My Go-To for Authentic, Push-Cart Dim Sum in LA. This is a top-tier destination for traditional dim sum in Los Angeles. Based on many visits, here’s a practical guide to the experience. The System: This is a push-cart-style restaurant. Carts with different items circulate the room, and you choose what you want as they pass. This is authentic but means you may have to wait for your favorites to come around. What to Expect: * The Wait: There is almost always a long line, even on a Wednesday afternoon. Plan accordingly. * The Atmosphere: Loud, crowded, and chaotic in the best way possible. It’s a classic large-scale Chinese restaurant. * The Service: Efficient and to-the-point. Don’t expect smiles; expect to get your food and be on your way. Food Recommendations: * Must-Get: The Siu Mai (tender and juicy) and the Beef Chow Fun (noodles have great texture, can be customized - I usually get it without bean sprouts). * Good: The Har Gow is tasty, though be aware the wrapper is not translucent thin (my preference but you may like it thicker) Bottom Line: For arguably the most authentic push-cart dim sum experience in LA, with excellent food to back it up, this place is a 4.5/5 star winner.

When my relatives came into town from S. Dakota and Virginia, I wanted them have a real Chinese Dim Sum EXPERIENCE. It wasn't about the food quality because there are many dim sum places with better quality (more expensive) dishes. But I wanted them to experience the dim sum cart experience. The food was good, standard dim sum. Nothing extraordinary. The niece from S. Dakota said it was the best meal she's ever ate! 2nd place was the Korean restaurant in S. Dakota. It's located on the top floor of the Ranch99 Del Mar Plaza. Take the elevator or escalators to the 4th floor.

If you loves Dimsum and have more money to spend, you got to try "Five Star Seafood Restaurant" at Valley. Well price talk for the taste! Definitely yummy, the siumay, Hakau, chicken legs, the steam bun, all surely delicious!! See the pictures you definitely got to go and try it, the place big and need to queue too, better if you came here around 9.30 or 10am thats great. One thing that  less just not all the waiter could understand english, but its ok, they come with tray, and all you have to do just use your finger to pointed the food basket you want ;)

Went there for a friend's birthday party. Located inside the 99 Ranch plaza. Plenty of free self parking. The restaurant is located at the top floor. The plaza is undergoing much needed renovation. The host was welcoming and we were quickly seated. The waiter was very friendly, and made recommendations. It's a very large restaurant. Great for groups. It can be sectioned off to accommodate private parties or weddings. The food was good but for the price I think it could be better. Especially with so much competition from other near by restaurants.

Google
Huge restaurant with dimsum carts. All the food was delicious, plenty of carts so we got all the items we wanted and service was fast. Excited to take our friends here!

Came with a fried clump of hair. It looked like it fell on the corner where they never clean. Staff wasn’t friendly for the incident (being nice never pays off) and didn’t automatically do anything just took off the plates price after I pointed it out.

Google
Delicious authentic Chinese food with very large selection to choose from. The service was kind of slow, but they were pretty busy so it's understandable. Will definitely be back to try more dishes that I have never seen before in other authentic Chinese restaurants.

Google
A place that both my Chinese and Vietnamese friends praise for their dim sum. Make sure you're prepared to wait because this place is usually pretty packed. Enter through the floor entrance and make a left to the elevator and take it to the top floor where the restaurant is located. Service can suck at times so you have to be a little assertive in getting their attention. Also if there's something you want you might want to grab your stamp card and just head to the cart instead of waiting for them to come to you. A must get are their desserts including the custard buns and egg tarts. Would also suggest asking for the chrysanthemum tea.

Yelp
High quality food in town! Fresh and great taste. All items and fair price. Easy parking

Yelp
Wonderful time, no wait dim sum. Place was huge and great tasting dim sum. Easy to park but construction made it hard to get to the 4th floor, where it's located. I'm pretty basic when it comes to dim sum so if you like the standard flare of dishes, this is a great spot.

Yelp
I've been going here for over a decade. Great value for money dimsum. It's the type of place where they roll the dimsum trolleys around with the dishes and you order from the trolley ladies. The atmosphere is loud and full of Chinese families. My only slight complaint from today's visit was that the food felt extra salty. Like the sauces were all heavy on the salt. Needed a lot of tea to wash down the salt. It's been better in past years. Maybe they just had a heavy handed salt chef today. It very busy on weekends so make sure you get there early to wait for a table
google avatar

Michael V.

