We loved the food so much, we came back the next day! I wish we had a place like this near our home. The food is delicious and healthy, with plenty of seating in and outside —great for groups with kids or adults. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the food comes out quickly. The only downside is parking—it took us about 20 minutes to find a spot during peak hours.

Google
The steak was tender and flavorful, paired with sides that were balanced and bright. The cauliflower risotto and roasted broccoli had great texture and seasoning, though both came topped with breadcrumbs — a surprise omission from the DoorDash menu. I’ll definitely order again, just with that gluten note in mind. Solid all around.

Google
Mother Earth Plate with steak was great – so delicious and flavorful! Even my picky kids enjoyed the gluten-free mac and cheese!

Google
This restaurant is pretty large. There's an outdoor patio in the front with a small indoor area with additional seating around the main entrance where you order. Then there's a large room downstairs and a nice large outdoor patio in the back. Everything is decorated really cute. The staff is nice and friendly when they took our orders at the counter and when delivering our food to the table. I'm deducting stars because the portions were pretty small for how much I paid. I ordered the $17+ braised bed pot roast plate. What got dropped off at the table looked like half an order with a small scoop of mushy mashed potatoes. $17 plus a fountain drink was a $23 lunch before I even added the tip. For an average tasting lunch. Maybe I should have ordered the wrap like my friend. It had a full size wrap and came with a small side salad. Parking was also a nightmare. Not enough parking for all the restaurants, businesses, and Whole Foods.

Google
Updated review: I cater a lot for my work, and whenever my team sees colorful catering boxes by Flower Child, they look so happy! This is my go to for healthier wraps, and a good part is that experience shows, everything we order from here is delicious. The Rebel, Carolina Bbq chicken and Flying Avocado are the stars though. Previous Review: Delicious food, lots of healthy meals selection. I first found out about this place from catering at work. It tasted very good, so I decided to come in with my kids and the three of us enjoyed our meal a lot.

Google
The food was great, very healthy options that does not make you feel regretful after you eat. It was difficult first time coming was overwhelming because of all the options. I was tempted to order more than the Italian chopped salad with tofu, but held back because it was definitely filling.

Google
I was excited to find this “healthy” restaurant. Overall, it was ok. The portion was small for the price as you can see from the pictures (portion control?!). The taste was average. We asked for their ingredient list because my family member couldn’t have too much salt for medical reasons. Unfortunately, their dishes are loaded with salt. I guess you need to use more salt to compensate for the healthy food taste?

Google
Excellent strawberry and watermelon salad. They had only paper cups by the drinks dispenser but let us use our tumblers (Thank you, Flower Child!). Lots of space inside and out on the courtyard.

Yelp
This was the first time dining at Flower Child & it was awesome! 10/10 I thought the variety of menus items was outstanding! The prices were definitely reasonable & service with a smile from all! I will be back again soon! Huge indoor & outdoor seating! Very clean & inviting.

Yelp
Located in the Flowerhill plaza is this healthy, beautiful, and spacious restaurant. I hosted a brunch for my MeetUp Fun Diego Ladies this past Sunday. There were 11 of us and we all loved the food here! I ordered the vegetable chopped salad and loved it! I forgot to ask for dressing on the side, but was very pleased that they added just the right amount. The light and citrus vinaigrette was very refreshing. I really appreciate how all of the veggies were very fresh. My only negative feedback was the cucumber skin was a bit bitter. Service was quick and friendly. We each ordered at the counter and food was delivered to our table. I look forward to coming back to try other menu items.

Yelp
DISCOVERED THIS GEM A FEW DAYS AGO, and I've eaten here everyday since then. The Mother Earth bowl is delicious!

Yelp
My go to lunch spot when I'm up in Del Mar! Healthy bowls and plates that actually are bursting with flavor - sign me up! There is a ton of seating here so you can hang out and work all day without feeling like you are taking someone's spot. Great place to meet clients for a work meeting! Everyone that works there is extra sweet too. When you go in, head all the way to the back on the bottom floor and you'll find a cute outdoor patio which is my favorite place to sit. It's technically in the shopping center but doesn't feel that way at all. I got the Mediterranean kebab bowl and it was fantastic. SO MUCH FLAVOR. Definitely a bit smaller of a portion but it was good so I didn't have to worry about taking anything home! You can't go wrong here! My only wish is that they made coffee too. Then it would truly be the perfect spot!!

