"The splashy Penn Quarter wine bar will ring in 2020 by celebrating women in the industry, busting out pricey pours from female-led labels like Chehalem Winery in Oregon. The four-course dinner ($55 per person, and $50 extra for wine pairings) includes crispy kale salad, pan roasted salmon, and flank steak, with seatings at 5 p.m., 7:15 p.m., and 10 p.m." - Tierney Plumb

My boyfriend took me here for dinner while I was visiting DC for the first time. The food was absolutely amazing! We also loved our flights of wine.. the only complaint we had was that they automatically added a 20% tip. We felt like for the service we received, he wanted to tip more but since the tip was automatically added we felt like it took away from our server in the end. But we loved the ambiance and our experience! The risotto balls (Arancini) were absolutely AMAZING 👏

Google
Amazing wine bar with some of the best wine selections in DC and an amazing and knowledgeable staff. Plus, their food is absolutely outstanding! I love to come here for dinner and highly recommend their fried chicken and a side of their potatoes! If you come to Flight, come for the drinks and stay for their food. I can’t wait to be back!

Google
Great vibe and friendly staff. Red Wine flights were fun but a little light on punch. Some even tasted like grocery store wine. Food was incredible...salmon has a great crust and cooked perfectly..however, I would have liked some kind of seasoning on it. Hummus plate was delicious with the brussel sprouts as the star. $3 bread was not really worth it. Light on portion so I'd would have rather passed on it.

Google
Attention to customer is obvious and the menu reflects that, plus the staff all super helpful. So many ways to try great, funky and unique wines. Definitely go outside your comfort zone with a flight. Something for everyone, will be back to dive into the bottle list...

Google
Cozy and vibrant wine bar. Definitely great for a second date or spot to have a drink and kill some time. The host and staff were super nice and flexible even though we told them we were just killing our time before our parking ended and it was cold outside. We had a long list of wines to go through and got cozied up and drank. Some great selections of domestic beers. Will be back again, unfortunately did not try the food but it sounded very nice.

Google
I only had a flight (as the namesake suggests) and some charcuterie, but I really enjoyed both. The wine was great, the server was helpful and fun, and the food was a great addition to the taste wine. A great spot for anyone who wants a good sip of wine downtown.

Google
My Fiancé and I went to Flight as our first start to our date night. Our host was FANTASTIC. She was very helpful as we picked our flights from the menu. The charcuterie board was awesome as well. My fiancé and I enjoyed ourself. Gratuity was included and the bill, this was the first time gratuity was included and the waiter told us as she brought the bill out.

Google
It's definitely a hidden gem! Loved the vibes and atmosphere. The chicken was some of the best that I've ever had and I've been eating fried chicken all my life lol. The cole slaw was also thoughtfully seasoned and not just something on the side for decoration. The wine selection for flights was also vast and the pour for each tasting was at least 3 or 4 oz each and came with a variety of 3 for the flight! Highly recommend and I will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
This is a lovely place for wine and an appetizer. My friend and I stopped for happy hour. We enjoy discounted wine flights and appetizers. We didn't try the cocktails, but they looked nice. They had a very lovely atmosphere and everyone who worked there was very nice. I wish they had a little more of wine-by-the-glass menu, but the flights are extensive. Worth a trip.

Amanda V.

Yelp
Stopped by Flight with some friends last week, despite not being a wine connoisseur. I felt the most appropriate thing to do in such a position was to have a Paper Plane - amaro vermouth, aperol, bourbon, and lemon juice. The drink was nicely chilled in a beautiful, stemmed glass. The bar is on the smaller side and dimly lit; as it filled up, it got a bit harder to hold conversation at the table due to the increased noise level. It's clear they prefer reservations, so plan accordingly!

Sarah K.

Yelp
Came here on a busy Friday evening but was still seated right away at the bar. We tried two different flights. Pourings were on the lighter side and price was a little high for the quantity of wine we got. Ambiance was lovely.

Ron C.

