"Early birds get the fresh, hot biscuits at Flour, which took over the street-side corner of the S&W Market in late May. The bakery/cafe opens at 7 a.m. daily to serve downtown residents and workers their morning coffee and sweet and savory breakfast foods, then segues smoothly to an afternoon and evening menu featuring housemade focaccia sandwiches, pizza, salads, daily specials, cookies, cheesecake, wine by the glass and Aperol, Hugo, and amaro spritzes." - Kay West

Flour has been an excellent addition to the S&W but also to Downtown Asheville in general. In addition to the delicious biscuit (baked to perfection), the service was also great. I was planning to pay with my phone and unknowingly it was dead! I had no other way to pay, and the man working let me us a cellphone charger to use. They also trusted that I would pay and went ahead and gave me my latte and cooked my food so there was no delay. Definitely make a visit here if you’re a local or tourist. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks guys!

I love Flour! They are always playing cool music, and everyone there is warm and gracious and happy to be serving breakfast to Asheville. I've gotten the bacon breakfast biscuit about six times already, but this time I went for a salad -- and let me tell you, I've never been happier to eat a salad for breakfast! Since I'm a delivery driver, they even made it for me on a small delay so that I could go knock out a stop instead of waiting. I got my husband a breakfast sandwich from Flour almost two months ago and he still talks about it! And he's a chef. ;)

I am scared to write a review because this place/food Is SO GOOD that the next time I go there will be a crazy line out the door and three blocks long!! (For now, it’s short so definitely go without the need to download a movie). Location: this breakfast walk up counter is located in the front of the S&W building. There are little tables so you can eat there or of course take anything to go. They offer 5 incredible food items, the biscuit being the highlight (imo) and daily offer a variety of ever-changing baked goods. Also there are coffees/drinks. EVERYTHING, is home made. Let me explain something, I grew up in the south and I know a biscuit- Flour’s biscuits are the most incredible tasting and textured thing I’ve ever had!! They serve it warm, with a generous amount of butter (honestly enough for 3) and home made strawberry jam (both served on the side). The outside of the biscuit almost has a thin crunch layer on the top of the crust with a small amount of course salt, and the inside is steamy and completely moist, almost cake-like. I mean, wow. Like WOWWWW. They are huge, and we always split one but every time we are tempted not to because we get greedy over this amazing thing. The fellows that own and operate it are friends from college and the most gracious lovely men. They have put their heart and soul into what they believe in and it shows. Hopefully you stopped reading my review a long time ago and are already there smiling in biscuit bliss but if not, put your phone down and go!!!

just visiting AVL but I had to leave a review! everyone working here was so kind and happy to be there. they appeared to be out of blueberry crumble cake but were somehow able to find one more piece for me. our lattes were delicious and my boyfriend enjoyed the absolute heck out of his bacon egg and cheese biscuit even complimenting how the bacon was cooked. the biscuit was warm and our lattes were hot! we will definitely be back next time we’re in town

Flour has the most moist but also crusty and delicious biscuit you can have in town. Their homemade strawberry jam is to die for and unlike any you've ever had The extra bonus point is they open very early and have strong and good coffee. Highly recommend trying them. They are located in the S&W foodhall.

Yall tried the Bacon 🥓 Egg 🍳 and cheese 🧀 biscuit at @flouravl yet?? If not put it on your list! I don’t even typically eat carbs but this I’d consider eating most days of my life! Nice crunch on the outside, gooey on the inside and stacked with eggs and bacon!! Delicious!! 😋 For my protein heavy friends you can do double meats but it’s a REAL mouthful! Enjoy 😊

Google
Flour is a gem for it's food, it's people and service, and it's heart. The biscuits are perfection; fluffy, buttery, fresh. The breakfast salad is genius. Lattes always on point. The pizza is top notch with inventive and delicious toppings. The sandwiches drool worthy. They offer vegetarian friendly options that are thoughtful and filling. In addition to the food, these guys care. They showed up for our community in huge ways during Helene - creating a hub that helped fill countless needs. Go visit them whenever you have the chance and order everything on the menu.