Yelp
Dim sum brunch with my girlfriend and her sister. The staff brings the dim sum carts to the table and you pick the items that you want to eat. The steamer trays are placed on your table and your dining sheet is stamped for each item you get. Pay at the end a flat price per item. Her sister treated so I am not certain but I believe she said it was $5.50 per order. Basically a large open room filled with tables so the noise level is fairly high with people chatting amongst themselves. There were a few other non Asian patrons so I wasn't the only person there who wasn't Chinese. I expect that we'll return.

Yelp
Good dim sum during peak holiday hours. This place was packed for lunar new years with about an hour wait despite being a huge restaurant. Spacious seating and lots of natural lighting brighten up the ambiance here. Service is typical, you need to be aggressive to get dishes and items you want otherwise you'll be waiting around forever. Enjoyed the honey walnut shrimp and duck, even though the duck took more than 30 minutes to get.

Yelp
Did ya know that Five Star Seafood Restaurant have a dinner deal "Spend over $35 and get free 2lbs of shrimp"? I just found out from my parents they have a sign in their waiting area about this deal (in Chinese), and you have to ask for it when you order. They don't automatically give it to you. I came here on Sunday evening with my parents, and this place was packed during dinner time. We had to wait for our table but it wasn't too bad of a wait thankfully. We ordered 4 dishes + the free 2lb shrimp, but only got 3 dishes since they keep bringing the wrong dish to us. We had ordered soft tofu with preserved tofu, but they kept bringing a broccoli dish. My parents said the Chinese character for the dish is almost the same so the chef might have misread it and cooked the wrong dish for us so we had to tell them 4 times it wasn't our dish. It was pretty silly considering the order was correctly placed in their machine but it just was the cook making the mistake multiple times. Anyhow the tofu dish is pretty good here, I have tried it previously before. I also really loved their steam fish, Hainan chicken, and soups. They offer a wide variety of menu items so this place is fun to go since it has everything you want. They also offer complimentary dessert. They don't offer complimentary soup though, since my parents said they only offer that for lunch menu and not for dinner menu. The venue itself gives nostagia so I enjoy coming here. The only thing that sucks right now is that this plaza is completely dead so you can't wander after a meal. I remember them having tons of stores but due to remodeling, majority of the stores are closed except for Ranch 99, a boba shop, and Daiso.

Yelp
Stopped by for dim sum on a Saturday around lunch. Surprisingly got seated pretty quickly, which was nice. They still use the traditional push carts, but the selection was lacking--felt like the carts weren't as stocked as they should be. A lot of people were walking up to the carts, trying to grab what they wanted. As for the dim sum, it's solid but pretty average--nothing really stood out to me, especially for the price. Service was okay. For a place called Five Star, I'd honestly rate it closer to 3.5. I'd come back, but it's not at the top of my list.

Yelp
Dim sum was excellent! They have so many variety dim sim. If you order food in a bowl, it's filled and overflowing with food and sauce! For instance, a bowl of cow stomach comes with spleen, turnip and sauce! All their dim sum is delicious! They have carts of dim sum going from table to table. A typical Chinese restaurant, there's a lot of chatter but enjoyable chatter. The feel of the restaurant is nostalgic to me. First come first serve. They don't take reservations. The wait could be up to 20-30 minutes but so worth it.

Yelp
I came here many many years ago for dim sum. It looked quite different before. It may have been different ownership before. This time came with my SO and we thought it was decent. This place ain't clean. Plates aren't fully clean. Bathroom stinks with fumes of smoke. That's how you know this place is legit. If you ok with that, you get some good dim sum. This place is huge and they got carts coming around. I think all the dim sum dishes were same price. They didn't have separate pricing. It was like ~$5-6 dollars a plate. It's kinda the norm now. Pretty busy on a tuesday lunch time.

