"One of Acadia’s biggest attractions outside of the park itself is Timber Tina’s lumberjack show, where you can watch flannel-clad athletes compete by sawing through wood, climbing up trees, and staying upright on floating logs. Since you’ll have to drive off Mount Desert Island to get to the show in Trenton, head out a little early and have dinner at Fogtown Brewing in Ellsworth. The brewery is tucked away on a quiet residential street with a patio that also has a wood-fired oven where you can get a shakshouka pie with a jammy fried egg at its center. There’s a great selection of fun beers like a fruited IPA with papaya and a pilsner made with Maine barley and hops. There are no wrong choices here, as long as you don’t enjoy yourself too much and forget to head to Trenton for the show. " - anne cruz

Got the pepperoni pizza and added hot honey which was a 10/10, absolutely amazing would get again especially to go! The corn salad was okay wouldn’t get it again but was good. Restaurant itself was mostly outdoor seating with a live band. Seemed dog friendly if that’s your vibe (personally not mine). Some indoor seating with a bar as well. I also dogs inside. Parking lot was very accessible but limited!

My husband and I were visiting this week from PA and I had seen Fogtown online and really wanted to go to their location to check it out (my husband had also had some of their beers in the local restaurants and really liked them). We were super impressed with not only the beer selection, but the pizza was amazing. The place also has a really great vibe. Highly recommend adding it to your itinerary when you’re in Ellsworth!

Google
My wife and I always try to stop at local breweries everywhere we go. So, we checked out Fogtown when we were in the area. The brews were quality, and the overall vibe was nice and chill. I have never had a Coconut Porter before, so I tried the Cocodrilo, and I will say, it was amazing.

Good live music on the weekends, awesome beer, and decent pizza. Went on a Friday evening it was packed! Food and drinks need to be ordered at cashier so there's usually a line but it goes fast! Chill vibes, friendly staff, pro equality. My favorite brewery in the area!

Stacey Trock

Google
Fantastic local spot with unique brews and a great vibe. And delish wood-fired pizzas, too. I had a pizza and a flight of ciders. Couldn't have been happier. Definitely add this place to your list!

Google
In the area for family vacay, and my wife and I went out for a bite to eat last Thursday evening in Ellsworth. We attempted to go to a spot on Main St, but the place was small and couldn't accommodate us. We weren't necessarily in the mood for pizza, but we figured we'd give Fogtown a try. I'm glad we did because the place was relaxed and everyone there was cool. We had a carrot top salad and the mushroom kingdom pie - both very good! I wasn't familiar with poolish dough, and I thought it was solid! Relatively thin, and the perfect combo of crispy/soft crust. We're from CT and know good pizza, and this didn't disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed the saison and hefeweizen while there, and I bought a few different four packs to take home. Oh, and the trivia guy was super cool.

Google
We loved Fogtown!! Great beer, great pizza, great atmosphere.

Google
Went with my partner for the first time today. We are on vacation and just happened to be staying close by. I love love love it here! Great IPAs. My favorite being the Extra. Plenty of outside seating. The pizza oven is a great touch. Clean, comfortable and quaint space to enjoy some local beers.

Yelp
While visiting Bar Harbor, we drove over to the next town to go to this brewery. It is located in a neighborhood and there was a lot of street parking. We did not order any food here but we had a few samples and had a beer. The people working at the bar were quite nice and friendly. The brewery has a kind of laid back feel to it with indoor and outdoor seating and there were posters for live music. Pretty cool place.

Conrad J.

Yelp
Parking is spread out. Parking lot and street parking. Plenty of places to sit, mostly outside. Started with Vice (Hefeweizen), smooth and tasty. All orders at the bar. They have brick oven pizza, salads and the like. Wide selection of beers on tap to choose from and plenty to take home with you. Great place, come check it out!

Yelp
4th of July early evening and we snagged a seat in the beer garden just before the music started. Was happy to be away from the stage so we could visit comfortably. 3 flights of 4 beers were ordered and every one received a favorable review! Lots of good feedback about the 100% Maine ingredient made. We also enjoyed a pretzel with the beers (the mustard had quite a kick) and took home 2 brick oven pizza's that were well received.

Dave E.

Yelp
Superb craft beer and outdoor wood fired pizza oven in restored warehouse on neighborhood street . Cool vibe - support locals - screw corporate Ellsworth rocks

Kaitlyn R.

Yelp
This place is so fun and a little less busy since it's right outside of bar harbor. I came here by myself on a Saturday evening and was treated to a lovely live band made up of a one big family. Beer- I got a flight of IPAs, they weren't my favorite of all time but that's simply preference, they were definitely flavorful and unique Food- I got a mushroom pizza which was fired outside. It was slightly charred which is fine but I felt like there could have been a little more flavor- like truffle oil or a garlic butter sauce which may have been there but it needed a little more. The mushrooms were really tasty thought and I still devoured the whole thing Service- despite it getting pretty busy I got my flight right away and my pizza promptly. The person taking orders was really friendly and cheerful

Michele L.

