After leaving Jasper, we stopped in at this amazing restaurant and it quickly became one of the highlights of our trip. The atmosphere and view were absolutely stunning. What really stood out was the little touches that made the experience unique, they had board games to enjoy, the food was high quality and delicious, and they even offered honey for my chamomile tea, which was such a thoughtful detail. Our server, Elysia, was absolutely top-notch. She was attentive, kind, and made the entire dining experience even better with her warm service. It’s clear that customer care is a priority here. If you’re looking for a restaurant near Jasper with stunning views, quality food, and exceptional service, this is definitely the place to stop. Highly recommend!

Great little place just after you exit Jasper on the Yellowhead Highway 🛣️ I had the restaurant’s version of the Ruben sandwich and, I LOVED 🥰 it. It was very nicely done with subtle and, delicate flavours combined just right to make a delicious taste combination. I enjoyed it with the pineapple 🍍 beer 🍺 and the two together complemented each other perfectly🤗Our service was great even though the restaurant was super packed and a bit noisy. We will definitely return and, try your other items on the menu. Thank you 😊

Google
40min north of Jasper is Folding Mountain Brewery! Perfect stop off for some refreshing beers, if you cannot make your mind, opt in for their flights. As for food, I had their beef brisket sandwich served with fries that was satisfying. If I do come back, I'd opt in for their pizza, which looked delicious! Overall great place, great service and reasonably priced.

Google
This place was decent. We sat in what was referred to as the beer garden. The service was ok. The server wasn’t too happy but did a decent job. The food was decent but definitely didn’t blow us away. We had the chicken club and the beer braised brisket sandwich. We actually probably wouldn’t come back here for the food.

Google
Everything about this place is perfection!! The atmosphere and servers are all great. Dogs are welcome and greeted with a water bowl and a bag of treats. The patio is cozy and warm; but if you are perchance chilly they will bring you a blanket to use while you are eating.. Speaking of eating, their food… i’d go die for!! Extremely fresh and all house made. The gravy in the poutine is killer. 100% recommend!

Google
Visiting the Rockies. Came here for a beer after a long day. The woman welcoming us was not very keen to let us sit outside but she finally accepted. We had amazing beers. Will come back later this week to try their food and change my 4 to 5 stars ;-) Edit : 5 stars after our burger today. The beer is still amazing. So is the food. You get what you pay for. The quantities are more than enough, Jesus Christ I’m full of good things.

Google
Visit: April 2025 Lots of different beers and alcoholic beverages. We got the sampler with 4 different drinks of our choice. The beers/ciders were all pretty different from each other, which was nice and pleasant! I got a beef brisket sandwich, which was decent, but a bit small for the price so I wasn't very full by the end. The poutine was really salty, which was a turn off for us. Otherwise the food was decent. The decor in the building was nice too *Edit: I had a mix up, it was a beef brisket sandwich instead of pulled pork. I mixed it up, sorry!!

Google
I had high hopes for the Beer Braised Brisket Sandwich at Folding Mountain Brewing, but it was a letdown from the first bite. The brisket was dry and stringy, lacking the tenderness you’d expect from something that’s supposed to be slow-braised in beer. Instead of rich, savory flavor, it tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The toppings felt like an afterthought—barely any sauce. For the price, I expected something hearty and satisfying. What I got was bland, sloppy, and forgettable. Service didn’t help either. It took nearly 45 minutes for the food to arrive, and when it did, it was lukewarm at best. I get that it’s a busy spot, but if you’re going to charge premium prices, the quality and consistency need to match. I’d come back for the beer, but definitely not for the food—especially not the brisket sandwich.

