but I won't be expecting to be blown away by 5 star service.

Yelp
Back to the NYC craft brew scene with Five Boroughs Brewing! Steve and I had two different beers of theirs and we enjoyed them quite a bit! The first beer we had was the Pilsner. The flavors to detect in this beer are hoppy, bitter, clean and strong. The other beer was the City Light, a lager with clean, sweet, dry and malty. It was very light bodied as well. Both beers had bite to them for sure. The lager especially which made it unusual as lagers typically aren't but it was a good beer experience regardless and it was also good to get this brewery I have been wanting to try checked off my list!

Yelp
Really nice brewery. Very cool spot with a modern industrial vibe. Came in with some friends to try a flight and liked the beers, although they were good; not great. Server was well informed. Lots of seating and they also have a bunch of board games to play while you're there.

Yelp
While in the area trying to kill some time, we decided to stop by this brewery. It wasn't very busy, but it was a good chill time on a Sunday afternoon here. I like that it's also dog-friendly, so my pup was able to hang out with us. I'm not much of a beer drinker, so got myself a Good Mood Hard Kombucha in Lemonade flavor. This was quite delicious and I actually enjoyed the refreshing taste. The boyfriend had a couple beers that he enjoyed as well. They also offer boardgames for you to enjoy here. Note that they don't have food, except bags of chips. You are welcome to bring in your own food though.

Yelp
Cue Barry Manilow: Her name was "Dulce," she was a Brew Cat. It's no secret I love a good brewery, and it's no secret I'm a cat-holic. I purposefully seek out opportunities for the two worlds to collide, so I bopped up to Brooklyn for a self-guided brewery cat tour. When my first three stops yielded no cat sightings, I didn't have much hope for Five Boroughs. Luckily enough, when I name dropped "Dulce," the bartender offered me the opportunity to meet the Queen herself. Precious, baby, box-sitting Dulce, as sweet as her name alludes. Cat aside, Five Boroughs is a real gem. It's open, spacious, and inconspicuously located among neighboring warehouses and quiet streets. The beer is plentiful, and tasty, and on a Sunday night, they had football on their TV. There's lot of seating and board game options. One could easily spend copious amounts of time hanging out. To top it off - the bathrooms were clean and the bartender was incredibly friendly. It was quiet on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and I really enjoyed sitting at the bar, sipping a brew, and flipping through the local magazines (and meeting Dulce). I wish it was easier to get to - it's kinda in a spooky, unassuming part of town (at least in the rainy darkness), and the closest subway isn't super close. No food, which is par for most breweries in NY. Some of the best beers of our NY visit were at Five Boroughs. We'll definitely be back, if not only to see Cat Queen, Dulce.

Yelp
This brewing co is hidden amongst industrial buildings. It was a surprise when we pulled up because it's the only bar in the area. Totally modern beer garden. They serve popcorn (bags) but otherwise they welcome take-out. The bartenders are incredibly kind and always remember us when we visit. The beer is great too! AND great prices. Flights are $15 each.

Yelp
Beer here was pretty great, really enjoyed their IPA and fest beers. The space is industrial with a very high ceiling -- not my favorite vibe but kind of fun to have music bouncing all around.

Yelp
Remotely located in an unassuming section of Sunset Park. Moderately sized interior with both bar and table seating throughout. Sixteen different beers on draft, with 10oz. and pint-sized options available. Started off with the Sticky Sticky IPA ($7), a collaboration alongside Twin Elephant Brewing, a creamy and citrus hop ale. Second round was the Oscura Lager ($7) - a caramel amber that would pair well with food. Speaking of, only some chip/popcorn options to snack on, though they do let you order around for delivery. Vibe for a Saturday evening was more mellow than expected. Service is solid as the one bartender was enough for the crowd. Good for a quick beer at a reasonable price.

Yelp
Beer + board games = my kind of place. We came by on a Sunday afternoon in November and it wasn't packed at all. The brewery seems very kid friendly as there were many of the board games that were kid appropriate (sorry, connect 4, candyland.) and all the pieces were there! Our 4 year old had fun playing games with us as we tried out several of the beers there. We enjoyed the Tiny Juicy IPA, Guest beers from Endless Life Brewing include the coop beer Mat Overboard (very good). I was not a fan of the hard seltzer - Strawberry Mojito and will stick with the beers next time. Looking forward coming again with some friends for board game and beer fun.