Yelp
A reliable spot to get fresh healthy eats! Having gone to the AZ locations pretty regularly, this one seemed bigger and brighter inside. And maybe more options even? Salads were fresh and I loooved sampling my friends' dishes (chicken enchilada bowl and chicken kabob skewers). Really appreciative of the service though! Lines got busyyy once it hit noon on a Sunday and when the server came to drop off our items, he was so lovely to take additional last minute drink requests separately. This spot is such an easy place to grab a quick light bite and do some shopping/sightseeing in the area.

Yelp
Everything about my lunch visits here has been very positive. The food is fresh and amazing. I will be back again and again. I wish there was an Oceanside location!

Yelp
Mmmm! Got one of the tastiest and best value meals from here that I have gotten. I got the salmon plate which comes with a choice of two sides. Today I picked the maple glazed squash, and the kale salad. The salmon is a nice sized portion of plain grilled salmon. It was nice and moist even if it did not have a sauce. The Maple glazed squash was extremely delicious. There were two kinds, I think butternut cubed, and then half of a mini acorn squash. And I am already full, but I still have this little side kale salad with shredded zucchini, Parmesan, and breadcrumbs, which I'll save for tomorrow. I'm glad that the maple glazed squash and kale salad are side dish options now and I will happily get this again!

Yelp
super supper Clean, healthy food, clear, kind service, fun open atmosphere, yummy options, yummy drinks
google avatar

Yelp
Chicken enchiladas is excellent. Fresh and yummy. Not sopping with cheese and too much sauce. Highly recommend. I had the Brussels sprouts as a side dish. Very good but a little on the salty side for me. Hubby had the steak plate with kale salad and maple acorn squash. Super good. I was sad to hear that they stopped serving the glow bowl. Hope they bring it back!

Yelp
Great Veggie food choices and also "clean" meat fish options. Yummy teas and lemonade. I love the way they cook the tofu! Nice spacious seating inside and outside. Great for large groups. Everything was great in the cookies! Service is very friendly.
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
Great for groups- Large tables and we had children with our group and they were able to play on the turf outside the downstairs area while we were waiting for our food. I ordered the turkey and avocado salad with steak (I like protein) which was absolutely delicious. The protein made it extra filling. A sliced hard boiled egg would have elevated it perfectly so a note to myself to add that next time if it's an option. Lots of healthy options to choose from. Will definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Really cool aesthetic of the restaurant. They had such amazing, vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Fun fact: Flower Child in in the Flower Promenade in Del Mar. Flower power! - Really enjoy this fast-casual place for healthy but scrumptious eats. It's a nice balance between healthy and unhealthy food well, delectable depending what you might get ( cookie, sangria, max and cheese). The great: the mac and cheese is sooooo gooood and gluten free. It has different cheeses mixed it and the twisty noodles make it fun. So good. The proteins I've tried including steak, chicken, and tofu have been really good. I really like how they periodically release seasonal or new items as well. I've also tried the GLO bowl which had sweet potato noodles and that was DELISH. The could be improved: food tends to be on the colder less warm side. Not sure if it's because food is sitting out for a while vs made to order. Also for being healthy, wish they would cook their Mediterranean bowl and other items in olive oil and not other oils as those are inflammatory. They have an awesome staff and a cute inside and outside seating area.
google avatar

Natasha Y.

Yelp
Flower Child is one of the healthier options out there minus all the cheese they add in almost everything. I love them but a lot of the times they are out of certain sides and sauces. Been here a few times and like to try different things each time I come, the steak is on the tougher chewier side and the Chicken Yakisoba Noodles are very salty. The vegan chocolate pudding is to die for, and the wraps are pretty good, I had the Bird is the Word and sub the cheese for avo which seemed to be no problem other then when I got it I only got a small sliver of avo on top and that's was it. The broccoli is very good even without the cheese and the mashed potatoes are ok but nothing to rave over. They are on the pricer side so be prepared to spend some money. Parking is terrible and your lucky to find one if you can, inside is very nice and plenty of room for families.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Tons of healthy, fresh food options and great if you're vegan/vegetarian (or dining with one) as there are amazing options. Tons of parking outside as well as a parking deck too so no need to worry about Del Mar business getting in the way. This place is a casual-fast restaurant meaning you place your order at the cashier at the front, they'll give you a number for your table, and then bring your food out. Employees are super nice and love to talk about their favorite dishes on the menu. It feels like they love the restaurant's food and seem to enjoy working there-- they're always upbeat and smiling.
google avatar

Cory W.

