D.C. Now Has Two Fogo de Chãos Within Walking Distance of Each Other | Eater DC

"Opened Monday, November 11 at 698 Maine Avenue SW, the Wharf outpost is sizably smaller than the city's first location but adds a patio surrounded with fire pits. An open churrasco grill gives guests a 360-degree vantage point of gaucho chefs carving and roasting dry-aged proteins before they parade around the room. The Wharf's endless meat-on-a-stick experience with a salad bar is priced at $67.50 (a few bucks less than the D.C. original on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, where VP-elect J.D. Vance is a known customer). Happy hour is an all-day affair with $10 Caipirinhas, $8 South American wines, and $5 beers. The chain was founded in Southern Brazil in 1979 and currently has over 70 locations across Brazil, the U.S., Mexico, and the Middle East. The Wharf location is open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch out of the gate and donates 10 percent of opening-week sales to charity No Kid Hungry." - Emily Venezky

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. We did not call ahead or make a reservation and only had to wait about 5-10 minutes - which they were very honest about. All of the staff assisted us and were kind. Our waitress Jackie was amazing and very informative as well as patient. She really made our night. The food was spectacular as well. You certainly get what you pay for here :)

Absolutely incredible experience at Fogo de Chao by the Wharf in DC! We chose it as our dinner spot during our weekend-long anniversary celebration, and it did not disappoint. The energy in the restaurant on a Saturday night was electric, bustling yet refined, with just the right balance of liveliness and intimacy for our dinner date. Whether you're showing up with a party of two or ten, it's a fantastic venue for both small and large groups. We went with the full churrasco experience, and let me tell you, it was a parade of flavor. Every cut of meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked, from the tender lamb to the juicy chicken and rich pork selections. The sides and market table options offered something for everyone, catering to a range of taste buds and dietary needs. Add in a few refreshing mocktails and bold cocktails, and the evening was complete. What really made the night special, though, was the exceptional service. Dalia, Alfredo, and Jairo were outstanding; warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. They made us feel celebrated, not just served, and turned a great dinner into a memorable experience. For about $180, we walked away full, happy, and already talking about our next visit. Highly recommend. #FogoDeChao #TheWharfDC #DCDateNight #AnniversaryWeekend #ChurrascoExperience #AnKSeeTheWorld #FoodieFavorites #DCRestaurants

Google
Great atmosphere, food, and customer service. Compared to Texas de Brazil, the Market Table & Feijoada Bar was far better with more variety of savory options. As far as the meat, I personally thought Texas de Brazil offered slightly more savory meat options and more frequent rounding. Dalia (the server) was very sweet, attentive and prompt. Also, Jairo (customer service representative) rounded on our table multiple times through the visit asking if we need anything and making good recommendation. making sure our visit more enjoyable.

Food and service was fantastic! Aubrey greeted us with a smile and checked in on us in between plates and was just a very warm personality. The food was way better than the 'others' like it and the restaurant was clean and tidy. Will come again.

Google
I had a wonderful experience at Fogo de Chão at The Wharf. The food was excellent, but what truly made the visit special was the outstanding service. Eva and Daila were especially kind and attentive, and honestly, the whole team was warm and professional. It’s rare to feel this genuinely welcomed — thank you all for making it memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Eight of us came for an early dinner and my friend’s birthday. We had an absolutely amazing time, and the team here took great care of us. The meat was ridiculously tender, and the desserts may have been my favorite part of the meal because the molten chocolate cake was CRAZY. Thanks to Dalia and Jairo for taking care of us, because the attentiveness and consideration really made the experience. Amazing customer service.

Let me be the first to say that Churrascarias are not my thing. I’m not an all you can eat at the beef bar sort of person. With that said—I remain that way, but Fogo at the Wharf was a nice dining experience. 3 in our party went with the all you can eat and I ordered off the menu. I will note that our 4 year old ate for free, which was nice. Pro tip if ordering off the menu at Fogo—it takes about 30+ minutes to get your order. In case you’re hungry, just go with the all you can eat. Other than that, the service really was great. Everyone there was so nice, helpful and accommodating. It’s very noisy, which I say in a good way because our 4 year old did not bother anyone—but it was harder to hear from across the table. Overall good family dinner night especially if you have some growing boys.