Yelp
I've sort of kicked my beer habit in recent years, opting for lighter, hard seltzers, which is very in line with the tastes of my generation, but the beer at Five Boroughs makes me feel no regrets. Every beer that I tried at the taproom had a very smooth, crisp taste that I don't always connote with beer and reminded me why I used to love beer in the first place. I enjoy the buzz I get from beer more so than from any spirit, and I didn't feel heavy and full after a couple of the lighter drinks they had on tap. Their taproom is quite spacious, with a big open room and high ceilings. Since drinking inside is verboten in NYC right now, I perched myself on one of their outdoor seats they have set up under tents. With outdoor drinking though we are at the mercy of Mother Nature, and while it didn't rain, this is a particularly windy street, and gusts of wind sent their plastic chairs moving and their tents shaking, but their employees came out to help make everything more secure, which was really nice of them! My favorites include the really refreshing "Just Add Lime," the seasonal pumpkin ale, and the citrusy summer ale. I appreciate that their menu includes a wide range of ABVs, from lighter ~4% ABV to stronger 11% ABV drinks, so you can decide what kind of adventure you want to go on. The folks who work here are super friendly and they allow you to bring food to drink alongside their beer. The vibe is great and I could easily spend a whole afternoon here playing cards with friends, getting some food delivered, and sipping on their very delicious beer, pandemic times or not.

Yelp
Five Boroughs Brewing Co. Sometimes I get lazy when writing reviews. I really don't mean to, but ya know, life gets in the way and occasionally I just experience way too many new places all at once. I mean it's not like I visited Five Boroughs Brewing Co. months ago. It was only a few weeks back, at the beginning of December, but if my experience (good or bad) isn't anything that makes me want to start those fingers typing, then I'd say it tells you something. Hmm... Well the first thing that my brain tells me is that I don't often find myself in such a deep part of Brooklyn. It was due to my buddy and his girlfriend that had us traveling so far west, but due to some Yelping and our opportunistic location, we ended up at FBBC. I'm glad we did as I've known of them for a few years now, having only sampled a handful of their beers. Of memorableness, only Tiny Juicy (their hazy-ish session IPA) stood out in my mind for flavor. They did brew a beer for the broadway show Come From Away which is...cool, but not something I'd have again. Regardless of what's in cans, you'll get more straight from the source anyway and I was excited for that. Walking into Five Boroughs I got a feel which reminded me of a few other tap rooms (KCBC for one) though this shouldn't necessarily be a strong negative. Their lax style and semi-low lit vibe set a chill mood for the hour or so we were there. The staff, on the other hand, was mixed on their welcoming, perhaps having a little too much of the "Brooklyn hipster vibe" going on. Needless to say, it didn't stop us from ordering up a flight and a couple of pints. Being the driver, I sampled some sips of that flight, sharing with my buddy. The menu was a variety of IPAs and a few lager-style brews so we tried to mix together a little of everything. Looking back, I suppose I would've loved to see a stout or brown ale (something for the cold weather perhaps?), but maybe I'm jumping the gun (I mean it was only early December). And c,mon, Josh, you have to give credit where credit is due. Five Boroughs did have WinterPenn on tap, their winter warmer beer, which we totally tried amidst our flight. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything memorable as the spices it mentions didn't really come forward. This could've also been due to having just tried Circa's out of this world winter warmer beer only hours prior, but even so... I will give "mad props" to Tic Tac Toe, a session IPA (different from Tiny Juicy) that really hit the palate nicely and was more of a shining memory of the place. I'm also totally not going to forgo mentioning the Industry Ale which was brewed in association with nearby Industry City (a spot I still need to check out). So it's not like Five Boroughs is doing anything wrong here, but perhaps they're just getting a little, just a smidge, too meshed together with any other ol' brewery. In the ever-growing beer scene, some originality is needed. Just sayin'. Overall, I like Five Boroughs, don't get me wrong. They have a few great beers and several of them are canned and available near distributors by me, giving further opportunity to try more of their stuff. Though when it comes to the tap room and the entire experience of the place, I find myself at around 3.5 stars, heading south. This strongly goes against their Yelp review star total, though maybe it's just me and feeling like my history with their beers and what I've tried doesn't stand out or constitute the four star salute. If/when I find myself in the area again (perhaps for Industry City?) I'll consider another trip here in hopes that there's a little more to be loved. Only time will tell in the land of the Boroughs.