Yelp
Great lunch spot with awesome outdoor seating. Definitely worth trying out! Prices are decent at $23 including tip for a salad and drink.
google avatar

Peter I.

Yelp
Don't have pictures of my wife's favorite wrap because it goes to quick. But everything we have had here makes you somehow feel better. Might be all the beautiful people that come here and work here? Or that the food is that healthy. I'll go food. Anyway, when wifey is happy the world is a better place. Parking can be tough but it's worth it and the vibe is also cool. Thank you Flower Child!!!
google avatar

Kellie C.

Yelp
Perfect brunch spot in Del Mar! I'd advise to park a little bit further since the lot right in front tends to have cars fighting over parking space. There's also an underground garage as well. The food was amazing and filling. At first glance, portion seems a bit small. But everything was perfect together. The servers were super nice too! There's self seating. The interior is super cute!
google avatar

Serena J.

Yelp
I had an amazing time at this place. There are plenty of healthy food and drink options (loved the kombucha on tap!), and the outdoor patio is just divine. I have to mention it was hard (but not impossible) to find parking on Saturday so be prepared. I am planning to come back for brunch again.
google avatar

Tammy E.

Yelp
This was just what I was craving mid-afternoon after hiking around Torrey Pines. We were debating just grabbing something from Whole Foods next door, but I was so excited after looking through the menu here. Parking was a challenge as tons of folks come through here on the weekends, but seating inside and outside of this restaurant was plentiful. I was overzealous and ordered the soup and the salad, but would have been fine with just one of the two. Everything was made with care and flavors and textures were spot on. I will most definitely come back to this restaurant on future visits!
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
The space is super large and cutely decorated. Food came out quickly and it was well seasoned and hot. This is a order at the front and seat yourself kind of place. Lots of options! I'm excited to try it more things. A little pricey but the meals tasted fresh and quality!
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
We love coming to flower child for lunch. The decor is great and it's always clean. Service is always good and the food is delicious with decent sized portions. Favorite things to get are the glow bowls and their sangrias. The kids meal is a great option as it includes a main entree and two sides.
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
I was in the mood for a healthy meal so we came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. They had a steady stream of customer but it didn't seem too busy. We got the chicken entree with gluten-free mac and cheese and Thai cucumber and cantaloupe and also the Thai Dye wrap. Everything tasted great. The chicken with the Mac and cheese was very good. One of the best tasting gluten free pastas I have had in a while. The Thai cucumber and cantaloupe side was okay. Not sure that I liked the blend of flavors with the mint. My son wasn't too impressed with his lunch. He didn't like the texture of the tortilla wrap. So overall the food was okay. The location of the restaurant was good. It's in the Flower Hill Mall and parking was pretty easy. Service was very good - very friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and then they bring your food. The ambience of the restaurant was very open and bright. There's a lot of seating since they have seating on the main level, the downstairs area, and outdoor area. I know I will be returning here.
google avatar

Jenna V.

Yelp
Always enjoy the food here but it definitely takes quite a while for online to-go orders. If the restaurant opens at 11am, don't expect to get your food before 1130. The rotating iced teas and lemonades are tasty (rose petal lemonade and mango passion tea for me today). The patio area is nice and has umbrellas.
google avatar

Kirsten K.

Yelp
Needed a quick lunch so I ordered on line for curbside pickup. I ordered a la carte shrimp and a side of mac n cheese. Rhe shrimp was a bit overcooked but the flavor was good, but it was about $1/shrimp. The mac n cheese was good and the portion was great. I prefer the entree with 2 sides but it worked for a quick light lunch.
google avatar

Gloria K.

Yelp
Excellent place to eat delicious health gluten free food. Beautiful environment. Staff is always very happy and helpful. Highly recommend to eat in or take out.
google avatar

Trish S.