Yelp
Fantastic beers and wood fired pizzas. I tried various 5 oz pours of various beers and each one was flavorful, as described. If you like IPAs, you're in great luck as this place has a number of them... and they're tasty. If you like spice, try the Thai beer. A perfect heat in the back of your throat. It does not matter what beer you order; it's a great quality. We tried a pork belly pizza and watched the food coming out, and the same rule applies. If you don't like it, you just don't like the flavor of what you ordered. The beer garden has a great vibe! Although we didn't bring one, pups are welcome. Give this place a whirl!

Kenneth H.

Yelp
I tried Night Nurse at dinner in Stonington and really liked it so I wanted to try some of their other beers. I called from Bar Harbor to ask about getting their ESB and found that I'd need to stop by to get some. I drove up and wound up getting a good supply of beer and we had pizza, lager and cider wine while there. Naomi helped me on the phone and in person and she was super knowledgeable and friendly. The pizza was very tasty and the atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting. Well worth the drive from Bar Harbor! I'll go back for sure the next time I'm in the area.

Katherine Y.

Yelp
Good vibes! Salad and pizza wood fired. Nice staff! Would have liked better (read dryer) weather. Do I detect gochujang in salad dressing? When they ask if you want to start a tab say yes!

Charles J.

Yelp
I have to say, this place was great and may have been one of the highlights of my trip to Coastal Maine. Awesome pizza and great beer but what really stood out was the vibe of this location. We went during on open mic night and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Cool venue, good beer, entertainment and pizza. What more could you ask for.

Sally B.

Yelp
We love this place when we're visiting Maine. Delicious pizzas, great seating area (in nice weather), and good beer. I am somewhat of a picky drinker and I always find something I love. I also appreciate the parking lot nearby, though street parking near here isn't bad either. Ellsworth is lucky to have this spot since there's very little else like it in the area!

Conor D.

Yelp
The space was incredibly dog friendly and waaay bigger than I thought from pictures. Everyone was really nice and they were helpful and the oyster beer was magical. Great space- great beer- pizza was a little greasy (I loved it, but it might not be for everyone)

Lindsay B.

Yelp
The Jam Session pizza was Amazing!! Ambiance was lovely...wish there were more outdoor heaters!

Michelle F.

Yelp
Great flights and the vibes are just right. A little out of the way but seek this place out. Good pizza and a great pretzel.

Jacci H.

Yelp
Fun relaxing atmosphere, and they allowed our Doodle to come in as it was raining! The cider was really good, but a bit on the pricey side. Still a nice casual experience. Very small venue inside.

Daniel P.

Yelp
This brewery was exactly what my family and I were looking for! The service was phenomenal, they seemed excited to inform us of their options and what their personal favorites were. We ended up trying every beer on the menu!! The beer was super unique and the food was delicious. We got the Cheese Bread and it was crisp, flavorful, and of course CHEESY. Beer wise I recommend trying the Thai hot if they have it in rotation! The environment was extremely welcoming and it was a great hangout spot. The outside was also stunning with its lighting and interesting seating arrangements. Overall, if you are visiting Downtown Ellsworth and looking for some good beer, good vibes, and good food, look no further. This is the place to go!

Mike G.

Yelp
First, but not last visit to this establishment! Good selection of beer, nice outdoor area and friendly staff. Can't wait to try the pizza next time. It looked amazing!

Jason G.

Yelp
WOW is all I can say! The pizza here is up there with the best, if not the best I've ever had! Absolutely fantastic wood fired pizza. I got the jalapeño popper, which was just incredible. They also have a wide variety of pepper flakes from Flat Iron Pepper Co to add on. Every level of heat and flavor profile you could want, plus a variety of hot sauces. Cannot say enough about the pizza and the very friendly guy making it (oven is outside and you actually pick up the pizza from the guy cooking it, as well as the pepper flakes and sauces) who recommended a couple of options for my desired level of heat from some pepper flakes. The beer was quite good too, and the girl behind the bar was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers they offer, and happily offered a taste to make sure it was something I'd like. Can't wait to come back to Ellsworth to visit this place again!

Shara S.

Yelp
Friendly service. Good beer. The date and goat cheese pizza never disappoints! The live music was a great addition to our dinner. Maybe gluten free options more often?

Vickie Travelz E.

Yelp
Had a flight of 3 beers - cost more than 3 individual 5 oz pours - when I mentioned the price difference, the young lady said they did not usually have $3 pours and changed nothing. Beer was fine, Ciders were ok. Customer Service ?? #VickieTravelz

James S.

