We visited Saturday evening, we utilized paid street parking and we were seated right away. The restaurant wasn’t busy. Khloe was a good server, checking in with us and giving us updates on our food while we waited. We started off with the baked mussels, they were so delicious I really enjoyed the sauces on top. The lychee connection was dangerously good, with the right balance of sweetness and alcohol. I really did not like the wait In between getting our drinks, our appetizer or our entree which was about 10-20 mins. My husband got his food before I got my sushi another ten minutes later. However, although our wait times were significant because the sushi chefs were behind the food was delicious. The sushi and sashimi combo comes with a great variety of fresh fish. Some even had a little wasabi underneath. The pepper steak also had the right amount of spice and sweetness. I would recommend visiting here but heads up you may wait awhile.

Great service. Beef jerky w hot sauce and sticky rice was so good. Food came out fast. Curry catfish and shrimp pad Thai was good too. Sashimi deluxe was good too. Will be coming back.

Google
Absolutely incredible Thai food, 10/10!! We had the Tom Yum soup, the crispy pork dish, The pad, Thai, and the red curry and all were so flavorful and left us very satisfied. We also tried a couple specialty sushi rolls, and the one that stuck out was the Viking roll, wow! The cream cheese wontons are also stuffed to the brim and never disappoint. The atmosphere is delightful with pretty mural artwork and good photo ops! And the great service rounds it out. Can't wait to come back 🙌🏻🔥

Google
Absolutely wonderful food and even more amazing service. The sushi chef was all about that customer service and presentation and everything was on point flavorful and fresh. I would recommend this place and I will come back 😀🙌👍❤️

Google
This is by far the best Thai food I have ever had. Tens across the board if I could. The drinks are amazing, such quality and originality. I had the Massaman Curry and, OMG the pot stickers. The sauces are top tier, you have to come here and try. The menu isn't too overwhelming, but has so much variety. The sushi was fresh and such amazing prices. The servers are attentive and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Please support this family owned business.

First time here and we had such a great experience. The food was authentic and delicious. They surprised us with fresh yellowtail and my Thai chili pepper was grown in the back yard of the store. I am beyond impressed with the level of service we received. Come in! It’s a whole experience.

Love the decor and atmosphere. The food was wonderful. Drinks were amazing. Will definitely be going there again to try other food and drinks. It's definitely worth a place to check out.

I came in during a very quiet lunch service to get a bit of sushi. The server, Kyle, was super friendly and I liked the vibe - also, the music playing wasn't too loud, which I appreciated! You could definitely drop a lot of money here, but there's also some really good budget options if you just want a little lunch - it was 15$ for a salmon roll and a tuna avocado roll, hard to complain about a price like that. The avocado didn't have gray bits and they tasted very fresh. Definitely gonna stop in again!

Yelp
A M A Z I N G ! Absolutely perfect, on-the-money curries IMO, had them all, "Mengie" spoiled me, she gave me a taste of each and it was truly hard to pick. Apps, sauces, teas . . everything about Flamin' Thai was unexpectedly wonderful. Been eating Thai since my twenties and am now in my mid-sixties, have enjoyed eating authentic in Bangkok, some very good Thai in New York. Minneapolis and St.Paul have many good Thai Restaurants but none have been better than Flamin' Thai. I met Khan and Mengie the day I walked in, their service was extraordinary, so welcoming.

Yelp
As my first photos shows, this is a pleasant, modern space. That, along with the extensive menu and friendly service, promised much, but my meal was ultimately quite disappointing. I got the mixed veg stir-fry (Rainbow Medley) with shrimp. It was nicely plated, but two issues I had with it are evident from my photo: first, it was rather oily. And second, the veg mix was off, with way too many green peppers and onions (it's natural to suspect a cost motive here). What's less clear from the photo was that the vegetables were all overcooked, with the broccoli and mushrooms having been reduced to mush. Others seem to have had better experiences here, so I would be curious to try something different.

Yelp
Came because of the positive reviews. Left wishing for a bit more -- ordered the Drunken noodles, which were not bad, a bit too vinegary for my tastes and the sauce was a bit soupier than I was used to, although the presentation was well done. Again, not bad but I've had better (probably for cheaper, too). Decor is cute and modern with some traditional touches. Service was average.