I eat out quite often, high end to low end and everything in between and this by far has been my WORSE experience at a restaurant. If I could give it a zero I would. My party of 4 went to this location on 6/25/25 @ 7pm. From the time we sat down, it was clear the waitress and staff was incompetent. My husband had to clean the food of our seats as the hostess watched. We literally just sat down and the waitress asked us what we wanted to eat, not giving us a chance to review the menu at all. Wish we would have ordered because it was 10 mins before she returned. We ask if they have a smoky old fashion and hoppy beer. She says she needs to ask the bartender. It takes her 20 mins to return and she forgot to ask about the hoppy beer. She needs to ask the manager now but, she never returns. I had to ask the manager about my cauliflower steak because our waitress was nowhere to be found. We sat there for a hour and the chicken and cheese server passed by us once. It took a hr and 20 mins before we knew there was lamb, roast beef and pork stomach being served and that only happened because I complained to the manager about the service. Manager told me it was MY job to track down a waitress or server to ask for what we want. I cant ask for what Im not aware of. How do I know what each server is putting out. I cant ask our nonexistent waitress. After being there for 1 hr and 30 mins, we get a room temp plate of mashed potatoes, 2 fried banana pieces and 4 fried polenta sticks...our meal was over. There is so much to complain about but no need for this to be a novel. The point of my review is that this restaurant fell short and management seemed unconcerned. I cant in good conscious recommend this establishment when I spent $300 to get lackluster service and food

Yelp
Best service ever! Food was delicious. Beautiful restaurant. The team did an amazing job. I can say the tres leches cake was one of the best that i tried in DC.

Yelp
I brought my fiance here for her birthday. It was a great experience. It's not as big as the Penn Ave restaurant but it's still nice and a great place to be. The servers were very attentive and they made sure we were good. We spent 228 plus 45 in gratuity. So all together it was a great experience for dinner.

Yelp
Great night celebrating my best friends birthday. Dinner was the best Fogo experience I've had! Grateful for friendly, consistent, and attentive service by Yassyie, who I'll look for on my next experience. She also helped some of the others on the floor which to me was indicative of the capacity to lead as a supervisor or manager. She and a few of the other servers made our night very enjoyable. The one small issue I had was the lava cake which I wish was a bit softer and more moist, and it perhaps could've came with either more strawberries and/or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was still tasty and rich which I appreciated.

Yelp
The food didn't disappoint--the meats were flavorful and plentiful, and the salad bar was fresh and diverse. We all left completely full and satisfied, which is exactly what you want from a place like this. One thing I didn't love was that we were assigned a server who was still in training, and unfortunately, she had multiple tables on top of our large party. While I understand everyone has to start somewhere, a celebration like this would have been smoother with a more experienced server. That said, she did a decent job, and other staff stepped in when needed. What really stood out to me was seeing the managers working side by side with the team--that says a lot about their leadership and commitment. Despite the hiccups, the atmosphere, food, and teamwork made it a great night. Overall, Fogo de Chão is always a solid option for large parties and celebrations

Yelp
Currently sitting at the restaurant as I wait for the skewers to be passed... haven't started a timer but it has been at least 20ish minutes since the last time they brought something. Not worth it... go somewhere else...

Yelp
Terrible bar service!! I visited yesterday for happy hour. I really wanted to check out this new location as I love the Wharf and don't come to this area often! Well don't think it's new new now, but it's been under a year. They absolutely need to work on their service! I sat at the bar and was ignored for awhile. I mean at least 20 minutes and it wasn't that busy. The bartender (didn't get her name) eventually came over to bring a menu. I put in for a red blend. Just wine. No cocktail! Should be quick and easy right?! I saw her taking other orders and attending to other patrons. I saw her pour a white wine and had it sitting at the bar. Before she poured it she reached up to get the glass out by putting her pen in to scout it out. I get that it's high and she's short but wow! Then she looks over at me and came over with the white wine that was sitting there that I did not order. She apologized and said it's on her. I let her know that I actually didn't order that. I reminded her of my real order and asked to put in for some sliders. I got my wine but 30 minutes go by and still no food. Did she even put it in? In fact she disappeared for awhile and never said anything. I got the attention of another bartender, Gabriel, to let him know that I wanted to cancel the order of sliders. He was apologetic but I was over this place at this point! I'm sticking to the Pennsylvania Avenue location. Never been treated like that there or any Fogo! Please do better!!!

