"Follow Your Heart is an old-school vegan market and cafe in the Valley that has been open since 1970. In the front, find a full selection of vegan market wares, including cheese, from the Follow Your Heart brand, and more. The restaurant is open all day and offers a full menu of burgers, salads, pastas, and stuffed potatoes, plus brunch — try the rocket cakes, which are gluten-free; the chilaquiles; or the tofu rancheros — on the weekend." - Mona Holmes

Follow Your Heart Market & Café is easily one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve tried! I ordered the Multi-Grain Mushroom Burger with housemade coleslaw and sweet potato fries, plus a Red Zinger iced tea — everything was flavorful, satisfying, and clearly made with care. The only tiny downside (but not a dealbreaker at all) was the sautéed onions — they were a bit tough to bite through and I ended up pulling them out with each bite. Still, the burger was delicious! Some great extras worth noting: • 100% vegan menu • They use reverse osmosis water for both drinking and cooking • Ingredients aren’t all organic, but quality is still excellent • Attached to a market with unique finds • I picked up a couple of copper bracelets ($10 each) and some garlic & olive oil hummus with crackers • The market has three unisex restrooms, all clean • And the music was really good — added to the relaxing, positive vibe Friendly staff, tasty food, and a welcoming space — can’t wait to come back!

Google
Iconic small eatery for classical American 70’s vegetarian food. The service is excellent and the staff are so friendly. Food is very well prepared and nostalgic. Good vibes and filling portions. Plus the grocery store has tons of fun stuff like books and clothes.

I’ve been wanting to visit Follow Your Heart for the longest time, and it did not disappoint! The store is absolutely adorable, filled with so many great products—special shoutout to the oat milk, which is absolutely delicious. We also ate at the café, and the fettuccine Alfredo was fantastic, hands down one of the best I’ve ever had! It even came with cooked kale that was surprisingly delicious. The staff was super friendly, and the service was amazing, making the whole experience really enjoyable. The only thing that caught my attention was they were selling felt purses for kids that had a tag saying 100% wool from Nepal. I’m not sure they realize how cruel the wool industry can be, so maybe reconsider those, especially for kids. Overall, though, we had a wonderful time, and I will definitely be coming back!

It's a cute little cafe inside a store. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the service was good! The vegan food here is delicious. My absolute favourite item I ordered was the spanakopita! The spinach and cheese filling was perfect. We also had the German chocolate cake and it was one of the best vegan chocolate cakes I have ever had in my life! It was not dry at all. It was creamy and delicious. Will be back!

Google
I LOVE this place!!! I love it when I live in CA or visiting on a weekend after a recent move. I make my own teas for my health ailments and they are superb!!! I bought some different but delicious waters to drink (you can't go wrong). I bought some natural mushroom powder, oil, and mushroom coffee.....WOW!!! I highly suggest thinking out of the box when shopping. Great place to shop.

Google
Man how times of changed for me. A couple months ago if you had asked me to recommend a place to eat Follow Your Heart Cafe would have not even crossed my mind. Then a couple of weeks ago a suffered Cardiac Trauma. I was forced to face my indiscriminate consumption tastes. I had to make a drastic life altering mind set in particular my eating habits. This restaurant offers up some health conscientious options that aren't necessarily tasteless or boring. I eased myself into it by ordering the chicken sandwich (beyond meat) which to my surprise was flavorful and NOT dry. It came with a pickled vegetable garnish. I ate half of it and took the rest home. I think knowing you have options will help transition people like me into a healthier lifestyle in regards to dining.

Google
We got the nacho fries, the chicken pot pie and the nut burger. The pot pie was one of the best non home made that i have had. The nut burger was good but not if you are looking for a replacement for beef. The fries are a nice change of pace from traditional nachos.

