"This sweet neighbourhood cafe in Wandsworth is a favourite with locals and has some bench seats out front which are great for drinking coffee and getting a bite to eat when the sun is out." - oliver feldman, rianne shlebak
Flotsam & Jetsam Review - Wandsworth - London - The Infatuation
"Flotsam and Jetsam is a cute neighbourhood café on Wandsworth Common that gets pretty busy, so if you’re rolling with a gang you might not find space. Inside there’s an airy feel, but our choice when the sun is shining is to grab one of their bench seats out front." - Rianne Shlebak
I drive out of my way to come here and always have the delicious espresso eggs Benedict, perfectly cooked eggs and nicely crispy bacon (although the amount of hollandaise varies each time). I'm a midweek breakfast customer and find service and food delivery speedy. Most of all, I love the service; the gentleman on the floor is attentive, kind and personable and they give the impression that they enjoy engaging with their customer.

We been here for over 4 years, Service was ok, but it will be great if the staff welcome with a smile, food always amazing with the good quality of ingredients, coffee good as always, trendy decor, would like to recommend owner ventilation need work, after leaving you will smell of the food on your cloth.

Really special brunch spot! Went for a birthday brunch and the food and service delivered on making it a memorable occasion. The staff were attentive, service a good speed for how full it was and we didn’t wait too long for a table. The food was tasty, the espresso hollandaise took some getting used to, but definitely was something different. Pancake was amazing!

Amazing coffee, really good food and welcoming service. The selection is wide so everyone will find something for them. My hubby tried smashed avocado with extra eggs which was made extra special with marinated chilli which gave a very nice sweet and spicy taste. I took American pancakes which I found a very nice taste and probably one of the best I have eaten. The atmosphere is fantastic.
The place is busy - we arrived at 9:30am and had to wait for 10 mins to get a table. They keep a list of people waiting so you don’t have to queue. There are lots of tables outside so you can sit down while waiting there or I imagine in summer actually have breakfast there. This place is popular with families, you can see lots of babies in car seats even. Toilets were very nice and spacious as well.

Honestly like Fawlty Towers but not funny. We waited an hour for our food. They brought us the wrong order twice and the people across from us got the wrong order three times. The server was sweet but offered no apology at all - and when the food came it was truly terrible. All cold, I got undercooked over-processed sourdough with no butter, one overcooked and one undercooked egg, and burnt chewy rubbery halloumi slapped on the plate with a few nicroherbs on top. With the number of excellent independent cafes around Wandsworth this was a stand-out for being throughly disappointing. Oh and to top it off we (and the couple opposite) also got the wrong bill.

TLDR: Unfriendly server and got charged more than advertised price.
Was very quiet when I went in so took a seat and then immediately got told off by the waiter for not waiting to be sat in an almost empty cafe. I understand waiting to be sat in a restaurant but not in an empty cafe. Ordered a flat white which was advertised as £3.70 but got charged for £4.17 which I assume was some sort of automatically added service charge / cost of eating in. It wasn’t an optional charge or and wasn’t explained. Didn’t have time to discuss as needed to leave.