Yelp
If you're coming to Fogo de Chão, come hungry -- and maybe skip breakfast. The nonstop parade of meats was impressive: perfectly grilled sirloin, lamb, and chicken. Every cut was juicy, flavorful, and expertly cooked by the gauchos. But honestly? The bacon at the market table stole the show. Sweet, rich, and perfectly crispy -- it gave off total million-dollar bacon vibes. I went back for seconds (and thirds) just for that alone. Service was authentic and attentive, and even with a packed house, the team made sure we were well taken care of. The ambiance is really great also!

Yelp
Since opening I have only experienced their takeout service. Overall, their takeout operation is good. I've visited midday, during lunch, to very light customer traffic. Granted, I believe Fogo de Chão will always be a dinner restaurant than a lunch, but for a seated restaurant on the SW waterfront, near hotels, and tourists, I found it a bit strange. The inside is very modern contemporary in construction and decor. The bar is also beautiful. The customer service was very friendly. I'll visit again to experience the dinner service.

Yelp
We had a great experience at this Fogo de Chão! Jairo, Dalia, & Luis were super friendly and attentive to us. They always greeted us with a smile and made sure we were taken care of with food, drinks, and clearing our table. This location is beautiful with a great big open dining room. Attire ranged from classy and celebratory (we saw recent grads & prom goers all here) to very casual (some diners were even in athleisure). The vibe is lively and loud, very welcoming all around. The market tables/salad bar items were delicious as were many of the meats that came out. I don't generally eat churrasco and found that many of the meats were over cooked for my taste, even after asking for medium rare. The meats that were medium rare were great! So I think it depends on when you catch them coming by your table. All in all, we had a great experience here and recommend checking out this Fogo. :)

Yelp
At this location, our group stayed in the bar area to take advantage of the all day happy hour specials. They had a good variety on the happy hour menu and the drinks and snacks I had were great. The staff was nice, but the wait times to receive some of the food that was ordered were pretty long, nearly an hour for a couple of the items. A manager took those items off of the affected parties' bills to rectify. The all day happy hour is a good draw, especially for the wharf, and the drinks were quite the highlight, I just wouldn't come here if I was on a tight schedule.

Yelp
I thought the Wharf location would be a great choice for dining, instead of fighting through traffic to return to the downtown DC location. Scenery at the wharf was great, but this restaurant did not come through for my part of 6. I will look at this as a $500 charitable contribution. The drinks were mediocre. The meats were salty, overcooked, or distasteful overall. I appreciated the salad, and the dinner rolls were delicious. Service was surprisingly slow, despite the restaurant not being crowded. I do not see a return visit to this location.

Yelp
My bestie and I came to DC to celebrate my 60th birthday. We had high hopes for our dining experience here but we were in for a let down. After being seated in the 'barish' section I made the mistake of mentioning to our waiter that we would only be dining off the $6 bites menu. I offered to have us move to the bar since we wouldn't be dining off the higher priced menu. He stated he would serve us none the less and we were fine there. That was the last time we spoke to him. He abandoned us there only to be within our eyesights to speak with the hostess. After waiting over 10 minutes (with both of us catching the eye of the hostess AND waiter) we left. My money spends just as well as the diner having the Churrasco Cut experience. PS, our reservations were at 4:30pm so you can imagine how empty a restaurant of that 'caliber' was. Apparently still empty enough for my bestie and I to be ignored. PPS, I spent almost $300 at Hell's Kitchen the next night. Thanks for saving me some money.

Yelp
The service is top tier. It's almost like a community server experience because everyone checks in with you even if they're not your server. The meat was delicious and you can easily get full if you don't pace yourself. I do wish that every meat option came to the table or if there was a practice in place where you can remember what you received. We chose the $68.99 experience where you get 11 unlimited options of meat but I think only 8 selections came to our table. I'm curious to know the other 3. Love the set up of the restaurant and how spacious it is. The cheese cake brûlée was the best cheese cake I've ever tasted. I give my entire experience a 9.2.