Yelp
Beer gets 5 stars but service is terrible 0 star. Went to this brewery on Sunday and for a Sunday it was crowded with a group of runners. I was sitting by the bar with a friend and waited for the bar tender to help us and he just ignored us. I asked the bartender to help us being that it was just me and my friend and he said he couldn't. They should really get a real bartender someone who knows how to multitask and is able to handle this type of situation.

Yelp
Came here with a page out of the Brooklyn Pub Pass. I've always been intrigued by Five Boroughs since trying their hoppy lager awhile back. I walked in here today and was greeted by two dogs at the door. There's literally no better greeting in my opinion. As I made my way to the bar, I was warmly welcomed by two more adorable doggies with slobbery kisses. It's safe to say that Five Boroughs is super dog-friendly. This brewery is in a heavily industrial area, so if you walk here from the train you become very aware of your surroundings once you get past third avenue. Don't be discouraged by all the warehouses, you'll eventually reach the beacon of craft beer after a couple blocks of factories. Besides from all the loveable puppers, their beer selection was on point! They had a few interesting choices, which included their Dunkel and Honey lager. Both were delicious; their Dunkel was dark and malty with hints of chocolate and caramel, and their honey lager was refreshing and sweet. They also have a Czech Pilsner which is traditional and satisfying. They offer different sizes of beer if you want to sample the different styles they have and also have flights available too. Since they don't have their own kitchen, they have snacks available for purchase and allow you to bring in your food. They also have board games available in the back if your conversation is lacking or if you're just in the mood for some good old fashioned competition. The bartenders were very attentive. They were ready to refill my glass at every last sip. I am very eager to return to rekindle/initiate new friendships with adorable doggos and also sip on kick-ass beer! I hope Five Boroughs is here to stay.

Yelp
Stopped into Five Boroughs Brewing Co on Saturday afternoon. It is a relatively simple brewery with decent beers and a nice space. Worth a stop when in the area or picking up their beers around town, but not a place I would specifically journey back to. Quality: I see Five Boroughs Brewing Co beer all the time in stores and finally had a chance to visit. The beer selection was relatively small with only nine listed on the menu and two out of stock. I ended up trying three of the offerings Tiny Juicy IPA, Summer Ale, and Sunset Shandy Lemonade. I think my favorite of the bunch was Sunset Shandy Lemonade, though I believe it was highly influenced by the temperature and our decision to walk to the brewery. It was refreshing and found a good balance without becoming too citrusy. The other beers were perfectly fine, but none of the, really stood out as something we needed to leave with. Quantity: They were only doing pints during our visit, I would've liked tasters to get a full sense of their offerings. Value: $7 for a Draft Beer. Ambiance: Five Boroughs Brewing Co is located in an old warehouse in Sunset Park. It is an area with very little except for garages and warehouses, so it is easy to spot. They had a pretty nice outdoor setup, though it could have used a few umbrellas. I also appreciated how easily they opened up the windows and doors, making it feel like you were outside even when sitting in the taproom. The indoor area has a bunch of high-tops and a few long tables for big groups. It didn't have too much else going on, though it did look like they could easily set up a large screen. I loved the music in the background, a mix of samba and funk that was excellent. Crowd: Considering the remote location there was a fair amount of guests. The beautiful weather definitely drove folks out, and it was a popular destination for bike groups. Service: They are currently using table QR codes so that orders and payments are done from the table. It is an efficient system, but it misses out on the interaction with staff where you learn about the beers. Parking: Tons of street parking directly in front of the brewery.

Yelp
I was so excited to visit Five Boroughs because who doesn't need a cold beer on a scorching summer day. Their taproom opens at 4pm on Friday. I arrived at around 5pm and was surprised to see that most of the tables are occupied. As other Yelper mentioned about the QR code ordering, you can now order at the bar which is supposed to be helpful to me as a first-timer. I always ask for recommendation when I am at a brewery but I didn't this time. I walked to the bar and told this guy that this is my first time here. People usually replied back with some recommendation but this guy gave me no smiles so I figured not to bother this time. I asked for sampling. He gave me what I requested. I then proceeded to order and he replied back with "um-hum" in an uncaring tone. He did his job but I just didn't feel welcome and left with a bad taste in my mouth.