Yelp
This healthy chain is a popular one and deeply satisfies my need for greens, raw options and healthier choices when I'm in Del Mar. Every time I have gone there it's been for a lunch date with a pal so a popular spot for meet ups and lunch meetings. It's a nice choice for someone you may be meeting for business or getting to know, as they can accommodate almost every food allergy or sensitivity you may/or may not know about your dining partner. I like that there are a lot of seating options: Upstairs, downstairs and the lovely patio down and out back. Favorite menu items include: "FORBIDDEN" RICE: black pearl, red japonica, snap pea, bok choy, broccoli, carrot, onion, toasted sesame, red chili hoisin. (Insider tip: put an egg on it, trust me) CRUSHED AVOCADO TOAST: soft egg, black sesame, white cheddar. GINGER MISO CRUNCH SALAD: carrot zoodles, zucchini, red pepper, asian cabbage, mint, cashew, sesame seeds. I also really love the simple roasted broccoli with lemon, garlic, parmesan and bread crumbs. Flower Hill parking can be rough - and folks drive pretty nutty around the Whole foods. Skip the drama of fighting over a space or holding up traffics and head to the parking garage behind the grocery store and walk through the promenade to the restaurant.

Brandon S.

Yelp
We LOVE this place. Food is amazing and healthy, service is great! We drive 40 minutes just to eat here
google avatar

Adam D.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now and it's usually my go-to pit stop between San Diego and LA. It's a chain, but it doesn't feel like one. Everything is always healthy and fresh. This place is a dream for the vegan, gluten free crowd, which is normally not my bag, but Flower Child pulls it off well. I usually get the kale salad with steak, but you can't go wrong with anything from the rather sizable menu. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Cary R.

Yelp
This food is delicious..we had the veggie plate and the Brazilian Chicken plate ..loved everything about it . The staff was super friendly and the establishment was very clean . Comfortable outside seating ..this is a new go to spot for us .
google avatar

Iryna K.

Yelp
I'll come back to this place! They have really healthy and tasty food. I felt comfortable eating my lunch at Flower Child. I ordered Mother Earth with Shrimps and Peppermint tea. Thank you!
google avatar

Beth G.

Yelp
Had a delicious meal here. Staff recommended it, and it did not disappoint! Lots of indoor seating or cute outside seating which is dog friendly. Try the keto butternut squash lasagna- absolutely delicious!
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Even though I live in the area, I had never been to Flower Child until a co-worker suggested it for lunch. It was great! Here is what I noticed: - Great food selections...I got the Mother Earth Bowl, with Tofu added. It was really tasty! - Order at the counter and then go find a table. There is an incredible amount of seating, both inside and outside, and both in the front of the restaurant and downstairs toward the back. Bottom line: I'm going to be going back very soon!
google avatar

Christine R.

Yelp
Was looking for a quick bite heading through Del Mar and found Flower Girl. I excited to see the large number of gluten free options. I enjoyed the Rebel Wrap, which was delicious. My lunch date enjoyed the Flying Avacado Wrap, which was yummy as well. Both came with a spring mix, that had little to no dressing. We chose sides of sweet potato fries and gluten free Mac and cheese, both were small but delicious. The portions aren't tremendously large, but they are fresh, and delicious. I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Lizzy E.

Yelp
Love this fast-casual restaurant chain. Delicious food in a pleasant ambiance. Don't forget to try their chocolate chip cookie - so good!
google avatar

Chris Y.

Yelp
We have stopped in every year for the last four years we have come to the area for soccer tournament. Unfortunately this will be our last visit since my kids have graduated out from club soccer. If we are ever back we will always stop in. As always staff was extremely friendly, quick to get food ordered. Both dishes came out quick, hot and fresh. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Stefany M.

Yelp
We just love this restaurant! The ambiance inside is really welcoming and playful. Everything we've ordered has been delicious, the chicken enchiladas and the brussel sprout salad are definitely a fave, the salmon is great, my kids can't get enough of their grilled chicken, and really liked the sweet potato fries. The only thing my kids consistently don't like is the Mac and cheese but I will eat it for them. I loved the variety of drinks they have, especially kombucha and tea. We will keep coming back here!

Romeo D.

Yelp
Typically a regular but incredibly disappointing experience today. Despite requesting to substitute the grain for sweet corn quinoa (as I have done multiple time) the server completely disregarded my request, faked checking with others to see if the substitution was possible and ended up overcharging me for the unnecessary side. He then proceeded to ring me up and say "Feel free to tip". The lack of competence and rude attitude ruined what could have been a decent meal. Not worth the inflated prices and definitely not returning.
google avatar

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Really delicious healthy food! Be ready to spend some money on this, but overall very delicious and healthy dish. The place itself is large and has a nice casual ambience. The employees are very friendly and welcoming. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here, and I would definitely go here again.