Yelp
Meat! Meat!....And, delicious buffet eats!! It's always great to come to Fogo de Chão and a great place to look forward to. During this visit, I had a chance to dine at one of their newer locations.... at the Washington DC - Wharf during New Year's Eve. The place was packed to capacity and bustling with diners. The food and service was excellent. Even with the crowds,, the grilled slabs of meat kept coming, and our server excelled at meeting our table of a large parties expectations in every way....from the delicious sides to the satisfying drinks. He was prompt with our drink orders, and very helpful with making recommendations our food options. The atmosphere and ambience of this newer location within Washington DC couldn't have been more fitting for the night. As a table of 10 hungry NYE partygoers, we came starving and the experience was top notch. The meats were very flavorful, piping hot, and seasoned to the bone! Two of my favorite standouts was the Grilled Lamb & Bacon-Wrapped Parmesan Chicken for sure. I definitely recommend this location for the service and food offerings; including the buffet options. There is a Mingi option to choose from, but why bother when you have such a smorgasbord of delicious eats right there in front of you taken between the steady round of meat carvings and the all you can eat buffet The vegetables and salads were so fresh and appetizing. Shout out and honorable mention goes.... to a little standalone pot of stewed black beans and rice that was sitting on a separate table from the buffet.... that was the best I have ever had! I must've had at least three servings of this stuff on top of all of the various meats that was served at nauseam. Lol. All I can say is this place tends to bring out my inner carnivore for sure! Given the food options, service and experience..... the price and cost is totally worth it.. I never leave room for dessert, but they are delicious. I will be back for more "meat-ings" for sure. Love this place and this location get s a double thumbs up!

Yelp
Unfortunately, they had me waiting nearly an hour for bar food (literally only fries & sliders). Typically, I am understanding when it's packed and busy. But it wasn't even remotely busy. I was one of three people at the bar. I decided to leave because I was on a time constraint. Will definitely not visit again during Happy Hour, especially if I have somewhere to be. No thanks to them, I was running late and starving. So I cant even give a proper food review.

Yelp
Fogo de Chão has brought their love of Brazilian churrasco to the Wharf, DC, opening their newest restaurant at the waterfront. I was so excited to be one of the first to check them out and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The restaurant is beautiful, absolutely stunning. Dinner options were all the prime cuts of meat (lamb, ribeye, filet mignon) and of course the chicken and salmon. We enjoyed the well stocked salad bar and tableside service of signature meats. The salad bar had fresh friits, vegetables and a brown sugar bacon that was to die for! I also enjoyed the rice and black beans as well. I topped mine off with the hot pepper sauce that was on the salad bar as well. To end the night, we had chocolate molten cake and tres leches. Parking at the Wharf street side and metered is always a risk. I would suggest you valet OR use the garage parking. Fogo de Chão Wharf, DC

Yelp
So today was opening day at the wharf! We can't miss that! This place is so cute! The aesthetics are just modern and chic. The floor plan is open and it's just so new and clean. I love the extended bars that give you the feel of a high top table. Now we know fogo has an all day happy hour so this is amazing! Went with my girls for happy hour and we had a time. The food is lovely- they enjoyed the lamb sliders. We all enjoyed the chicken sliders and empanadas. Go crazy with the drinks and it's just a great vibe to add to the area! Service is quick and they were nice- happy hour is a win! Thankful for the hospitality we received as we were checked up on throughout! Smooth first day if I have to say to myself! You know how wharf parking can be but the garage helps! Can't wait to come back for the full dining experience! We were raving!

Yelp
An enjoyable Sunday afternoon on the patio!! Nice tunes, fresh air and people watching all a delight. The all day happy hour includes plentiful food and drink options available at the bar or patio. Alex, our server, was attentive and kind. We enjoyed the picanha burger with polenta fries and seafood lettuce wraps, along with a draft beer and house wine. The CHOCOLATE BRIGADEIRO was a special treat at the end! Looking forward to making this a favorite local spot on the Wharf.

Yelp
I live in the area and have been wanting to come here since it opened months ago. I came here with some coworkers and it really hit the spot. I ate very light throughout the day in preparation of dinner , and ate TONS of meat. All the meats were very flavorful and nice and tender. The salad bar also has nice options. Everything was perfect seasoned, and I also loved the sides (mashed potatoes, cheesy bread, plantains, yucca fries). I'm tempted to come here all the time, but it is pricey. But if you've never tried a Brazilian steakhouse, I would highly recommend trying this spot! The servers were very friendly and the restaurant overall is very nice and great for date night or a family of meat lovers.

Yelp
Being a chain or high end Brazilian steakhouses, we decide to try it out. we learned that this was only the first month that this location had been open. Inside was quite large and expansive with several tables. Couple of tidbits that annoyed me, on the tables were EXTREMELY close together. The second was that there was a small step as you enter, the lighting was not great inside, this combined with the step could cause a safety issue. Food was standard, as long as you were green, the meat kept coming. Decent sized cold bar with several salad options. Service was okay. I ran out of water and waited quite a while for refills. Plates took a while to be cleared. It was not busy when we arrived, but filled up quickly. Complementary desert for birthdays!