Yelp
5/5 fresh beers on tap all were excellent, my ratings on untapped were between 3.5 for the non alcoholic CRFT to 4.0 to 4.5 for the IPAs, oh the outdoor lager earned a 4.25 which is exceptional high for a lager. Had a 15% off coupon from our lodge which was great. Fun board games and outdoor games which many people were using. Lot of swag for purchase 4/5 food was well above average, had 2 of the salads, the beer salad was a tad better than the pear and walnut, had a burger and fries, and had a Mac and cheese sandwich. Very friendly staff. 3/5 the tomato soup was fine, nothing great, a good dipping sauce for the sandwiches. The nachos were veggie (daughter's choice) I'm willing to wager the meat nachos would have scored higher. 2/5 hard chairs scraping on concrete all the time, I'd try to fix this. We drank 4-5 bottles of water but struggled to get these, would be nice if you could get up and take your own. 1/5 the rules are very strange, I'm betting it is something specific to this location or town or province, but multiple people while waiting wanted to drink a beer and either wait at the bar, or go outside to the game patio but weren't allowed. They are hurting themselves commercially for certain which is why I'm guessing it's Canadian thing. Overall rating, I don't think I can ding them for the 1/5 section, so based on word count for the other sections this is a 4/5 rating. Excellent choice.

Yelp
We pulled into the neighboring RV park at 6:15pm and the brewery sounded good, and we had not eaten since breakfast. We called to make an order to pick up so the wait time would be less, only to be told, "The kitchen is too busy to take to-go orders". Apparently, unless you come to drink several beers while waiting, you can't have food. Bad customer service. We went elsewhere.

Yelp
Update: Folding Mountain Brewing continues to serve amazing beers and delicious food! We stopped by for a quick beer and lunch. I ordered the BFF Cherry Sour (so good!). We shared the grilled cheese special- Thai Sweet Chili Chicken, and the Roasted Garlic Spinach Dip. Both were so tasty! And as always, the staff are so friendly and kind!

Yelp
Second time to this restaurant/brewery but first time to enjoy the patio. Lovely big patio with opportunity to bring dogs to the patio tables (lots being walked around the ground as the cabins are all around). Inside there's plenty of seating options, including one longer table right as you enter (it was actually holding a lot of people that were just at the same wedding we attended in Jasper). Good service & friendly staff once we were given a spot on the patio. However, it did take what we think was up to 5 staff passing by us at various lengths of time. It was really odd as all staff were giving us eye contact to make us think they might return to seat us but we just kept waiting until someone actually acknowledged us long enough for us to be seated (as per their sign request or we would of just walked out to the patio). Tasty food & and like previous visit, it arrived quickly. Beers were given a thumbs up by my friend & I enjoyed a lovely craft soda. Decent parking, ramp up to the door (I didn't actually open the doors, so I didn't check on automatic button or not) & I like that the bathroom felt very roomy & clean. No side shuffling required or feeling like you're using a storage area doubled up as bathroom access here. If you're leaving Jasper National Park & feel hungry or just need a nice driving break, I would suggest stopping here.

Yelp
We've come here quite a few times and we love that the menu changes often. The food is always great! The atmosphere is beautiful and depending on when you go if it's not busy it's very peaceful and a great spot to relax and have a beer!

Yelp
Great service and environment. Makes staying at Jasper East Cabins even better! Definitely recommend for people that don't mind going a bit outside of the main town.

Yelp
Every time I have anything other than a burger, poutine or Brussels sprouts I'm extremely disappointed. Today I had the eggplant sandwich, which was a joke. It was on dry bread and had more of everything on it than eggplant. Seriously--how is it an eggplant sandwich when it has more cucumber than eggplant? The only reason I keep going there is because I live in Hinton and it has a nicer atmosphere than most of the local restaurants. If you're looking for good food, you will be disappointed. If you're looking for okay beer and over priced food that is better than McDonald's, then you should rush to Folding Mountain.

Yelp
We stopped by this place to get a growler and a tshirt for my husband. I didn't even know that this place was where it was! Just off the side of the road from Jasper to Hinton. It's a really pretty setting with the mountains as a backdrop to this modern building. The interior is beautiful, clean and bright. We didn't have time to stay for lunch or else we definitely would have as the food looked delicious. We ended up buying a growler with a special edition IPA and a tshirt for about $50. The staff were SUPER friendly and helpful. They had great recommendations and were really great in helping me choose a beer to fill the growler with that I would like. I will make it a point to add this into the itinerary for lunch next time I'm in Jasper.