Five stars isn’t enough—this place serves the best burger I’ve ever had, plant-based or otherwise. Follow Your Heart Market & Café in Canoga Park is a one-of-a-kind experience. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth, intention, and history that make this place so special. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s a piece of plant-based culture. I ordered the Nutburger Supreme and a Wild Berry Tea, and I genuinely haven’t stopped thinking about them. The Nutburger was hands-down the best burger I’ve ever had—plant-based or not. It was perfectly balanced, hearty, and satisfying without being heavy. The tea was light, floral, and just sweet enough to be refreshing. One detail that really stood out: they use reverse osmosis water for all cooking and serving. That kind of care for quality and health is rare and deeply appreciated. The vibe is nostalgic and comforting. The original dining counter from their 1970 opening is still in use, and it adds a beautiful layer of history and charm. Sitting there feels like being part of something bigger—a movement that started with heart and continues with purpose. After your meal, wander through the attached market, which is a dream for anyone living plant-based. Shelves are stocked with natural groceries, vitamins, unique snacks, and of course, their legendary Vegenaise (which they invented!). Follow Your Heart is more than a restaurant—it’s a landmark, a community, and a pioneer. Whether you’re vegan, health-conscious, or just a fan of delicious food, you owe it to yourself to experience this place.

Yelp
I have been coming here since the 1980's. Follow Your Heart is an iconic Valley TREASURE. The Nut Burger is one of my favorite foods EVER. Love that the café has a dog-friendly outdoor patio. All the café food is delicious. The staff are welcoming and helpful.

Yelp
I don't know... I'm confused... vegan food is not supposed to taste sooooooooooo delicious!!! Ambiance is comfy. It's a market with an imbedded restaurant. Staff is superrrrrr friendly. Food. Is amazing!!!!!!! Con: servers need to be trained on cross contamination. Constantly see them touching their phones and without cleaning their hands servicing clients. Cups are constantly dirty. I was served wine in a glass that has lip stick mark, I let the waitress know... she poured the same wine into a clean glass... then looked at me funny when I asked for a new pour.

Yelp
Definitely going again! I ordered a pumpkin milkshake and french fries, and they were delicious. The fries were clearly cut and cooked in house, nothing gave the feeling of frozen then fried--very legit. The pumpkin shake wasn't even on the menu, but our server had mentioned it being one of her favorites, and I get why, I recommend it to any pumpkin spice connoisseur. The banana milkshake was also really good, you can tell they use fresh fruit. The restaurant is nestled at the back of the grocery store and feels more like a nice and chill cafe to sit and chat. I love how much care and attention is given to quality vegan food in its cafe and store. Honorable mentions: - vegan! - the interior feels like a home/patio, casual and cozy - there are off menu options and it's worth asking your server for the specials - fresh fruits and veggies you'll notice

Yelp
Fallow your heart is an amazing place. if you're vegan or trying to be vegan and has everything you could ever want to eat. the food in my humble opinion rivals most place obviously for the exception of crossroads is the best the best but I digress. the service is so/so depending who you get there's some absolute gem-employees in my opinion a few folks that I wonder how they work there. The ambience is not much to ask for mean after all you're in a café market environment. They have things surrounding you when you sit and eat inside that's obviously for sale but outside of that is not like a date night kind of place. I am grateful for is that they're open, but most places are closed . Is it mess with food to go so you need to be careful, example, one time we ordered a Greek salad and it was outstanding! The recent Greek salad we ordered was literally a bowl of old looking lettuce, barely 7 olives to speak of, it was pretty sad and for the price INSULTING (If I was served this, I would 100% send it back!) For what they charge, you would expect a better quality control. That's the only issue. I have a follow your heart is that there to go meals are hit and miss QC on the to go counter definitely needs approval. Happy new year everybody.

Yelp
Oh how I love this gem! I've been coming to follow your heart since I was a little kid and it's still such a great place to be. I took my partner here for the first time and she loved it! There's a market as well as the restaurant so there's lots to see and do. Everyone is very friendly and there's seating both inside and outside which is nice. The food is delicious (maybe even better than I remember!!). I highly recommend the Reuben Sandwich with Sweet Potato fries (and don't forget a side of vegenaise!). Can't wait to come back soon.

Yelp
It had been a while since we had eaten here and I'm delighted to say it was a wonderful experience! From our server, whose name escapes me at the moment...(he is an older gentleman with long grayish hair, super friendly and helpful) to the food, we enjoyed it all. We each started our meal with a cup of soup. My hubby ordered a tasty chili, mildly spicy with beans and veggies while I enjoyed some carrot ginger soup. His lasagna looked amazing and I was told it was delicious along with some garlic bread. My half of a Reuben sandwich with tofu cottage cheese was so good. We shared a mixed salad which was more than ample for two. We dined inside which as quite comfortable. Enjoy d this meal immensely and look forward to returning soon.