Yelp
I used to think Flight was cool but I find the bartenders to be drama filled. The wine selection is decent and the atmosphere is cool. For me, the ownership and staff flat out suck.

Katie R.

Yelp
Stumbled upon Flight Wine Bar when we were in the area before our dinner reservation at RPM and had time to spare. We were looking for a nice place to grab a drink, and this was the just atmosphere we were looking for. Dim lighting with candles at each table, small and cozy. The host who greeted us was very friendly. Our server was knowledgeable of all the wines and helped us selected a wine flight. There are several pages of wines by the glass, bottle, and flights to choose from. I always find flights to be fun, so this was a different and interactive way to start our evening! They also serve food here, but we didn't even look at the food menu since we had dinner reservations already. I would recommend this for a date night spot due to its romantic vibes!

Hunter B.

Yelp
We came here on a Thursday night and were able to get a table quickly. There was happy hour from 5-6:30 where the dlights were off from $20 to $16. I decided to get the light bodied reds and the gamay turned out to be my favorite. The place had low chill lighting so the ambiance was great. The service was good but the prices and what you get are not worth it. Wineries nearby or even a bottle of wine from a place would be better and I do not plan on going back.

Yelp
First time coming here after living nearby for a while. I called before and they were able to have a table ready for us even though there were no reservations available online. Food was great, the hummus platter was amazing and surprisingly filled! We each got our own flights, they gave us a nice card to explain our flights which were necessary as we are know wine connoisseurs! Being the clutz I am, I dropped one of my drinks. They were able to bring me a new one right away without me asking. Great service and interior but wish they had some more menu options. Also it was really dim!

Yelp
Had a really great time at Flight Wine Bar for dinner! The service is really outstanding. The servers are so warm and friendly plus super attentive and efficient. I know Flight is a wine bar but I was still impressed by their wine menu! I'm a wine newbie so having a ton of curated flights to choose from was great and the flights are really reasonably priced, about $16-$18 for a pretty fair pour for a taste. I did the Gewürztraminer three ways flight and enjoyed them all! Dinner was pretty good. I had the salmon and my friend had the scallops. Both beautifully presented on a really pretty bed of vegetables. We were both satisfied with our dishes. They were tasty but not necessarily anything special and also really really small portions. We ordered some appetizers post dinner to satisfy our hunger, namely the potatoes and eggplant. The potatoes were spectacular, a really tasty bite. The eggplant was a little too soft and oily for me but taste wise they weren't bad. Finished off with flan, I'm not a flan person but my friend really enjoyed it so A+ there. I would definitely come back. The service is amazing, the wine list is great, and the ambience is really nice and quaint and quiet -- an ideal date spot. I wouldn't go out of my way to come for dinner and would definitely come mostly for the wine but the food here isn't bad either!

Yelp
Flight Wine Bar is an exceptional hidden secret. Located right by Capital One arena in Chinatown, this has been one of my favorite places to stop by whenever I'm passing through D.C. The staff makes incredible suggestions based on what you're eating, what you typically drink, and their knowledge of wine will have you wanting to become a sommelier in your free time. I have had so many amazing meals over the years here -- the smashed crispy potatoes and the pulled duck sliders come to mind -- and I never leave feeling like I haven't been treated like family. The space is also very cozy and has a jazzy, modern, and uptempo feel which makes it a wonderful place to meet friends or dates for a drink. Super inviting. Huge fan of this space.

Tarak D.

Yelp
Food: stick to the wine (3* for food) Service: Awesome and really attentive! Atmosphere: cozy and intimate Price: $$$ If you are into wine this is the place to go! They have an awesome wine selection and make the flight options really easy for people. The descriptions are informative and the staff really know their stuff to help you. I would stick to the wine here. Maybe a lite appetizer but the food is not great. The beef skewer dish only comes with 2 small skewers and the charcuterie options are pretty basic and limited. Go for the wine!

Jason J.

Yelp
Service was impeccable and the ambiance is stunning. One of the best wine bars we have been to in the area. We tried a few small plates and nothing disappointed. Highly recommend!