Yelp
Last weekend I got to visit Five Boroughs Brewing for my first time and I LOOOOOOOOVED IT. They had some really fantastic beers here - a really nice diverse selection too. My absolute favorite one here was their HONEY LAGER it's a collab beer with Dylan Sprouse's new venture - All Wise Meadery (who's taproom I can't wait to open!). Five Boroughs Brewing's Honey Lager is a Bavarian Helles with a twist- a large portion of the fermentable sugars come from Orange Blossom honey from Tremblay Apiaries in update NYC. Pilsner and Vienna malts bring a rounded maltiness but the honey is the star. Although the sweetness is gone the essence of the honey remains w/ unique apricot/citrus notes that are accentuated by the bone dry finish. BASICALLY, IT'S DELISH AF and at 5% ABV it's very sessionable. The ambiance here is that of your typical brewery, nice and big - great lighting regardless if it's early afternoon or nighttime. If I lived closer to here I would definitely be a regular.

Yelp
Good beer house with a dozen beers on tap and more options by the can. Location in Sunset Park is a bit remote but it's worth a stop. Laid back vibe.

Yelp
Came here on their grand opening around 7pm where there was a decent crowd with no seating left. I was surprised to see people with babies and kids.. especially in a brewery but I guess it's suppose to be family friendly. Good selection of mostly IPA's but absolutely no dark beers so my friends and I weren't entire impressed. I got both the Double IPA and Mango Saison both of which I liked but it was half the quantity they offered for the same price as the Wheat Pilsner. For $7, the Double IPA and Mango Saison came in half pour while for the same price, the Wheat Pilsner came in full pour. Not a huge deal I guess but I wonder what the reason for the pricing is. There was a photo booth in the back so we had some fun before we left and got two pictures with props they had available. I'm sure they'll only continue to improve as it is their grand opening but come give this place a try for a chill night. There's even a strip club next door. ;)
google avatar

Tony L.

Yelp
My boyfriend runs around the neighborhood and had accidentally stumbled upon this place two months ago before they opened. When we came back at night to check it out, all we saw was the stripper club next door - WOOPS! (Fun Fact: 50 cent owns it). Per chance, we went to a craft beer festival in the city and met the owners who said they'd be opening up the Five Boroughs taproom in a few weeks. When we came back from our trip, we were really excited to check it out. I've grown up in this neighborhood all my life, and while i detest gentrification, I really appreciate the ability to have a quality taproom nearby - makes me feel like I'm upstate in a big microbrewery place like Burlington. The space is large and the furnishing is really cool - lots of wood with a metallic finish atop, which will leave a noticeable ferric smell to your hands. It's both child and dog-friendly, which is a huge plus. They also have board games, so it feels like a nice local place where they care about their patrons. Onto the beer now! We tried all of them via two flights {$12/5 beers, your choice}. To be honest, none of the beers really impressed me, but the Pilsner and the Tiny IPA were solid. The Tiny IPA definitely tastes like it has more hop in it than the 3.5% advertised, and it actually had more punch than the IPA, in my opinion. The Double IPA was a huge let down. We also had the Kentucky Beer Cheese which is a spreadable cheese with Ritz crackers that is a Kentucky local thing. While it's unmarked and difficult to find for those who aren't actively looking for it, I'd say it is worth the trip if you're in the area and are looking for a chill place to chill with friends. The staff is friendly and it's just overall a nice space that Sunset Park has desperately needed for a while.
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
Open and airy, this brewery has a sleek black and metal industrial atmosphere. It has a lot of space to sit, chill and listen to music and watch a game. You can bring food in and even play board games. Also you can bring your friendly pets if that's your sort of thing. They have a variety of beers to choose from and a small and larger options. On this trip they had two dark beers with a coffee undertone. We thought they were both really good light, clean and not to heavy. One was stronger in flavor then the other. Overall, it was a nice place to visit and you should check it out. Easy parking right out front(339)

Yelp
All different types of beer in all different sizes. Typical beer hall atmosphere- laid back and open. Worth a try. You can order food and eat it here which is alright

Yelp
Another cool brewery on the City Brew tours. This place is pretty far from me so I most likely would not have made it here if not for this tour. Theres a small sitting area but I doubt it gets so crazy busy since it's in a remote area. They have a huge brewing in the back that was cool to see. We tried 4 beers- Tiny Juicy IPA, Grapefruit Gridlock, the Winter Penn, and the Gose. The gose was pretty sour and we were told is very close to the original German- style gose. They don't have food but you can order and have it delivered to the brewery. Pretty cool selection of board games too.

