First time @Flaco. Very personable staff great outdoor chill vibe. Had the 3 Taco plate with chips/salsa/guac. Each taco was Carnitas, Potatoe, and spicy cauliflower all were delicious. My vegan brother had 2 potato, 1 cauliflower. We both recommend the horchata. Great spot I'd definitely spend a relaxing Saturday lunch here again.

INEDIBLE. These carnitas are so overly salted they literally cannot be eaten. No interesting flavors or seasonings besides SALT. The worst seasoned carnitas I've ever had. These tacos had zero redeeming qualities. Such a shame for LA. I never write bad reviews and want to give small businesses the benefit of the doubt but these are garbage.

The tacos are delicious and the guac is fresh. I wish I was hungrier and got the plate but the two tacos I did try were delicious. I recommend the purple potato and rosemary taco. It was amazing. The pictures of their breakfast burritos look just as tasty. And they're served all day! And if you love garlic the garlic candy is worth a try. Seating is limited and the again frescas are sugary...but it's worth coming back again and again.

My fave place to eat in the neighborhood. Always fresh and delicious tasting. I’ve never had garlic candy until Flaco. & the Tinga tacos with the guac sauce and cheese they use is to die for. The plates are always presented so pretty too. Plus, this is the only Mexican food place I can eat that doesn’t give me a stomach ache. They must use clean quality ingredients. I always gobble up my tacos too fast to remember to take any photos. Their potato tacos are so tasty and such a good vegan option! My husband loves their carnitas tacos and comes by for lunch without me pretty frequently (which is RUDE if anyone is wondering but we're working through it). On top of good food, everyone who works here is SUPER sweet. Love Flaco so much!

Hands down the best F-ing carnitas LA country! These guys did some serious R&D to get these authentic Michoacán style carnitas right! The meat cooks for hours in a pork jacuzzi of sorts in these authentic copper Cazo pots....so fire! I ordered the taco box to go and it fed 4 people until we were in a food coma. I’m not much of a fan of Vegan style purple potato tacos, but these would be my go to staple if the world ran out of pork! This place has a cool clean look with lots of outdoor dining. They also have the cats from Estretto sharing the space with them making insane “better than Bay Cities” sandwiches.

Delicious breakfast burrito with carnitas. I just wish this place had better hours. Had to update my review. I've been trying to return to this location and it's schedule makes it impossible. Staff is great, food is fantastic. I can't imagine they'll remain open much longer without being open when people expect a restaurant to be open.

If you are a fan of carnitas, then Flaco is definitely a place to add on your restaurant list. Located on Hollywood Boulevard, Flaco shares a space with e stretto, and there is seating available if you want to dine-in. I've found the customer service to be consistently friendly, and I've found it fairly easy to find street parking int he neighborhood. Their carnitas tacos are a meaty wonder of tender pork, onion, green salsa, and cilantro on a blue corn tortilla. If you're a garlic fan, you can order your tacos with confit garlic for an additional cost. Fountain drinks, agua fresca, and horchata are available for beverage selections. There's also a special deal on Taco Tuesdays, so you should definitely give this place a try!

I got my food to go, but very friendly staff. It's a pretty open space and they have a great outdoor patio. Parking can be a pain, as it's the busy part of Hollywood and Wilton. Now, the taco is amazing. It could be the best carnitas taco I've had... ever. The contrasting textures of a crisp and chewy, but soft and supple shredded pieces of pork just dance on your mouth. It doesn't taste "porky" in a bad sense, but you know it's pork. It was amazing!

Update 1/22/21: The bf and I have come here now 3 weeks in a row and continue to love Flaco! The breakfast burritos are bomb and super filling. The dirty horchata is the perfect pick me up and I love the hints of cinnamon. The quesadilla is massive and comes with a beyond generous side of chips! Love this place and will continue to support them.

This place is so delicious and has a really cool environment. I got the breakfast burrito and dirty horchata. My burrito was huge! The dirt horchata was super good too. Definitely will be coming back here often. The employee was really nice as well.

Whoa, so disappointed! With all of these rave reviews I was so pumped to try Flaco especially since they have vegan options. The taste and quality was so lackluster, bland, and super messy. My chips were soggy and undercooked which shows a lack of quality control or care for the product. Friendly staff though.