Yelp
So many memories at Five Star (previously New Capital)!! Before COVID-19, my family used to come here weekly. No joke, sometimes even multiple times a week during the summer. Without the dim sum ladies and the busy busboys, it's not quite the same experience these days. They've been hit hard by the pandemic... so show them some love. It will be a sad day if the large Cantonese banquet style restaurants are no longer... SPACE: What used to be the whole top floor has now been decreased to less than half. From the elevators, go up to 4th, turn left and around the corner are tables with pens and menus. Red tape on the floor for 6 feet apart and plenty of space to wait since they removed all their tables. There's also giant plexiglass between register and you during payment. MENU: Limited to the traditional dishes and they don't have their special weekend experiments (my grandma is sad they don't have their taro tower anymore). They also have the normal lunch/dinner menu so you can order noodles and other entree dishes. Accept walk in orders and phone orders. I saw some delivery folks from fantuan, so I assume they partner for delivery. PICK UP: When your order is ready, they will put the bag out on the table with receipt (they ask your name when ordering)and call your name. PRICE: Carry out is flat $3.49 per dish plus tax. Believe this price is decent, I've seen some places charge upwards of $4 per dish (especially the ones that do tiered menu). PAYMENT: Credit cards accepted (Visa / MasterCard only, no Amex). Cash accepted too.

Yelp
Came here for banquet style Chinese food with large family to celebrate the new years. Restaurant is on the 4th floor above shops that do not exist anymore. Can be accessed by the two elevators. Food is decent, and none of them outshined one another. Each dish had something that could be improved. Timing of bringing out the dishes was hectic! It was almost all the dishes ordered out all the same time that we do not have space on the lazy Susan. Earlier dishes had to get transferred to smaller plates or combined with another. It does not make sense to put new dishes in the middle to make each guest have to stand and hover over other dishes to get a spoonful. Place is well overdue for a full clean. Why does it smell like cigarette smoke inside?

Pomsky O.

Yelp
INSULTING CUSTOMER SERVICE We went there for dinner. The 4 dishes we ordered were good except one, the beef. Don't go there if you expect decent service. Don't even think of going there for special occasion celebrations. You will get disappointed. The beef dish (#176 Fillet Steak with Wild Mushrooms) was false advertising. It didn't look at all as pictured in the menu. When questioned, a chief server, pointing to our server, and said to us, "he doesn't look like the picture in his driver license either". What does that even suppose to mean?! What a jerk! We didn't want to sink to his low level and didn't want to ruin our anniversary so we just let it go. It's also because you simply can't reason with this kind of people.

Yelp
Yes, yes, yes. One of the best cart dim sum places I've had in a long time. The egg tarts, dumplings, mango pudding, chicken feet, and basically everything I had was amazing. It is definitely busy and speaking Chinese will go a long way. If you don't speak Chinese, you'll be okay with just pointing to what you want as the carts go by. I have been a couple of times and with a group of 5 the cost was around $28 per person which is not bad at all. The inside is busy and very lively. The restrooms were clean. Great place for a big family gathering or celebration.

Yelp
The dim sum dishes were all good! Would come back. Note that this restaurant charges a $2 per person fee for tea or water and sauce automatically. I loved the sesame mochi balls, so good! Restaurant pretty roomy and have dim sum carts coming to you to see what you would like to order.

Yelp
Met friends here for dim sum. Our first time back since it was Sam Woo Seafood many years ago. We were seated right away even though the restaurant was pretty busy. The noise level was typical of a Chinese restaurant, kind of noisy with a lot of chatter from each table. There were plenty of carts around offering different dim sum dishes. The food was served hot and all were delicious. I didn't take any photos of our dim sum dishes, though. Typical dishes of Har Gow, Siu Mai, Chun Fun, Dan Tat, etc. They charge a tea service fee per person here, as well. Our friend treated us to the meal, so I'm not exactly sure what the total cost was, but I think it was like $20 per person including tip. This was also on a Wednesday afternoon, so I'm not sure if they have special weekday prices like some of the other places offer. I wanted to comment that this shopping plaza is like a ghost town because it seemed like only one third of the shopping center had businesses still open. The 99 Ranch market still had plenty of shoppers along with Five Star Seafood Restaurant. It is such a difference and quite sad if it's compared to when this shopping center was "the place" to shop and eat in the area.

Yelp
This place is insanely busy, the servers aren't the friendliest and that is when you know the food is good! I came with friends for dim sum and we were seated in a decent amount of time. They have the typical dim sum dishes as well as dishes I'm not used to having like red bean sesame balls. There is plenty of parking in the plaza.

