Flavor Table

My first visit to Flavor Table was an absolute delight. I couldn’t resist the catfish and shrimp combo with grits. The catfish and shrimp were incredibly seasoned and flavorful, the best I’ve ever had. And let’s not forget the made-from-scratch biscuits—so light and delicious! Willie, is the epitome of Southern hospitality. I live in Rancho Cucamonga, but I’ll make the drive to have breakfast there sooner rather than later. Highly recommended!

I ordered the Jambalaya Scramble (w/grits and a biscuit), and the Peach Cobbler French Toast.💣.....and yes, I got both things for myself. Everything had a high quality to it, and the portions were more than enough. Not to mention the service was top notch. Not that big of a venue, so groups of 4-5 may have to wait longer for a table, but I walked in solo and had a cup of coffee in front of me in less than 10 minutes.

Absolutely delicious food paired with truly professional and friendly customer service. The atmosphere has great vibes, with jazz music playing in the background and a clean, welcoming space that really adds to the experience. This place is a hidden gem and definitely one to visit with a good appetite. The breakfast was outstanding, with flavors that exceeded my expectations. It’s a smaller venue, so larger groups may have a bit of a wait, but service is quick and attentive. With plenty of parking and consistently excellent food, this spot is highly recommended.

Great first time experience. Greeted with smiles and a kind staff. That goes a long way with me. Meal was ordered to go. Sat in a waiting room but not long. Food was ready to go in a timely manner. Food bagged, so to others be mindful on how you store bagged food in car (handle with care). Received plenty of food for two. Once home. I warmed meal back up and it was flavored and great tasting. I'm simply grateful for food on the table. Enjoy.

You need to keep your schedule On the Internet you say you close at 2:30 pm. I have been there at 1:30 and you say you are close. This has happen at least 3 times. I don't know plan to come back. Other customers I have talk to feel the same way.Bad business.

Cleanliness- 10 Customer service- 10 Taste- 10 Parking- Street Wait Time- 5-15mins The food was really good and not salty at all. You get alot food and you will gave left-over. The Customer service was great, Willy was are server and he was actuate and very helpful . Ooo and the biscuits were amazing .

Absolutely delicious!!! I've heard of this spot but had never been. Went with a party of 8 and we sat outside. They brought us around and entered on the side, so idk really what inside looks like. Willie was our host and server and he was very attentive and great! I ordered the Catfish and shrimp breakfast w/potatoes and added onions to my eggs/potatoes. The shrimp were a nice size and the catfish were crispy how I like it! Pack your patience as it comes to parking, there's only street parking. There is a lot 2 businesses down; but not sure if it's an open lot. I will be back!

While visiting The City of Angels, (from the bay) the besties, I a crew decided to grab a bite to eat. While the food was tasty, I found a couple of uncleaned shrimp in my batch, so I had to eat around it. And even though we had a bit of a wait, we didn't mind because, they let us gather in the back room to chill on the couch and chairs, so we chatted it up until our table is ready. Willie was awesome and on it checking on us every chance he got. Ambience was mellow, but full of love. Not sure if we will be back, only because when we come down from the town, we like to try out different restaurants. I still am giving this place 3 yumms up and a Willie is the best!

This was my second visit, it was Mother's Day so the line was clear outside. My friend and I ordered to go. The food did not disappoint. The ambience of the restaurant was like going to your favorite Aunties house for family dinner. Wished they took reservations or ADA outdoor seating.

I'm here again to just confirm that The Flavor Table has the best Southern/NOLA breakfast in LA! After they drop those hot biscuits on your table and then proceed to put some of that etoufeé on whatever breakfast you order, you'll know I'm telling no lies!

This review is solely based on the hostess came around 1130 for breakfast for a party of 5 was told the wait was 45 min waited over a hour one of my guest was a first time visitor and asked if they had mimosas and was told no we should have went to the The Court Cafe which is another restaurant... My guest then stated we wanted this and that's why we chose this restaurant was just asking was was served. Food is always amazing and customer service is always a one but today was a very different experience...

The Peach Cobbler French Toast is what they are known for and I can see why. If you are someone who likes a sweet breakfast you are going to love this flavorful breakfast that tastes like it should just be dessert. We also trips the fried chicken and it was just like being in your mom's kitchen which is my preferred fried style. The sunrise was frozen at the bottom so hard to enjoy until that was melted but once it did it was delicious. The grits could have used more cheese and seasoning in my opinion but were still good with the sauce on top. The was a bit of a wait, we were told it was going to take about 30 minutes to be seated and ended up waiting close to an hour to get seated. It was a Sunday, and they seemed like they needed more staff. Overall I would go again but would likely order take out and pick up and just eat at home.

