Subpar experience tonight, which unfortunately was my bday dinner. Service was slow and staggered, with only about half the tables occupied. Silverware had dried bits of food stuck to it. We had to flag down our server/runners for all drinks/refills. Coffee martini, which is supposed to have Baileys Irish Cream, was black as night tasting only like coffee and vodka. This prompted me to order a shot of Baileys and fix the drink at the table. It would have been nice if the server observed what was going on and comped the shot, but there was no such attention to detail.
King crab leg @ $83 was shriveled, dry and rubbery, partly due to sitting under heat too long and partly because it was in the middle of molting and should not have been served. Manager graciously replaced it with a slightly better leg, but size and quality were still disappointing.
My favorite menu item, the pork belly appetizer, usually rendered and crisp, was drowned in Demi glacé, and completely gelatinous throughout. As with bacon, soggy pork belly is punishable by death. Grits also had no hint of goat cheese. The outer strip (best part) of my "Prime" Aged Ribeye was as thin as I've ever seen even on a standard grocery store steak, and laughable compared to the marketing images.
The rest of the meal was "fine," but not at all worth $600+ for three, and having lasted 3 hours, even with our desserts to go, (brown butter rum sauce forgotten with my bread pudding ) was about an hour too long due to slow service. With inflation and supply chain issues being what they are, I'm not too disgruntled by lacking quality, but service and attention to detail is completely within an establishment's control and should even be ramped up to compensate.