Yelp
Shoutout to Jess B for taking us to this awesome dim sum spot in San Gabriel. I've been to many in this area but hadn't tried this spot yet and I'm so glad she recommended it. It was delicious and had all of the staples. Located in a busy shopping center I'm always happy when there is garage parking. Located at the top floor of the shopping center there are escalators and elevators. I like that this restaurant has a view of your able to sit in their private banquet rooms which have nice views of the city. Otherwise the larger banquet area is traditional and easy for them to maneuver the carts around. We came on a Wednesday for lunch and it was a godsend that we walked right in and were seated (this could never happen on a weekend). Maybe it's also because we came a little late closer to 11:45am. Either way we were all happy. Service is dim sum service.....meaning no one is exceptionally friendly per se but you ain't coming for that! They hustle and they don't have time for chit chat. You need to flag down the carts you want and keep it moving. Not for the shy! lol. Thankfully I've been enough times that I knew the drill and also grateful to have a native speaker in the group who made it even easier calling out for what we wanted and being able to get staffs attention. Dim sum is an experience and I'm here for it. The food was delicious! They had all of the classics and everything was super tasty. Love the rice rolls the most and those were the hardest to snag! Otherwise got to love the ha gow and shu mai. First time trying the lotus leaves with rice and meat inside, fantastic! Love the turnip cakes too. So many awesome bites overall. The only bite I didn't adore here were their egg tarts but that's okay. Easily 5 stars for classic, tasty, fresh dim sum. Prices are so reasonable! Our table of four ate until our belly's were content. Like we ate A LOT. Round after round. Over 10+ plates and then some. Total was right under $100. $25 a person it equaled out to for all we could eat dim sum basically, you can't beat it. We were all impressed. Love this dim sum spot and I will 100% be back. Such a great find thanks to Jess B.

Yelp
Happy Friendster! Hasn't been back for so long and it's has that nostalgic HK feel. The ambience, the vibe the loud clinking dishes noise. The king crab was $19.99 per lb and ends this weekend, right after thanksgiving. The pigeon was good but it's still a bit overpriced. Yet, the size is bigger than the others we have been. The fried oyster was a bit dry and without sauce, it was not as good. It's quite enjoyable for friends gathering. Service was good and it's worth a try especially if you are planning a special dinner for Asian parents.

Yelp
Actually a very good authentic Cantonese banquet style food. Very busy and don't expect much of service. It's all about efficiency. Ask nicely and you shall receive.
google avatar

Wayne G.

Yelp
Dim sum here is pretty legit. Good portions and affordable considering dim sum prices nowadays. Relatively busy even on weekdays but still has lots of seating for walk-in's. When you sit down they take your tea order for the table. We always order the Tieguanyin tea, a Chinese oolong loose leaf tea. They push the dim sum carts around here so you get your dim sum right away. Staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant is clean with cool AC. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Katherine W.

Yelp
Food is delicious but the service is a bit of a circus. The dim sum servers have a sneaky trick where they'll slap an unordered item on your table and claim it's too late to take back. I had to put my foot down and tell them to knock it off. Just a heads up, make sure to keep an eye on your table. On the bright side, the views are stunning, parking is a breeze, and it's worth the trip despite a few missing items from the menu, like wu gok. As another note: come around 10-1030 because after that it gets extremely busy and wait times can be up to am hour.
google avatar

Vanna T.

Yelp
Still one of usual dim sum place in the SGV. if you show up on the weekend around 1 pm or so, there's no wait time otherwise expect to wait 30+ mins. Service is a bit slower and not as great as before. Food wasn't as good today. The prices also went up. There's construction in the 99 ranch plaza where it's located in so not that many parking spots above ground. There are more parking spaces underground. It's just inconvenient to take the elevator all the way to the 4th floor for the restaurant. The stairs and escalators are either crowded or blocked off.
google avatar

Kawamura K.

Yelp
We came during the weekend, and it was busy. Although it was chaotic at the front, the service was quick at the host stand. They assigned us a number and we were able to get our table relatively quick, I think we were at the end of the dim sum lunch rush. The sounds of many people dining was obvious, the smell of fresh food was in the air. You placed our drink orders and were able to get fresh food off the carts right away. Overall, we enjoyed the food so much. I did not take the time to take pictures. We will be coming back again soon.