Yelp
Firstly, the positive. It was a casual Saturday afternoon and I wanted to get food with my brother. We decided in Fogo as we both had never been. I was honestly surprised a lot of the side dishes were buffet style. Regardless, they had many different warm and cold items to choose from. I had made a salad, got some bread with tomato bisque, and rice with black beans. Everything was tasty and the fruit was fresh. The black beans have pork in them and they were savory! Try them out. The meat comes pretty frequently and the people serving the meat are attentive and very friendly. They explained each meat and always offered help every time they swung by. The beef was seasoned well and was the best meat in my opinion. It became hard after a while to tell which meat was which, the meat service was fast. Shoutout to the waiter who checked us out and the customer service manager Aubrey or Audrey. They were really attentive to our needs and made me feel like I was in someone's house. Even the shorter woman manning the front desk was super helpful and had a great attitude. The dessert was good, a little sweet but its dessert lol. Now the cons. Unfortunately, the waiter we had did not meet my expectation (see photo). He was a younger gentleman who gave us a great greeting and set us up for a great time. However, once we placed our drink order the man was missing in action! A different waiter brought us our drinks after we had explained there were no drinks in 20 minutes (a beer and a marg is not a crazy order I feel). The original waiter also said sides would be provided which the lady customer service manager brought out for us and refilled. After 35 minutes I finally see our guy and he has an AirPod in his ear (see photo)! For a luxury restaurant experience I would expect everyone to be on their best game but an Airpod was unacceptable. I don't mean to get him in trouble, but we were neglected and his peers made up for it with their excellent service. On top of that, the gentleman next to our waiter in the photo took over. Not once did our original waiter explain he was handing off us to another waiter, so we were confused on who to request service from. The only other thing I had a problem with was the card system. They explained it to us well. Green means more meat, red means no meat. One time we had it on red and wanted to try meat that was passing and the waiter reminded us to flip the card. No problem. But when we had the card on red, they kept coming! I love the attentiveness of the meat waiters but you just said red means no! Let me eat in peace for a little. But again no harm on them just abide by your own stop and go rules with meat. Lastly, the chicken was coming out of the roaster too soon. The bacon wrapped chicken didn't even have fully cooked bacon on it, and the chicken breast was undercooked and had no seasoning. The crab cake was tasty but I think I'd want it cooked a little longer just so it wasn't as soft. Everything else was great. I will consider coming back as I did enjoy myself, I just hope we get a waiter that cares as much as the customer service manager and all the other waiters and staff who helped us with a smile.

Yelp
Review for Outdoor All-Day Happy Hour Menu: We got the empanadas ($6 - good, but a little bland), chicken sliders ($6 - okay), and beef sliders (~$13 - tasty, my favorite of the meal). For drinks, we had the caipirinha and the passion fruit caipirinha ($10 each, but just $1 on Tuesdays! Both were a little sweet, but I'd definitely get them again.) The outdoor ambiance is very nice. Service was a bit jumbled since you order at the indoor bar, and they bring the food out--there was some confusion figuring out whose order was whose. For the value, definitely worth it.

Yelp
I will wait until they get their kinks ironed out. And will practice my "food boundaries.. "saying no". Read below for the Good-Bad & Ugly. START-STOP-CONTINUE... or is this the Yes Man movie experience? Every Gaucho with meat... just say yes man! And then you find yourself unzipping or unbuttoning your bottoms... meat-coma? King Arthur at best? Hopefully no gout! This protein filled evening is an experience! The roasting of meats over an open fire, sells the premise of attentive staff walking around with giant portions of meat ready to serve you. The salad bar has a delightful assortment of sides, and some soup. Here is a suggestion.. Say No, and make sure they see your red sign (which indicates you are on pause), our staff looked at the red sign, and still asked, I could not say no.. which meant some meat was cold and not able to be savored or devoured. Pace yourself! This is all about the experience. THE GOOD: Spacious dining area, happy hour all day with $10 South American Cocktail, $8 SA wine, and $5 beer (yes all day), bathrooms were nicely decorated, staff were friendly and just trying so hard to figure it all out, nice clean uniforms, sweet little cheese bread for the table, tasty parmesan polenta fries, mashed sweet plantains, and creamy mashed potatoes were brought out for the table. (Although got cold too quickly), 14 different types of Churrasco cuts of meat. Churasco expense includes the market table and Feijoada Bar (salads, sides, and charcuterie with cheeses and olives), excellent presentation by staff THE BAD: The bar area is awkwardly designed with a different menu selection - no churrasco there. The signature cuts of meat are coming out at a rapid fire pace and the meat is bland, unless you are the fortunate one to get the tasty lemon zest or seasoning before getting the the center cut of meat, The pork cuts were overcooked and dry (double bone in pork chop, and parmesan pork cube, chicken drumstick and thigh was a bit cold.. note to self.. order as you are ready to eat... so its warm. The chicken breast was tender, lamb chops were tender and savory not gamy, the bacon wrapped chicken and steak was not cooked long enough for the chicken/streak to get the flavors of the bacon, seasonings or spice. We had to ask for chimichurri sauce, the sausage was chorizo.. and a bit over cooked and dry. THE UGLY: The bathroom plumbing smelled like a back up. Part of the growing pains.