Yelp
What can I say? Delicious and fresh beer in an open space in sunset park. Grab a 4 pack to go and visit the park a few blocks away

Yelp
Came here because of my Brooklyn pub pass. This time though instead of scoping it out I also brought a friend. I am really happy I did too because this place was perfect to hangout! The space is huge, they have party games and best of all... the beer is great! It's kind of in a area that is more a less run down so they must have a great rent deal. Not only do they have long shareable tables but there so much empty space that even when its full you don't feel like packed sardine. The amount of space you are given for the shareable tables is also quite generous and allows you to enjoy multiple beers and even a large pizza together! Yes I said pizza. This is one of those breweries that actually don't serve any food except chips or stuff. At times I have found that to be a bit annoying but for here it is not the case. Because of the space you can order basically anything and not disturb others around you. I highly recommend setting up seamless or grubhub or whatever before coming to get the full experience. What is also nice about the space is they offer a lot of fun games for you to distract yourselves. This includes simple suite of cards to more niche party games. Me and my friend had our first session of "bears v.s babies" and we had a blast. The game selection is pretty good since the rules are pretty simple for most of them... great for when you enjoy 3 or 5 or 241 beers! The beer selection was also really good. I think every non-IPA I had here was great though sadly I never got a full glass of honey larger. Surprisingly enough, at least to me, is that they serve not one but two brands of mead here! The one I had was pretty good and made from orange blossom honey. A great experience. In fact it has become of my favorite bar experiences in NYC. I am sure to stop by again to try that tempting honey larger.

Yelp
This place was pretty awesome for the beer lovers! I dropped by on a Saturday night and it was definitely more calm than I expected. So if you're looking for a quick beer with friends and don't want the crazy scene, this is it. Pointers: -doggy friendly even indoors! -TONS of table games available -tables are air yourself and first come first served -at least 8 beers on draft -flights available and CHEAP! Important: No FOOD! BUT you can bring your own or order! They have a stack of local food menus that deliver Not sure if it was a one time thing but the bartender wasn't as welcoming. We asked a question about a particular beer and his response was a bit passive aggressive. He and another employee seemed to be having a disagreement which clearly put him in a bad mood but I don't think it was directed towards the guests so I wasn't offended. Overall, dope spot! And very open space. I believe you can plan events here as well.

Yelp
The location is a little creepy because it's in the industrial area of sunset park. But don't let that stop you from visiting. Cute ambience. Love that the windows open- perfect summer spot. They had games etc We tried the Pilsner, another German-like one and their new honey beeeer!! Oh my goodness. They all look light and weak once pourers, but they were all delicious. So flavorful. Tasted like good fresh beer. Will definitely be back. Bring the kids. Have a beer. Order a pizza. Thy don't have food but you can order take in Friendly bartenders too

Yelp
While visiting the city, I ended up in Brooklyn after walking the Brooklyn Bridge. I wasn't planning on heading to the brewery but we had some extra time and figured why not!! It was easy Lyft ride from the end of the bridge! The brewery is in an industrial area, which I love! They've got a big space to work with! When we arrived, there was maybe 4 other people visiting so we had the bartenders undivided attention to ask many questions and to sample some beer! I opted for the Gose's - a berry variety and the "sweaty ski suit". Both were very delicious! The bartender - forget his name, but I think he said he was from New England...maybe Vermont? Or New Hampshire? I dunno...but he was wearing a Baltimore Orioles shirt. Super chill guy who was very knowledgeable. After chatting we sat at a table and played a couple board games...they've got a nice selection! I think it was prob the nicest weather of the year so far when we visited, and the crowds quickly started building. I'm glad we had a chance to sit and enjoy a few drinks, it was a highlight of my trip and I hope to make it back! For the tourists - it's also near-ish a local subway line - we had to transfer at Barclay center to make it back towards Central Park, but it was very easy to navigate. Also - they had some good merch for purchase and beer to go! Cheers!