Brandy S.

Yelp
Had a wonderful post-dinner flight experience here! In my opinion this spot is the perfect size, has wonderfully attentive staff, and the VIBES are everything! 10/10 would highly recommend!

Steph M.

Yelp
The ambiance is so chic and the wine and food are great. My company had our holiday party here and it was perfect. The owners are there frequently and I love getting to support a small local business.

Sydney B.

Yelp
Wow I am obsessed with this place. The food, perfection; the wine, fantastic; the best part, the service and the owners!!! This place is run by two amazing owners who do more than just manage such an amazing restaurant, but they actually engage with customers and are servers!!! This place is seriously the best place for date night vibes, night with the girls, grabbing a group of friends, and anything. I cannot recommend going to Flight Wine Bar enough and know I will be coming back as much as possible

Martha B.

Yelp
So delicious. Great ambiance for a date night! Really wonderful service from the staff and very knowledgeable about their wine collection. We got the BEST Sauvignon Blanc we've ever had here. 4/5 because the arancini was overpriced for just 4 small balls.

Paul B.

Yelp
Its a really great spot. Quiet but fun. Great wine selection and good food if you need that. Highly recommend.

Matt G.

Yelp
This place is hands down one of my favorite wine bars in DC. I'm not big on wine either. Went here on date night and the wine and food are excellent. The staff is super friendly and quick to make sure you have everything you need. There is a good selection of wine and flights and the staff will explain everything to you. Impressively our waitress knew how to pronounce all of the obscure names. The food is really fresh and very high quality. The potatoes were mouth watering and the beef skewers were cooked to a perfect medium. I'd go back again just for those two items not to mention the scallops! I'll definitely be back in the near future!

Tamari D.

Yelp
Had a nice ambiance and service was great, but expensive, I expected the portions/flights to be a little more substantial for the price.

Donyiel C.

Yelp
Had no idea this place was here, but now I know and I like it and I will be back! A friend suggested it and I stopped by yesterday around 5:30. Most of the bar area was filled but there were a few seats left. They are open at 5 for happy hour (which goes until 6:30). The space isn't super big but it is cozy and seems ideal for a date night or a quick meet up. I browsed the food menu but didn't see anything that I would want to try. I love wine but there is a lot I don't know about wine! Fiona was great and was able to help me navigate through their extensive wine list. I ended up trying a few different ones, including some whites, although I'm a red gal! I did the wine flight (all reds and my favorite ended up being Penley Estate, a cabernet sauvignon from Australia (it had a lil "spice" to it). I would definitely come back just for that and to try some of the other selections : )

Rachel B.

Yelp
We were visiting DC for a few days and saw this place had happy hour deals on wine flights. We sat at the bar and our bartender was very nice. Wine was good, although I wish I was asking if I wanted stemmed glasses, but maybe you can't for the tasting. We ordered the cheese plate, hummus with veggies, and steak. I'm mostly giving this place 1 star off because they charged us $3 for more bread with the cheese plate - and it took 25 minutes to get it. The roasted veggies and hummus were amazing, if I lived here I'd come back weekly just for that! Overall great visit!

Maria-Elena T.

Yelp
Met a friend here in a Thursday around six and there were 3 seats left open at the bar but none next to each other. So I decided on a table. I ordered the thought-provoking light-bodies reds flight for the HH price of $15. There is no food on the HH menu. Service was good - one person takes your order another brings your wine and explains it. We split the spiced nuts and ricotta cheese. Both were delicious and easy to split.

Yelp
Had a great time here on Friday night! Flight has, unsurprisingly, great wine flights. Great service (thanks Josh!) and my friend and I had a wonderful time. The food is delicious, try the fingerling potatoes, the scallops, and the steak. Perfectly portioned and delicious, will definitely return!

Ershia F.

