King County Temporarily Closes Flowers Bar & Restaurant, Citing COVID Violations - Eater Seattle

"Flowers Bar & Restaurant, a long-running establishment at 4247 University Way NE, is closed temporarily after a Seattle & King County Public Health food inspection on May 3 found violations of COVID-19 Safety Regulations. Per the public health website, the closure stems from “repeated occurrences of failure to observe directives of the Governor and WA Secretary of State” involving the use of face masks and social distancing. The history of non-compliance for Flowers dates back to August 2020, according to the report, with incidents involving restaurant crowding, table spacing, and “limited masking.” The May 1 report has a note stating that owner Fadi Hamade said “multiple times [he did] ‘not care about people, not care government orders, and COVID-19 Safety Regulations.’” Hamade told the Seattle Times that those allegations were “a complete fabrication” and that his employees double-masked. Meanwhile, the health department sent the Seattle Times a photo that showed a packed house at Flowers. No evidence of COVID-19 outbreaks have been traced back to the bar, the health department told the Times. In order to reopen, Flowers will need to have a written COVID Prevention and Safety Plan approved." - Adele Chapin

The Best Restaurants & Bars In The University District - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This place used to be a flower shop, but is now a cool place to drink on The Ave. The ceiling is all mirrors so you can see yourself how the birds see you, and you want the $5 margaritas, mojitos, and mint juleps. They taste great despite sounding like watery Happy Hour specials for finals week." - Aimee Rizzo

Flowers Review - University District - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This place used to be a flower shop, but is now a pretty cool college bar. The ceiling is all mirrors, the tables have paintings on them, and drink-wise, you want the $5 margaritas and mojitos that actually taste good." - Aimee Rizzo

For the price you can’t beat it and even after so many years it hasn’t changed. The bartender is very nice and always made us fresh drinks. The only complaint is they don’t have AC and in the summer it is very hot - with this the drinks could use a bit more ice.

The drink was strong, to I didnt feel cheated by price. It was pretty tasty too. The sandwich was pretty good and not the only vegetarian option. The fries werent great. The place is kind of dark but I love the lights, wood, decorations and the ceiling is a big mirror. Pretty cool looking place. Staff was nice too.

Friendly owner, great ambiance, music.. and of course food and drinks. For now check on dine-in capacity and restrictions but please support our local restaurants! Flowers Bar and Restaurant has been here for 30 years!! Drop by for a bite or take-out!

While we didn't expect much from a casual place we were sadly disappointed with the food and drinks we received. Perhaps it is the right spot for others but we mostly just stuck with the bread and paid our check respectfully. Not for me.

Funky bar and restaurant with a good selection of cocktails. The decor is worth it on it's own.

Before going out to do lights at The Neptune we would stop off here and get some food and drink before a big night. Can't get enough of that mirrored ceiling it's just such a great look!

Our waitress was great, but then some other lady came by our table and told us to be mindful of how much time we were taking up? We kept ordering drinks so I’m not sure what the problem was. It was only my husband and I and we were only there 30 minutes. Nice bar, but didn’t feel very welcome.

Crowded yet considerate, great table service, yet I cant wait for the curry muscle dish to reappear.
