First time eating here. Very welcoming and well kept restaurant. Food was very well cooked to order and seasoned on-point for the most part. Temperature, texture, appearance, and taste of the food items were excellent. The menu with fresh and healthy dishes should cover most of the categories one would find at typical restaurants, including simple dishes for children. The main downside is the pricing is a bit higher than some competitive/similar health conscious eateries. Two people leaving at $50 is bordering on the high end for me. The portions were good enough. There are a number of in-house made drinks (rather than the typical fountain drinks). If you are in the neighborhood or want to try high quality healthy food (as well as vegan & vegetarian) dishes, I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment. Just make sure you look at the menu and pricing if you are on a budget.

I came here with my husband, family, and friends after our baptism. We needed an open space that was casual where everyone could order what they wanted without complications. I was so grateful it all worked out and we got to sit near one another. This made our night very enjoyable-especially since many people came from out of state and country. Everyone enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The service was fantastic. Shout out to the waitress who helped make it all possible. I can’t recall her name! Food options are expansive enough that everyone can find something they like and it’s all still healthy. There are options for kids as well. Pricing is pretty standard (around $25 for meal and drink). Overall, a great choice in the area.

This is my go to anytime I’m in Orange County for work. The food and quality and the macros are bar on some of the best in the area. The kitchen and the team there is phenomenal. I usually order off the app and grab and go because I am usually working but It’s a really great place to dine in as well. I highly recommend the vegan mac & cheese the chicken, the golden potatoes, and the glaze sweet potato.

The food was great, and the lady who took care of us was extremely professional, kind and friendly. After my mom and I ordered the food I asked her what she recommends at the restaurant. She came back a few minutes later with the highlighted menu and explained in detail her favorite menu items and why they were so good. I was really overwhelmed by her kindness. You don’t see being treated like this in Orange County at the restaurant. Extremely well managed as well. Talked to the manager for a couple minutes. Great guy, very professional and you feel welcome here.

First time here and loved it. Forgot to take a picture until I had already started eating! Food is just what I love to eat. I had the chicken breast with sweet potato and steamed brown rice. Sweet potato in particular was amazing. Simple service, received food quickly, everyone was kind, restaurant was clean. Menu selection looked big with salads, soups, entrees, desserts, everything. Go here.

Great location with so many parking, the food options are super healthy, delicious, and fulfilling. I recommend the Mother Earth bowl and if you don't like something they are happy to substitute it, very tasty! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the place overall very clean cool atmosphere. Its pricey, however you leave feeling satisfied rather than heavy. You order first and go seat yourself, then they bring you the food, place is pretty big indoor and outdoor seating.

Tried Flower Child at a friend’s suggestion and she was right. I had the chicken yakisoba noodles and my spouse the chicken enchiladas both were flavorful. I loved the crunchy snow peas. We will definitely be back to try other items 🥙

The food is absolutely as good as it gets. Healthy and amazing every time. The staff is so friendly and nice and they all have the best energy. We go here multiple times a week and pick this place over all restaurants in Orange County.

Fresh food without additives! The menu is clearly labeled with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. The queso was yummy, it's the right amount of creamy without being rich. Definitely upgrade to the raw veggies, your body will thank you. I liked the Mother Earth Bowl, but wasn't sure if they left out the vinaigrette bc it was kinda bland. Hubby's tofu with 2 sides was underwhelming and not worth getting again, sadly the bok choy was a garnish. Their Daily Soup was a white bean minestrone that was great although too salty. The teas are unsweetened which is nice, but light in flavor and the lemonade is lightly sweetened. Be sure to download their app for rewards and get 50 pts for signing up. They also had a free VDay dessert if you have the app.

my work regularly caters from flower child and i'm always sooooo excited when we have it! the food is always reliably good and feels clean and great in my body. i regularly order here on my own too because i prefer it over a lot of the other healthy spots in the area! the quality is miles above sweetgreen, especially the steak. and the customizable entrees makes it a better choice for me than truefood. for protein- i get their steak or salmon. the steak is really good and the salmon is salmon, not mind blowing but good old reliable for sides- i love the roasted broccoli, quinoa corn, and the mac! the sweet potato was okay overall a solid spot and wish i had one closer to me!

Love the space and how open the restaurant is. The food is also really good and tastes healthy. Service is friendly as well. My one hang up is that there wasn't a designated way to line up and place orders so everyone was entering through two separate doors and cutting in front of each other without anyone instructing patrons where to wait in line. Lack of order is definitely one pet peeve of mine when going to a crowded space. Besides this, I thought the food was good and I will be coming back.