This place has been one that I have passed several times while walking to Bolt for breakfast or coffee, but actually first tried them on UberEats because I was on my lunch break and I needed something delivered fast. I ordered the quesadilla with carnitas and a signature chicken tinga taco, plus some habanero, chipotle, and salsa verde. I did order my taco without cilantro (tastes soapy) and guac (no like) and the quesadilla without avocado (nope), so that may change the flavor profiles of some of these dishes. I thought I was getting a regular sized quesadilla. No the quesadilla suiza is HUGE. I only ate half because it was that much food. Not sure if it was because I added the carnitas, but it was delicious. Now because it is cheesy and carnitas were added, it can be a little greasy but I loved it. Plus it came with some chips that with the salsa verde was a tasty treat. The tinga taco was tasty as well. It was pretty full of meat which is the best thing about a taco. I probably would order maybe 2 tacos with some chips and salsa to be a filling meal. I have been stopping in every couple of weeks for the quesadilla because it so yummy. I haven't dined in yet, so not sure if they offer alcohol, but it is a pretty chill and affordable spot to check out in East Hollywood.

We found this place on Yelp and decided to try it for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to see it had a sister restaurant named 5:55 which is plant based burgers, that it shares space with! They had a lovely open area where you order and then a nice patio with heaters as well. Great food and we will definitely be back!

I always saw Flaco on Uber eats but mainly wanted it because their dirty horchata looked good. And it was good just maybe too sweet for me cause I don't have a sweet tooth. I was actually surprised to see the menu on Uber eats was updated because I only remember seeing tacos and a quesadilla. The cauliflower burrito was so good especially with the avocado salsa (which was surprising good) and guacamole. The garlic candy doesn't have any salt on it so I recommend putting a bit on before you eat . Also, very convenient packaging everything fit nothing spilled out nothing was moving around .

Ordered the carnitas plate online for pickup. It took about 20 minutes. The guys behind the counter were nice. Now the tacos looked like they are 1st class. Each one sitting in its own saddle molded out of the box bottom and shouting "I'm unique! I'm not like the other two". However, that my friends is just an illusion. The pork was juicy but bland and lacked the crispiness. The guac was bland too. I tried asking myself how I define bland and the key component here is the right amount of salt and that's subjective. It happened so I just had Leo's carnitas tacos before coming here and they were on the other end of the spectrum.. right amount of salt but a little too dry. However they add a slice of pineapple to the taco which creates that juiciness in your mouth. Salt tends to bring out flavor in meat or any kind of protein and therefore is a very important ingredient. But you can't just simply add it to taste after the meat was cooked and expect the same result. I'll be back to taste the quesadilla suiza and recalibrate my carnitas experience too but the verdict as it stands now is "unimpressed".

Pretty small menu but the confit carnitas is out of this world. Tender, juicy, flavor bomb morsels. Insanely good. Also got the horchata. It's dairy free and you couldn't tell. Salsa verde and guac were yummy.

Been wanting to try this place ever since I saw the L.A. Taco folks hyping their food. Ordered their carnitas box for takeout and everything about it was perfect. The pound of pork meat is as great as advertised - smoky, crispy ends and just a bit of saltiness. Thought at first that it wasn't that much meat because it was packed so tightly into its container - but I was wrong. Came with a generous amount of chips and tortillas, chopped onions/cilantro, a rich & tart green salsa, just-right guacamole and a spicy/slightly vinegary take on salsa fresco. Definitely order the confit garlic on the side - it was great on the tacos but it's delicious on its own and with the chips! Only regret was not getting the quesadilla because I'm pretty sure that's also going to be great. Came in a great box and everything - which was well packaged separately - was still the right temperature by the time we got it home. Definitely will make Flaco. a habit.

This is the best breakfast burritos you will ever eat. The flavors are subtle and delicious and the quality of the ingredients is evident. Great flavors and service. A true neighborhood gem!

Flaco's is my new favorite spot on Hollywood bvd, I randomly stopped by and had the carnitas tacos, the wait was minimum and I enjoyed eating the best cooked pork ever, the portions are more than filling and the attention to details has not been left behind, all the ingredients are organic and the pork is prepared and marinated with Mucho Love. My girlfriend had the mushrooms quesadillas and they were amazing too with the best cheese I've had in a long time. I highly recommend Flaco to all my Mexican food lovers friends, best taco place in town for sure.

I can't believe I waited until now to go to Flaco. This is the best carnitas taco I've had since carnitas el momo (and honestly it's tough to compare the two because this kind of felt more elevated). A carnitas taco is only $3.50 and it's filling, two would be plenty for me. It comes with a side of this amazing cooked garlic that I stuffed inside and I just could not stop making "mmmm" noises after every bite. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!!! Also, an amazing sandwich shop called E Stretto is located in the same space so if you're feeling ambitious you can make it a bang bang and try both!

