If the mere mention of sausages, pâtés, dry cured charcuterie, artisan cheeses, fresh pasta, rotisserie chickens, smoked fish, prepared & carefully selected goods make you nostalgic of your recent trip to France, no need to book another flight right yet! Fletcher & Lu in Kingston which is inspired by the French tradition of "traiteur-charcuterie" (French-American chef Julien Shapiro trained in Paris) is just what you need. You will enjoy the atmosphere--casual but elegant. Sit at the counter and sample a large variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread (ah, those French baguettes!!) and if you don't want to cook dinner or are entertaining friends, Fletcher & Lu provides delicious seasonal baked goods, and meals made using meats and produce from local sources. A special shout out for their knishes stuffed with duck confit, caramelized onions and mushrooms. I could eat them every day! Fletcher & Lu is a wonderful new addition to Kingston which I enthusiastically recommend.
