I arrived at the downtown Flying Saucer on a chilly Sunday night looking for a nice, strong ale to warm me up. Since it was so late, nearby parking wasn't too hard plus, it was free! There's construction along Main Street near the Saucer but, it wasn't much of a obstacle.
I went inside and immediately sat myself at the bar and had my order taken by the bartender. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with a side salad and a beer. The wrap came out after a short wait and, I have to say, it was par for the course for bar food. The food had good presentation, looking very appetizing and with good portion sizes. The salad was tasty with fresh crisp lettuce, red onion slices, and mozzarella cheese shavings.
The accoutrements of the bar are very much British style pub. Saucers adorn nearly every space of the interior, giving you much to look at as you enjoy your meal. There's ample seating inside the pub, with seats available at either the bar, booths, or tables. The atmosphere here is very sports bar-y and isn't exactly the best joint for a family outing.
All-in-all, I'd highly recommend the Flying Saucer to anyone who's looking to have a quick pint from their huge craft beer selection or bite to eat before traversing Downtown.