Yelp
The Folding Mountain Brewery sits just west of Hinton on the edge of Jasper National Park. Pay attention as you approach it. The signs telling you to turn come up suddenly and can be easy to miss. When I visited, restaurants were not open for indoor dining so we sat out on the patio, which honestly was my preference anyway as it was a beautiful sunny day. There was a bit of wind and unfortunately the heaters don't put out a ton of heat, but they helped. Regardless, don't leave your jacket in the car. The tables were all generously spaced for social distancing. The best part about the patio? It's dog-friendly! Including our corgi, 3/5 of the tables had pups with them. I choose their seasonal blood orange cream ale which was good but it didn't really blow me away, especially compared to other blood orange beers I've tried. The cafe dulce de leche that my husband chose on the other hand was something special. I definitely wish I'd ordered that one. Yum! Food was also great. We both ordered the traditional poutine and the only mistake was not sharing a single bowl. The portions were huge! I'm not complaining though. It just meant I had leftovers for later in the day.

Yelp
Folding Mountain Brewery is a fairly young brewery in the town of Hinton, AB, just before entering the Jasper National Park. It brews its own beers, and has a kitchen and very good foods!! The beers are diverse and they're all very good, and not too high on alcool. You can tell the beers are locally brewed, which is always a good alternative to more commercial beers and you get to promote locally produced food and beverages. I recommend this place to anyone travelling in the area.

Yelp
Had a blast at Folding Mountain Brewery. We stayed next door at Jasper East Cabins and walked over for a mid afternoon beer and root beer. We also shared fries.. sooooo good. Definitely worth stopping in for great food and drinks. And maybe a sweater or cap.

Yelp
Such a cool spot! This place is new, modern, in the mountains and has done a great job of capturing just that! The venue is gorgeous and spacious with tons of little details that add to the atmosphere. The service is excellent with staff who make you feel like a regular on your first visit. The food is simple but with fresh twists and options for all. I'm not a beer drinker but my husband enjoyed the variety of options and was happy with his selections. I loved that they had a cider on tap from a sister brewery! This place is a great pre or post Jasper stop for sure! There are also lots of great hikes close by if your interested!

Yelp
A cute little stop for after a day of snowboarding or skiing at Marmot. It's on the way which is highly convenient, just after the national park check stop/entrance. Lots of parking and space. They have a really lovely space that seems really new. On a plus side they had a few board games and food options too. We tried just about all they had- flights are sold in sets of 4 for a decent price. And they were okay...the best, most unique was the cranberry one. Otherwise none of the others really stood out for me. I was a little sad they weren't offering any tours of the facility. Our one friend is vegetarian and said she had the salad before but found it wasn't very filling. The grilled cheese sounded good though. It looks like they have an outdoor patio which I'm sure gives a stunning mountain view.

Yelp
How cool is it to be heading out of one of the most beautiful natural spaces on Earth (Jasper NP) and spot this architectural wonder of a brewery just waiting to quench that thirst you worked up from all the hiking and walking. Seems they're just getting started here but I have high hopes for their future. The food was stellar. I saw the charcuterie board come out and the picture of it on here is spot-on. I don't care for charcuterie but they had a scrumptious burg which I happily devoured. My girlfriend got the Italian sausage that was prepared, dressed and presented like a German bratwurst. That was a pretty unique mix. She said it was the best. We each had the lightest beers on the menu and no others. The Hefeweizen and the other a wheat beer I believe that had a touch of honey to it. They weren't the most impressive ones and seemed to follow more closely to the German standard for beer. That's not to say the other beers on the menu wouldn't have something better to offer. Perhaps as they get rolling they'll have some small batch stuff on tap too. Seems like most of the beers around this part of Canada are from BC so some new AB stuff couldn't hurt! Why 4 stars? Aside from the beers, we dealt with two servers/bartenders. I guess one of them was having a rough day. She did not seem happy to be there. Didn't care much for us taking our (her) time placing orders at the bar. I was assured it was only her when another server came around and was the brightest personality and carried a good conversation with us. I even saw the less-happy one frustrating another table of customers too. In any case, this was a great brewery in many ways. On warmer days they have a sweet outdoor setup. Maybe one day if I find myself cycling around these parts I will stop back in for an update. Cheers!