Yelp
If you're in Canoga Park and haven't visited Follow Your Heart, you are truly missing out! Founded in 1970, this gem has been a pioneer in vegetarian cuisine and has set the standard for plant-based dining. Not only do they offer an incredible cafe experience, but they've also launched a national brand of refrigerated foods, including the famous Vegenaise and delicious vegan cheeses that you can find at Whole Foods and other natural foods markets. The ambience of the cafe is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal. The cozy setting is attached to their natural foods market, creating a unique shopping and dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food! The menu is a delightful journey through various cuisines, and every dish is a winner. I highly recommend the flavorfully-loaded Zorro burrito and the Reuben sandwich on rye, featuring cottage-style tofu, sauerkraut, and wheat meat--absolutely divine! The burgers are incredibly satisfying too, with options ranging from nut to mushroom to tempeh to Beyond burger variants. And don't even get me started on the vegan fried chicken and creamy mac and cheese; they are comfort food at its finest. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave feeling full and satisfied every single time. The organic salads are so fresh, you might think they have a secret garden right out back! And the complimentary pickled veggies and coleslaw? Pure perfection. The drink selection is impressive, with a great variety of beer, wine, and flavorful teas. And for dessert lovers, the vegan cupcakes, cookies, and pies are a must-try. There's truly no wrong choice on the menu--everything is downright delicious! After your meal, take some time to explore their market. From fresh produce to unique clothing, books, and even yogic musical instruments, this place is a treasure trove. And don't forget to check out their vitamin section and the frozen goods, including their own home brands. As a long-time patron since the 90s, I can confidently say that Follow Your Heart is the Mecca of vegan cuisine. It's the blueprint that all other vegan and vegetarian restaurants should aspire to follow. Whether you're a lifelong vegan or just curious about plant-based options (or if you're trying to support a loved one who is plant-based), this place is an absolute must-visit and a boon to all palettes, carnivorous and herbivorous alike!

Yelp
I love this place. I've been coming here for 33 years. It has been here since 1970. It's not super close to my neighborhood, but I go out of my way to get there because it is worth it in so many ways.. The menu is full of favorites. I love the Nutburger Supreme--It is so healthy in so many ways and super tasty too! Today I tried the Heart Burger and I chose the Tempeh burger--you can also choose the impossible burger. I ate every bit of it. You are safe here. They have it all l--breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and desserts! If you need something for home, you can shop in the market afterwards. I'm always happy here. It's good to know there are places that cater to my super healthy needs. That's why you should Follow Your Heart here!

Yelp
Came here with some co-workers who were visiting from out of town. Such a cute little store and restaurant. They have so many yummy prepared foods and a pretty good selection of health drinks, snacks, tea, frozen food, and more. The restaurant is inside the store in the back left part. It's smallish but really cute with a bunch of fun decorations along the wall, some of which I think are for sale. I only had a stuffed baked potato while I was there because I actually was going to get food somewhere else after. But the broccoli and cheese potato was pretty good. I had tastes of the kale salad as well and that was also tasty. One of my co-workers is a fan of their strawberry rhubarb pie so those were snatched up as well. They have a little baked goods area at the front of the restaurant. Service was a little slow, but everyone that works there is really lovely. I also love the little gift shop in the front that has all sorts of crystals and other small, fun things. You could definitely create a nice gift basket for someone here with the variety of high quality food, drinks, and gifts they have. I can't wait to go back and try more stuff!