My wife loves this place! The inside is fun for a semi-quick date night. Fresh food and a variety of modern options. Order at the counter and try to snag the corner booth. Quick service at the table, too! Quality over quantity here, so don't hesitate to order an extra side if you're hungry... (or splurge for the brownie when offered!).

I got my order to go, I always love flower child. The place is always clean and I got my food in less than 10 minutes. The girl that took my order was friendly and nice. I will definitely be coming back!

I was really excited to try this place after a friend recommended it. Being meat free, I wanted something warm and the bowls looked great but mixed with cold items. Went with the glow bowl sweet potatoes noodles with added salmon on top. It was warm and had a kick of spice to it. Good, just wasn't wow"d for first visit. Shrimp entree with side of broccoli and cauliflower risotto (tasty item) was also good not wow"d. I'd rate this place 3.5 but it's not an option. Love the decor, place has plenty of seating and employees are all helpful and nice. I may give it one more chance for a bowl next time. We'll see..

9/23/2024 GINGER MISO CRUNCH SALAD (carrot zoodles, zucchini, red pepper, cabbage, mint, cashew, sesame seed, asian dressing) Delicious! Anyone knows that a salad is no good without a good salad dressing! The dressing had a wonderful nutty, sesame flavor. Yes, you can taste the earthy miso, but I think they've added hoisin sauce because I can taste it. It definitely tastes like the Vietnamese spring roll peanut dipping sauce. Loved the amount of veggies in here. All fresh and crispy! My favorite bite was with the mint! It was refreshing and it made the salad with an added herbaceous flavor. The salad dressing was good too. I would not get sick of this salad. Added a side of steak and avocados which made the salad even better! If only I can add some sort of chewy Asian noodles, like soba or vermicelli, it would be perfect. Very satisfying from the first bite to the last bite! Would definitely order again the next time I'm in the area. TUSCAN CHICKEN WITH KALE, POTATO & FENNEL (DAILY SOUP available until 9/29) Light tomato based broth. Loved the big chunks of chicken, potato and roughly chopped kale. It was very hearty and satisfying! Some may find the broth to be slightly salty. However, it was perfect for me. I enjoyed it. CUSTOMER SERVICE Ordered online with the pickup time of my choice. Everything was ready for pickup at the exact time! All you gotta do is pickup at the pickup shelf toward the second entrance and front counter. There is also utensils on the side for your convenience. Everyone was friendly and were welcoming as I walked through the doors and even as I was leaving. One of the employees said, "Thank you!" and waved as I exited the restaurant. Been here a few times now and never had a bad experience.

Open seating in an upscale cafeteria-type interior! The vibes and lighting are really nice here. Plenty of parking, vegan options, and overall decent food with great service. Chicken Enchiladas 9/10 The moment I saw these on the menu, I knew they were the play. Not your traditional Latin enchiladas, but a damn good version nonetheless. Perfect balance of savory, acidity, and the cilantro hit so well!! Entree - cauliflower risotto and shrimp 6/10 Not bad, but I don't think cauliflower and risotto are harmonious, no matter the skill of the chef. There was a heavy coconut flavor that felt too sweet/fragrant. It came with sweet potato fries that were ok but far from a good fry. Overall, it's very friendly to meat-eaters and vegans alike.

Our favorite here is the Mother Earth Bowl with salmon! I love that it's healthy, yet super yummy. Avocado and salmon are my favorite combination so I never want to try anything else here. The one time I did, I still ordered salmon so it was still really good, but I was missing the avocado. I will still go back to the Mother Earth bowl cause you just get more variety and ingredients in it. The salmon doesn't look very impressive and actually looks rather bland, but it's always cooked and seasoned to perfection. We like to sit outside but it gets sunny so bring sunglasses and a hat if you plan on sitting outside.

It had been a few years since I experienced Flower Child so I'm excited to share this updated review. I met a friend here for lunch on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Flower Child is located in Newport Beach off Bison (in the same as Eddie V's). Upon arrival, I was greeted by a team member who asked if I was there to pick you up a takeout order. I let her know that I was a meeting a friend. I asked if I needed to be seated. She said, "You'll place the order at the front and we'll bring it to you!" I ordered the Chopped Vegetable salad with chicken and my friend got the Mother Earth bowl. We also added the chocolate chip walnut cookie to share. The service was friendly and professional. And the salads were fresh and deliciously prepared. Flower Child has won me over! :) If you're looking for healthy food in an inviting environment, look no further than Flower Child.