Yelp
TLDR: I'd wait a couple months until staff is fully trained and they get the hang of it. We recently visited the new location at the Wharf to celebrate Valentine's Day. We usually go to the location in Penn quarter but figured to try the new location since everything is new. Our experience was less than satisfactory. It wasn't the experience I was hoping for after dining in so many times at Fogo de Chão (we have also dined at Fogo in Brazil). A couple things to note. It's Valentine's Day so we definitely expected it to be busy. We came in with a reservation and waited a little bit before getting seated. The tables are tight. Like real tight. I understand they are trying to fit lots of people but man, it was so uncomfortable and we were tightly packed like sardines. The gauchos were attentive and came pretty often so we really appreciated that. The salad bar was good too. The taste is pretty consistent with other locations but I don't think the meats were quite the same as the other locations. Maybe it's because they're new and they're still getting used to the swing of things. I think the downside of our entire experience was really the service. I don't know the server's name but I think he needs more training before being exposed to a busy dinner night. We waited so long to get our drink orders taken. Our drinks didn't come until after we already finished eating the meats. Then when the drinks came, the server failed to tell us they didn't have the beer that my husband asked for but he also never came back to ask what he'd like instead. When my Malbec came, it tasted like...well...like it's been sitting there for at least half an hour which it probably did. Such an insult to get the worst Malbec I've ever been served at a Brazilian establishment. Please do better and don't serve stale wine to diners. I sent the wine back and this is probably the first time I've ever done that in my life. I ordered another Malbec which took quite some time to come as well. Sigh. I'm trying so hard to empathize with our server but he made our experience terrible. We skipped dessert because we knew it would take ages to get the dessert and then the bill. Unfortunately, we didn't have a great experience and hope the staff can get fully trained as time goes on. Some things we noticed that stood out are: the manager didn't go around to meet the guests which they do at other Fogo locations. During Valentine's Day, managers also go around and gift guests with dining vouchers so that guests can come back next time. They didn't do that in this location. We really regret coming here and wished we just went to our usual Fogo location.

Yelp
Who doesn't like all day happy hour?! Haven't been to Fogo since they first opened the location on Pennsylvania ave. I tried the one at the wharf bc I saw they had all day happy hour. I sat at the bar and Roger was the bartender. His service was top tier. Very knowledgeable and kind. I ordered the Caipirini which was delicious ! Then on to the food the lamb chops were amazing as well as chocolate cake! The spinach dip was awful as well as the complementary bread. The lobster and shrimp tacos lacked flavor and the cheese bites were just ok. I would definitely go back for lamb chops and drinks! Apps on happy hour need to be revamped. Thanks Roger for your lamb chops suggestion!

Yelp
Stopped in here for an early Sunday dinner. The waiter was friendly, but lacked slightly with clearing plates and water refills. The salad bar offered a lot of fresh, delicious sides. There was a lot of delicious, flavorful meats that were brought to the table. I didn't eat one that I didn't like! My favorite was the fried cheese drizzled with honey. They also bring fried plantains, mashed potatoes, and cheese bread to the table for a side dish. The cheese bread was my favorite. It is a little pricey, however it is a fun experience for a special occasion.