Yelp
Loved my experience at flight wine bar! Our server (unfortunately I forgot her name) was super accommodating and very well versed in the wines so she was able to give me a great recommendation based on my preference of sweet wines! I went in thinking that the "let's go island hopping" flight was my best bet but she had recommended "all the better to smell you with" and I loved it! I even got two glasses of the Riesling after! We also indulged in the charcuterie board and it was very delicious. A nice summer hangout spot but I can honestly see myself going well into the fall with this place! Hoping to return soon!

Bonnie P.

Yelp
Great spot for wine and snacks. I was most impressed with the service and ambiance. The Hostess was flawless and my waiter , Josh was outstanding. I enjoyed myself and will definitely return. Josh was very careful to let me know that the tip had been added. Really enjoyed myself and look forward to returning.

Mariana D.

Yelp
Fiona is amazing Fiona is amazing Fiona is amazing Lol- we'll all the attendants/ wine sommeliers are pretty awesome . We were blessed to have Fiona help us towards giddiness last night annnnnd she's a Bay Area native (from Cali) Awesome Extremely helpful- not only did she provide great wine recommendations BUT she's familiar enough with our country's wine capital (Napa/Solano county) where she could direct us to local spots I definitely plan on visiting when I return home Unique stuff: - wine cafe has great curb appeal - beautifully decorated inside (we sat at the bar) - great food: loved the fried potteries and chicken - amazing wine list annnnnnnnnnnnd..:: They have wine flights and a great happy hour menu Note: wine flights are kind of like beer flights. They pair 3 different/ themed wines m, which come in small 4oz glasses:!def a great option if you like variety

Melissa B.

Yelp
This wine bar in downtown Chinatown was amazing! The inside has a super cool design surrounding the bar and great ambiance. We ended up sitting outdoors because it was nice out and ordered a wine flight, the braised short ribs, and the Arancini. Both of the food items were amazing! The sauce on the short ribs was so good we wished we had bread to dip in the left overs. Our waitress was super helpful and actually customized a wine flight for me to include all of my favorite wines (a merlot blend, Tempranillo, and a third I can't remember). She was super knowledgeable about the wines and was able to find three wines I loved. My friends got the rose flight and a customized flight of whites as well and loved them both. The owner, Swati, was also super friendly and stopped by our table to say hello and make sure our evening was great. She even let us sample an all natural local wine which I ended up really enjoying.

Marie H.

Yelp
So here's the tea my friends recommended this place last minute on a Friday. And of course I was down. I got there with less than 30mins before close and I was able to experience the flight. I enjoyed myself in those 30 or less minutes and I'm totally going to go back. Pros: Cost of a flight...very reasonable They didn't neglect the muscat grape like most do ( it's my favorite grape)

Caroline M.

Yelp
Had a lovely Saturday night dinner with my partner here! It's like a funky cave and it is a GREAT place for a date night or anything. The servers were so nice, helpful and very knowledgeable! We were very pleased. Each got a wine flight and an extra glass. As well as potatoes, a cheese plate, and Arancini! All amazing. They also did such a good job with COVID precautions and sanitation. A very comfortable place to sit inside.

Amy L.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of dining at Flight on the opening day of "patio season". Our host recommended a skin-contact pinot grigio from Slovenia to start. The burrata with tomatoes was outstanding. For entrees we chose the beef skewers which were served with an amazing side of garlicky spinach and the fried chicken with a tangy shaved carrot salad - both were delicious. We rounded out our meal with a decadent flan. Fantastic service, and yummy food. We'll be back.

Sanne C.

Yelp
Flight wine bar had top notch service. Fiona was personable, funny, and when she discovered I was new to the area was quick to offer an extensive list of restaurants and activities I had to try to become a D.C. local. The wine was delicious, and I tried a glass of Madeira for the first time, that although was a little too sweet to my liking, was quite delicious. D.C. mandate is it is required to purchase food with alcohol, which we knew, but came here after dinner thinking we'd get some sweet bites to accompany dessert wine. Unfortunately, they only had house made flan and packaged ice-cream bars on the dessert menu. It would be nice if they expanded the dessert menu, but it is certainly not a deal breaker. Altogether, a wonderful experience!

Nisha P.