Yelp
Great location near Jasper National Park. The staff were kind, the establishment was clean, and the mountain views were beautiful. I'd recommend sitting outside in the summer if you are able to. They have many beers to chose from, and they allowed me to sample the beer I purchased beforehand. As a person who typically doesn't prefer the beer tasting, I enjoyed the alpine cranberry sour. The tomato soup and grilled cheese were delicious! I will certainly be coming back next time I am in the area.

Yelp
We ate here while staying in Jasper. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato soup! It was pretty tasty and seemed very gourmet. But super greasy! I also ordered their Margarita Ale and it was disgusting. I am not a beer person, though. So maybe a beer lover would enjoy it. But it made me gag. We ate outside which was very nice, seeing as it's right up against the mountain. BUT it seems as though there is some sort of sewage problem because it stunk SO bad. We couldn't wait to leave because of how badly it smelled. Other tables around us were plugging their noses. Not a problem you want to have while you're eating! Other than that, it was really good. I probably wouldn't eat here again. But it was good for a one time dinner!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food (had burger and nachos, both were great) and beer, but seems quite understaffed in the kitchen - we came for dinner and had to wait for ~an hour after we had put our orders in to get our food.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place for over a year now. Drove past it on the highway to and from Jasper national park. We stopped in after doing some cross country skiing at the Hinton Nordic club. It's about a 10min drive west of Hinton. It's an impressively constructed brewery. Grand windows on almost every wall so you can admire the mountain range that surround it. Greeted by very friendly staff behind the counter. You order and pay for your food at the counter and then they bring it out to you. They had a fast menu of beers on tap and few seasonally beers. I ordered the Westfalen altbeir , nice and crisp but with some tasty rich chocolate notes, but not heavy. Also enjoyed the porter braised beef sandwich with hot fresh fries. Sandwich had beef slow cooked in their porter, I loved the pickled red onion it was topped with. My friend got the grilled cheese of the week which I was lucky to steal a bite of, it had a sliced sausage with pickle and a nice seedy mustard with cheese of course. We sat back and enjoyed the views. Food was really quick. The owner came by and chatted with us which was nice. He let us know that they have open mic nights and that they can get quick busy in the evenings and that they do get some Hinton locals out there too. Also let us know where we could find there beers in jasper. This is the perfect place to grab lunch/dinner on your way into or out of Jasper. Can't wait to stop in again in the future.

Yelp
Excellent beer. Mediocre food. The beer here is top notch, sadly, the food does not live up to its liquid cousin. Burger was bland, greasy and uninspiring. The piece of raw kale on it was a weird thing, but it was the item with the most flavour on the burger. Kale....most flavour, you heard that right. Poutine was also bland. Underseasoned gravy made flavorless. Nice place, great patio, great beer, good service, food is the weak link.

Yelp
So I am updating my review because of the service I experienced this last weekend. It was abysmal. Mainly the hostess we had issues with. We arrived right after a couple who wanted only beer in growlers to go. The restaurant had a lot of space but the hostess wouldn't seat us until the beer was selected and paid for. The couple in front of us even told the server, "We need a few minutes to sample our beer, why doesn't the couple go ahead of us." And she said no. And of course, when you are buying growlers of beer you need to choose wisely. And I didn't want to rush them, but I was so disgusted with the server. We waited 15 minutes at a not full restaurant because the server wouldn't get someone to seat us. I have not been treated that badly in a long time. The couple ahead of us apologized profusely. Totally not their fault. The hostess was at fault. There was no reason why we couldn't have been seated, if fact the couple moved out of the way so we could go by. Then when we finally sat down it took the waitress another 10 minutes to come by, and we had to ask for water twice...plus there were two staff standing where the beer was to be poured not doing anything, when the two waitresses on the patio seemed overrun. Food was good, beer was awesome, but we were so irritated on how we were treated that I can't say we loved being there. Probably won't go back until COVID -19 is over and it is back to usual business. It didn't seem like they had a system for procedures.