Yelp
Had dinner 2 days ago with my wife, food is way overpriced for the quality. My wife got a salmon that arrived quick, I got a wagyu NY strip that took almost 30 minutes after my wife had eaten her salmon. I know wagyu beef is not cheap but the quality of the steak was nowhere near $150, if anything $60. I also ended up with stomachache. $400 bill for a low quality food. I strongly suggest not wasting your time at this restaurant. Staff was friendly but food quality was mid/low. Tres leches dessert was good

Yelp
This location just opened at the Wharf and they have a beautiful and spacious dining area with a patio at the front. I just went for the happy hour so I can't speak on the full Brazilian steakhouse experience. They have HH all day everyday at the bar and patio. The HH has $6 small plates, 10 cocktails, $5 beer and $8 wine. They also have small shareable plates for under $20. Since it's such a new location the service wasn't very consistent and our server was always changing. The food was good and with a few plates for the table everyone will have a lot to try. I really liked the beef rib, lamb chops and spiced chicken sliders. For drinks I only tried the gold rush but really enjoyed it, good flavor and it was strong.

Yelp
We went there very hungry, and our waiter, Katherine, was amazing. The place was incredible, and all the food was delicious -- especially thanks to Katherine, who was super nice and attentive. It was my son's birthday, and we even got free cake. We'll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Food and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Javier and Katherine were especially helpful and professional. I enjoyed my first experience at the DC Wharf location and plan to be back again soon.

Yelp
Four of us went this past Sunday for Easter. I had a 12:30 reservation and was seated promptly. Firstly, the Market Buffet was lacking, most of the dishes were empty and not replenished promptly. I even went to the omelette station to order the brunch waffles and they told me that they were all out .....at 12:30? Things went down hill from there, the meats were overly salted and fatty. I asked for the bone in ribs that were my all time favorite, and the informed me that they no longer serve those. We paid $68 per plate to include the market buffet, but didn't get to enjoy the buffet because it wasn't replenished. I only had the lamb chops and the pork dusted with Parmesan. My party also was not impressed with the quality of the food. The servers were accommodating but the food was underwhelming. I always went to the Fogo De Chao in the Penn quarter...I guess I will need to go back there to see if all of the chains changed up on their food quality. Sad to say, I will not be coming back to this chain at the Wharf

Yelp
Recently visited this location at the Wharf with my cousin. We arrived during dinner, so it was crowded. We got a table very quickly, about 9 to 10 feet from the bar. Our waiter arrived within 2 minutes. We decided to go with the "Full Churrasco" experience & then he wrote down our drink order. We got up & went to the salad bar. I was disappointed with the lack of topping options for the salad. Once we set back down we flipped over our cards to green & waited for the meat to come. Even though our cards displayed green, it was maybe 6 minutes before the servers started coming our way with the meat. The meats were either too salty or two greasy, not flavorful at all. There was one female server who consistently kept coming back to our table with medium rare meats. Each time she arrived I would ask her if any parts of the meat were well done. Her response was an eye roll each time. It got to the point where I began to suspect that she was doing it intentionally. The side dishes we're horrible. The caramelized bananas were mush, the cheese bread was too eggy & the mashed potatoes were watered down. They were so watered down that we suspect it was boxed mashed potatoes. The only side dish that was good was the polenta fries. Mind you, our drinks had not arrived. It was 10 minutes before I spotted our waiter & asked about our drinks. Apparently, he forgot to put our drink order in, but tried to play it off as if he never took our order. 5 minutes later we finally got our drinks. Only for my cousin's drink to be "too strong". At this point, a floor supervisor checked on us. We explained the situation with my cousin's drink. She took the drink back to the bar, 2 minutes later came back with a replacement drink that was much better. We were not charged for the messed up drink. Overall, I felt that we wasted our time & money at this location. Although the restaurant itself looked very beautifully modern, it lacks quality. Out of curiosity, I decided to check the Fogo De Chao website to compare prices. The prices at the Wharf location is cheaper than the prices of the Pennsylvania Avenue location. In my opinion, with these reduced prices comes reduced quality. I think I prefer the Pennsylvania Avenue location over The Wharf location. The quality of the meat is better & the service from the staff is better. A good example of this, if I request for the meat to be well done the server will slice two pieces off, take it to the kitchen to be seared & bring it back to me. That's true service. I didn't get that type of service at the Wharf location. I will not be revisiting that location

Yelp
The server, Hector was really good. He was the best server I've had in any restaurant I've went to by far. If you ever have the chance to ask for him do it. The ambiance is really chill, the Brazilian music and the people overall, the bathrooms are really clean too. The food was amazing, the people that brought the meat were really nice and never pressured to get more food. The server, Hector had some really good conversation skills, and he was a very friendly guy. Overall one of the best experiences I had in a long time! Pass by if you have time and please, ask for Hector as your server.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Food was all very good and the meat just kept coming... Quite an experience and well worth the money! Every meet had an amazing flavor and they would cook it at whatever temperature you want.

