Flo is a cozy Noble Square gem serving up vibrant Southwestern dishes and killer cocktails, perfect for brunch or a casual dinner on its spacious patio.
"Flo’s has been in West Town since 1999, and the New Mexican specialties are what you want. They do breakfast six days a week (they’re closed on Mondays), and we endorse the huevos rancheros or anything with chorizo. For dinner, get the enchiladas or the green chili stew. And if you’re here on a weekend for brunch, you’ll also find some over-the-top sweet dishes, like their Fruity Pebbles French toast." - adrian kane, veda kilaru, john ringor, nick allen
"Flo is a Chicago brunch classic that serves Hatch chile burgers, and southwestern-style favorites. It’s a cozy space akin to a diner, and worth becoming a regular at." - Eater Staff
"Flo is best reserved for weekends. Hungover, or not hungover. A nice day and you’re looking to start it off with a Bloody Mary or mimosa. Or maybe it’s cold out, and you’d like to escape the gloomy weather with a plate full of chili enchiladas. Either way, these are all ideal times to head to Noble Square for some breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Flo serves dinner too, although it’s not normally when we like to go. That being said, if a hatch green chili cheeseburger sounds like it’s for you, then by all means give it a try. New Mexican flavors are the strong point of Flo, and any item involving the word chorizo, huevos, enchiladas, or chili in the name is definitely worth ordering. While you can often expect a bit of a wait on weekends, it’s never enough to turn you away. Plus, they’ve got self-serve coffee at the front of the house. It’s a nice touch. You can go for lighter smoothies or vegetarian portabella tacos, but if you’re really looking to get down, just say f*ck it and order the Fruity or Cocoa Pebbles French toast. That’s right. French toast encrusted in your favorite childhood cereals topped with berries and potentially a little whipped cream. The sight will make the kid in you give a little “AAAHH!!! Real Monsters” scream. But like anyone under the age of 12 who consumes too much sugar, either version on your own will take its toll. Our advice is to get an order for the table as an extra dish to share. Food Rundown Triple Berry Smoothie A blend of berries, banana, peach nectar, and yogurt give this berry heavy smoothie a sweet touch. Portabella Tacos These breakfast tacos served with scrambled eggs, portabella mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and pico de gallo might just be our favorite thing on the menu. We like to get the red chili on the side so we can manage just the right amount. Huevos Rancheros Cheese enchiladas topped with red chili sauce and fried eggs, plus black beans on the side. Feel free to get this dish with either the red chili, green chili, or the Christmas blend of both. Huevos Verdes Cheese and chorizo enchiladas with green chili and fried eggs on top, including a side of potatoes. Oh yeah. Chorizo-Tamale Hash Corn masa, over which chorizo, cheddar, cheese, and poached eggs lay. A touch of red chili gives it just the little bit of spice you need. Fruity Pebbles French Toast Nobody else serves Fruity Pebbles French toast. You probably need to try it. Cocoa Pebbles French Toast OK we lied, you don’t have to order the Fruity Pebbles version, but you have to at least get one of the two." - Sam Faye