Yelp
Follow Your Heart to Follow Your Heart Market and Cafe. This truly neighborhood feel and incredible brand as well as health conscious shop has been thriving since the 1970s in Canoga Park. The only store meets cafe in the FYH family though you may know their items well as they're in literally the vast majority of big grocery stores from Ralphs to Food 4 Less... Target to Safeway, Stater Brothers to Vallarta. I've been a lover and supporter since before I set foot inside for the first time in 2011 stocking up on fresh produce (all organic or biodynamic), vitamins, supplements, spiritual items, books, cooking supplies, spices, frozen goods and then some. Their vegenaise is an incredible pleasure I use as a dressing, a base in my vegan potato salad and so many fun dishes at home... More and more than inspired by the full menu of unforgettable meals you can enjoy at their restaurant cafe in the back of the store, just past dairy. You will be seated by a very warm server and given a dining preference for inside or out. The inside has some rustic earthy tones plus a preference for table or bar/counter seating. The outdoor patio is surrounded by plants, misters and bustle of Sherman Way in the city of Canoga Park. For Brunch or rather Vrunch as I like to say you can partake in the French Toast which is truly life changing. And you can pair it with a mimosa, wine, juice, coffee, tea or even a nice craft brew beer... Which is a lot of great options. I've enjoyed a ton of meals over the last 13 years here including the stuffed potatoes (Mexican, original and chili all great), Wok Stir Fry, Zorro Burrito (extra neato), "Chicken Pot" pie, Spinach Lasagna, Spicy Tofu Enchiladas and so many of the sandwiches... Their Rueben being my choice pick and their signature Love Plate deal of a half sandwich with soup or chili or salad as well as a hot beverage or juice to go with. FYH does tons of seasonal deals and meals including for Valentine's Day and Christmas, but their vegan Thanksgiving dinner is truly one to remember. We had a very veggie Friendsgiving last year courtesy my friend Andrew (grateful for him). And I was the only veggie in the mix! I'm thinking I might follow up again this year. The tofurkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing and green beans were all the kind of yum that leaves a lasting impression. Everyone is still talking about how good it is. It's easy parking in their lot though it does fill up. You also have access to street parking (a lot of meters), bike friendly (with racks) and a very short stroll from the Canoga Park Station stop for the Metro G Orange Line. They have multiple gender neutral restrooms in back among their warehouse space. You definitely get the full heart experience being able to enjoy nearly every part of this combo LA Valley gem. They're open all days of the week for your health food store, cafe and service with kindness and care needs. If you do dine in you pay at the registers up front which is also a great time to shop post meal as they have a lot of their eats pre-made + packaged. It's family friendly, eco-friendly and very much open to all. Follow Your Heart has a ton of local flyers, community on-goings and businesses displayed on their bulletin board... Not to mention local newsletters/publishings that truly make you feel like you're enjoying a place next door to home. Follow Your heart here!

Yelp
Always delicious! Never disappointed! The freshest ingredients and fabulous recipes that are always delicious combined' Generous portions more then enough for two meals. And the staff is warm and friendly! If you haven't stopped in your missing out!

Yelp
Vegans, hippies, and health nuts unite! Whether you want something healthy, gluten-free vegan and nutritious this place has got it. They also sell delicious hard kombucha's smoothies, freshly made from scratch cookies and pies, as well as candles, incense, crystals, and other health-conscious items. Our hostess was incredibly friendly, but I do have to admit that the female cashier with the blue dyed hair wasn't as friendly as she could've been. She seemed really annoyed.! Besides that everything in the store is so delicious and mouthwatering, but be aware that everything is pretty high price. They also do not accept EBT cards for those who are on a budget. I did notice that most of the customers in here were kind of rich looking!!! The ambience is definitely very hippie-ish. Lots of spiritual memorabilia and Buddha statues everywhere everywhere definitely for the kind of person that cares about their health unlike McDonald's or or Wendy's. I definitely recommend getting the vegan mac & cheese as well as the follow your heart burger. They are absolutely delicious!!!