Yelp
New addition of beer bar in sunset park! it's abit out of the way from the husting bustling 4th ave, close to industrial part of sunset park and NYU Lutheran. I like the simple decors, tall ceiling, different sizes of beers to try, bartender's pretty nice to let you try it before you place the order! There's no TVs as we were trying to come here for US open, but there's plenty of board games! Don't think they serve food, but they do take credit card!

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday afternoon with a couple of friends. The place was a bit far from the train. The place was larger than I expected. I really liked the open space. They have a lot of tables and plenty of seating. They don't have food but they allow you to bring your own food. You can also get pizza delivered which I saw a lot of people doing. I tried the coffee stout and the Tiny Juicy IPA. The prices were not that bad, $5 for a small beer. The beers were pretty good and they had a great selection. They have group brewery tours or you can just ask one of the staff members for a tour. The staff were really nice and showed us the brewery part. They brew all the beer in the giant tanks at the same place. I would come back to try their other beers and play some board games since they have a good selection.

Yelp
This was a modern brewery somewhat off the beaten path. It is located in a business park. We walked there from the subway and had to dodge some of the ongoing activity (e.g., auto repair shops) along the way. Their pub doesn't have food other than snacks. Patrons can bring their own food or order from nearby restaurants with delivery services. Some menus were available. I just had a flight of a few of their beers. I enjoyed what I had, particularly their Gose. I was there on a weekday afternoon. There weren't very busy when I arrived but things did pick up by the time I left. I would return but their location is a bit difficult to reach for a NYC visitor without a car.

Yelp
Everything about this brewery is great, what a wonderful collection/selection of beers. I strongly recommend getting a flight. The space is large, open & airy. 5 Boroughs Brewing is kid & dog friendly & also allow for outside food to be enjoyed at one of their many tables. As you can imagine there are a multitude of take out options nearby. Also they have FOUR! well maintained, clean restrooms on site. Short review because it's all good.

Yelp
Visited this brewery in late January 2019. I was confused by the location because its basically in a industrial neighborhood that didn't look like a place that could house a brewery. I didn't know what to expect as I parked but, I was pleasantly surprised by the interior when I walked thru the door. They did a great job building the location out. I sat at the bar and ordered a flight. The bartender did a great job teasing out of me what types of beers that I like and more importantly don't like. All of the beers in the flight were solid. I liked the saison the most. I would definitely return to this brewery.

Yelp
Came here on a brewery crawl and it was my favorite of the day! It's a cool spot, very large and industrial looking. There are tons of tables and enough space for our large group on a sunny Saturday afternoon. They had a great selection of board games including Cards Against Humanity. They're also very dog friendly. There were pups everywhere! While they unfortunately don't have any outdoor seating they have a large counter for stool seating along the front windows. They had a really good selection with 16 beers on tap. I tried the Rosé Saison (5.5%) and for $7 got a really generous pour. I also tried the Gose (4% kettle sour) which wad delicious. I ordered a half pour of the Gose for $5. While I guess they don't usually had food, they did have a vendor while I was there who was selling hotdogs ($3) and hamburgers ($4) with a great spread of toppings. While this brewery is certainly out of the way for me, I would consider going back especially for trivia on the first Tuesday of every month

Yelp
I think I've found my happy place. Five Boroughs combines three things I love most in life - beer, board games, and dogs. Let's start with the beers - they're great! The gose (brewed with yogurt) is excellent and was one of my favorites when I first tried it at a beer festival. And unlike certain other new Brooklyn breweries (cough, Circa, cough), Five Boroughs launched with multiple beer styles and actually took the time to ensure that they were all really good. They also do flights, making it easy to do a tasting! I was also a fan of their IPA and their mango/pineapple gose. Next up, the board games! It's not just low-effort children's games they have (though they do have Connect 4, Battleship, Apples to Apples, and CAH). They also have cult classics like Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, and more! Great way to spend a lazy afternoon or evening. Lots of tables with adequate space for larger games too. Last up, it's dog friendly! I love puppers and they love me. In terms of food, they have a few bar snacks available, but they encourage BYOF. So call in an order, but just make sure it gets there before closing time! They also have some really cool swag and have already started canning beers so you can pick up a 6 pack to go! Also, special shout out to Ryan, who manages the taproom. Super cool guy!

