20/10 exceptional food! We drove from Canada just for this fantastic culinary experience. Highly recommend the Chickpea Parm, Unbeetable Burger and Nut Yo Mamas Mac, finished with a delectable piece of carrot cake magic. Best food truck we've ever been too. You must go! As someone who has been a carnivore her whole life but now can no longer eat any beef products Ive had to branch out over the past 6 years and try vegan options for cheesy things and burgers etc (not many good options) Anyway I had the loaded sweet potatoes and Even though I wasn't really that hungry & don't remember all that was on it. I know it was a whole lot of yummy Oh My my my it was tasty!!! 10 out of 10 would recommend! Wow! This food truck is amazing! I am gluten free and dairy free and had lunch here for the first time recently and was amazed with how delicious the food is! Even my boyfriend who’s very blue collar and does not eat gluten free or vegan was impressed by the food, and that says something huge LOL! I got the caprese sandwich and the buffalo bites. To DIE for. The owner (I believe) was working the cart and was also so nice and really expressed gratitude for us coming by and enjoying his food. My only complaint, which is barely one, is that I don’t love the food cart place this food cart is in. The location is nice but the chairs feel a little dirty and old to me. I think this food cart is too good for the food cart hall it’s in. But this is out of the food cart itself’s control and I still would 100000/10 come eat here!

This place is something special. Maybe its the fact that it’s obviously the two rad chefs passion project that they cultivated out of their hearts? The positive energy is boomin’ here. I loved it. We tried everything but the beet burger a few weeks ago for a lunch with friends and can say that this is worth the trip. The menu is exciting and different, nothing I feel like I could whip up at home in a flash. The carrot corn dog took the cake for me, and my husband loved his quesadillas! You know you can trust a place when they put edible flowers to garnish your food. Annnnnd lastly they have succulents planted on the outside of their truck. Exceptional!! I came here as a gluten free dairy free girlie, and got the mac with buffalo chickpea fritters and mushrooms. they were PHENOMENAL. Flavorful and beautiful crispy fritters with creamy delicious mac. Highly recommend.

Amazing!! We got an extra stuffed Noritto wrap and panini. So good and full of extra stuffings we could hardly finish it all! We ordered most of the options on the menu and all were so good!! The carrot cake was the best I've had in years and I want the recipe!

I am not vegan but really enjoy a good veggie burger so I was pretty excited to try the beet burger. However, the beet/lentil/walnut patty itself fell apart instantly upon the first bite and probably needs an additional binder to make it cohesive. The burger itself was kinda otherwise ok. There were a ton of greens on it and some pickles and I felt like it was just missing something to balance out the bitterness of the greens and chimichurri. Having said that, I did not opt for the cashew cheese so maybe that was the missing ingredient that really ties it all together. I would definitely give this place a second try though and next time I'm in the area I will try some of the other menu options.

Their caprese panini is my favorite sandwich. The norito is inconsistently stuffed, we went one day and it was large but the very next day it was skinny and had a fraction of the fillings. The people working are polite and seem relatively happy to be alive. The seating is all outdoor, and the heater was not turned on when we went. Definitely a better option for food truck lovers or people tolerant to eating outside, but as one myself, it's my favorite place to eat. I have hardly tried the rest of their menu because the panini is so good.

My partner and I went to the Groundbreaker location, which is a cool spot. The service was quick and the food was really good quality. The onion rings were awesome!!! Five stars for the onion rings and their delicious dipping sauce. Here's why I'm going with 3 stars: We got the nachos and the chip part is made out of yucca. They were so hard we could barely bite through them. I actually sliced my gums while eating them. My partner said "do you think they know these are close to inedible?" The flavor was amazing though, so it was disappointing. The sauce was a delicious smoky flavor and the pickled jalapeño was a great addition. But I can't get past the yucca chips...why not use corn chips?