Came back for a second time this time to try their fried shrimp & cat fish combo plate requested country potatoes (you can choose grits) and your choice of eggs sea food was so good the batter was flavorful and enough pepper to give it that kick. Service was excellent our server (Willy) was so friendly and courteous kept walking by checking on us. You can tell He is a people's person so nice and sweet. We got there at a perfect time once we left there was a crowd waiting for tables outside They do close early it's a breakfast/brunch spot. I do recommend their food Don't hesitate. (My brother has ordered their short rib with grits 2xs the short ribs are so soft and tender and full of flavor love it too)

Always a great time at the Flavor Table! I don't know if I go for the food or the service. Willie is an amazing man and provides that at home service elite experience every time. The food was fresh, hot and fast! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. This time I chose catfish breakfast which hit the spot. Will be back

The name is fitting! The flavor is in every bite Porchop fried to perfection, potatoes were well cooked and scrambled eggs were just right. Service was ok nothing over the top or a name to remember. Pricing is great as you clearly leave with two days worth of food. The four stars were due to an incident we had to witness with the server and table next to us which included my feined choking and needed a water along with the other tabke and the server ignored the request stating im helping them its their turn. Aside that the server was courteous and attentive.

This black owned restaurant was so good! The service was good and the food was full of flavor. There were no alcohol sold at this restaurant, however this is the best thing I've had being here in LA! I definitely recommend this restaurant if you enjoy southern cuisine.

I came in this morning the grab some breakfast & I was not disappointed at all. Service was fast & friendly and the food was bomb! I got the peach cobbler French toast and a side of wings I left happy and full ; I will definitely be back.

We were greeted by a guy who has the personality of your favorite uncle. Our server was very nice and the staff overall seemed to be happy and very attentive. The place has a neighborhood favorite vibe to it. The place is clean, and tidy nothing fancy but comfortable. I ordered the short ribs and gravy over grits and a side of catfish. The catfish was delicious and cooked to perfection, crispy on outside and tender and flaky on the inside. The short ribs and grits were next level. Tender chunks of beef and homemade gravy over a bed of grits could not have been better. If I lived in the area this would be my favorite breakfast spot. I will be back.

yes..yes..yes! Searched Yelp for a good spot to hit while visiting L.A.. This place did not disappoint. When you roll up and there's a line of people..than you know it's good. Even with the line, they turn the tables over fairly quickly. We barely waited 5 mins. Food..OMG almost everything we ordered was FIRE (salmon croquettes were a bit too salty and fishy..but still tastes decent. The catfish plate with grits was just perfect. Fluffy flaky fish with the well seasoned crispy outside!. My Mom lost her mind over the peach cobbler French toast! And my uncle was in heaven eating the short ribs and grits! Oh and try "The mix".. a drink they serve, you won't be disappointed. Service was great. Everyone was friendly and attentive, even with how busy they were. I'd definitely recommend this spot..and next time I'm in L.A. I'm hitting them up!

The food here was so fresh and vibrant. Loved everything that I ordered. I highly recommend the fried fish and shrimp platter. I didn't event mind that they don't serve any alcohol. Great service. Felt like I was back in the South! Will definitely be back again.

We haven't been here since before the pandemic, so it was nice to see the doors back open. Not sure if ownership changed or what changed but it was just slightly different. The weight wasn't that long as it used to be. We also went mid week. The staff is always friendly and inviting and there's always such a warm feel to the place. Went ahead and got the fried catfish and eggs and shrimp and grits. The fried catfish has always been one of our favorites. The seasoning on the breading is one of a kind. Flavor in every single bite. And the breading to catfish ratio is perfect. Do you still get chunks of white flaky, juicy moist catfish in every bite, and that I was so good seasoning on the outside. Fried to perfection. Shrimp and grits were pretty tasty as well. Flavorful and cooked well. One of the best we've had. But definitely not the star of the show. Anytime we're in the area. We always make a stop and will continue to do so. Love this place.

I came here with my family for Sunday brunch. The customer service was great and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I ordered the salmon croquettes with potatoes, eggs and pancakes. The salmon croquettes were delicious and cooked to perfection. The potatoes were great and very flavorful. The eggs were scrambled to perfection. The pancakes were soft and very good. The ambiance was customer friendly. This is a great place to go for breakfast and great items to choose from on the menu.

