I wanted to meet up with some old friends while I was in Fort Worth. It was the holidays, and many of the downtown/Sundance bars were closed, but the Flying Saucer came in clutch. I’ve been to this location many times, and also the one in Houston. For those who aren’t familiar with it, they offer a variety of beers from local brews to beers you’d normally have to travel internationally to find. They also serve a variety of food and other beverages (non beer)
It was a lovely evening (temperature-wise) when we stopped by, and we so rarely get those, and we opted to sit outside. I’ve been inside and there plenty of seating, a couple different areas/rooms, everything is clean, and it feels like a fun, lively, yet cozy pub experience. Outdoors was similar. We sat at a table and played a couple games we brought from home. It was great people watching
Our server was very attentive and friendly. We got our drinks in no time, and they were there to continuously check in on us (without hovering). We ordered beers, cocktails, and a little snack (sweet potato fries), and everything was delightful
Some tips:
Parking can be tricky downtown, but there are plenty of parking garages. I would also consider a ride share just to be safe and to maybe continue the night bar hopping (assuming other bars are open lol). Sundance is right around the corner, and it’s definitely worth a stroll if the weather cooperates
Also, as I mentioned above, they serve non-beer drinks. So, don’t feel obligated to order a beer if that’s not your thing. They’ve also offered a “beer-tour” in the past. Ask your server about that
Cheers!!