With this kind of response and attitude from management, this Flower Child location has officially lost my business for good lol. My complaint was mild, tactful and reasonable - the arugula was entirely yellow and wilted (even if the photo doesn't show it); I wouldn't waste my time bringing attention to this if it wasn't true. As I mentioned, out of respect for the years of enjoying great food at various Flower Child locations, I chose not to leave a negative review last year, despite experiencing a bad stomachache from an improperly cooked side steak. I teeter between 3 and 4 stars for this place. I've been twice. The wrap is pretty good. 4 stars The steak is tender and tastes delicious but has a weird smell to it. It paired well with the cauliflower risotto as the citrus in it helped cut the smell. 4 stars. The sweet potato fries were half good and half burnt. Some pieces were completely charred. I'd come for convenience but probably not go out of my way

The most delicious ...healthy...quick food you could imagine. The food is pretty exotic and most of it is organic and grass fed beef. Avocado toast is soo good! The salads outstanding and the entrees and bowls are super good and healthy. There are plenty of private seating areas indoors plus alot of lovely outside seating. Kind of posh at that. The servers are really nice but boy do they go through them quickly including the cashiers. The managers seem t p stay on long.

I'm a long time fan of flower child (love the original Del Mar location and RIP Santa Monica) but this location is my latest fave bc of the tremendously helpful and kind staff. Bless them! They went out of their way to help me when I needed something urgent for my child and they are so friendly always. Their menu is clean and fresh fare that makes you feel energized after eating. The food quality and portions are excellent. Love customizing a plate (protein plus two sides) or ordering one of their set menu items. I usually go for one of their salads or a bowl and no matter what I love getting a side of their white cheddar mac (gluten free and not heavy!). They even gave me a lemon olive oil cake complimentary thru the app for my bday. I love how I can always rely on flower child for a healthy delicious meal that's quick and in a nice fast casual setting with great staff! Great patio at this location and plenty of seating inside too. Lots of easy parking. I hope they bring back the charcoal lemonade and the tie dye wrap one day!

I got the turkey avocado Cobb and subbed out turkey for chicken. So tasty and fresh. Perfect mix of ingredients.

Came here to catch up with a girlfriend over some lunch and so glad we chose this place. I haven't been here in forever and I had forgotten how fresh and tasty their food was. I've tried many different things on the menu over the years... Today I tried the Mediterranean chicken kebab bowl, and it was so yummy! Packed with chicken and perfectly spiced vegetables- on top of rice + quinoa mix. The yogurt sauce was sooo yummy and refreshing. Full of flavor but still nice and light. The service is always friendly... I only wish this restaurant was closer to me.

I've been trying to do more salads and veggies. This place popped up as a restaurant close to my wife's work. I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Shared avocado hummus with my wife and it had good flavor and texture. The addition of corn and pumpkin seeds really added something to the dish. I went with their "mother earth" dish, which had grains, sweet potato, portobello mushrooms, avocado, cucumber, broccoli, pesto, onion, greens, vinaigrette, and hemp seed. The dish was nutritious, but well balanced and delicious. It's not something that I'd ever think of ordering, but it broadened my mind as to what could be delicious and filling. I think that I'd come here again - I was pleasantly surprised regarding how much I enjoyed it here!

Delicious and such a cute spot. Located in a Ye Newport bluffs plaza. There's an open parking lot that can get crowded during peak hours, so allow extra time to find parking. I love the outdoor seating and overall aesthetics of the restaurant. You can choose from having bowls, salads and entrees. I love the entrees! Basically you can pick a protein and pair it with 2 sides of choice for under $20. I also appreciated the calories listed on the menus, for health conscious reasons. The staff was super sweet and had good suggestions. Service was great and food came out pretty quickly. Definitely going to come back and try other dishes.

Flower child is a great lunch spot if you are looking for something healthy and quick. They have a variety of options from bowls to salads and plates. I ordered the steak plate with cauliflower risotto and the kale salad. The kale salad was refreshing with a bright citrus dressing. The cauliflower risotto was creamy and flavorful. The steak was a little overcooked but still delicious.