Has to be on everyone's shortlist if you're into carnitas tacos. Their plates are spot on, everything from the homemade guac and chips down to the soft tortillas and the super juicy carnitas in between is nicely thought out. Worth it for sure. Staff super nice too, and the location (which is being shared with a GREAT sandwich spot from 11-5pm - plan two visits for sure) has covered outdoor seating off street which is perfect.

Being bread n' spread in LA, I think I've pulled over many a late after bar hopping to just about every taco truck and pop up tent in LA county. Although many hit a certain mark in my constant craving for that certain "fuck yeah!" moment, I will confess I think I have found the Mecca for one of the most authentic & tastiest Michoacán style carnitas tacos I've ever had. These guys boil this pork shoulder for hours in authentic copper Cazo pots until it falls apart. They use these amazing corn tortillas from Kernel of Truth as the first layer of insane goodness laid upon 3 delectable tacos. Topped with cilantro, sweet onions, green salsa made from 7 different roasted peppers and a slice of radish for that crunch factor. After the third one I was already plotting my next visit with more taco aficionados in which to share this experience of pure taco heaven with....

The space is super cool and it's really close to my apartment so I wanted to love this place, but man these tacos are dry and salty. I didn't even taste any acid from the salsa at all, and the carnitas drained a gloop of oil down into the box. How is the packaging oily and the meat super dry?. From the reviews it sounds like maybe they're just getting their recipes down right? I couldn't finish it for the salt.

It is a rare thing for me to grab my phone, mid-food inhalation, to write a damn yelp review. But this place lit the spark for me to do so. I am naturally suspicious of trendy or "fancy" taquerias because being mexican, I have the memories of my grandmas cooking forever etched on my tastebuds. Finally decided to stop by Flaco and got a lil bit of everything-- guac, a taco and the quesadilla suzias. Thankfully I ate this at home because the moan I let out after biting into the carnitas stuffed taco would have made people uncomfortable. The carnitas were juicy, perfectly crunchy and salty in all the right spots. Loved the salsa on the tacos. The quesadilla suzia is going to be the death of me. I'm already craving it again and I haven't even finished the other half. Its a good size (enough where two could share) for the price and I love that they wrap it in foil so the greases settle in the right spot. That's love. Chips are nice and thiccc which I love. I squeezed lime on em which went perfect with the big container of guac I picked up. Guac is good.. but to kick it up a notch I mixed some of their salsa in which hit the spot. Service was great--can't wait to come back!

Service was okay But food was really bad! When picking up my taco my tortilla fell apart and tasted weird! The carnitas were ok also but not worth so much!

These tacos are fire. Carnitas so flavorful and tender and the packaging is awesome as well. So happy a good joint opened up. One side of the counter is tacos, the other is sandwiches ala Italian deli style. So excited to try that next. Well done!

I order some tacos, burrito a Suiza and the food was SUPER EXTRA SALTY!!!! It was MORE SALT THAN ANYTHING. I'm sure if whoever is making the carnitas had their taste buds they would NEVER sale or ate that. Because it was so SALTY I threw up and we had to throw away our food!!!! I even got a headache too. We ended up making eggs at home and we were soooo hungry after a loooooong BAD DAY, This ended up WORSE!!! Hopefully they LOWER the use of salt by A LOT!!!! Im not coming back!!! Or recommending this place to anyone.

I'm on a diet and I run by here everyday and had no idea this was here till I seen someone eating a taco in the charming patio seating area. The staff super friendly and the tacos are very flavorful. I had one of each with both tortillas. Topped it off with a mexican coke and of course wore my mask. Give them a try its very hard to find delicious tacos on Hollywood blvd let alone carnitas handled with love.

Loved every flavorful bite! They rolled out a new habanero salsa on the menu today that paired nicely with the carnitas. Each taco is jam packed with fresh quality ingredients that you can taste. -- I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed! I'll definitely be going back soon.

WOW! the potato tacos are outrageously good!!!! I do not eat meat, but my buddy got the carnitas and he we moaning the entire time he ate them... I think that is a pretty decent sign that he enjoyed them. Flaco tacos are perfect take away items. Love the togo container and love that it is compostable!! Bravo... can not wait for more!!!!!!!!

