FolkArt Restaurant Hapeville

My First time eating here. Its My Anniversary. I have to say, the place was nice and the food was great. The host, Ryland did a great job. He greeted us when we walked in. We had a reservation he also set us down. The only thing I didn't like was. When I asked the waitress for a sweet tea.. He said he would bring the sweet tea for me and my wife. The sad part is, the waitress never came back with the Sweet tea. So I asked the host for the sweet tea, and he brought the sweet tea to the table for me and my wife. Ryland did an awesome job, he went above and beyond to make the customer happy at every table. Me and my wife really do appreciate everything he did.

Top tier service at this quaint restaurant. It’s giving a Cheers kinda vibe. The decor and the color theory of the space is so inviting. The open space is so great for a DJ on a Friday night. The food was amazing. The server was so polite and helpful. The food was fresh. Drinks were refreshing. The bathrooms are clean and wonderful for pictures lol. My only complaint is that I can’t buy a jar or their bacon habanero jelly. It was delicious.

While visiting Atlanta to see family, we chose FolkArt for Sunday brunch. They do have multiple locations, but we went to the Hapeville location since we weren’t aware of the others and wanted to avoid long wait times. Our party consisted of six people, and as you can see from the photos, everyone ordered something different no two dishes were the same. We started with the Craft Mimosa. Our first flavor was watermelon, which is shown in the photo. It was very good and had a strong watermelon flavor. The second flavor we tried was passion fruit, which wasn’t my favorite. For a table appetizer, we chose the macaroni balls. They were fried to perfection on the outside, but unfortunately, when I bit into mine, it was cold on the inside, which was a bit disappointing. For my entrée, I ordered the Foul Play (chicken and waffles). I asked for the toppings on the side just in case I didn’t like them. The waffle was delicious and didn’t even need syrup. The chicken breast was fried well and paired nicely with the waffle. Overall, even though the dish was simple, it was a great choice. Our waitress was very nice and informative. She explained the most popular and top-ordered items, which really helped with our selections. The indoor decor was nice and simple plenty art around. And also there is a bar inside. Will return. Great service! Food comes out fast. Pet friendly outdoor patio without umbrellas, though. We had a fish sandwich ( excellent & crispy) with tomato soup (not seasoned, tasteless-needed something), mac and cheese balls (scrumptious), fried green tomatoes (too thin, no seasoning and a bit greasy and the shrimp and grits (great rendition). Makes me wonder if the Chef is at the service line expediting the food before it goes out. I'm not feeling like I would raise my hand to go back. Honesty is the best policy. I do know the impact a review can have. When I use the words tasteless or greasy, I don't say them without deep honest consideration.

The staff was great. They were attentive and polite. I enjoyed the burger and fries, as they both had the perfect amount of seasoning. It took a while to get our orders taken, however I understood because of the volume of patrons. I'll definitely give them another visit.

Delicious food, great service, and nice atmosphere. No wait for us on a Saturday morning. All of our dishes were delicious; we got coffees with Bailey’s, the corned beef hash (homemade!), chicken pot pie, and chicken and waffles. Perfect for brunch!

I must say I was SO excited to try this place. I got the Baja wrap, which didn’t taste too bad. I asked for blackened chicken and did not receive it. Now the Mac & cheese was the absolute WORST I’ve ever had. It looked like the bottom was burnt and they gave me the whole burnt slab. No flavor at all. I hope that is not how it always is but I did not enjoy it.

Ms. Gwen was the best part of our experience. we initially had a server that didn’t seem very interested in serving us. i spoke with Gwen and she took care of us and she was FANTASTIC. every recommendation she made was spot on and she truly made the experience for me and my book club an amazing one.

Aw yeah, a great addition to Hapeville and its budding food scene. Came in on Friday night with a friend and sat at the bar. Parking - street parking Staff - Wonderful staff, welcoming and friendly - Ethan the bartender rocks Food - they serve breakfast all day in addition to delicious sandwiches, salads, and other platters. I got the chicken and waffle with a whiskey peach compote. My friend got the pancakes with banana nut foster topping. We got a cocktail each. You can go wrong here. I would said the chicken was a little thin and I would have preferred a bone in but of the thigh, but that's me. Maybe some people can't handle that type of eating. Will be coming back to try other items. So far I've had the lobster and flounder sandwiches. Perfectly seasoned and cooked.