The two gentlemen work they were very nice and inviting, but the real star of the show is the biscuit. It is the best biscuit I’ve ever ever had in my whole life paired with the salted butter and homemade jam. The latte I ordered was perfect as well. Definitely a little gem of a place.

Yelp
Wow Wow Wow. The biscuit here is the best biscuit I have ever had. Nice crunchy crust but fluffy and light inside. I could eat these biscuits every day. My daughter had a bacon egg cheese biscuit sandwich which also was great. Can't wait to come back for more! Sorry no pictures as I forgot after the first bite.

Yelp
My iced vanilla latte was perfect. The mocha latte was equally tasty. The staff is very friendly and worked quickly to get all of the orders out. I didn't get to try any food but the biscuits looked delicious.

Yelp
A+ breakfast sandwich right here! My friend and I stumbled upon Flour after the cafe we originally planned to visit wasn't serving food. We had walked past the Food Hall and noticed Flour, so it was the perfect pivot and I'm so glad we went. The two guys behind the counter were super friendly and kind. I got the breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. Salty, warm, delicious. If I lived in Asheville, this would for sure be a staple for me!

Yelp
Very limited menu of amazingly well prepared breakfast sandwiches. We went early on a Sunday morning. The two guys behind the counter were well humored and steady as they catered to the crowd forming a line. Loved the broccolini in the breakfast sandwich!

Yelp
Best biscuit I've ever had in my life. No joke. Guys behind the counter were super nice as well.

Yelp
"I could die right now" said after eating a biscuit sandwich and drinking a peppermint mocha cappuccino is all you need to know! The baristas were so helpful and friendly, the space is beautiful, and all of the food and drinks are incredible. There are a lot of breakfast spots in the area, but this one is really spectacular.

Yelp
VERY much enjoyed the following delights...homemade focaccia (light & airy, fresh baked) sandwich- fresh italian mozzarella, prosciutto, flavorful pesto (tasted homemade, juicy and lots of it), arugula. Decided it's my new go to sandwich! The "breakfast salad" - flavorful and fresh. Mustardy-honey ish w/ the right amount of tart, frisée & radicchio, smokey, thick, crispy bacon pieces, freshly grated parm & topped with a fried egg. Best biscuit in WNC! Perfect crunch on the outside, moist, soft and buttery inside. New spot inside the beautiful S&W building food hall downtown. I would absolutely have all of these things again ...and again. Good, simple, European quality sandwiches w/ big flavor. Everything I ate tasted like it's made by people who definitely care about quality ingredients, flavor and freshness. Highly recommend all the things. Will be back!

Yelp
Flour is not too be missed if you want a delicious and filling sandwich. First the focaccia bread is fantastic, light and airy and full of flavor. The beets with the feta are such a great combination, and this sandwich also had cucumber, mint, cilantro. It's just that good.

Yelp
Stopped in for a couple of egg/bacon/cheese biscuits before hitting the road for the day. First, brought them back to the hotel, they are huge, tasty, and extremely well made. This place will spoil you if you've ever had an egg/bacon/cheese biscuit somewhere else, these are top shelf.

Yelp
I haven't posted a review for a place in years, but Flour is so good I felt prompted to rave about them. I can't stop thinking about their biscuits- so perfectly buttery and delicious, made from scratch, excellent for one of their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. They are also friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere casual but cute, I've had quick take out sandwiches but also eaten there. Don't miss out on their espresso or cookies either- such a solid gem of a place.

Yelp
Best sandwich in Asheville. Beet yogurt and cucumber on homemade focaccia. The boys are very good with people and are very welcoming. A must visit in downtown Asheville.

Shai P.

Yelp
The best biscuits in town! Focaccia sandwich's are absolutely incredible as well. Check out Flour for a coffee and biscuit ASAP!!

Yelp
had the butter and jam biscuit. Could tell the jam was made in house, the biscuit was so soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Forgot silverware and they brought it out to me. Best biscuit i've ever had, personally. Wish i had a picture but i ate my biscuit too fast. Will be coming back!