Yelp
This review is for the wine only and not the food. I came here for a quick drink on a weekend night with a friend before going to dinner. We sat at the bar and each got a flight of wine. The woman at the bar was incredibly nice and had really great suggestions when we were trying to pick our flights. The food that some of the people around us got also looked incredibly appetizing. Will definitely be back for more wine and to try out their food!

Diana S.

Yelp
This wine bar has been on my list for quite some time, and my companion and I decided to check it out on a Saturday night. Reservations are definitely recommended, as this place got crowded quick, but never overwhelming. Our server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. We told her what kind of wine we generally liked and she made some wonderful recommendations. Definitely recommend trying some flights here, which is actually one of the reasons we decided to try it out! We also had a charcuterie board which came with quite a bit of meat, cheese and bread for a fairly decent price. Overall I really enjoyed my time here, and I would love to come back for a full meal at some point.

Jasmine R.

Yelp
This was a really cute and intimate spot. This is not really a place to go for dinner if you're actually hungry because their food menu is limited, but if you're just in the mood for some appetizers and drinks, definitely check it out. A friend and I ordered the Like a Diamond in the Sky trio at the recommendation of our server, and it was lovely. They give you a cute little card that provides you with the information about your wine flight (type of wine, where it was made, etc). I actually used the card to look up one of the wines in the trio because I thought it was so tasty and wanted to purchase it for my own home. I kept my card because I thought it was so cute. We tried the fingerlings as an appetizer and they were really well seasoned. The service was excellent and I love the decor. I will definitely be back to sample more wines.

Justin P.

Yelp
Great place to sample a HUGE amount of wine. Pricey, but of course it's for getting a great selection of wine. The bartender who served us took the time to explain each wine that we were interested in drinking, and for the 3 for $18 deal that we ended up getting, she explained each one - meaning taste, year, history, and where it came from. Great wine spot and date spot too. Ambiance was very nice. Please go here if you are into wine.

Truth S.

Yelp
First time I've ever tried this place, the owners are accessible and very knowledgeable online. The menu is small but they do everything perfect. And the service is wonderful. I can give them more than five stars award would.

Kenny M.

Yelp
Fiona was incredible and offered so many recommendations during our visit. I explained the wines I liked and Fiona recommended a flight and then a glass of wine after that were all phenomenal. I was skeptical at first but her expertise was demonstrated when her recommendations were exactly what I was looking for. 10/10 if you're a wine drinker you must stop here, excellent selection of over 500 wines and a delicious charcuterie option to accompany. I will definitely be back!

Stephanie T.

Yelp
If you are looking for a charming bar, fine wine and good food, you can't go wrong with Flight Wine Bar. It's cozy and great for a date or a get together.

Kristi C.

Yelp
This is now my go-to choice for drinks after work, but my experience is that the food offerings could improve to the level of the wine offerings. I love the friendly and helpful staff here. I actually prefer to sit at the bar so that I can engage with the bar tender in between chatting with my friend or husband. There's also a lot more light and vibrancy here compared to the tables. The wine list covers a great range of flavors and regions, and it provides helpful notes that a normal person can understand, no wine dictionary required. When you like wine it's nice to be able to try more than one without needing to order full glasses, so the flights they offer are so nice! And if anyone isn't a wine fan, or just isn't feeling it that night, there's plenty of good beers and cocktails on offer, too. Wine flights are also $3 off during happy hour! I never need a full meal when I come here, and I know that's not their angle, but I do always want at least some kind of snack. My favorite thing so far has been the pâté, but remember to order another batch of toasted bread, because it's rich. The nuts are delicious, but their small size makes them hard to eat. The olives are good, but I only get them with another olive lover because it's a large serving. Back in the fall I tried the burrata and melon, but they're both too mild to pair together. Can't wait to keep coming back!

Kevin M.

Yelp
Actully pretty nice. You want olives, this the place. Good conversation with the servers. They seem to know their wine. Late hours so everything worked out.

Mel L.