Yelp
We went at 6 pm on a Wednesday. We were sat right away and there were plenty of open tables. Food 4/5. The spring rolls were fresh and were well balanced by the sauce included. I got the red curry which had amazing flavor. I got medium spice and felt this balanced the dish perfectly. My only complaint was the bamboo. It was cut in long pieces almost like noodles, and was very challenging to eat with the included spoon. Service 4/5: we were sat right away and our order was put in quickly. Our spring rolls and main entrees also came in a timely fashion. We did wait awhile for someone to check back in on us to get our checks and to go boxes. Ambiance 5/5: they have a cute selfie wall in the back. Overall the restaurant was clean and tidy. We had sufficient space at our tables and loved the view from the window. If you're in the neighborhood and are looking for Thai food, this is definitely a must try!!

Yelp
The decor was lovely, and the menu had an extensive variety. The service was excellent, with several staff members checking in to ensure we had everything we required; they were very attentive. Everything we ate had a comforting taste, and I will certainly return to explore more dishes on the menu.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and used a BOgO deal for the sushi rolls Sushi was great, chef was nice who makes them The red snapper curry tasted good but was difficult to eat as whole fish and bones and we were not given actual sized plates to eat them on or discard of the bones until we kept asking for plates The cashew stir fry with pork lacked some flavor in my opinion and not like the typical stir fry I'm used to Also none of our dishes came out with the beautiful hibiscus flowers that I see all over social media and other patrons dishes had them so I'm sure they just forgot ? Would try some other dishes if in the area again and hope it's an improvement since I hear great things about them

Yelp
Great Happy Hour spot for tasty sushi and cocktails. My wife and I had 6 different rolls --all very tasty and prepared well. Staff were nice and welcoming. Next time I plan on trying some specialty rolls or entrees. The environment is fairly casual and easy to grab a spot at the bar. They had gluten free soy sauce. Easy GF happy hour spot.

Yelp
Minnesotans be warned: they mean their spice levels. I can usually handle a little spicier than average, but not here. I ordered a medium red curry with chicken and it was delicious, but my nose was running like crazy. Next time I will try mild/medium. My partner ordered hot drunken noodles, and also said it was spicy (I did not dare to try it). We also got the fried eggrolls which were very yummy The ambiance is nice, and they have tables that can fit large groups. There was a wait when we went in on a Friday, though there was space at the bar. We had an issue with ordering, however. We ordered online for pickup, only to arrive after our scheduled time and find out that our order had not gone through. The staff all seemed very confused, and were not super friendly about it, and then had to rush to put the order through while I stood there waiting. So that was a snafu and not a great experience, but I would try again to see if it's a pattern or a one-off. 4 stars for this reason, but I would go back.

Yelp
decided to check this place out before heading over to the movie theater down the street. we got there just in time for happy hour. the food happy hour honestly weren't the best deals i've ever seen (it was like $2 off classic rolls and some apps) but they had $5 domestic beers which was great! i decided to get the beef pad thai and to be honest it was a bit pricey for my liking. the beef pad thai was $20 which was the same price as the pork and chicken pad thai. also be warned- they take their spice levels very seriously. i can usually handle a lot of spice but their "medium" is freaking spicy!! my boyfriend got the Lao Pho and it was also yummy! best part about this place honestly is the staff. everyone is so wonderful to talk to and they are the nicest people on earth!! they are so attentive and have big smiles on their faces when they are taking your order. it was really refreshing to see that they really love working there.

