"I discovered a very photogenic new ice cream shop at 2617 W Holcombe Boulevard called Flower & Cream that opened this week and is currently in soft opening mode with 11 flavors ready (planned to expand to a 16-flavor rotation). Standout flavors include cereal milk Oreo and honey roasted strawberry, best-sellers Baileys & Blondies (made with the liquor and made-in-house blondies) and a cotton candy–Lucky Charm mashup called “Unicorn Tracks,” with one vegan option available now: toasted coconut. Scoops are served in cones and as cookie or macaron ice cream sandwiches, with pints to go, and the shop bakes all its mix-ins and cookies from scratch. Soft opening began Monday 6/24 at noon with 25% off purchases, and the grand opening is set for Saturday, June 29, when treats will be “pay what you want” (all proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Houston) all day or until the ice cream runs out; regular hours are Sun–Thu 12 p.m.–10 p.m. and Fri–Sat 12 p.m.–11 p.m." - Adele Chapin