Yelp
I was here for my sister-in-law's retirement dinner last weekend. This restaurant is located in the San Gabriel Plaza. It's on the highest floor. It was so packed with people which is a good thing. That means people want to eat here. We had two tables. Each table ordered their own dishes. Our table had about 10-12 dishes which is plenty for 10 people. I didn't take pictures of the entire dishes as I did not want to be rude. I only took pictures of what was on my plate. I'll have to return here so I can take fuller photos. Anyway, all the dishes ordered were really really good. I was amazingly surprised. I have eaten at a lot of restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley area. I think I've been here before, but it was pre-COVID. I think it was a different restaurant name at the time. Nevertheless, all the flavors were so on point. Very very delicious! I don't remember all the names of the dishes so I'll have to go by sight of the pictures and match them with name. For dessert, they gave out the red bean soup which is still tradition at some restaurants... it wasn't bad, but it would have been better if it was hotter. Staff was actually quite attentive. Another surprise, but then again, it is called Five Star Seafood Restaurant so I would expect good foods with good service. They should go hand in hand. Prices were not bad for the dishes and their good portions. One gripe I have is the tightness in space. I feel there is barely any space between our table and the next table to our right, left, front, and back. Our chairs were literally touching one another LOL. I could have reached over and gotten some of our neighbors foods with no issue. Of course I wouldn't do that... I'm just saying... we were that close to one another. I'll definitely be back here to try their dim sum. I don't know if they have lunch specials. If not, I'll come here for dinner for sure.

Yelp
One of the OG DimSum places in San Gabriel. Met some friends here on my last visit SoCal and had a pretty good experience here but we came early. The carts move by quick here and you have to stay alert . lol. ...: Be sure to double order on the ShuMai or you'll regret it. The prices are still very reasonable here. Compared to priced in LV it's about 60% less.
google avatar

Julia W.

Yelp
This is a solid dim sum place hidden away on the top floor of the San Gabriel Square. The view is very pretty with all of the windows and beautiful natural light. The big screen TVs showing videos of fish is also a nice touch. We appreciated that all of the servers were sharply dressed even with black bow ties. The carts came around frequently for dim sum, and all of the food was hot. The dim sum choices were good and standard choices. I particularly liked the fried eggplant stuffed with taro. Overall solid dim sum choice and the best especially if you are able to be seated by the windows.

Ken T.

Yelp
Buyers beware. This place is a scam. Use to be ok but it is running down hill fast. Their dim sum choices are very limited and their dinner is a scam of the century. They cut back on the essential ingredients and give you dead lobsters every time.

Yelp
We stopped for an early lunch to beat the crowd but dang, everyone in the SGV had the same idea. My friend/colleague visiting from Florida joined us for lunch. He's been all over the world but declared that THIS salt and pepper Alaskan King crab was the BEST he's ever had. Ever wonder what the key is to getting superior service in a Chinese restaurant? You know where they don't ignore you even though you maniacally flail your arms and make eye contact? I would like to say, order one of the most expensive items on the menu. But NO, even that doesn't work, you might get 25% more acknowledgement. You know what though, the seafood here is good enough to put up with it. In addition to the king crab we ordered: We started with dim sum. This is one of the few places that still pushes the carts around. You can point and pick to your hearts desire. Dim sum was fresh. Hom siu gok was excellent, not over fried and not greasy. Crab & fish maw soup - one of the better fish maw soups I've had. Lots of pieces in every bite. Gai Lan w/ lup cheong - cooked with oyster sauce. Loving the big and plentiful pieces of lup cheong. Scallop appetizer - large, 3" diameter scallop with vermicelli, chile oil, maybe xo & green onion. It was a good opener. This restaurant is located on the 4th floor with a great view of the SGV. Don't agonize looking for parking at ground level, drive underground for easy pickings near the elevator. When you get there put your name in ASAP. It was a wait even at 11:30.

Yelp
I used to come here for dim sum all the day. For my dad's birthday, we decided to come here for dinner. They're currently offering a 3lbs lobster deal for $6.99/lb if you spend $30+, which is a good deal! We got the Braised String Beans ($14.99), Beef Chow Fun ($15.99), Fried Pork Chops with Spicy Salt ($15.99), and Lobster ($21). Everything was good and came with good portions. For the price, it was under $100 for the 4 of us and we were all stuffed by the end of the meal. The timing between some dishes were off though and there was too much bean sprouts in the noodles, but I still enjoyed the meal. Solid Chinese restaurant at the top of Focus Plaza.

Yelp
The only place that I know it charges for water?? Who ever heard of that policy???? The food dim sum was okay and doesn't have a lot of selection as the use to have. The restaurant it a but dirty! Don't they ever wash the carpet? The air vent is filthy with dirt and dust.

