I’ve always loved the rib rolls and dolphin fingers at Flanigan’s. I don’t live in the state anymore, but every time I come home to visit, I genuinely look forward to them. It’s one of those nostalgic food cravings I dream about.
Unfortunately, this last visit was a huge letdown. I’ve attached a photo because the food was just disappointing and honestly kind of gross. The rib rolls weren’t crunchy like they usually are, just a greasy, soggy mess. And not giving a lemon wedge or even tartar sauce with the dolphin fingers? That’s sacrilegious. I get that times are tough, but this felt like they were cutting corners in all the wrong places.
I made sure to get there on time so my food wouldn’t be sitting, and I still had to wait, so it wasn’t a timing issue. On a positive note, the service was pleasant and the atmosphere was just as great as I remember. It’s just a shame the food didn’t live up to the rest of the experience.