Awesome little healthy food spot! A couple of my friends recommended we meet up here for dinner. It had been years since my first visit. I don't know why I let so much time go by before going back, but it definitely won't be long before my next meal! This is the only OC location, with one other in California, but a ton in a couple of the dozen states around the US. Service here is amazing, and the food is all high quality and delicious, with menu items that you won't see everywhere. I absolutely loved the strawberry lemonade kombucha! I'm going to have to get that every time now! And the new grilled Peruvian chicken was so flavorful and tender. It's a limited time entree, but I hope they keep it on through the summer. I tried my friends sweet potato fries and I will also have to order those next time too! Best to get the app and sign up for an account. You get 10 points just for doing that, and after just this one visit for our 3 meals, I have enough points for a $5 reward! You also get a free dessert during your birthday month. I got the chocolate chip cashew cookie and it was delectable! I don't even care for cashews, but this cookie was so good! It was basically cashew shavings imbedded throughout. Probably the best chocolate chip nut cookie I've ever had.

I've been in the OC lately and was looking to eat something healthy and clean and I stumbled across Flower Child. The energy inside is very welcoming and relaxing. Perfect place to get some work done on your laptop. The staff is very kind and the food is phenomenal. I went with the turkey cob salad and a mango green tea and it did not disappoint one bit. The salad was made to perfection all the ingredients combined compliment each other very well. I will be sure to stop by next time I'm in the area.

What I ordered: Steak (medium) entrée with yuzu brussels sprouts and smashed gold potato -- ~$18 Flower Child is a casual lunch/dinner restaurant with an extensive menu. You order/pay at the cashier before taking a number and finding a seat. I went on a Sunday afternoon and despite being busy, there was plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. There is a self service station for drinks and utensils. The food was served pretty quickly! Although the steak was cooked medium, it was not tender and difficult to chew. The yuzu brussels sprouts had a good yuzu flavor, but were not roasted enough and slightly too crunchy. The smashed golden potato, which is just mashed potatoes, were my favorite part! It has a rich brown butter and garlic flavor that was so delicious. I would return to get the plate again for the potatoes, but try a different protein and side. Flower child are elegant, delicious, and one of my favorite places. The vibe of this restaurant is welcoming and feels like home. All the pictures and the painting with the open kitchen... is just lovely. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. Service was fantastic, not only great for suggestions but quick in their delivery. This is an order ad front, then sit down with a number kinda place, but they still walk around and check in. From the wrap to the pudding ... everything was so delicious. The freshness of every dish was perfect with the right amount of flavors. You can taste every ingredient and they did not shy away with the protines. Their teas and lemonade were delicious. Flower Child ... we will be back without a doubt. I want to go down the menu now and experience all you have to offer lol... cheers.

Dinner with friends at a casual, healthy spot. I thought my meal would be small for some reason but it was quite substantial and tasty. I had the Mother Earth bowl with salmon. Particularly liked the spicy sauce dolloped over the sweet potatoes and the red pepper vinaigrette was really good too. I enjoyed the greens and grains. Our cashier was also very nice and friendly but ordering at the counter does make you feel rushed for some reason. Overall good experience.

While the first experience had delicious food but lackluster service, this time around everything was fantastic. Second Chances and Stellar Service: This visit was a complete turnaround. The cashier was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the ordering process a breeze. I even got to witness the careful preparation of my meal, which instilled confidence in the quality. Best of all, I was in and out the door quickly, perfect for a takeout experience. Freshness Reigns Supreme: Just like my first visit, the food was the star of the show. It was fresh, flavorful, and healthy - exactly what I was craving. Overall: Flower Child definitely earned a second chance in my book! The friendly service, efficient takeout process, and consistently delicious food make it a great option for a healthy and satisfying meal. Highly Recommend: Trying the takeout option for a quick and convenient experience.

I LOVED this place. They have a strawberry and banana sangria and it was delicious. We ordered the chicken enchiladas and the hummus with pita. Both were fresh and very appetizing. We had the sweetest server who didn't rush us and made us feel so welcomed. The ambiance has a bright, positive and empowering element.

I love this place! Doesn't give it enough credit. There's many locations throughout the west coast/Texas, but this is still one of my favorite places in Orange County. I can't count the number of people I've also gotten obsessed with this place. I feel like a lot of people think that healthy and yummy are mutually exclusive, so they're shocked when they realize that Flower Child is quite healthy and the food is really, really good. Their entire menu sounds really good but I can never deviate from my favorite item- the Mother Earth Bowl, and I often add tofu or chicken. The turkey avocado Cobb salad is also great, and my family loves the forbidden rice bowl and the gluten-free mac and cheese. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything you order.