Yelp
Came out to the opening launch evening and enjoyed everything this place has to offer. The openness, the service, the merch. I felt part of something bigger than beer, rather a moment of true unification where beer was just the common ground. Food trucks were diverse from cheese steaks to tacos. My favorite here would more than likely be the Raspberry Gose! The color is just out of this world, potency of the raspberries and smell was perfect. An easy going fruit beer on a beautiful day like yesterday is really all you can ask for. Four gender neutral bathrooms kept the line moving and they were clean. Plenty of seating and space to maneuver through out the brewery. Prices are stellar as you won't pay over $8 really for anything. Plenty of options as far as pour sizes with flights to come. All in all, two thumbs up over here

Yelp
I hosted a gathering here because I already knew I loved their beer. They generally have a few different goses on tap (sour- my fav!) in addition to IPAs. They have a few snacks available but are totally fine with you bringing in your own food. Board games and cards against humanity available, dog friendly and plenty of space to avoid rubbing elbows with your neighbor. Thanks for letting me host my event! If I was staying in NYC I'd definitely be back!

Yelp
I'm not much of a beer drinker but this brewery is pretty awesome. I came here on a Friday night with my husband and brother and it was not packed, which was great for me because I hate crowds. It's pretty easy to get to, if you are by the R train. Otherwise, it might be a nuisance. I first heard of this brewery from my brother and we got to sample their beer at OctFest a week ago. Five Boroughs is clean and the staff is very friendly. I had the mango saison and it was pretty good. They also have a few snack options. The best part of this brewery, for me at least, is their selection of board games! Call me a nerd, but I love board games. They have Connect Four, Battleship, Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Epidemic, Cards of Humanity, etc. They encourage you to buy food from local businesses and eat at the brewery which is pretty cool. We ordered some food on GrubHub from a nearby sushi place (food was not that good, but that's for another review). All in all, I recommend Five Boroughs for a fun day.

Yelp
4.5 for space / 5 for service and experience /3.5 for beers With what feels like a new brewery opening every other week in NYC these days, it is refreshing to see one opening this far south and in Sunset park. While I am lucky to have 4 great options within a few blocks of my home (otherhalf/threes/strong rope/folksbier) I have been finding myself headed to LIC/Williamsburg for breweries these days just to branch out. Five Boroughs is a welcome addition with an impressive tap room and ginormous brewing area (although it is sadly largely hidden from tap room so you have no idea of the scale). Clearly these guys have it figured out in terms of funding. We came during their first week of operation so are obliged to give them some slack. Overall it was a very pleasant experience with super nice bartenders, great music, and relaxed vibe (people and dogs chilling and playing cards etc). It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon so sat by the front windows wishing they had the garage doors open so we could have enjoyed day but realized temp was at that point which may have made it hard for them to keep it cool inside. Ok so onto the beer. They kind of have flights with sample sizes at $3 a pop but you might as well just ask for a taste for free and then go for a bigger size (smalls are $5). We started with the raspberry gose which is nice and refreshing but has this bitterness that is prevalent in all their beers. We then went for the session IPA which is not amazing but good considering the impressive 3.5% abv they managed to achieve. Definitely a day drinker. We then moved onto the IPA which was more bitter than hoppy and just not something I would order again (and I love IPAs). Next was the hoppy lager which was good but again not very good. Finally it was the DIPA which was by far the best of the bunch. This is a solid beer and one that will probably lead me back again and again. Certainly not to the level of otherhalf / Grimm / LIC beer project DIPAs which are world class, but def very good. I have high hopes for them finding their palette and really taking off as they certainly have the facility for it. I just hope they end up more like the other places I listed above then the glut of mid-level breweries we now have. Btw they have beer snacks that looked good and are cool about people bringing in food. Go support this place, as while the beers aren't there yet in my humble opinion, it is an enjoyable. Afterwards take a walk at the beautiful and kind of secret Mill Basin Park 2 blocks away (which thankfully after 5 beers has great bathrooms).

Yelp
One of the more recent additions to the nearly saturated ( I thought) brewery scene. Good news, the beers are balanced and delicious 16 taps available and the space is large enough to accommodate a Saturday crowd. Down sides... BYO on snacks, no food and the nearby delivery options are limited. The area is evolving, mostly industrial and a sleezy nightclub next door.