I would have given a 5....until I sent back an undercooked steak. They sent back something that was "revenged" cook. It was dry and inedible. But rest of the food was superb! Just a bad steak experience for a steak lover. To top it off, waitress had an attitude at the end???? Definitely not coming back and the food was good....

Welcome to Hapeville, Folk Art! I'm elated to have yet another awesome eatery join our neighborhood. This building previously housed a flower shop. The outside is deceiving because when you walk in it's an extremely spacious spot. My friend and I visited on a Monday for a noon lunch. During our visit the restaurant had a nice flow of traffic. We were warmly greeted by the staff. I believe I saw the owner, but she looked occupied and never stopped by our table to greet us or inquire about our experience. Our waiter, Elijah, was a joy! I ordered the complete breakfast: eggs scrambled hard with cheese, hashbrowns, applewood bacon, wheat toast, and a passion fruit mimosa. I added a biscuit since I could not swap or upgrade the toast. Everything was tasty. However, my two slices of bacon was very thin, and I would have preferred thick cut or at least add two more pieces. I had a small bite of my friend's crab cake Benedict and it was tasty. The decor is inviting. Local artwork adorns the walls. You can opt for inside, outside or dining at the bar. Free street parking is available. I will definitely return to support this local spot.

I like this location a lot, and it's really cute. The food comes out fast and the corned beef hash was freshly made (you can taste the difference)! The drinks are great, too. I can't wait to go back and try the old fashioned, and I want to try Karaoke night, too. Solid brunch option, especially since breakfast/brunch is available most (if not all) of the day.

The short ribs and grits were delicious. Huge portions, you definitely get your money's worth. Despite maaany people in the restaurant it was not so loud you couldn't hear the people at your table. Strawberry Fields is delightfully ginger-forward. Good with accommodating dietary requirements

Street parking available.. Wasn't crowded at all for breakfast.. My server name was Gwen and she was really good and friendly.. I ordered a sweet potato pancake which was really good and sweet.. The Folk Southern Fried was good and really big portion.. Fried chicken breast & house made biscuit with eggs your way & sausage gravy. Southern Comfort was good as well.. Shrimp sauteed w/ onions & peppers in a tomato & shrimp broth over grits w/ fried egg. This was my first time at this location which is fairly new and overall great experience. Definitely will be back. The vibe and ambiance was great and warm!

Came here for breakfast prior to airport. Monday through Friday between open and 9/930 normal cup of coffee is free. I ordered to sweet potato pancakes which were huge and couldn't even finish 1 of the 3 so likely best to share those. This is only location of this restaurant which is open for dinner. They are working on a dinner menu. Also working on speakeasy that is currently under construction in the back

Walked in on a Sunday and immediately sat at the bar and was serviced! Lots of options on the menu- I went with a Horchata Coffee, the short rib grits and then a mango mimosa. My food was excellent- they cooked the eggs the way I requested, the short rib was super tender and the grits & gravy made the perfect combo. The service was friendly and excellent at the bar top. The bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and popular items. It was pretty busy and loud but I enjoyed the atmosphere nonetheless. Someone who appeared to be management cleared my area not long after I finished my plate- they seem to keep a clean atmosphere, proactively bussing tables which I appreciate! I will absolutely become a regular here. They're also open 9-9 which is cool.

I was out for lunch and wanted to try this new restaurant. I really like beautiful restaurant. I like a restaurant where they've taken time to pour into the esthetic. Even the bathrooms are nice, which is always a plus. I will say, there's only 2 bathrooms, so if it's crowded, I could see how a line may form. I sat outdoors. It was a beautiful day and I was helped immediately. the menu is extensive. I made a substitutions, which wasn't a problem. My food came quickly. It was hot. It was tasty. I think I would definitely consider coming here with a group or for dinner. I'm glad that this new restaurant is here in the Hapeville neighborhood

Good food and great service! A welcome little spot not too far from the airport when your friend's flight is running late, or if a flight is delayed and you want to spend a few more minutes with your family.

The food was delicious, I had the Impossible burger. But others in the party they had the grit fitters, the Strawberry salad with chicken delicious. Our service was great. We were seated on the patio. On a great October day it was as nice. Try it you will like it.