My adhd loves the Mother Earth bowl. I added steak which was cooked very well, tender but not too undercooked. I've also tried their ceaser salad so I was going out of my comfort zone with the bowl but I was pleasantly surprised. Seasoned and perfect sauces. The vibe is fast casual, but organic, my favorite kind of place.

It had been a while since I had Flower Child and I just shared a large meal that we ordered from DoorDash with my family. it was absolutely delicious! My favorite dish was the mother earth bowl, followed by the avocado hummus, forbidden rice bowl, cauliflower risotto, vegetable salad, and finally the mushroom Bolognese. I believe the mushroom Bolognese is a new dish and I was excited to try it but it wasn't my favorite. Everything else was so delicious though! I will never get over those mushrooms and sweet potatoes in the mother earth bowl! So flavorful and satisfying

My girlfriend and I love coming to this location! We always get awesome service from the manager Lovalynn and the rest of the crew. They are very on top of their game. The food is always hot and fresh, and it's never a long wait. If you are looking for amazing and healthy food, definitely recommend this place!

Overall the quality of the food is the highlight. You can certainly taste that the ingredients are fresh and wholesome. I got a shrimp entrée and would've appreciated a few more shrimp. Service was pleasant. I felt a little rushed at the register, not sure why. I like the ambiance. It's casual and energetic.

This is a very unique spot! I love the decor inside. My favorite so far is the glow bowl! I also enjoyed the wild rice bowl as well. However, sometimes the food seems a bit oily. The service is always spot on. We order online and pick up and sometimes dine in.

Damn it Flower child. You are.. amazingly fresh and delicately savage. Tried the mothers earth bowl with added tofu and choice of three sides. As well as a hot citron green tea-- it was very flagrant. The tea bag was some of the best teas that's come out of wet rag bag stew in a cup. Also tried the avocado hummus with half veggies and half pita-- which was more like a flatbread than pockets. But multigrain and delicious. The hummus was super fresh and is what they say it is. Hummus and avocado. Even with less than an hour to closing, their food quality is amazing. The vegetables are either just cut or flash blanched and swam in the proper ice bath. All cooked to perfection without any salt or butter. What you see is what's gonna crunch. It's not common to fry cucumbers without fish fertilizer after taste but they seem to have found some. The Mother Earth bowl was generous and extremely yummy and you can appreciate the healthiness this provides without resentment. When you have the proper ingredients, you won't need anything to dress it up. Whoever picks their produce knows what to look for. And what not to keep. I can also totally just pig out on all their sides, they look and taste like i want it daily. The Mac and cheese was made with those spiral pasta so it's extra thick saucy but not at all over powering. I'm hungry now just thinking about it. Same with the cauliflower risotto. The string beans were delicious as well but salty by themselves. Otherwise the flavors are all on point. At least when we were there.

What an amazing place from the yummy healthy and balanced food to the service and the ambiance. This place is epic. Everything I tried was on point. The ambiance is charming and clean the staff is friendly and helpful. If you love eating clean and balanced meals but still tasty and delicious this is the best place in Orange County.

This place is amazing. Food is five star. I didn't manage to get a picture because I said let me just try a piece of the mac & cheese and then it was all over. This is probably the best photo to show how amazing this place is. The staff set the vibe. friendly and happy made the meal so much better. The whole setup makes for a comfortable dinning experience. I'm not going to lie I went here once years ago and really did not get the hype. It's not necessarily that anything was bad... but nothing was particularly good either. I feel like there are so many bowl places I would consciously go to over Flower child, but seeing as it was a long time ago I'm definitely open to giving them another shot. I don't remember much interaction with the staff since you order up front, but nothing to complain about when it comes to service or the atmosphere, my biggest critique is just that the food didn't really stand out especially in comparison to all the great things I'd heard before going in.

This place is amazing. We had the avocado caesar salad, sweet potato fries, steak, brussel sprouts, roasted cauliflower , and the lemon oil cake for dessert. Everything was a 10/10. Customer service was amazing as well.

Stopped by on a whim to treat myself to lunch for my birthday and had such a lovely experience here. The staff was so kind, generous, and really went the extra mile, which made my day all the more special! The interior was bright and welcoming as well. I got the glow bowl with chicken, sweet potato fries, rose petal lemonade, and chocolate pudding (not pictured). All the items were so yummy! Definitely recommending this restaurant to my friends + coworkers and returning on my non-birthday days