The chef informed us we'd have to wait 30 minutes for some dishes because she was cooking a fresh batch of the "Cashew Cheese". I've got mad respect for this food cart because they're all about serving quality food. Everything comes out fresh! However, the taste simply doesn't match the commitment to excellence. The "Mac N Cheese" was inspired with its topping of fried shallots and grillled broccoli. However, it was more Mac N "Sauce" than cheese because the cashew cheese wasn't gooey enough. Our big issue was that it just wasn't flavorful at all. The cashew cheese could definitely use any kind of spice. We topped our pasta with their "Chickpea FrItters". I liked the taste but the fritters were way too dry and difficult to eat without taking a big swig of water.

I've been to Flourish twice in the last two weeks. My first experience was with the Caprese sandwich, which has a house-made vegan pesto that is just delicious! I was full before the sandwich was finished, but I ate it all anyway, which is not like me....great flavors! I will say the GF bread was a bit oily rather than crisp, but it was also wrapped up for a bit before I got to it. My second time there, I tried to infamous beet burger (aka the un-beetable burger). This is an interesting one. I got it with vegan cheese (cashew, I think) and pickles, lettuce, etc. There is also a pesto type sauce on this one. It was very good, but the patty was very soft. I felt like it should have been crisp on the top and bottom, at least, but the flavor was good and it definitely didn't taste very "beet-y" to me. I think it needs a vegan aioli rather than the pesto, but this is a popular item for them, so it could just be me. Would I eat it again? Probably, but I look forward to trying something else on my next trip to Portland. All in all, great little vegan food truck surrounded by other gluten free and vegan food trucks, by the way, so if you're like me and need to avoid certain foods, this might be the area to visit! Sorry, no photos. I seem to always be eating in the car these days. :/

Wow! After working nearby for almost 9 months, I discovered this plant based cart today. It was a feast of vegan nachos and a farm fresh salad. The service was friendly and helpful--they take cards, which is great because the atm wasn't working. We sat in the March sun enjoying flavorful, fresh food. I'll come back again for another salad and perhaps another split main dish. They are open seven days a week with expanding hours for the spring and summer. I'm eager to share this gem with my vegan daughter. However there are many carts for animal protein loving companions as well, so don't let that hold you back from trying Flourish with your favorite carnivores in tow. Truly excited about the offerings here!

Definitely was between a 3 and 4 star rating but settled on 4 because: the customer service was super friendly and quick! Food came out fresh and piping hot. Also, a completely gluten free kitchen is an amazing treat for my celiac partner. We generally have to pore over menus to see what she can eat at a restaurant. We got the Spuds 2.0 (which their IG posts claim are like animal style fries from In n Out) and the onion rings. My partner hasn't had onion rings since her diagnosis so we were super excited about that. The spuds were cut in perfect small wedges, super crispy with a generous about of sauce and green onions on top. It was more than enough to split. The onions rings were thickly cut, and the batter was thick and to our surprise, didn't crumble off when you took a bite. Overall happy to try this food. However, a big drawback was the salt and oil factor. I get it, we ordered junk food. But the spuds were SO salty. We had to start scraping some sauce off to cut down on the salt factor. And the onions ring batter retained an insane about of oil. (Again, I get it, we ordered fried onion rings, what did we expect) But the amount of oil seemed atypical, especially compared to onion rings I have had from other places. However, like I said, the good overall outweighed the bad. I would like to return to try their "Not Your Mama's Fish Sandwich."

Well we came at lunch time on a Sunday and there were slim pickings. Only the Caprese Panini, Beet burger and pancakes were available. My son devoured the pancakes and said they were delicious. I wasn't in the mood to try something sweet since I'd ordered the Caprese Panini for myself and my husband also wanted that. My daughter wanted the beet burger so we ordered one of everything to try. I won't lie when I say I absolutely HATE beets. They taste like dirt but the burger sounded amazing. I ate about half the Caprese panini which was so good. The pesto was spot on and absolutely GREAT. But my daughter wasn't feeling the beet burger so I traded her. EVEN THOUGH I really really hate beets. The burger was good, but WAY too thick. It could have been HALF the thickness and far better. Now, for plant based food, there are loads of options in Portland. And in my opinion this fell WAY short of what they offered and what they charge. I get that it's a small business and I want to support them but guys you are really charging premium prices for good quality food; NOT great quality food. I wouldn't try this again because to me, the prices are far too high for what you get. I took photos of our food with my check in back in November, and I can't find them now so I apologize for that! But there are loads of great photos of the food!!! I am super bummed at our experience here but I wish them success.

