If the mere mention of sausages, pâtés, dry cured charcuterie, artisan cheeses, fresh pasta, rotisserie chickens, smoked fish, prepared & carefully selected goods make you nostalgic of your recent trip to France, no need to book another flight right yet! Fletcher & Lu in Kingston which is inspired by the French tradition of "traiteur-charcuterie" (French-American chef Julien Shapiro trained in Paris) is just what you need. You will enjoy the atmosphere--casual but elegant. Sit at the counter and sample a large variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread (ah, those French baguettes!!) and if you don't want to cook dinner or are entertaining friends, Fletcher & Lu provides delicious seasonal baked goods, and meals made using meats and produce from local sources. A special shout out for their knishes stuffed with duck confit, caramelized onions and mushrooms. I could eat them every day! Fletcher & Lu is a wonderful new addition to Kingston which I enthusiastically recommend.

We really wanted to love their rotisserie chicken. No, seriously, we really wanted their rotisserie chicken. So we went to the shop around 11:30a today to grab a chicken for dinner this evening. Chickens weren’t ready yet, we were told, but we could pay for one and reserve it. OK, we’ll have to drive back to the shop, but we really do want to love that chicken. Returned to the shop a little after 1p to pick up our reserved-and-paid-for chicken. “I’m here to pick up my chicken,” I said. This prompted not a chicken, but a quizzical look and the unexpected declaration that there were none left. “No,” I said, “we reserved a chicken and I paid for it.” Then the little light bulb went off and the clerk remembered my name: “I’m so sorry. I forgot to write it down and we had a run on the chickens.” Well, she was truly sorry, but not as sorry as we were. It will be scrambled eggs for dinner tonight.

Got some of their housemade ham, mortadella and capicola. Made a 5⭐️ sandwich to enjoy on a hike using their Semolina bread w/ some MPO arugula, a lil olive tapenade and some shredded fresh mozz. Impressive and inspiring charcuterie.

Amazing top-notch rarity in an already gastronomically rich environment! An authentic French traiteur with sausages, cured meats, condiments galore and, to top it off: pâté en croûte. The chef is obviously artistic and impeccably trained. The staff congenial and hip. The space welcoming.

Excellent spot for all kinds of meaty goodness. Guanciale of the gods. Parisian ham spot on. The paté de compagne was textbook and delicious. Spicing on the pork rillettes not my style--a little on the sweet spices vs savory and sharp, but will please most everyone. Anyway, high quality product here at very fair prices. Should be every locals first stop for quality cured meats and more.

Beautiful grocery with quality niche items. Great place to pick up specialities before a dinner party & an excellent launch pad to create a menu.

Yelp
Incredible! Maybe the best provisions shop we've ever been to. We got a bunch of stuff to entertain a group of 15 for a weekend, and everyone loved everything. Every single thing was pretty much the best version of that thing we've ever had. Best vodka sauce ever. Best handmade pasta ever. Best Caesar dressing. Best charcuterie. Everything. Is. Amazing. A huge boon to Kingston and the whole area. Thank you!