Yelp
Come to sip on a beer, enjoy the ambiance, but avoid the food. Food = 1.5 / 5 Terrible grilled cheese. It had one thin slice of plastic-y Kraft singles, a bunch of mayo (even though I informed them that I'm allergic to egg), some avocado on white bread. The quinoa bowl had no flavor, no sauce despite the menu saying it had a cilantro vinaigrette. The tacos were tasty, but the single corn tortilla was soggy and fell apart. Since this is a relatively new establishment, I have hopes that the food will improve with time. Beer = 3 / 5 My friends said the beer was better here than at the Jasper Brewing Company, but overall pretty average. Ambiance = 5 / 5 Absolutely beautiful spot. Loved the vaulted ceilings; the use of wood, stone, and metal on the interior; and the sunny patio with string lights dangling above.

Yelp
Ok spot for a quick pullover heading in/out of Jasper or after hiking Folding Mountain. The beer was good (Honey Wheat and Cranberry got rave reviews) but the food was a miss for our entire party. And same report from a previous visit from one of us. We had a mix of soup, sandwiches, and noodles. Soup had little flavour or texture, grilled sandwich had little flavour and was cold, and noodles had little flavour and the pulled chicken was a miss for the type of Asian bowl it was meant to be. The ordering and paying was confusing to say the least. Not your standard practise for a restaurant. While we figured out the confusing process, it's worth mentioning that it's not intuitive and makes for a clumsy dining experience. This place isn't a complete dud since the beer was good enough but I view it as more of a "novelty" stop; not quality.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Came here twice in October during our stay in Jasper. They have board games, friendly staff, good food and good beer! It's a cozy place for a conversation and a good time!

Yelp
Good beer. Good food (burgers for the adults and chicken tenders for the kids). Tasty dessert (best key lime pie north of the border?). Friendly service. And a wonderful overall vibe. This is a true gem!

Yelp
VISIT HISTORY: - Last visit: around 8/2018 - Frequency: went twice in our two day visit in Jasper because we loved it so much! - Visit again? A must! If I am in the area, 10000%. My only sadness is that it's so far from me :( FOO(D)RINK: - Beer: In general, the beers here are very clean. it's hard to describe that taste but from talking to the staff, it seems like the brewery has really good quality water to brew with so the baseline of its high caliber is at another level from the beginning. I tried the Parkway Porter, Overlander pale Ale, Three Seasons Honey Wheat, Wild Mountain Hefe. The hefeweizen was my ultimate favorite. It was the cleanest hefe I've ever had. I would definitely drink it at least 3-4x again. Writing about it makes me sad bc now that I am back in America, idk when I would try it again. - Poutine: The size of the fries were perfect in proportion to the size of the curds and the gravy. Out of all the poutines we tried in Canada for a week (we had one poutine per day) in various places, we rated this one as the best thus necessitating a second trip to the brewery. The gravy is really essential here. The gravy almost always makes the poutine overly salty but this gravy does not have that aggressive personality but rather a peaceful personality that it compliments the poutine. Job well done. - Quinoa salad: generous portion to feed three hungry hikers! We all ended up sharing the food. VIB(E)XPERIENCE: - Staff: Nice, caring, educate and tolerated my indecisiveness with kindness. I bought a shirt there and I also wanted the 10 oz glass cups (the establishment only sells 16 oz) but those are not for sale. it was disappointing but good things in life come in rare small portions. - Decoration: very PNW-esque. Cute pinterest-y inspirational-y quote on your way to the bathroom but not in a false pretense positive way. You can sit indoor or outdoors. if weather permits, sit outside and enjoy the mountain view. High ceiling. Modern. - Noise level: low-moderate, leaning towards the low. Even when the whole place is crowded, no yelling or increasing volume required. - Wait time for foo(d)rink arrival: forgot to time - Wait time for our check: forgot to time - Let's paint a picture: Imagine having driven 3-4 hours for your hike-get-away on your mother nature vacation. There are very few places for food consumption and like a Canadian oasis, the taste of a refreshing beer droplets entice you in. Upon entering, the atmosphere of comfort and simplicity keeps you in and let the aroma and the perfect girth size of the poutine fries satisfy you. That's the image.