Yelp
Good atmosphere great people excellent variety of beer, Took some beer with us before leaving. Especially enjoyed the night nurse beer. Try it. You'll have a good experience.

Bryan P.

Yelp
Awesome beer and atmosphere! Had a great time hanging out at this brewery. They had a great selection of beer; not too focused on a single type of brew or anything. The ESB and Night Nurse were 2 of my favorites. They had a Double and Triple IPAs that were incredibly smooth too. Pizzas were fantastic. A bit expensive but very worth it. They were made in the brick oven around back. Parking was a bit tight, so I would suggest parking on the street rather than the parking lot. Dogs are allowed!

Joseph R.

Yelp
I did a take-out order called it in their closing up shop at 7 o'clock on Labor Day weekend... There had to be 30 people sitting outside... I don't understand that? This day and age with businesses going under left and right because they can't find people to work... You take the work when the work is there... Listen the pizza was good now it's just I can't imagine closing a business when your customers are coming on strong... Call me a capitalist... Carly really doug the pizza too

Courtney S.

Yelp
In a one week trip to Maine we ended up here THREE separate times. We loved the outside seating areas, the beer and the PIZZA! we ended up leaving with sweatshirts and tshirts and look forward to coming up to this spot every time we get to our favorite space the world- MAINE!

Sirena W.

Yelp
Buck a shuck oysters (Tuesday 5-7). Unique AND good beers. Amazing service (everyone is so nice and went out of their way to tie in the experience). Do I need to say much more? Fogtown brewery is a small space, but worth it if you can get a spot. Their oysters sell out quick, so if you cant get there before 6:30, you may or may not get any. Add the $5 homemade sauces. Their blueberry mignonette and spicy cocktail sauce were yummy (we shoveled the last drops into our mouths despite not having anymore oysters). If you're not a fan of oysters, or cant make it in time, the beers are worth visiting alone. We got two flights (8 beers total) and found that there was AT LEAST one beer for everyone. Make sure to check this place out if you're visiting bar harbor.

Karen S.

Yelp
Fogtown is a small, cute brewery in the heart of Bar Harbor that also seems off the beaten path probably because people haven't discovered how good the beer AND the food are. We tried 7 different beers, and they were all excellent. We also had the street corn salad and chicken bahn mi sandwich (ask for and apply liberally extra kewpie mayo). Both were outstanding; the salad was one of the best I've had in a long time. With the jalapeño dressing, it was actually quite spicy, which I LOVED! The service was also really great. I probably won't come back to this area anytime soon, but I'd definitely go back to Foghorn. Cheers!

Jim R.

Yelp
I would give the pizza a four-star review. Maybe even five star. But my review is only two stars because of the really, really bad service. OK I got the story from the people at the restaurant. Somebody was out with a broken leg. Check. Somebody was out with Covid. Check. Somebody had a birthday and didn't come to work for their birthday. Check. OK, then why don't you tell me when I order the pizza that the wait is likely to be well over an hour? If you had told me that coming in, it would've given me options. Maybe I would've left. May be able to take in a walk and come back with the pizza was being prepared. But instead, I'm sitting there waiting for about 70 minutes to get my two small pizzas? I love the laid back Gen Z vibe and the whole counter culture feel, but it doesn't have to include bad service BTW, the beer is pretty good too!

Courtney S.

Yelp
The best thing about this brewery is the pizza place attached to it. The beer is mediocre. The staff is TERRIBLE. They are 100% not knowledgable about the beer. They had about 10 taps, but only 5 on the board. When I asked if they had other beer she didn't know. Except then other people ordered beer that wasn't on the board. It was the weirdest thing. And they were so rude when asked questions about the beer. The only good thing about this place is the seriously amazing pizza. It was delicious. We will not be back here for beer but would get pizza here again.

Anna M.

Yelp
Great pizza, great beer!! My favorite is Night Nurse or Double Shift. When your there you feel like you are in a different town. I love that. Staff is super friendly and ready to answer any questions. Even if your not a beer fan.. they have wines, and ciders. Who doesn't love pizza? Not just your run of the mill pizza either.

Sue W.

Yelp
Excellent pizza. Great selection of brews. Fast service. Lovely outdoor setting. A great place to hang out!

Allison F.

Yelp
This was one of two brewery stops my husband and I made en route to Bar Harbor. We enjoyed our beer flight during a concert Fogtown was hosting. It's worth the stop! (NOTE: If there is a concert, there may be a cover fee to enter the brewery.)

Sophia C.