Yelp
This is a perfect spot for a flavorful meal in a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is big and open, with a huge bar and a very nice interior design, though it's a bit dark toward the back of the restaurant. Our server was friendly and accommodating, happily adjusting our meals to meet our preferences. I also appreciated how well-paced the meal was--apps first, then the main course, giving us time to enjoy everything without feeling rushed like when other restaurants bring everything all at once/one quickly after the other. The pot stickers were delicious, perfectly crispy though slightly lukewarm--but still enjoyable. The real star was the Drunken Noodle, which was absolutely amazing with just the right amount of spice. Every bite was filled with various delicious flavors and textures. The portions were generous, leaving us with plenty of leftovers to enjoy later. Flamin' Thai is definitely worth a visit for the great food, thoughtful service, and cozy yet modern ambiance. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Definitely more of a takeout vs dine-in place in my experience, but really great red curry! Coming out of a Yelp event in the charming Northeast district (I'm not from Twin Cities, just trying out the lingo here so let me know if I missed what this area is actually called), and was glad to have a highly rated Thai restaurant across the road to check out. I did a quick dine in, sat at the bar, and as mentioned at the top, this is probably better when taking to-go. It was pretty quiet in here, and the service was pretty direct and to the point. For the food: I love a good curry, and this was a damn good red curry. Perfect consistency, lots of veggies and tofu, and a perfect spice level for what I was after. I may or may not have been sweating at the bar, but that's a good thing IMO. The whole experience was businesslike and the food was perfect. I'd definitely order in from here if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Great Thai / Lao place The Tom Kha is very thick and creamy. With zesty lemongrass. Its delicious. Pad Kee Mao has very good flavor. Just need more char (higher heat on the wok) it's very good though. Lao Sausage. Definitely the it! That you have to order. It comes with an amazing sauce called " Jeow Bong ". Fun fact if you love the " Jeow Bong " as much as me. You can order them. 48 hours notice. Call ahead. Ask for Kahn or Henry. I told them they need to put them in jar and sell them. It is gold!

Yelp
I've always had good service and food when I've been here. Their pad thai is great and there are some good starters as well. Great location.

Yelp
Upon walking into this cute and cozy restaurant you are greeted with cool wall art and a very chill and welcoming atmosphere...some of the music played was Norah jones, David gray- esque music. For a Monday evening this place was quite popular especially with takeout. I was yet again excited to try some exotic cuisine that's hard to find in my neck of the woods. I ordered the Tom Kha Gai Soup which is a coconut milk soup, lemongrass, mushrooms, onions...one of my favs at a Thai restaurant plus I ordered it with some tofu. The dish took quite a while to get roughly 40 minutes but it gave me some time to relax and unwind from a long day. Once I did receive it, the soup came with a side of rice. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I couldn't finish it all so I took the leftovers home for another meal. The only comment I have to make the dish better would be smaller sizes of the tofu. The pieces are pretty huge chunks which is hard to eat when placed on the spoon. The service was great and I can't wait to come back to try more Thai dishes!

Yelp
Food was tasty. Waiters were fun. We shared red Thai curry pork and a platter of sashimi, sushi, and rolls. We ordered a bottle of wine that they were out of; however, our waiter ran across the street to buy the bottle from the liquor store. Now that's service! We had a nice window seat.

Karissa C.

Yelp
I have to say, I'm disappointed in the food. I ordered: beef pad Thai, Alaskan roll, and their chicken wings. Pad Thai is NOT flavorful at all! It is NOT worth $20. SUPER disappointing! Alaskan roll, it is not portrayed as the pictures online (DoorDash). In the picture, there is a sauce on top & flakes of some sort too. The sushi roll I received is plain. No sauce, nothing. Disappointed. The wings, amazing. Flavorful, delicious, I would totally recommend. 6 wings for $15, a bit over priced, but they are tasty. Overall, super disappointed I spent $45ish dollars on this.

Levi P.

Yelp
The food tasted great, but the wait was insanely long for takeout (45 minutes). The price was also very high compared to the quality of the sushi rolls, but maybe the price of fish has gone up? The curry was great too, but it didn't come with rice which was confusing.

Yelp
Run, don't walk, to Flamin' Thai if you have not been there yet! (Be careful not to run into all that construction though.) We had been avoiding the area because of all the construction in NE, honestly, but decided to finally brave it and get some Thai food. Despite construction, we were able to find cheap metered parking right outside ($1/hr). The restaurant was decently busy for a Sunday lunch, but service was quick considering there was just the one server. I got the Veggie roll (avocado, mango), Potstickers, and Red Thai curry delight. You can set your own spice level- medium, hot, and flamin hot- which is great since everyone has their own preference. I went with hot, which was perfect for me (and actually spicy!, for someone who enjoys spicy food). Appetizers were delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Little orchid flowers came with each dish. Red curry was indeed delightful and a good size portion! After those apps, I had to get half the curry to take home. Will return again soon, but perhaps for dinner so I can pair with some of the drinks!

