"Five Horses Tavern is one of the few modern pub style restaurants in the South End. Built on craft beers from around the world offering 36 rotating drafts and 80 bottles. The food is locally sourced modern American comfort food with consistent vegetarian options as well. Outdoor patio is a major bonus, but if it's full up, there are plenty of seats inside." - Adam&Co.

"This wood-paneled spot on Tremont has an expanded pub menu (tacos and pizzas in addition to the requisite burgers and wings), and close to 30 beers on tap, including one rotating cask option. If you haven’t had cask ale before, it’s a little warmer and less carbonated than what you might be used to. It also tends to feel less filling than keg beer, so you’ll at least think you’ll be able to try the other 29 beers for a moment before realizing what a terrible idea that would be. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

"Hot apple cider is a New England winter staple, and Five Horses Tavern knows that the only thing that could possibly make it better is an ounce or two of booze. The bar’ll spike your hot cider with your choice of vanilla vodka, Irish whiskey, or maple bourbon." - Katie Faust Stryjewski

Very nice neighborhood bar and restaurant with plenty of food options and even better craft beer options. I had the power bowl and that was really good. But getting Maine and Hill Farmstead beer from the tap is special. Also great barkeeper and very friendly service.

10 Stars!!! Mimi was our server and David was our beer guy. Mimi was quick and efficient. David was super knowledgeable about all the different beers in the area, on their tap, and what we would like according to our tastes. Food was excellent! I had their fish and chips. Fish was fried perfectly, crispy on the outside, moist and tender white flesh fish in the center. My wife also loved her Powerbowl salad and my son enjoyed his asian wings. Between the service and the food, I would tell all my friends in Boston to check out this place.

Nice spot, elevated bar food. Really enjoyed the selection of beers and the pretzel was a table favorite. Only knock is they still do the 4% hospitality charge in 2024. I don’t mind paying more/ tipping more but just overall not a fan of these fees.

Five Horses is “Ol Reliable”, but in the best way possible. Fantastic beer list. Great pub grub (nachos, pretzels and figgy smalls pizza are vegetarian highlights). Great environment. Enough TVs where you could watch a game if you wanted. Great place for a dinner or beer.

We came here for dinner and enjoyed our food. There is a good variety of options on the menu but nothing inspiring or very unique. That being said the food is good and if you’re with a group everyone will likely be able to find something they like. I actually prefer this restaurant for breakfast/brunch. The donuts are a delicious way the start, and the mimosa flight obviously. Overall we enjoyed our experience and our waiter was very attentive and polite.

My friend and I had a great time here last night. Every worker was so helpful and nice. I wished the beer cheese that comes with the pretzel was warm (it comes out cold) and they were very nice about warming it up with no issue. We loved the atmosphere. Thank you!!

What a great experience. Went for brunch and was not disappointed. First, the service was absolutely tremendous and a big shout-out to the entire staff for making sure we had an awesome time. Second, the food was on another level. The mimosa flight was perfection and our apple cinnamon donuts and main breakfast meals were perfection. It absolutely tastes as good as it looked. We've added this to our list for the next time we are back up in the city. And it's in a great spot just a quick walk from the Pru.

Came in for drinks on a Saturday night. Krystal was a great manager and guided us through the cocktail menu. She was helpful towards everyone! A lively environment and great beer selection.