Yelp
We pulled up and couldn't find parking since the place is on a side road across from residential homes. We got cheese and pepperoni pizza which were fantastic, and a lobster pizza that was just okay. The cheesy bread and pretzels were great. The only beverages were beer, seltzer, and water. No ice and no straws either. The place is pretty, just some picnic tables in a garden. Overall a good experience, nothing special.

Pete G.

Yelp
Great small grass roots brewery with many local folks. The servers are friendly and a very casual atmosphere. If you are in the area it's worth a visit.

Scotty P.

Yelp
First and last time. The beer here is wayyyyy expensive. $12 for a pint of soso Session IPA?! Seriously?! Most the rest were $8, and that is too high. And, most of the beers are 6% ABV and higher...don't brewers know we actually drive here, and need to drive home too??

Rob S.

Yelp
Amazing place with a great vibe, very friendly staff, unique art and most importantly great beers. There is also a lot of beers to choose from, which makes me happy whenever visiting a brewery to be able to drink across the light to dark beer style spectrum. Great local, craft beer spot, that is the brainchild of two guys native to the area. This is definitely worth your time if you live there or are just passing through.

Michael D.

Yelp
I'm so glad I found this place. After a long day of hiking and sightseeing I sat down for a few brews and pizza. Delicious and highly recommend!

Mckenzie G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and a good selection of beers. I was drawn to this brewery as I was searching for nearby breweries for our trip to Acadia because of their hilarious video about how to social distance properly, and I'm happy to say that their standards lived up to the video. Their menu is IPA heavy, but they do offer a couple of sours and a very strong cider

Gaelyn H.

Yelp
The 2 pizzas we got were amazing- one had butternut squash and maple sausage and the other one was a baked potato type pizza. The people were welcoming and service was quick. The craft beers were great as well!!! We highly recommend it!!

Mario M.

Yelp
Spent the holiday weekend visiting Acadia national park and area with the family. First order of business check into the air BNB. Second task - visit a local brewery. We stopped into Fogtown Brewing Company. What a great choice. It's a nice little brewery with a tap room up front, attentive and friendly bar tender and wonderful outdoor space with picnic benches surrounded by wild flowers. A perfect spot of a family competitive game of "sorry". One of my beer selections kicked the keg so I got a free pint to boot. Don't miss this place if your passing through. If your local you probably already know this.

Alana G.

Yelp
Super cute place. Very friendly people, great music, free popcorn, cool wall art - and good brews! Seriously worth a stop here even if it's out of your way. These folks deserve all of the business and good recognition they can get! Will definitely be back if we are ever in the area again.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Perfect, chill hang-out for a summer evening. Great selection of beers, including many brewed with local grains. We've been here twice during a vacation trip and there was live music both times. There are different food trucks, we're enjoying homemade fries from Eat at Joes. Plus there is free popcorn. Indoor and outdoor seating, dog friendly.

Lisa G.

Yelp
Great beer and friendly service! Outdoor cooked brick oven pizza available after 3:00. Super, large, outdoor space for guests to hang. Highly recommended!

Robert D.

Yelp
Came in early September wife and I loved the pizza we got pepperoni can't say much for what they had on tap but the hot Thai was ok and the blueberry fog was lacking in my opinion but would definitely try them again. we aren't big drinkers but the place had a really chill atmosphere for anyone over 21

Michael Del S.

Yelp
This place is set in a wonderful low key section of town, a short walk from the wonderful downtown shops on main street. they offer Great beers and cider, well crafted! The staff is wonderful and the pizza is top notch.

betty B.

Yelp
Excellent beer, pizza and atmosphere!! Nice outside seating area, friendly staff and great off the beaten track location!!

Amy M.

Yelp
I don't often go out of my way to review places but the beer and atmosphere of Fogtown were so good that I felt obligated. My husband especially loved the Counting Lambs lambic and I loved the Winnowing.

Alyce L.

Yelp
This place is a must if you are in the Ellsworth area. The brews are delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere and vibe are relaxed. It's bring your own food, but there is popcorn provided. Live music weekly too!

S A.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and good beer with a great variety. Bartender was friendly and even chatted w/our 4/5 yr olds. Free popcorn and good music via vinyl hope to be back soon

S G.

Yelp
My review and photographs for this business, Fogtown Brewery In Ellsworth, Maine, have been stolen. It was a five star review. There is an unfair competitor and plagiarizer taking my reviews. Please investigate. I do not see a complaint portal on this Yelp version. I think they are cloning Yelp and using some sort of pass through or intermediary interference with original reviews going to a "lookalike" fake online persona. I would like to know where my reviews are going, Yelp admin. I love this business, Fogtown, and would like to continue to show them my support. Thanks, Stephanie

Lauri A.

Yelp
13 beers on tap, including a Thai chili and basil-infused hot beer and one made with seaweed. I had the IPA which rocked. Free street parking and a laid back vibe. Worth a stop!