Yelp
We had a beautiful experience at Flamin Thai tonight! They easily accommodated a large group for a birthday on a week night and the happy hour deals were excellent. Despite being visibly busy, the chef came over to check in with us to insure everything was going well. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. The space is lovely and there is a lot of seating and a large bar. Lots of tasty pairings and combos and apps. I thought the prices were very reasonable!

M S.

Yelp
The food and service is on point. The Lao dishes are where it's at! The pork sausage and sticky rice is a very tasty bite. As well as the crispy rice with fermented pork. The Thai dishes are spicy, but they are happy to tone it down if you like. The Panang curry with pork was packed with flavor. Don't miss Flamin Thai's signature wings either. I will have to make another visit for their sushi bar and variety of other dishes.

Yelp
Flamin Thai is a fine restaurant. But falls short of other Thai options in the twin cities. I wouldn't not go back, but I wouldn't choose to go there again either. We've visited twice. FOOD: the food is alright. I'm a fan of Thai so any Thai seems to be of at least good quality, but this didn't surpass expectations. I got the veggie stir fry with shrimp. And the other time the veggie stir fry with tofu. The veggies are ok. Quality is fine. Choice of vegetables is a little unbalanced but that's a small detail. The shrimp was fishy and I didn't like that much. The tofu was soft and not super well cooked. However the flavor of the dish was good. Another strange detail was that the dish ware (and portion size) appear to vary between our two visits which were only a few weeks apart. PRICE: it is more pricey compared to other Thai options in the cities. As well, the amount we were charged didn't match the menu price. The serving staff were happy to change it though. The menu price would be alright but still pricey, but the actually charged price was even steeper (about 12% raised). PARKING: it's northeast so there's street parking (paid) nearby and neighborhood (free) parking if you're willing to walk. SERVICE: acceptable. The staff were friendly but not the best at managing multiple tables. I'm sure that this isn't their fault but rather just a poorly planned management plan. They seemed to be doing their best. They were accommodating but getting more water and utensils took a bit and some drink items were forgotten. Overall though, they were friendly and that's what's most important to me. Second most important would be more attention to water, order details, needs, etc. With some changes, I think flamin Thai could regain some of the greatness I've heard about in its past. They have the recipe for a great restaurant and there's just a few small details that would make me choose other great Thai options in the twin cities.

Yelp
I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy at all so we got a table right away. Our server was kind and quick to get our drinks and food order. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken while others in my group ordered pineapple fried rice and massaman curry. The pad Thai was pretty flavorless and needed more sauce. The pineapple fried rice was also pretty flavorless but the massaman curry was phenomenal! So much coconut flavor -- delicious! My husband ordered a couple sushi rolls and seaweed salad. The waiter forgot about the seaweed salad but when we asked for it, he brought it right away. Sushi was ok, nothing special. In terms of atmosphere, there was plenty of tables and the restrooms were clean-ish. If I'm in the area again, I would come back. However, I wouldn't make the drive for it.

Jyotika S.

Yelp
Great food, good quantity. We ordered red & green curry. They both were yummy. Papaya salad was fresh, great dressing. Great service
google avatar

Yelp
We've ate there before when they were located near the U of M. Tastes good. We stopped by their new location for sashimi and was greeted with familiar faces. Sat at the sushi bar and chatted with the sushi chef. There's murals on different walls for guests that love taking selfies, fun place, delicious food and cocktails. Meter parking in the front otherwise parking ramp behind the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food. Best pad Thai I've had in a while. They don't skimp on the veggies in their curry like so many restaurants I've been to do. Fun atmosphere. Open late. Will come back for sure

Yelp
Great food! You can get either Thai food or sushi at this quaint little restaurant. The service was decent, the prices were OK, and the food was great. I would definitely go back to Flamin' Thai.

Yelp
Great thai restaurant, lots of variety, there specails are really good. Papaya salad so delicious.