Wow! Had been wanting to try Flaco for awhile. Got to try it this evening with my girlfriend. Absolutely delicious!! Had the purple potato taco and the cauliflower taco along with chips, pico de gallo and some guacamole. Everything was delicious!! Kudos to the guys at Flaco for making such great food!! The tacos are stuffed!! These are not your barely filled type of tacos. They really load them up! I especially liked the cauliflower taco with the pineapple salsa on it!! Soooo goood!! I absolutely recommend Flaco!! I'll be back for more!!!

I really wanted to love it, but the flavor inconsistency in my taco plate was too jarring. I ordered the three carnitas taco plate, two of them confit-style and one regular. The first confit-style one was AMAZING! I literally couldn't believe I was eating something so good. The meat was fantastic quality and we'll seasoned. The second confit-style taco tasted like a mix of the flavorful meat and some much, much less flavorful meat. Every three bites, I got a delicious one. The third, regular carnitas taco tasted like nothing. Even with the salsa and garlic candy and onions. Each bite was completely tasteless. Overall, the first taco remains one of the best I've had in my life. I would definitely give it another try.

We did pickup via Postmates, with the order ready in 15-20 minutes. We got the Carnitas Taco kit-in-a-box (12 tortillas, 1 lb Carnitas, chips, guacamole, salsa, cilantro/onion/lime wedges, roasted garlic cloves, sliced radishes) and 3 vegan potato tacos. It easily fed 4 adults (with a home-made salad on the side). The carnitas are very very good - what I've had rarely in the past, hoped to get each time I ordered carnitas elsewhere, and was disappointed until now. The vegan potato tacos are delicious with a great depth of flavor. Highly recommend.

Flaco was delicious! I went with a buddy to check out this new taco spot and i will be back. Everything was fresh and tasty from the homemade guacamole and chips, salsa to the carnitas and veggie tacos. A welcome addition to the la gourmet taco scene. There is plenty of outdoor and patio seating as well.

We ordered from this new taco place in LA. The Flaco box was amazing. Fresh tortillas, delicious carnitas, and great chips, salsa and guacamole. We will definitely be ordering again soon. The menu is simple - they do have a vegan taco as well - but I think they are focusing on doing carnitas really well. Great addition to the East Hollywood neighborhood!

Grabbed some tacos after hiking the Hollywood sign. Got 2 carnitas tacos and chips and guacamole, it was sooo good! So much flavor in the meat! I highly recommend! Definitely will be coming back soon.

I grew up in this town and have had my fair share of taco shops. Flaco sits up there with the best. A carnitas taco that is juicy and has crispy edges. A vegan potato taco that is full of rich flavor. We ordered take out and it was even that good once we got home. I can't wait to go back and see what they come up with next!

Went here after reading LA Taco review of this place. I decided to go earlier to guarantee a parking spot(its E Hollywood, not the valley). So their menu is pretty sparse, its pretty much Carnitas Tacos(or in quesadilla) and their Purple Potato Tacos(Vegan!) with chips/guac, and their garlic "candy" add-on. I got a 14 dollar combo (3 tacos), guac and chips, and a drink. Its a good deal considering the quality. The Carnitas tacos were the best Ive had in a long time. Many times Carnitas are an afterthought. Usually its dry, overly crispy, and just fat. This was more like a a really good pork shoulder. Its the star here, and treated as such. I would come here again just for the carnitas. I also had 1 of the tacos as the purple potato one. It had some sort of vegan cream sauce on top of beans and onions. I was surprised how good these were. This would be considered a top vegan taco at a place that was a Mexican vegan taco place. It could be a contender for best vegan taco in LA.(as a non veg/vegan that says something). Its not trying to be a fake meat either. This place is already making a case of best of LA tacos and I wouldn't be surprised by next year or even end of the year making that list. The garlic "candy" cloves you put on the the tacos(or even the chips) are great. It just adds to it. What was also surprising was HOW GOOD their green salsa was. Most places its just spicy and watery/goop-ey. This one was tangy and refreshing and had lots of flavor. Not very spicy. but really worked well on top of the tacos and I ended up using the rest on the nachos. I would buy extra of this sauce. Interesting enough they share space with E Stretto an Italian sandwich shop. You can get off the menu a Italian "Cuban" paninni using the carnitas from Flaco. I will just come back to try that.

These tacos are so yummy! The carnitas are super flavorful and the garlic confit option they have is out of this world! The vegan tacos are also the best I've ever tried! I'm so excited this place does delivery and they're taco to go boxes are genius!

My daughter's and I ordered the Breakfast Burrito. It was amazing the best I ever had. The customer service was great. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Next time I'm in L.A. I will definitely eat there again!