Brought the family here for brunch on Sunday- 7 of us. We arrived a bit early to get a table and waited about 40 mins as reservations are not allowed. We sat at two tables and waited a bit to place an order. We ordered drinks and food. I had the shrimp omelette which was amazing. We had chicken wings, pancakes, salmon croquettes, grits, French toast. I think we ate everything on the menu lol. Service a bit slow but once the food comes it's amazing. Our bill was so reasonable. I was actually shocked it was sooo low. Ambiance is a typical diner and I can't wait to come back

The food and service is amazing. I want to take my family to experience this good food. The ingredients are fresh. You get large portions. The price match the food. The parking is street parking and the restaurant is small but. Get in where you fit in. Would I go back? Yes! In a heartbeat. Will i recommend this to family and friends? Absolutely!

Met up with my girls for breakfast. Didn't have to wait too long. There was only one server when we arrived yet he was very attentive to everyone while he waited for help. The menu has a good mix of all types of yummy offerings. One friend had been here before and guided us in our selections: Shrimp and Grits, Salmon Croquettes, Peach French Toast, Turkey Sausage Scramble and Fried Shrimp. Everything was good. We all enjoyed our choices and got to taste a little off each other's plates. The Biscuits were good too. We spent around $100 which isn't bad for what we ordered. We took our leftovers so that means we have a snack for later. I will definitely come back.

We were welcomed the moment we walked in, and Willie was so friendly. He was so kind that I thought he was the owner. He assured us he wasn't. There were so many good choices on the menu. Me and my bestie decided on fish and shrimp and bacon-and-eggs and grips and biscuits. Everything was plentiful and delicious. it was nice to be in a black owned spot! The grits were creamy, just the eggs. The shrimp was huge, and fish was soft and tender on the inside with just enough on the outside. My bestie said the bacon was like she would make at home. I am so glad that we found this special hidden gem!

Found a new breakfast place. I searched grits in Los Angeles and this restaurant popped up. We arrived just before 10 on a Sunday. It was right before the room filled up. I felt lucky that were seated immediately. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Our food was delivered quickly but not too fast (no microwaves reheating entrees. ;(). The food was outstanding. The catfish was fresh. The grits were the right consistency. The buttermilk biscuit was warm and flaky. The only part of the meal that was meh was our scrambled eggs. They were bland which is surprising since the rest of the items were flavorful.

So Because the hours are only brunch hours, many times there will be a short wait. They do have a few chairs outside for the wait. From what I know, and could be wrong, but it appears to only be street parking, which was a bit tricky for my elderly church folk. The service is excellent. The waiters and waitresses have always been friendly and attentive every time I have been there. Love their staff... So.... The good/great part..... The food is ABSOLUTELY amazing!!!! My favorite is the shrimp and crab omelette. OMG!!! It is a must try if you like seafood and omelettes. The fried fare that they offer... catfish, chicken, pork chops etc are ALL amazing. The sides are flavorful and super generous. I have never finished the seafood omelette in one sitting. I always enjoy the other half the next day. Oh, I failed to mention the shrimp and grits.... Delish!!!! They also have short ribs and grits that I haven't tried yet but looks good and I was told by another who ordered that it was really good. They also have a frozen juice concoction called the "sunrise" that is so refreshing and tasty. All I can say in conclusion is that this LA gem is a MUST try... Bon Appetite!!!!

Our server Joe was amazing. He was hospitable and very attentive. The food was great!!! I had the chicken tenders with potatoes. My friend had the fried shrimp and eggs. I would highly recommend this restaurant the combos comes with a soft warm biscuit but their side which is just as high as the combos. It's a bit pricey so come with plenty of money. One more thing.... There is no refills on your drinks and if you order a soda it's coming in a can.

The food was pretty good but the grits were extremely underwhelming. I definitely expected more. The shrimp was well prepared though. The wait is long and unnecessary. I had to go to the cashier to ask for my card because my server was taking way too long to bring it to my table for my signature. I understand being short-staffed but... Other than that, the positives were that the hostess was helpful and had pretty decent customer service and my server was friendly.

Friendly service, excellent food! Stopped by Red's Flavor Table for a hot breakfast last weekend. Enjoyed the peach cobbler French toast, grits and catfish. The peach cobbler compote for the French toast was scrumptious! The catfish was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The grits were a little thick, but tasty nonetheless. Our waiter also let me taste the biscuit which was the fluffiest, tastiest biscuit I've ever had!

Best food ever one of my favorite places I have moved an hour away and still make my way down to the city to eat here

When in LA/Inglewood, one of the highlights is eating at one of the many yummy Black-owned restaurants. The only issue is usually wait time. We had to do a drop off at LAX and were in the city early enough to walk right in and be seated on a Sunday (9:00am). Any later than 9:30, expect a wait at any LA based Black-owned breakfast spot. This place has been on our list for a while! Report card: Food: A: Texas omelet A: Fried catfish with a side of country potatoes Service: A: Our server was excellent - he was friendly and got the job done flawlessly. We felt welcomed when we got there. Ambiance: B: INSIDE: It has been refurbished inside and is nice and comfy & clean. C: Outside: It's in a neighborhood that has been neglected. You may almost miss it if you're expecting a normal looking restaurant. The metal doors and signage was underwhelming. Parking: B: we only saw street parking. Perhaps there is a lot in the back but we didn't see it but got there early enough to find street parking in front. Overall: A-/B+. We will definitely be back!