Amber J.

Yelp
We like this spot as it's kid friendly. The kids menu has good options other than just the standard pizza and chicken tenders!! Kids can choose a protein and 2 sides- with lots of good options. A nice little play area by the outside seating. The prices are a little high in my opinion - this chopped salad with chicken was $16.70. But it was good and my kids ate their food, so no complaints!

Betty W.

Yelp
Love this wonderful combination of tender juicy turkey, creamy velvety texture of avocado and fresh greens with almonds. A top choice for those seeking for wholesome meal which excels in not only taste but also the nutritional value!!
google avatar

Crissy W.

Yelp
Wonderful fresh food with a great ambience. I loved their steak Caesar salad and the lemonade with unlimited refills. They also had a very cute area in the back to sit and enjoy yourself. I'll be back.
google avatar

Sophia O.

Yelp
The atmosphere is really cool, the food is great and you have GOT to try the seasonal lemonades! The service is good and they are nice. Glad the consistency everytime we go is good, and each time food comes out pretty fast. Good business. Nothing stands out as wow though. That is the reason for the star off.
google avatar

Stan M.

Yelp
Another great recommendation from our son & wife. We had brunch today. This is located in a fun little shopping center with other restaurants & shops. There was plenty of seating inside (upper and lower sections) and some outside seating. Nice little touch, while reading the outside menu, they have a station of Lemon Water and disposable cups. I order an entree with Salmon, Sweet Potatoes & Roasted Broccoli. Perfect size for 1 person, the salmon needed a bit more seasoning but was cooked perfectly. The sides, just wow.....Sweet potatoes where soft and sway very well. The broccoli roasted and dusted with parmesan cheese. Never had roasted broccoli, man was it tasty. Rose Pedal Lemonade mix 50/50 with Decaf Açaí tea was refreshing. For dessert we had a lemon muffin topped with olive oil. So much flavor and moist. Another place we will visit when in town again.
google avatar

Nairobi W.

Yelp
Food was okay. The real problem I had was the service. The red haired girl working 1/7/24 around 3pm gave every other customer their food with utensils and napkins and a smile. When she brought my food, she pointed to the rack and said "utensils are over there" with a rude smirk. That was so rude and uncalled for. Racial prejudice at its finest.
google avatar

Hanna S.

Yelp
4+ Excellent vegan options & offering plenty of open space both indoor and outdoor. The indoor area's doors are open, thus allowing for good airflow making it a safe option. It took a while for our order to come but service was very friendly. You got an order at the counter they give you a number and then they bring you the food. Self-service water and utensils Clean bathroom. Cute murals. Vegan chocolate pudding. Many vegan and gluten free options.
google avatar

Allison D.

Yelp
Super cute spot with an abundance of options for the vegan. I had the Thai Dye wrap but TBH was not a huge fan of the flatbread. The innards were yummy though. Service was a bit slow but they were busy, so I'm not gonna knock that. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
While I am on Del Mar this has been my go to spot when my tummy starts grumbling. Located right off the freeway in the FlowerHill shopping center sits this gorgeous restaurant. If your traveling you may recognize them as they have many locations throughout many different states. Known for using locally sourced ingredients while making their food in-house makes this a great place. With an abundance of parking, multiple patios and dinning areas you can keep your covid distance while eating healthy. If your not on a strict healthy kick they do make alcoholic sangria bottled to take home or to enjoy with your meal. The staff is always friendly, helpful and somehow navigate finding your table no matter where you are dining in this huge restaurant. Karina always has great advice on the menu and none of her favorites ever let me down. This time around I tried the avocado humus with their sweet corn, radish, clementine & pumpkin seed flat bread. This was appetizer to start with. For my entre I had the Bird is the word wrap made with local healthy ingredients grilled chicken, poblano peppers, broccoli, peppadew, melted pepper jack cheese, charred onion. Filled with perfectly cooked veggies and held together with their house made flat bread. This was a little messy to eat but with the side greens I was able to make a mini salad that was just as delicious. I washed each bite down with their seasonal sangria. Unsure on what flavor to get Karina let me try them both before settling on peach passion fruit. If your on the go they also bottle up their sangria to enjoy at home by the pool or at your leisure. After a delightful meal I grabbed a few chocolate chip cashew cookies. Thanks for all your help and delicious suggestions Karina! Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free or just healthy food is on your mind you must stop and give them a try.