Yelp
The dimsum here is hit or miss but it's a good spot for an affordable dimsum spot where they still use carts! My parents and I came for dimsum on Sunday afternoon. We got there a little after 11:30 and it was about a ~20 minute wait. It's a popular dimsum restaurant but it's also huge, so generally the wait is never too bad according to my parents. The restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the building, you can either take the elevator up or use the escalators. There's a lot and underground garage for parking shared by the whole plaza. This place is one of the few places I've been to that still uses carts. Because of that, food comes out very quickly, but if you're looking for a particular item, it may be a bit hard to find it. Still, it's been a while since I've been to a push cart spot, so it was fun to peruse the options. My favorite dishes: shrimp chang fun, deep fried shrimp on sugar cane, braised beef offal Okay dishes: steamed taro bun, xiao long bao (with no soup), fish balls in curry, bean curd roll, beef meatballs, ham sui gok, braised duck feet Don't get: steamed chicken feet (super bland) All dimsum items are $5.49 on the weekend. That's not bad at all. We ordered 11 dishes total and took home some leftovers and spent around ~$30 pp.

Yelp
Just dropped in to sample more dimsums menus. The food was as usually tasted great. However, the extremely busy-ness in its business put the restaurant management into lagging the following areas: (1) restrooms were a bit overwhelmingly wet and a bit disgusting. (2) dimsum items tended to run out by the time it reached to the (cart) end area (where the big screen TV was!) So, one would witness many "hangry" patrons got up, walk towards the food-carts, and grab their favorite items as far away as to the other end of the restaurant. It was sad to see those ugly commotion which juxtaposed the pleasantry for those who just wanted to enjoy the ambient of the hassle and bustle-ness of the Chinese dimsum restaurant atmosphere. If the management can mitigate and overcome the above 2 issues, this place should always be a "real" five star restaurant, in my opinion! Bon appetite... & enjoy

Yelp
Excellent dim sum. Very fast service Large room with many carts going around. Lots of variety of foods on the carts.

Yelp
3.5 stars This is an old school Dim Sum place that I have frequented since I was a baby. Back in the 80s, it was this restaurant or NBC Seafood or Ocean Star (90's). The good news is, this restaurant has survived quite a few economic recessions. The bad news is that the restaurant does look pretty shabby now. Anyways, these were the dishes my party of 11 ordered: Ha Gow: decent, but the dumpling skin sticks to the bottom of the steamed paper. Siu Mai: Too fatty for me...so I avoid it. Braised Beef Tendon: Get this if you need more collagen in your life! Seafood Eggrolls: Are served with mayonnaise...and they're really, really tasty. Idk if they are available on the weekdays. Sticky Rice wrapped in grape leaves: These are ok...a little too goopy for my liking. Deep-fried Mochi w/ Black Sesame paste: So good! Perfect bitesize desserts. Chicken Feet: pretty standard and tasty. Congee: Also pretty standard. This is everything I remember, but I highly recommend coming in smaller groups because you get seated faster. The tea is excellent, but pricey. It's a guarantee I'll be back :)

Yelp
Yummy! Both dishes are delicious, and the service is excellent. The preparation of this shrimp is particularly unique; everyone should give it a try.

Yelp
This place is okay for dim sum. The food was okay. Food comes out quick on the cart. The siu mai was too fatty and oily. The hargow was good. The chicken feet was terrible. Lots of parking but come early to avoid waiting in line.

Yelp
Honestly for cart service dim sum...it's really good. Of course made to order is best but because it was so busy here, the food emptied off the carts quickly which I believe made the food offered on the carts pretty fresh. I enjoyed everything we had, the eggplant dish was very yummy. Steamed shrimp dumplings (har gow) are my fave dim sum dish and quite a few places have it unfortunately fishy or get the outer skin wrong but I enjoyed it here. We were in and out super quick, service was friendly, food was yummy. As far as cart dim sum goes - this is a 5.

Yelp
This restaurant is the main eatery place in Quan Tong Plaza, which has changed a lot and almost become a ghost town post pandemic. The restaurant is probably the last one standing. We were here for a fund raising dinner for the SG mayor election, so the dishes were preset. Their specialities are seafood, so we had many seafood dishes, including the following: - Cold appetizer platter (jelly fish, roast duck, cold pork and cold squid). I really like the pork which has a jello texture from its skin. It's a popular summer dish in Shanghai and a less greasy choice for pork. - Shrimp and walnut. The flavors were excellent - Tender filet mignon with black pepper and side veggies. Again, great flavors without overpowering soy glaze or sweetness. - Cold chicken: another traditional Shanghai dish where the chicken meat is snappy and juicy with the skin on. Garnished with ginger and onion paste. It could gross some people out with the skin though. - Lobster with ginger and garlic glass noodle. Probably one of the most expensive dishes on the table. Lobster meat is fresh, bouncy, easy to peel off. Glass noodle is soaked with ginger and garlic sauce. Yum! - Bok Choy with garlic cloves: A great light veggie dish to clean the palette and make sure you get your vitamins - Steam bass: Another one of my favorite dishes for the night. Lightly steamed and topped with grrrn onion, ginger and soy. The flesh is extremely tender and fresh. Make sure to try the meat near the bone and fin for the gelatinous texture which is great for your skin :p