I've been wanting to try this spot for a while since the unbeetable burger looks so good and fresh. The beet patty itself was really awesome but I wish it came on a bun and with more greens. But it was still pretty good and it tastes homemade for sure.

I've been wanting to try this place, but I will admit I've been cold-weather avoidant so have been defaulting to places with online ordering for pickup. Also, I'm not vegan/vegetarian. Sometimes vegan food is weird and sometimes it's mind blowing. This was the latter. I got the caprese and the Mac n cheese. The caprese was CRAZY. What the hell is it made of? Delicious pesto and balsamic and whatever the moz is - perfection. The Mac n cheese was pretty dang good too. I love that they give you a bunch of broccoli... sometimes the only thing that keeps me from ordering Mac is the pure gluttony of it all. This one you can tell is a much healthier version but still hits the spot. I want to try the nori burrito next!

I'm a carnivorous man by nature. That's not to say I don't like my plants, I just like them with my meat. Hell, I won't even eat an apple by itself unless I have some pork belly to chase it with. I've had vegan meals before, and enjoyed them, but those are usually ethnic based recipes, mostly Ethiopian or Thai dishes. I've had one or two "burgers" or "tacos" that I would say are better than OK, especially if I've had a few white claws beforehand. So there's my usual perspective, just for reference. Ok? Now... here is what I experienced at this more than fantastic food cart: I can count my top favorite burgers on less than two hands. They usually have some kind of micro-farmed animal protein, an extra fancy dairy based cheese, usually aged in a cave with alien artifacts, or made by monks or something, a rare veggie like cute little baby ferns, or dandelion leaves or something, maybe morel mushrooms marinated in Alaskan sea water... anyway, you get the point. I had the burger here. Today. And it's in my top three best burgers of my entire life. That is a fact. Not just that, but of all my favorite sandwiches? Yeah. Definitely top three still. I absolutely fell in love with it. It has a beet based patty, how that works, I don't know. You'll have to ask them. It had vegan cheese on it. Last time someone asked me if I wanted vegan cheese, my old grumpy ass snorted: "if by vegan, you mean it comes from vegan cows? Sure." It had some kind of marinated pickles, that I'd have gladly eaten by the handfuls. And it was on a really great toasted bun. Wary of this setup, (I was eating this on a dare, mind you. I don't seek out vegan burgers) I have it a sniff first to make sure I wasn't about to bite into fermented cardboard, as has often been my experience with vegan food. The aroma was... Gosh, how can I put this? Almost sensual. If you like food as much as I like food, you understand what I just said. Anyway... I took a bite. That was a mistake. I should not have taken a bite. The next thing you know I'm moaning. So I stop and look around, but nobody seems to notice, so I start cramming this work of art in my mouth, letting it crumble in my hands and all over my mustache. Little chunks of meatless love snack falling back into my to-go box. Mind you, this is the year 2020. You can die just from touching something and then touching your face. I'm like on a suicide mission to enjoy every fricken crumb. A friend of mine walks toward the table, cautiously eyeing me, obvious to the fact that I'm in a slight frenzy, and asks if I'm enjoying my meal. "Hey, I need a straw that's not already in use. Big enough to fit bits of this burger in. Small enough to fit in my nostril. I'm going to cut this damn thing into lines and snort it." That was my actual response. She'll back me up.

I finally made it to Flourish Plant Based Kitchen today. It was amazing! The special was a pulled carrot bbq sandwich. I decided to go ahead and get it! I also ordered a half order of nachos and the un beetable burger for my sister. We loved everything! The nachos were like nothing I have ever tasted! So unique and topped with amazing goodies. I will for sure be back try more of the plant based goodness on their menu. Did I mention its also gluten free?