Yelp
Arrived early to pick up my online order, and the genial host at the bar served me water. Learning that we'd just moved in around the corner, he said, "you'll be here a lot. This is everyone's favorite Thai place." Judging by the ambiance and food, I can see why. Nice space for sit down meal. Our basic order of pad Thai and basil fried rice was excellent and very freshly prepared. We will indeed be there a lot, for both pickup & sit-down.
google avatar

Oluseyi O.

Yelp
Can't speak to the service as I ordered to go, but this place is busy! Parking, as expected in this area is a little tricky, but there is a paid ramp attached to the building. My food came out quickly after I arrived. I ordered veggie pad Thai. It was good, not great. Could've used more sauce and a bit more spice. It was also very egg heavy. I'd definitely go back during the week when it's not so busy to dine in.

Yelp
Love this place! Came on a Thursday evening with my friend and her daughter. Super easy to get a table. Though it was nice to have a reservation option if needed! We ordered the beef jerky and crispy egg rolls for appetizers. And I had pad kee mao (drunken noodles) for my entree. My friend and her daughter had the red curry and khao piak sen. The food was amazing! A good place to go, especially if you like spice. Alberto our server was phenomenal!! He was kind, fun and attentive. For sure went above any expectation. He gave my friend's daughter a chopstick holder to help her eat, checked in on us the perfect amount, and made sure our leftover food was able to be packed securely. I'll definitely come back!

Yelp
We wanted Thai one night and found this great restaurant. We arrived just before the end of happy hour would end. We ordered a bunch of appetizers off the HH menu. We all had great dinners. Mine was a Massaman Curry. Delicious!

Yelp
Stopped by here on my very short visit to Minneapolis. Arrived around 6pm or so on a Friday evening and there was plenty of seating (albeit it was pretty rainy and cold that day). Service was speedy and friendly and I got my food super quickly. The chicken pad thai was very solid. Very bouncy noodles and a bit more on the saucier side. Pretty solid portion. I don't think I asked for it to be spicy so I can't comment on that, but overall I think this is a really solid casual Thai spot good for dine-in or takeout.

Yelp
After seeing the signs for a few months, Flamin' Thai finally opened up in what was a vacant spot for a very long time on University. I live in the neighborhood and we were definitely missing a good Thai restaurant so I was very happy to hear this place was moving in. When we walked in, we were floored by how huge the space was. There were way more tables inside than I was expecting. However, we were even more blown away by how packed it was. Every table was taken except for 1 - ours :) so we were kindly seated immediately. This place has been renovated so well, I was told by a friend it used to be a pub and you cannot tell at all (except for in the bathroom where it seems unchanged) - the restaurant interior is beautiful, even featuring some Instagram worthy (or Yelp worthy) backdrops for taking social media pics! The waiter was very kind and working extra hard, I felt pretty bad about how fast he had to move around since it seemed pretty stressful, but he was taking it in stride. I ordered the Thai Tea along with the Massaman Curry. On top of that, my friends ordered the Crying Tiger Beef and Red Curry which I was able to try both of. The Thai tea was phenomenal - might be the best in the cities which I was super shocked by. As for the curry, the portions were pretty reasonable considering it is a little on the pricier side (~$20). And it came with a side of jasmine rice. The massaman was so flavorful and so delicious, this is one of my favorite curries so if you have never tried one before, I highly recommend you try it and here is a great place to do so! The crying tiger steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, I tried it and the dry rub was fantastic, I need to figure out what they use in it so I can make at home. The red curry was also great, but I think I made the right choice - the massaman was my favorite. I also saw they have some sweet happy hour deals so I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Welcome to the neighborhood, Flamin Thai! Really happy to see this block blossoming again. We stopped in a couple weeks before their grand opening so they didn't have their liquor license yet. We tried a curry, cream cheese wontons, spring rolls, and the tom yum soup. Their soups come in a proper hot pot which was fun. The menu is extensive so I'm excited to get back there and try a few more items. The curry in particular was great-- nice thickness and good flavor. Service was very kind and prompt, especially for being so new.

