This was my third visit, and unfortunately the disappointment this time was unreal.
My first visit back in August 2025 with my wife was off the chain — incredible food, great portions, and we left saying this was one of the best restaurants in Sevierville. I came back in December 2025 and noticed a slight dip in quality, but the food was still good.
I just returned on 2/06/26, and “let down” is an understatement.
The server was great — absolutely no complaints there — but the food quality and the manager’s attitude were shocking.
1. Buckwheat Pancake
I ordered one buckwheat pancake, which in the past came out on a large plate with a generous portion. This time it arrived in a small tin bowl with a much smaller portion. I explained to the server what I’d received on previous visits. She tried to fix it, but returned with another small pancake in a tin bowl. Both were undercooked and doughy in the center. I took one bite of each and couldn’t eat them.
2. Dr. John’s Morning Ritual Casserole
Completely bland, very dry, and honestly looked like it had been sitting in the window for a while. I tried adding salt, pepper, and ketchup and still couldn’t get through more than three bites.
3. Grits
The bowl was floating in what looked like grease or excessive butter. Even after adding sugar, they were unpleasant.
The server mentioned a new kitchen manager, then said it might be new kitchen staff. Eventually a manager came to the table — an older gentleman — who said, “Thanks for your opinion.” As I began explaining the issues, he clearly didn’t care, said thanks again, and walked off like he was in a hurry.
No concern. No conversation. No adjustment to the bill.
That’s wild.
A restaurant survives on customer satisfaction. I’m giving honest feedback because this place used to be great, and it’s clearly going downhill — and it starts with the food.
I’ve included photos from our first visit compared to this most recent one. The difference speaks for itself.
If I wanted McDonalds quality and portion size I would go there, I come here for the country size portions, the quality and hospitality and all of that is failing.