Best part of all of this: the authenticity and the love. The owner of the truck is smart, down to earth, and customer-friendly. Don't read just over what I wrote, but really let the word 'customer-friendly' sink in, because that's what she is. The food she makes is well put together in terms of flavors and textures, the price for the value is very reasonable. I would gladly eat here again and hope that her business will do well.

Honestly, I'm not even vegan and I'm in love with this food truck. The Mac and cheese with mushrooms is my favorite thing ever. Except for the sweet potato fries which are cooked exceptionally well (sweets are always burned, but not at Flourish!) and the garlic aioli sauce is so good you're gonna want a vat of it to take home. Also worth mentioning are the plantain nachos- like wut?!? So good. Also, fresh squeezed lemonade. Just take all my money please. Hannah is a delight, her food is amazing, you will love it here! Grab food to go our hang out on the beer porch and get yourself a drink under the heating lamps.

Ordered the chickpea parm sandwich. Flavors were good but completely fell apart to pieces as soon as I took the first bite. I needed a fork to eat it. Bread is terrible, disintegrated into a mush and can't support all of the ingredients within the sandwich. I'm also disappointed that the fries didn't come with any ketchup....only some white dipping sauce.

My husband and I recently moved to Portland, and while looking for a place to live, found this delicious food truck parked in a food pod with some other wonderful vegan friendly places. We went there specifically looking for Flourish, but it was closed the day we went so we ordered lunch from the middle eastern place in the same location. That was so fantastic that it made us want to come back again when Flourish was open, which we did the very next day. I loved the Beet Burger so much and have been craving it ever since. We will definitely be back!

We like adding the fritters, mushrooms and broccoli... Give yourself the gift of the works haha The other favorite entree is the chickpea parm, but don't sleep on the nachos! Probably one of the healthiest and tastiest spots in Portland!

Dear god, best "Mac and cheese" ever. Intended on grabbing a quick lunch and chose "Not Yo Mamas Mac" to-go and ran back to work. I wasn't expecting much as I have been disappointed by plant based foods but this, this was literally the best Mac I have had in a year. The whole dish was perfectly prepared, vegetables cooked just right and seasoned deliciously. I am going to try the nachos next! Priced right, friendly service, quick turnaround but fresh. I swung by Flourish recently for that un-beetable burger and some of their mac & "cheese". Wow. Bold claim, but Flourish makes probably the best veggie burger in Portland. Period. A veggie patty made with beets, walnuts, and lentils that doesn't crumble into a million pieces after taking a bite. Not Yo Mama's Mac is also incredibly tasty. Service is fast and super friendly. You will leave satisfied and with a little less guilt!

Loved the pesto, cheese and marinara on the chickpea parmesan sandwich. The patty itself was a little two thick and lacked a little flavor. I'm amounting that to being just too thick to really cook fully and not quite seasoned enough. A thinner patty would of stood on it's own much better with the bomb sauces. The Mac and cheese was a no go for me. The broccoli in other reviews was brocolini, but unfortunately it was just regular broccoli with little to no seasoning. The Mac and cheese was really sour and needed a bit more salt. If they use nooch I would of added a bit more of that. Potentially even some miso to provide that umami kick of some sort. I won't write them off because those sauces were great! I wished the cheese on the sandwich was used in the Mac and cheese.

Flourish is so delicious I'm thinking of becoming a vegan. I life long carnivore, I'm super satisfied with everything I devour from this food cart. My favorite is the Sushi Norito, although the Caprese Panini and Chickpea Parm with the vegan mozzarella are a close second. These are not vegan chefs, their magicians and my tummy feels so good after eating this magical food. Also, the mushrooms are crack, be warned! You will get addicted to this food in the most wonderful way.

Living nearby the food carts is dangerous because this place is SO delicious! The food is clean and the flavors are incredible. I would eat here everyday if I could. I ordered 2 carrot dogs and a half order of nachos which were both really yummy! The nachos could use some more toppings on them though! I was over charged, and I messaged the owner on FB, and they credited back the overcharge to me. Make sure you're being charged the listed price.
