"Follow the scent of chicken tinga down Union Street to Flores, a Mexican spot with a dining room more photographed than the Wave Organ—think rattan lamps, murals, and an indoor-outdoor seating situation perfect on fogless sunny days. The Cow Hollow restaurant is where you’ll see gaggles of twenty-somethings downing mezcal margaritas alongside families with kids getting hands deep in chilaquiles. For dinner, get the tostada de atún and carnitas tacos, and the carne asada plate with sunny side up eggs at brunch. photo credit: Krescent Carasso" - Julia Chen
"Flores is a good spot for impromptu weeknight get togethers. A big reason to go here is for margaritas, but the food is solid as well. We like the duck enchiladas both because they’re good and because they’re small enough that you won’t have to share if you don’t want to. Maybe split some guacamole, too." - will kamensky
"While Flores does fit in well with the lively pre-game restaurants around it, it’s also a good spot for an impromptu date. This place always has a good buzz, but you’ll still be able to focus on each other or at the worst, have to lean in a little to hear what they’re saying. Get a few margaritas and some tacos and enchiladas to split, and then go to Loving Cup for dessert afterwards." - taylor abrams, will kamensky
"Also from the Back of the House group, Flores offers fresh Mexican fare for happy hour and brunch crews, with a good list of tequila and mezcal cocktails, guacamole and salsas smashed from the molcajete, and fish tacos and crab tostadas." - Dianne de Guzman, Eater Staff
"Every show about a tight-knit group of friends needs a diner or a bar where they happen to run into everyone they know. If there were a sitcom in Cow Hollow, Flores would be that spot. It’s a Mexican restaurant that, aside from having great carnitas, crab tostadas, and margaritas, is good for so many different social situations. You could sit at the bar for a date that’s on the lower end of romantic, bring a group that involves dogs to the patio, or even celebrate a birthday at the tables in the back. This place is always busy, and always a good decision when you’ve got plans to go out on Union Street after." - taylor abrams, will kamensky