Yelp
What a great place. Imagine a fully vegan Whole Foods Market. This was our first time and I was only expecting a restaurant. I had no idea there was a 8-10 aisle grocery store, all packed with vegan and vegetarian foods. The restaurant is in the back of the restaurant. Check in at the desk. Seating is limited, but service is quick. Would I Come Back? Yes. For both the restaurant and grocery shopping. SANDWICHES Club Sandwich ($17.95, Grade A). You can order a half a sandwich for $13.50 or a "Love Plate" for $19.50. A Love Plate is a half sandwich and a cup of soup. There are so many options, but anytime I can get bacon, I get bacon. This club sandwich includes the classics - sliced turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, veganaise, and thousand island on homemade bread that is subtly in the sweet side. Really good sandwich - would be a great sandwich if it was stuffed with more meats. Reuben Sandwich ($18.50, Grade C). You can also get a half for $13.95 and a "Love Plate" for $19.50. Pastrami slices, provolone or cottage-tofu, sauerkraut, mustard, vegenaise & Thousand Island on housemade rye bread. Pastrami is another of the meats I rarely get to try. After nearly 30 years of being a vegetarian, I was really excited to try this. The pastrami was really tasty, but this was my bad. I should've asked for the sauerkraut on the side. Again, I wish it was packed with sliced pastrami because that's all I ended up eating. SOUPS - Cup, $6.50 - Bowl, $7.95 Vegan Chili (Grade A). It's hearty and sticks to your ribs like all good chilis should. Even though it was 90+ degrees outside, a hot bowl of vegan chili still hit the spot. A variety of beans and I believe it had soy grounds. I actually couldn't tell because the chili was so thick, Potato Leek (Grade A) Creamy, but without hurting my stomach hours later. Has all the flavors of a non-vegan potato leek so no complaints here. JUICES Fresh Pressed Organic Juice / Here Comes the Sun (8oz $9.50 | 12oz $10.95 | 16oz $12.95) - what a refreshing drink. Carrots, oranges, apples, and lemon -- just slightly sweet in a very good way. Perfect way to cleanse the palette after every bite. BOTTOM LINE They've been around since the 1970s ... 'nuff said

Yelp
Came here for lunch after not being in this area for 25 years and the food is still excellent. We both had the famous "Nut Burger Supreme" which clocks in at almost 19 bucks (comes with cole slaw). Kinda falls apart if you take it out of the paper wrapper so be warned if you want to cut in half to share). They also have an outdoor patio which is covered -- so we enjoyed our lunch on a busy holiday Monday. Poked around in their market afterwards but the prices were quite high -- higher than Whole Foods for most packaged /name brand items so we passed. Still, they must be doing something right as they've been here since 1970.

Yelp
I have been going to this store with my mom since I was a little girl, it is such a special place. It was one of the only places that offered non-dairy milk in the 90s. There is an aisle with natural homeopathic remedies and herbs and there is always someone there to assist and make recommendations. This store has so many unique items that I could spend hours here! The past few years my mom and I have tried their restaurant and absolutely love it. Their soups are delicious as well as their burritos and burgers. We love getting the nut burger in a wrap. The ambience is also unique and it's a place I love visiting any chance I get. Very grateful that this place has been around for so long! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE Follow Your Heart!! I feel like the luckiest vegan person alive since they're a few miles from where I love. The restaurant is always delicious and satisfying, and the market is my favorite part because I go relatively often for prepared foods, snacks, desserts (their baked goods right in front of their restaurant and next to the cashiers are divine), their fresh sliced breads are delicious, and any kind of spiritual or creative knick-knack. I hands down love their jewelry, my twin sister gifted me a high-quality pair of earrings from them this Christmas, and I love them! I've also gotten a medium sized crystal from them in the past which was, like any carved crystal, an investment, haha, and I also love it. You know how big of a fan I am when my mom got me a FYH gift card as part of my Christmas Gift, because I normally despise gifts cards, yet I was so excited for it because I felt like I was being forced to get a non-food and longlasting item from them, which is perfect because they have so many unique things. Service is great. Customer is great. The vibe and ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic (warm and calming). There's not one thing I dislike about FYH, except that I need to he careful with my wallet whenever I go because I can't resist

Yelp
A friend recommended Follow Your Heart as a great place to find vegan and vegetarian groceries in L.A. And it certainly is that. It's what used to be called a "health food store" back in the day. But it's more. Much more. Vitamins, vegan lip balm, books on a diverse (progressive) range of topics, gifts, incense, apparel and a restaurant await, all under one roof. I didn't have time to try the restaurant, but browsing the aisles was fun; I was able to find everything on my list plus some impulse buys. This is the perfect place to find gifts for your vegan friends and family. Service was warm and helpful. Highly recommended. Smallish parking lot or street parking available.

Yelp
This place has everything holistic and organic you can't find at a traditional store not to mention it's vegan and has a vegan restaurant. It has some cool special gifts too there for people I love the crystal bracelets and jewelry along with the kids organic toys

Yelp
Stop. I haven't reviewed Follow Your Heart? I love this original vegan spot and have been coming since I was a kid. At this point, it's simply iconic LA. If you have ever tried vegan food, it's quite likely you've tried their dressings or "meats" or "cheeses". It is an original. The food- it is very good. They have gotten so busy, it is a bit basic sometimes so I always look for "wetter" items with sauces as I find some things to be dry. Read the menu carefully. Service is sweet and vibe is old school and casual. I love it.