Yelp
The food and service here is amazing! I recommend this place to people all the time. Thai food is so flavorful and filling. Sushi is fresh and melts in your mouth. The staff here is very helpful and super friendly. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and gets lots of natural lighting. Decor is cute and its in a pretty nice neighborhood. If you're ever looking for great thai food or fresh sushi...or a little of both, this is a great place to go!

Yelp
Great location and atmosphere. Was there before Happy Hour in the middle of a Saturday afternoon and the place was fairly quiet. I enjoyed the Red Thai Curry Delight with chicken. Made with Red Thai curry paste, bell peppers, Thai eggplant, bamboo shoots, Thai basil, coconut milk and chicken it was an excellent red Thai curry and served with a side of white rice. Warmly greeted at the door by the bartender who invited me to be seated where I wished. The service was excellent and attentive. I will definitely be visiting here again the when I am again in Northeast Minneapolis.

Yelp
Amazing Thai!! I had the fresh shrimp and pork spring rolls, red curry with chicken and rice and they were phenomenal. I live in LA and travel for work and let me tell you that you're going to have a hard time finding a more authentic tasting curry anywhere else. The restaurant is super clean and the staff is above friendly my server (Laiman) helped by suggesting one of his favorite dishes he gave GREAT service, very attentive. I will be back at the end of the month for a repeat dinner.

Yelp
We were looking for an Asian restaurant to eat so stumble upon this Thai restaurant in downtown Minneapolis..My first time here. The food was phenomenal. Every dish was delicious. I especially loved the drunken noodles (my favorite). We were served by Kimmy. He was so friendly and kind. Has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went for Happy Hour we got the Flamin'rita and he got the Mijoto! Both super greatc but the Flamin'rita is a very cute drink. Then the bartender, Tony, made his own spin on Lemon Drops which was actually super good with a little bit of spice, I believe he put red pepper flakes in them. I thought he was amazing, very nice and kept us laughing. We then had the calamari, shrimp spring rolls for apps and they were amazing. Great dipping sauces for both. My boyfriend got the spicy tuna roll, yellowtail roll, and I'm unsure what the third one was, but he ate them all and it was definitely fresh fish. I got the pineapple curry and it was Soooo delicious. Will definitely be back to try more curry and food. Great happy hour experience/date. I also love all the plants hanging in the place, it has a very nice setting/ambiance.

Vikas K.

Yelp
Terrible Service. Tried to charge me for hotsauce. If I don't enjoy the spice level of the food and want some spices an extra charge js ridiculous

Yelp
Ordered Flamin' Thai for delivery the other night and was really impressed. It took about an hour to arrive, but I appreciated that they were open until later than other places. I ordered the drunk fried rice and the pad Thai. I'd highly recommend both of these dishes. I also ordered cream cheese wontons, but they were over cooked and weren't worth it.

I Love this place great food and if u like spicy they got it! And good drinks. It's a good place for a date or catch up on some sports.

Yelp
The waiter we had was fun and funny. He was attentive and made us feel welcome in the restaurant. The food is ok. If the "flamin" is about the temperature of the food, then it is an apt descriptor. If it is supposed to reflect the spicy "heat" of their food, then I'm afraid it is quite lacking. I asked for my dish to be hot. It wasn't at all. The flavor was still nice, but I find it less than satisfying to eat food that I expect to be spicy to not be so. What I ordered is the Crispy Pork Belly. I also ordered the Crispy Egg Roll. These are ok, too, though I do not like the sauce with which they are served. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly.

Yelp
We visited Flamin' Thai for the first time last night. It was amazing. We especially enjoyed the Green Papaya salad. It was delicious as were the other items we tried like Pad See Ew, Thai Duck, Crispy Pork Belly and Lao Beef Jerkey. Our waiter was very personable and had some great menu suggestions. If you enjoy Thai food then you should miss Flamin' Thai. You won't be disappointed..

Yelp
Definitely one of the better Thai food spots in the twin cities, but not worth the insane price. Just two dishes (pad Thai + curry) was 46$ with tip, and the portions were pretty small. On the bright Side the the scenery of the restaurant was nice. Overall I would recommend if you're going for a vibe, but in terms of best "bang for your buck" I'd go somewhere else with just as good (if not better) tasting food for a cheaper price.