My sis got a recommendation for this place and I am so glad she did! We got there at about 11:45 on a Sunday. The restaurant was almost full, but we were seated right away. The hostess and serving staff were incredibly friendly and very quick. They look like they were working hard, so I appreciated it. First, coffee came in a HOT mug ya'll! I can not remember ever getting that in a restaurant. That right there is a 5 star! Coffee was great and came in a vacuum carafe, which was nice because it stayed hot. We shared everything. Ordered the catfish and shrimp with smothered breakfast potatoes and biscuits, the peach cobbler french toast, and a side of a turkey sausage patties. I have lived in the deep south, Mississippi and Alabama, and this is the best catfish I've had outside of the that area, and on par with the fish shacks! The crumb was a perfectly crisp-crumbly, without falling off in chunks. It STUCK folks. An uncommon experience for So Cal. Next time will definitely be trying the grits. The biscuits. These medium pucks are deceivingly homely. Do not be fooled Yelp eater. These biscuits were made by angels. Heavy for its size, inside that unassuming disc of baked dough is the softest, most moist, heart of a biscuit. This is the moment when you feel the love those angels baked in. The potatoes were out of this world. They were soft and creamy inside with a little bit of crunch on the outside. Long thin strips of red and green bell pepper, perfectly sautéed along with onion, and a creamy, dreamy cheese. The Peach cobbler french toast was insanely good. I'm not usually a big sweets person, I rarely even use syrup. Frequently French toast is even too sweet for me, so I was surprised at myself for wanting to try it. This turned out to be in my top 10 breakfast dishes ever. EVER!!! This was like eating a bite of peach cobbler. no lie. It honestly wasn't overly sweet. It was the best French toast I've personally ever had. The sausage Patty was hands down THE best turkey sausage Patty I've ever eaten!!! I dipped some in the peach cobbler sauce and it was a divine bite. It's highly flavorful, with a tiny bit of spice, and more moist than you usually get with a turkey patty. I feel like i have been saying things like best, top, and hands down a LOT in this review. The food is JUST that good. The prices are extremely good for LA, and an even better bargain for the amount and quality of the food. Just go. Literally as soon as they open. Take a couple of people, an empty stomach, and wear loose pants.

Oh my it was my first time eating here. I had the jambalaya omelette it was amazing also ordered at the table was caramel French toast and catfish everything was delicious. I would drive from the inland empire to eat here. Try them you want be disappointed

During our family reunion a few of us snuck away for some breakfast. We found Flavor Table on Google, and when I tell you eating here felt like I was at one of my family members house. The staff was so courteous and nice. Even the other patrons was super nice. We walked in and was seated right away. The food came out super fast too. When our food came out everyone eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. We sampled from all the plates and everything was delicious. I think I found my new breakfast spot. And if you're looking for some good down home cooking, this is the place trust me. I will be back.

This was my 1st time here. I had pancakes and eggs both were cooked just right!!! Their special "secret" breakfast drink was ! Our waiter was excellent! He called my friends and I sunshine an he took great care of us. Friendly atmosphere! I can't wait to bring my family back!

Went here for breakfast, I had been to Red Flavor table before and it was very good. This was just as good if not better. Food was great large portions homey and comfortable atmosphere. Excellent service, staff was very attentive and friendly, it felt like eating at a friends house. Nice crowd everyone was friendly and polite. I will definitely eat here again next time I'm in L.A.

Food is excellent but if you are dining in, give yourself more than an hour, it's gonna be awhile! I prefer to call and pick up my order to avoid the wait.

This place came HIGHLY recommended. Today was the day to try it out. I arrived around 9/9:30. Was seated right away. (This was a surprise for me on a Sunday morning) Willie was everything you wanted in a server. He was attentive and checked on our table often. Our table ordered the fried chicken, scrambled eggs, potatoes, shrimp and crab scramble, grits, pancakes, and the salmon croquettes. EVERY DISH WAS AMAZING! We didn't have to add anything to our meal. (With the exception of hot sauce. I put that ISH on everything) the restaurant was inviting. It really felt like I was home with family. I definitely will be a regular!

Coming into the restaurant, immediately appreciated the little touches that gave warmth to the establishment. Overall, the food was OK. The coffee was strong and made sure to get my eyes open! The wait staff were are attentive without being overbearing. I'd recommend to others in the neighborhood
