I will wait until they get their kinks ironed out. And will practice my "food boundaries.. "saying no". Read below for the Good-Bad & Ugly. START-STOP-CONTINUE... or is this the Yes Man movie experience? Every Gaucho with meat... just say yes man! And then you find yourself unzipping or unbuttoning your bottoms... meat-coma? King Arthur at best? Hopefully no gout! This protein filled evening is an experience! The roasting of meats over an open fire, sells the premise of attentive staff walking around with giant portions of meat ready to serve you. The salad bar has a delightful assortment of sides, and some soup.
Here is a suggestion.. Say No, and make sure they see your red sign (which indicates you are on pause), our staff looked at the red sign, and still asked, I could not say no.. which meant some meat was cold and not able to be savored or devoured. Pace yourself! This is all about the experience.
THE GOOD: Spacious dining area, happy hour all day with $10 South American Cocktail, $8 SA wine, and $5 beer (yes all day), bathrooms were nicely decorated, staff were friendly and just trying so hard to figure it all out, nice clean uniforms, sweet little cheese bread for the table, tasty parmesan polenta fries, mashed sweet plantains, and creamy mashed potatoes were brought out for the table. (Although got cold too quickly), 14 different types of Churrasco cuts of meat. Churasco expense includes the market table and Feijoada Bar (salads, sides, and charcuterie with cheeses and olives), excellent presentation by staff
THE BAD: The bar area is awkwardly designed with a different menu selection - no churrasco there. The signature cuts of meat are coming out at a rapid fire pace and the meat is bland, unless you are the fortunate one to get the tasty lemon zest or seasoning before getting the the center cut of meat, The pork cuts were overcooked and dry (double bone in pork chop, and parmesan pork cube, chicken drumstick and thigh was a bit cold.. note to self.. order as you are ready to eat... so its warm. The chicken breast was tender, lamb chops were tender and savory not gamy, the bacon wrapped chicken and steak was not cooked long enough for the chicken/streak to get the flavors of the bacon, seasonings or spice. We had to ask for chimichurri sauce, the sausage was chorizo.. and a bit over cooked and dry.
THE UGLY: The bathroom plumbing smelled like a back up. Part of the growing pains.