I heard this spot was open but wasn't sure of the location and I stumbled upon it heading out to eat somewhere else. I ordered the steak sandwich with mac and cheese along with Folk 75 cocktail. Sandwich was great, mac and cheese was not impressive and the cocktail was great. Staff was attentive and pleasant. Setting was nice and spacious with outside seating. I sat by the window to people watch..I will return!

Sitting at the bar, Ethan (mgr/barkeep) was very accommodating. Comforting ambiance with great music. Coffee was good and strong but an underwhelmingly off tasting flavor; TOO BAD... ! Eggs Benedict was Very Good and the waitress who brought my meal brought me more of the additional side sauce I asked for! Will be giving her a $5 tip for exceeding expectations

Sooooo much seating! Large party friendly! The patio is perfect for an afternoon lunch.

Service wasn't bad but food was a slight disappointment. Got "the Randy" only to find bacon wasn't all the way done. When we no longer wanted that item we were sent to go another variation of the Randy with sausage that was severely burned and just not what I wanted.(pic included)We were definitely charged for this too. Oh and the ketchup was spoiled. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but it's definitely hit or miss. Go when it's right to go!

A great new addition to downtown Hapeville. I wish I took pictures but will be back soon to try more! We were elated to see the new restaurant busy on a Saturday, but we were seated right away and welcomed with wonderful service by Gigi. The food variety and cocktail options were PERFECT for a Saturday bunch and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I had the flounder sammich which was crispy, fresh and accompanied with a wonderful aioli. Can't wait to go back and try more options as it was hard for me to narrow down to one choice! Wonderful addition to lovely Hapeville.

We ordered a well done steak but got a medium rare and it took a while to get the new one and it was charred and dry also the waitress had a bad attitude at the end. WILL NOT BE RECOMMEND!!

Great food and great service. This is a wonderful, welcome addition to downtown Hapeville, as we definitely need a good brunch vibe. The standard Bloody Mary was great, as was the fresh corned beef hash. The parking lot next door has started a war with the new restaurant and you can't park there, so please park on the street. We will be back!

Just what Hapeville needed. Went there for the first time because of rave reviews they have been getting. They only opened last week, a couple people have posted the menu. I thought some things were a little high being it's in Hapeville. I decided to give them a try, I wasn't disappointed at all. For an appetizer I had the fried green tomatoes and they were pretty good. It took me a while to order my dinner which ended up being breakfast. I had the chicken biscuit and gravy with eggs. It was so good, the thing about the price went out the window. I'm a big guy and it filled me up, my money was well spent as the quality of the food is pretty much top notch. Sorry about the pics, I was ready to dig in when I received my food. I wish to thank Ethan as he took his time helping my 79 yo dinner partner with his order, who ended up getting the Southern comfort and said it was great. BTW I usually don't give 5 stars but everything was perfect.

The staff is so friendly and the food is delicious. Parking can be a challenge but it's not their fault.

Friendly staff whose service was fantastic. Food came out, just as ordered, in a short time and was really tasty. The space is comfortable and clean with a family friendly atmosphere. Absolutely worth stopping for lunch!

I had some friends in town that were staying near the airport so we decided to check out Hapeville and what restaurants were there that we could grab some drinks and stay for a while. We had almost decided to turn around and go somewhere else when we walked up on Folkart. One of the people in my party's last name is Folkart, so we absolutely HAD to stop and check it out and OMG are we glad we did. We sat at the bar and just ordered dish after dish to share and sample from and every single thing they brought us knocked it out of the park. We tried: *fried green tomatoes (my friend said they were the absolute best she had had while in GA and blew the ones from Flying Biscuit away) *collard greens (loved them so much, we got them twice) *pimento cheese dip -- it's smoky and smooth with a hint of sweetness from the red peppers... absolutely delicious * the randy -- bacon dipped in pancake batter and deep fried... what's not to love? It was a favorite for sure * mac & cheese balls -- absolute favorite of the group. They're huge, they're packed with flavor and absolutely amazing. * Bad to the Bone sandwich. Who's the genius in Folkart's kitchen who came up with collard green cole slaw? Oh, that's the owner, Rhoda. Unbelievably good. Y'all come in and get you a plate. Or 6. You can't go wrong with what you order. And get Ethan to make you a strawberry margarita jam, it's DELICIOUS!