Yelp
Cool, clean and fresh righteous brew! I got happy on the Hoppy lager. We had the munchies but there is no food, however the establishment was okay with us bringing pizza purchased from local pizza shop on 3rd and 47th street; good pizza by the way.

Yelp
I've always loved FB beers, I never knew they had a brewery right here in Brooklyn! I found out about this place from my boss, so I decided to go with my boyfriend during the weekend. Besides the large selection of amazing beers, the atmosphere was awesome. It was really clean and sleek, they also have a great selection of games. It's family and pet friendly, the bathrooms were also really clean. They also didn't mind if people ordered takeout from local restaurants, which is a nice touch. The person behind the bar was also really friendly and knowledgeable about the beers being offered. I highly recommend this place for anyone, even if it's for a date night or a night with friends!

Yelp
Five Boroughs is an exciting new addition to the rapidly gentrifying Sunset Park neighborhood. Created out of a previously abandoned warehouse, Five Boroughs offers a space that contrasts a uniform industrial black with splashes of brand colors. The beer is top notch. There are plenty of intriguing choices - some produced in house and others through collaboration with other breweries. The take out 6pack allowed me to keep the memory of this fine beer alive between visits. Wait staff were polite and helpful. The extras in the brewery were also positive. It's child friendly. Outside food is not only tolerated, but encouraged. In fact, one could imagine some exciting collaboration with the neighborhoods many delicious food carts. Finally, there are ample board games and nice unpoliced relaxed space. One minor complaint that emerged from my nether regions. The seats are metal. They really hurt my butt. I probably would have had another beer, but my butt just wouldn't let me. If you are headed out there bring a seat pad or something like that. Don't let my butt talk you out of it. Five Boroughs is a really wonderful place to visit and perhaps even frequent"

Yelp
Great to have a casual, fun, dog friendly, place in the neighborhood you can bring your own snacks or order from a neighborhood pizzeria! !

Yelp
Nice spacious brewery with a delicious triple. The rest of the selections are fairly decent as well. Flights are ~$14 for 5, which is a pretty good deal if you are a commitment-phobe. Was thinking about taking some home, but unfortunately they only have growlers versus crowlers/cans. They have some house snacks that you purchase, but I some people rolling in a large bag of McD's. They also allow you to order delivery as well. Street parking only and it could be a bit tough depending on the time of day. Love how they have the place setup to facilitate events and large gatherings. Would definitely consider hosting something here if I live around the area.

Yelp
Amazing hidden gem in sunset park!! I recently hosted a large party that got rained out and needed to book a space quickly. I emailed the Brewery and got a call back within a few hours - the staff were incredibly helpful and welcomed us without a booking fee on short notice. They were able to accommodate a large group with kids and dogs, encouraged bringing in food from local neighborhood vendors (Johnny's pizza!), had plenty of games for everyone to play and the staff were attentive and friendly all afternoon. The bartenders even brought out bowls of water for the dogs! The beer is great and reasonably priced, and there is wine and cider for those who couldn't drink beer. I recommend getting a few flights to share! Overall it's a cool space with great beer and an awesome staff. Definitely worth a visit!!

Yelp
A bit out of the way, but overall a fantastic brewery! The main tasting room is this nice open room with long beer hall tables. The bar is stocked with about a dozen beers on tap, with a huge variety of IPAs, Pilsners, and a few specialty beers. The beers come in all different sizes, so you can sample around or go to town on one you like. I personally thought their Pilsner was their best. Not only that, they have tons of board games and card games for those who want to spend the night with friends. Will definitely be coming back through in the future!

Yelp
The location is a little far flung but other than that, it's a great space. The beers are all really good. We had a flight. They do a good job with all the different styles. The pilsner was so crisp. The west coast IPA had the right balance of hoppy and malty. I'm impressed they can get all these different styles so spot on. The space itself is really great. It's dog-friendly and baby friendly too. We passed a really hot afternoon there drinking cold beer playing board games. Good times.

Yelp
Technically they have food but everyone orders in especially pizza. You come for the beer and ample space to play games. They have 4 all the time there IPA, hoppy lager aka ipl, Pilsner which is unusual for nyc craft breweries and a gose. The rest rotate with a summer ale not surprisingly available all summer. Service was good and they do have 5 pour samples.