Yelp
Outside parking and garage parking is available when visiting this restaurant. The restaurant itself is located on the 4th floor and you can access it via stairs or elevator. If you plan to get dim sum, I would suggest either going earlier in the morning or after 1 pm. The wait for a table will be rather long if dining during peak lunch hour times. There are dim sum carts that are pushed around the restaurant with a variety of sweet and savory items available. Our favorites include the lotus wrap with rice, pineapple buns, pork shumai, shrimp, and rice rolls. Everything is one standard price now. Weekend prices are a little higher than weekday prices. Tea tax is charged per each dining patron. Service is quick and efficient, but don't expect friendly customer service.

Yelp
I've been dreaming of a creation of Pineapple Bun with BBQ Pork Bun...I finally told my friends of this dream and she told me shes been eating it her whole life at this Dim Sum restaurant lol! So I made it my mission to come and try it out and fulfill my random craving. We came on a Thursday afternoon and it was surprisingly packed. The service did take awhile even though majority of them are standing around. It took awhile to wave someone down to refill our tea pot or simply ask for the check. The food is really delicious and freshly made. The Pineapple BBQ Pork Bun was very tasty and generous with the filling! Parking can be very hectic as it is shared amongst other businesses within the plaza and market. It took awhile to find parking even on a random Thursday afternoon so I can only imagine how it'd be on weekends. Overall, I'd definitely come back here for the Buns as nowhere else around has it!!

Yelp
Dim sum with variety of food selections. From steam to bake to fried to sweet to salty to spicy -- seafood to vegetables to many protein choices. We all enjoyed every bites from each dishes, as the more the merrier. You will need to speak up because guests are usually loud and excited when the carts rolled by the aisles. So prepare to enjoy the company of all.

Yelp
We had dim sum lunch with our son and his girlfriend. The dim sum was good. Most of them just have to be hot enough for us to enjoy hot meals. Otherwise, the food tastes good. It just needs to be hot when it's served. Being Sunday, the place is fully packed and we had to wait for around 30 minutes to be seated.

Yelp
My husband's childhood friend Richard, who he has known since he was 7, took us to this delightful restaurant for dim sum. The variety was impressive, and the food was fresh and full of flavor.

Yelp
The waiters always ignored us when we were trying to talk, we even didn't have the menu and waited for 10min for at least a waiter to come. Also they insisted to speak traditional Chinese while we don't understand at all, the poorest attitude I have ever experienced.

Yelp
I ordered a water but when they gave it to me you can tell they got it from a random place. Also the food was not like other dim sum places. The waiters were very mean I saw the waiter take off his shoes when he gave me my water. The place was very loud and all the black shirt people kept blowing their noses

Yelp
A friend brought our friend group to this location and it was quite an adventure. Our friend spoke Cantonese and picked every dish we had so unfortunately I do not know the names of the dishes just the ingredients. I'm not sure if speaking Cantonese is required but it definitely helped us. This space is huge and there is a ton of food to choose from and it's endless. The food was good and you definitely will not leave feeling hungry. We ate a lot of shrimp dumplings and many of the vegetarian options which were really good.

Yelp
Food poisoning - Steer clear! This restaurant cannot be trusted to follow food safety standards. We experienced a large-scale food poisoning event from a wedding banquet hosted here. At least 10 people who ate the seafood including mother of the bride ended up massively sick all night. We suspect it was the lobster... It wasn't a huge event but the restaurant still clearly couldn't manage without taking shortcuts with food safety and we all paid the price for it. Worst part is the venue refused to offer any refund to the bride and claimed "it's never happened before". If you are considering a wedding banquet here definitely look elsewhere unless you want your wedding to be remembered for all the wrong reasons. I used to come here with family for dim sum but after this experience I won't be back and for sure would never consider them for an event.