Yelp
After getting the evening started at Poste, we moved our group of girls over to Flight. I had never been here before, but found the place quite to my liking right from the start. Their rustic decor creates a nice and warm atmosphere that literally invites you to hang out there for a longer period of time. We were able to snatch a long table on the right side and decided to order a few dishes to share since everyone was hungry. Here is what we decided to get: - Warm Spiced Olives - Tagliolini Con Tartufo - Mushroom Toast - Cheese & Charcuterie board for 5 with smoked speck, salami cured with fennel and Sangiovese, prosciutto, Beemster gouda and Bayley Hazen blue cheese All food options were great, but my favorites were the pasta and the blue cheese. For wines, we had a hard time deciding since their wine menu is massive. Eventually, we paired together in 2s and each pair ordered a couple of flights. My girl and I went with the "Old World Whites" and the "Balkan Reds". All wines were lovely, but I think I enjoyed the whites a bit more than the reds. All in all, I had a lovely experience here and I can't wait to come back during my next visit to D.C.

Phyllis R.

Yelp
First time here, we loved it. Josh, our server, was knowledgeable and excellent. I had the shrimp which were several smaller shrimp in an exquisite sauce. Husband had the hangar steak and said it was excellent. We tried two different wine flights; husband loved his, I discovered a couple that I don't actually like (but drank anyway) plus ordered another mini-pour of a different type, recommended by Josh, that I ended up liking the best. Atmosphere was lovely, music in background not overpowering. Filled up pretty quickly on a Friday night but I never felt rushed. Not cheap, but not overwhelmingly expensive. I like that they include a 20% gratuity for the whole staff to share, I didn't feel pressured to leave extra.

Rumit P.

Yelp
For suburb dwellers whose commutes consist of a mix of Metro, car, and bus, there are many options to get to the Chinatown area but few options for parking. As with most businesses in that location save the Verizon Center, Regal Cinemas, and Bed Bath and Beyond, few establishments have their own parking lots or garages, so one is stuck doing a series of left turns or U-turns or the slow creep to look for a parallel parking spot while making sure no one behind one's car, ready to blare their horn for being slow. Despite the bar being in Chinatown, it has an upscale, pleasant atmosphere. There is a short ramp for handicap access to the main floor. My friend and his wife held a private wedding reception here on Saturday, and the entire place was reserved for us. With about 40-50 guests, the place was cozy, with its walls of half booths, window area arranged with tables and chairs, and a central space with a curved bar with unique wood contours on the ceiling. Getting a drink was no problem. The bartenders were competent and friendly, maintaining adequate control over the bar. The bussers were quick and attentive and discreet. The lighting level was dim but not so dark I couldn't read the menu. I'd return (take Metro) and check out their full menu of food and drinks on a non-special event day.

Yelp
This is a great place to either go on a cute date, or meet with you gal pals. The wine selection is great. In fact, the over idea about this place is wonderful. It's nice to able to go wine tasting without having to drive a few hours away to a vineyard. However, Flight loses a point to its menu. Sadly, it's a bit vague and confusing. They only thing that made sense was the crispy potatoes, and they were a bit too crispy and salty. It would have been nice if the waitress gave me a bit more information about the menu. Instead of walking away so fast before I could ask. I tried the old world red wines, and they were delicious and quite strong. If you are a Malbec lover, this one is perfect. Maybe some steak bites or some kind cheese would have accompanied this well, instead of the crispy potatoes.

Meili L.

Yelp
We had a reservation for dinner. When we arrived, the hostess seated us. We were looking at the menu for like 20 minutes. We didn't have a server to greet us or take our drink order. Actually, we didn't even see a server and it was not that busy. $18 wine flight tasting from Different regions

Fallyn G.

Yelp
Great spot to stop by for those that love a nice glass of wine. The space is intimate with great lighting that matches the mood and atmosphere. We enjoyed seats at the bar, where you can enjoy a wine tasting and have conversation with the friendly bartender. Tastings are higher than your normal wine tastings but priced fairly for the amount of wine you get. We didn't get to try the food since we had just finished dinner around the corner but I look forward to coming back for more wine and a bite to eat. The menu is a little limited, so I may have to go back with the ladies instead of hubby. The Flight Wine Bar is definitely a perfect way to wine down.

