The 17 Best Vegan Restaurants In Philadelphia - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Fishtown’s Float Dreamery doesn’t have a shop. You order the daily flavors from a small window, so it’s very much like waiting behind the curtain for The Wizard of Oz to grant you a wish (except instead of Auntie Em you get ice cream magic). You can get one scoop for $5, two for $9, and a perfect ice cream sandwich like tahini chip and vanilla for $6. If you’re dairy-free, it’s a slam dunk place to get flavors like mint birthday chip, lychee, ube, and mango. Just a tip—they make small batches and sell out quickly, so get there when they open at noon." - candis mclean

The Ultimate Philly Ice Cream Shops

"The vegan ice cream scene is bigger than ever, and Float Dreamery is an excellent local choice for dairy-free gelato. Only available a few hours a week at the Castellino’s window in Fishtown, it’s no wonder Float Dreamery has a devoted following. With rotating flavors like My Thai’p (Thai tea gelato, peanut butter-covered chocolate wafer) and Baklava Corvette (coffee gelato, maple-soaked pecan baklava), preordering online for pickup is well worth it." - Ernest Owens, Eater Staff

The Best Soft Ice Cream In Philadelphia

You can get one scoop for $5, two for $9, and a perfect ice cream sandwich like tahini chip and vanilla for $6. Amazing! Lives up to the hype. Biked here after a day of cycling in the Wissahickon and it was absolutely worth it. My friend and I split a pint of 50 Shades of Sade (brownie batter gelato, chocolate sauce, salted chocolate chip cookie bits) since we weren't as interested in the available scoop flavors and we could not have made a better choice. I never would have guessed this was vegan gelato; it was very rich and creamy, and had just the right amount of equally delectable add-ins. The staff is very kind and, as we were leaving, also offered us each a free salted chocolate chip tahini cookie as well, which was phenomenal -- crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. I'd go back again just for that cookie. Highly recommend if you're in Fishtown on a weekend!

Absolutely amazing! My husband and I loved our two picks for the day. We were happily welcomed first-timers here at Float Dreamery. We had so many questions, and they were all answered..... mostly about the flavors. We received a complimentary Vanilla Ice Cream sandwich.... yum! So rich!! Same goes for our two picks; Globzilla 3 and Honky Tonk. This is the type of ice cream that you savor, sample, share and enjoy. We love anything peanut butter, so Honky Tonk was a hit. And Gobzilla 3, which was chocolate everything, is just up our alley. All were rich, tasty, frozen just right, and soooo tasty❣️

This place is worth the trip! Got a scoop of the maple reduction baclava and a couple of pints to take home. Such unique flavors and one of the best ice cream spots in Philly!

One of the best ice cream / gelatos I’ve ever had. The texture is perfect. Fun, delicious flavors. My non-vegan friend said if he didn’t know it was vegan he never would have guessed. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself.

Maybe the best vegan ice cream I've ever had. The wacky road is unreal. I don't know how they do it. Also run by the nicest guy in the world. Go now!!

It's so great to have vegan ice cream in Fishtown!!! Not only is it non dairy and delicious, but the flavors are extremely creative and unique, you get the opportunity to try ice cream flavors that you would only dream about having. The owners have a great sense of humor and a love for their community. So happy about this place

Google
Really love this place. I went there on a sweltering summer day to pick up an order my girlfriend had placed. There was a mixup finding the order (not their fault, I was working with incomplete information) but the staff was friendly and understanding the whole time. When we got it all resolved I was able to pick up what I went there for and got an ice cream sandwich for the road. Really delicious vegan Ice cream and cool folks! Float Dreamery is a great addition to the neighborhood and I'm looking forward to visiting again!

Gluten Free Plant-Based Ice Cream and Ice Cream Sandwiches!!! I had the pumpkin sandwich and hubby chose the chocolate chip flavor - both are gluten free [Celiac-safe!] and so delicious. Get one for yourself soon and float away on a dreamy cloud of yummy goodness. We will be back many Saturdays to come. Thanks Float Dreamery.

Yelp
My vegan friend heard about this place, but hadn't tracked it down since it only seems to be open a few hours per week. Today was that day. It's a bit hard to find because it actually operates out of a commissary kitchen (that's what we call them in Seattle), where various food businesses prepare and/or serve their food on different days. We found all of this out by chatting with one of the two owners of the vegan gelato business while he dished up our scoops: a mint chocolate chip with fudge swirls for me and a Neapolitan for my pal. The base was oat milk/coconut , and the fudge swirl in my mint was chewy rich, much better than the average fudge swirl I have tasted in ice cream. I am not the biggest fan of vegan ice cream, but I would eat Float's version anytime! The owner was friendly and answered all of our questions about the ingredients. Since it's window service, you have to enjoy your treat elsewhere. If 5 stars from a non vegan doesn't convince you, check it out for yourself!

Yelp
SO good. Love that everything is vegan. Flavors, textures, vibes on point. Follow their IG for info about flavor drops and when they'll be open!