Yelp
Stopped here after the coldest snowboard adventure at marmot ski resort, They've got a very Cousy feeling with a fireplace and a small collection of board games for your party to enjoy! There menu looked pretty good with unique twist on Mac and cheese and some pub food standards, though we weren't there for the food this time round. We tried two flights of beer (8 in house brews ) for very reasonable price, the Sours definitely stuck out the most with a strong cherry flavor followed by puckered lips( basically drinking a sour cherry candy) the other beers were very smooth, refreshing and easy drinking. They offer growlers and merch on site and are worth popping in after a long day hiking, skiing, adventuring

Suzanne T.

Yelp
What a beautiful place to have lunch. i enjoyed a Mac and cheese with bacon bits and my husband a grilled cheese sandwich (with fried onion and apple and bacon) !! The staff are friendly and efficient. Did I mention the beer...it's great too!! I can't wait to stop here in the summer and enjoy the patios
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely great place to stop. The food is always superb. Almost always get their special when I drop by. And the beer is a huge selection. So something for everyone.

Roman K.

Yelp
This place is banging! Fantastic beers and delicious food nestled in the middle of some mountains. We stayed a short walk away and ended up coming here for dinner two nights in a row. If you're driving up from Jasper, I highly you recommend you pop in for a drink and a quick meal!

Michael B.

Yelp
I want this place to be awesome. I have since they say they opened. But every visit is significantly less than that. I will probably skip it from now on when travelling to and from jasper. A brewery should have... beer. Maybe the beer they make. Nope. Server told me they did have some at liquor stores Hinton and jasper. They have this cool "Sunday only" poutine. My Sunday it was buffalo chicken poutine. Gosh. You can buy buffalo chicken flavour anywhere. Everybody knows what to expect when they order buffalo chicken anything. Well, except the guys in the kitchen here. It was poutine, there was chicken. Maybe that should be enough. I'm tired of hoping they will get better. Off to the next big thing.

Lucy Z.

Yelp
Peaceful, quiet, gorgeous. FMB is a 10/10 place to go on your way to jasper, or anywhere else. The service is always great, the beer is always on tap and amazing (as expected). They have a varied selection of food and beer and is a great place to stop for Lunch. I go every time I'm in the area, and my family loves it. Usually (when Covid isn't rampaging) they have communal board games to play while you're waiting for your food or drinks, and it is always an easygoing and welcoming environment. I'd recommend to anyone. The mountains outside give a tranquil and calming vibe.
google avatar

Karl E.

Yelp
This brewery has the friendliest staff and the coolest vibe! The beer is out of this world, and the food is even better! Great place for families!
google avatar

Alisa K.

Yelp
It's not the best brewery ever, but if you're staying in Hinton, this is the best place to go for a beer. It's also the only place to go for a beer. Beer is good, though not too creative. I recommend the porter if you want something lightish, and the imperial IPA's if you're not driving. Food is OK. If you're staying in Hinton, I would recommend eating. Unless you want pizza, then go to Gus's.

Yelp
This brewery is really awesome. My girlfriend and I were visiting Jasper from Brooklyn, and this was a our favorite spot we ate/drank at. The decor and style is really well curated. The staff were super nice and helpful. The burger and salad were really good. The beers were awesome and we recommend a beer flight.

Pretty darn good beer :). Didn't try the food, but the service and libations were unexpectedly delightful. Beautiful views too!

A hidden gem in Jasper. The honey wheat beer is very fresh and savory, the chicken finger with fries my little boy and his friend said it tasted very good, the charcuterie board is in European style, tasty salami, cheese, crackers, perfect with the beer. Highly recommended to all.

Yelp
Nice beer choices. Staff very concerned with how things were. Chorizo burger very black peppery. Honey wheat beer is great. They need more yummy dessert.

Yelp
The cranberry sour was excellent. We also tried the beer mac'n cheese which was good as well. The selection in the menu was a little limited, but I suppose this is true for most breweries that serve food.

Yelp
Great find while looking for a quick pit stop! Great beer selection, would recommend the flight/samples to start and go from there if staying for more. Really enjoyed the pale ale. Fish tacos and sausage on a bun were good. Kale salad was good but a little too acidic. Garlic aioli with the fries was addicting.