Alyssa A.

Yelp
I came here for happy hour yesterday and it was awesome! It was supposed to be 3 of us, but one of my friends backed out and the other was 20 minutes late. I was sitting there by myself, and took a call and the staff was super accommodating. They were really friendly and came by to check on me frequently. On top of that, they didn't seem to mind at all that I was holding a table for my friends. Their happy hour specials were wonderful and no restricted to any seating areas. They also have outdoor seating which looked really nice. The ambiance of the place is great too. Fries - awesome. They came with a great cream sauce. Zucchini fritters - These are sort of like little patties or zucchini mix that breaded and fried. 4 come in an order and they were tasty. Steak Slider - A MUST. This was the best thing we got and they were a good size. If you're looking for a convenient restaurant with awesome food and good service, this is the spot. Stop by for happy hour if you get out of work early one day.

Yelp
I love going to Flight for many reasons, and have had numerous wonderful experiences! I HIGHLY recommend this bar! The wine - the wine here is amazing and has a diversity that is perfect for the newcomer or experienced wine taster. I have had many experiences sitting at the bar asking for recommendations, sampling through wines, and getting that perfect Flight... which brings me to.... The staff - everyone here is friendly, attentive, and they seriously know their wine. They are knowledgeable about the menu and accommodate even the pickiest of winos (me). The food - yum! The food is delicious and your server can always recommend a wine pairing. Ambiance - flight has a gorgeous bar, and a very romantic and intimate ambiance. I love coming here to drink some great wine and speak at a normal volume to have a chat with whomever I'm with. I've had nights where I can stay here for hours! (Again, thanks for the patient staff). If you are looking for a gem of a wine bar, you have to make it into Flight!

Yelp
I have had several beer flights in my life but never a wine flight. I like wine significantly more so you can imagine my excitement when I found this wine bar. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable if the wine list that had some unique options I had not heard of before. They had a very extensive selection of different wine flight combinations, it was exciting to have more options besides just a white flight or red flight. I had gone with a friend while I was visiting from out of town and I was happy it was quiet enough that we were able to catch up easily dispute it being fairly crowded when we arrived. I was surprised to see how early it closed, by 10pm we were getting rushed out which was definitely a change for me coming from NYC. I loved the experience of trying several wines and would like to come back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
This review is going to be a little different. Flight offered a July 4th rooftop party, all you eat and all you can drink for 95$ a person. This was my first time spending July 4th in DC, as I just moved here I didn't really feel like battling the mall, and wanted a nice night with my bf who was in town visiting. When we arrived, we were greeted in the lobby by a host and guided to the rooftop. She was extremely nice, as was every single member of the staff. They were all just so friendly, despite working the holiday. Flight is a family run operation, which makes it even more enjoyable. When we got to the rooftop, the bar was already open with tons of wine. Sparkling, reds, whites, blushes. Wine for days. We had a nice table, with a good view. When the buffet opened, we got right in line. The food was very good. The braised short ribs were extremely tender. Chicken skewers were a little dry, but understandable for the quantity made and that they were sitting out. My only complaint on the buffet was that the salad was brought out so much later than everything else, so I didn't get any of it because I was so full. As for the appetizers passed around, the burger sliders were delicious. I don't like blue cheese, but they were perfect. The deviled eggs were good too. My only suggestion for the appetizers would be to have tooth picks or tongs for the eggs, so they aren't getting touched by everyone. When the fireworks started, the building in front of us blocked our view. We could see the tops of the fireworks, which was good enough for me. If a perfect view of fireworks is what you're after, this may not be for you- go battle the mall. But if you want a relaxing night, sipping wine, eating great food, and being surrounding by happy people, check out Flight (I hear they do New Year's Eve too). My only wish- they should have some music playing in the background. Overall, great night.