Yelp
10 out of 5. Went to this new location by the Wharf and was amazed by the attentive service from all employees and the food. Joseph and Katherine particularly were amazing and went above and beyond to ensure me and my date enjoyed our time. They even gave us a free dessert on the house even though there was not a special occasion. Will make this location my new spot whenever I want steak.

Yelp
Fogo is a good choice, it has great meat and it cooked well. Everything tasted great, I was rolled out. I wanted to write when server bring great energy and Yassey did that. She wasn't even our main server but made sure we had a good time.

Yelp
I went there on Monday 3/31 around 4 pm. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I don't have words to describe my happiness there. Best service!!!

Yelp
We love the original Fogo on Pennsylvania Ave NW, so have been super excited for this new location at the Wharf. The setting is beautiful, the staff incredibly friendly and professional, and the steak and cheese rolls are still our favorites at the Bar. If you want to feel like you are splurging yet want a good deal, check out their bar menu! A new icon is born!

Yelp
Took an hour to get seated, even though we made a reservation. Manager is useless and rude. Doesn't try to help customers at all. Do not come here.

Yelp
There's always at least one bartender there that will make sure you have a great experience. The bar menu (happy hour all day) is really good and affordable. The bar scene is great. Even though the setup and shape is extremely awkward.

Yelp
Informed hostess that our party of three included someone celebrating her 75th birthday and I wanted the best table in the house. She giggled/smiled and took us to the main section of the almost EMPTY dining room and placed us next to a couple. This was an interior row eight tables and we are next to the only guests in the section. I cleared my throat and said really? After explaining the two dining v experiences, our waiter asked us about four times in 10 minutes if we decided if we were ready to order. Finally, I said we will order cocktails and select meal experience after we have finished the cocktails. We paid using three gift cards and added about $60 in cash. We talked for another 10 minutes took birthday pictures and called an Uber. The Uber was 10 minutes award and we left for our ride when he arrived. We were entering the car and the waiter ran outside and yelled breathlessly "Hey, you can't leave until every thing checks out." We said what do you mean check out, they are your gift cards. The staff need better training.

Yelp
food was fantastic. everything in the salad bar was absolutely delicious. the cocktails were amazing as well. lovely environment and indoor aesthetic. my only complaint would be the service in the beginning. when we first sat down we were greeted by our server, i believe his name was brandon. he got us some water and put in an appetizer for us. we ordered the full service so we could try all the steaks but brandon never gave us our meal card. after waiting for over 30 mins he was never to be seen again and never got our steaks. we ended up getting taken care of by a different person, laura. she was very attentive in the end and offered us a complimentary dessert for the issue w the server. the food was amazing and will probably be back. the service could've been better but the other servers helped us afterwards.

Yelp
i came here to celebrate my cousin's birthday and was severely disappointed with the service from our severs. yes, severs--as in more than ONE because our first server, Andrea (if that's even her name because she never introduced herself and that was the name that was on the check), barely did anything but have us wait awhile for waters. what made it worse was her reaction when i told her we were celebrating a birthday!? she had an unfriendly attitude and wasn't attentive, she even asked if we were being helped by other servers?? i was under the impression we were going to be taken cared for by her?? after awhile of not seeing her, she tells us that someone else will be taking care of us, not anyone in particular, just by someone else and to REMIND THEM about the birthday. safe to say, that didn't happen and passing along the message about the birthday is supposed to be apart of your job. i've seen other reviews that say they experienced similar service which made me feel better, because i felt like i was crazy walking out of there with that kind of experience. if you plan to celebrate an important occasion, don't come here. i also didn't want to mention that we were all hispanic, if that even matters, but it do be your own people sometimes.

Yelp
food was amazing and the service was second to none. our server Jake was a great guy and was fully committed to his job. best server we've had in a long time. Will be back

Yelp
The food was incredible, but Yassyie was one of the best waiters or waitresses I've ever met! Phenomenal service and very funny!

Yelp
the food was delicious and our server Katherine was probably the sweetest lady ever!!