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was a little girl. My favorite at the cafe is the baked potato with mushrooms. They're amazing. My sister loves the tofurkey. You also can't go wrong with any of the soups either. They market is great too. We always go here for friends with dietary restrictions.

Yelp
Our vegan friends were in town, and they had always wanted to try this place. Really yummy food! We got the tofu scramble, the Reuben and the country style breakfast burrito. Everything tasted great. Friendly service and the cafe is in the market so you can also shop afterwards. Great spot!

Yelp
Loveddd the pot pie and the sautéed greens are so good, could use a lil extra salt but honestly good as is

Yelp
All the specialty flours, grains, supplements, and ingredients you read on social media pages can be found here. Cute store with unique gifts, crystals, produce, books, and snacks with a cute restaurant in the back corner

Yelp
I have been coming here years! While I am not a vegan, the food has always satisfied my tastebuds! My favorite is the Popeye and Olive Sweetpea soup. I can't believe it is vegan! The servers are always friendly and efficient. Love the vibe!!!
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
This place is OLD SCHOOL, vegetarian, vegan, health foods, it's one of the originals when one was considered odd if they checked the labels for seed oils! Good selection of veggie meats, great little cafe. They can do away with the incense, I actually don't want to smell Patchouli when I walk in. Staff is very helpful and there are a few items I can only get here.
google avatar

Adrienne T.

Yelp
Only giving this 4 stars, not because the food wasn't great and the employees were too, but I am.so conflicted with the ambiance! I love the hhistory of the place, what it has to offer in the grocery section, on the menu - I just felt the restaurant could use an update. However, I highly recommend the baked sweet potato with the cashew cheese - so so good! I look foreward to getting it again!
google avatar

Alana H.

Yelp
Delicious experience as always and it was fun getting to try the hard kombucha on tap. The ambiance is charming with photos of the original owners and lots of wood and plants. The service was good and paced out well. I would highly recommend everything we ordered but my top 3 favorites were the garden salad, chili, and the southwest sweet potato that was topped with their addicting cashew cheese! Phenomenal. Wish there was a location close to me in Huntington Beach!

Yelp
I love this grocery store and the little restaurant in the back HOWEVER yesterday was the SECOND time I've gotten food poisoning there. I'm throwing up, have earth shattering cramps and diarrhea. I can link it directly to FYH as it was my only meal of the day. The first time I was ill I chalked it up to a fluke but now I know better. Please be careful when consuming the food there!

Yelp
Had a nice lunch here today. We had the taco salad and a tofu banh mi. Good size portions and fresh tasty ingredients. The service was friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. I would have preferred less incense aroma which was very strong. I'm not usually dining at vegan restaurants but this one was really nice.

Yelp
I've put off writing this review for a very long time now, as I am a 20+ year patron of this little cafe and it truly holds a special place in my heart.... But unfortunately the time has come to share my feedback as of late. I unfortunately have to say this place has gone down hill.... I've noticed the passion for yummy vegan food is no longer the driving point for the restaurant. The portion sizes have decreased yet the prices keep going up. I tend to get the same dishes usually when I go in (the love plate--avocado, tomato & sprout sandwich w soup of the day, tandoori curry plate, 'chicken' pot pie, etc) and the past 10+ times I have ordered these, the portion sizes have been IMMENSELY smaller. So much so where I have actually sent the food back.... I've also had to ask them to add more to it. I literally grabbed a grab-and-go sandwich from the market and showed our server the same sandwich I ordered at the cafe to present how ridiculous it was. AND it's more expensive! The soup used to come with breadsticks. The love plate used to come with a large serving of carrot chips, but they changed that. Now it comes with either cole slaw/pickled veggies and even that side has gone down in portion size. They literally give you 2 tablespoons of slaw. Or like 4 mini pickled carrots or celery. It used to be much more. It just really has been feeling like a scam. There are 2 servers at the restaurant I find incredibly lovely.... However, most of the servers are incredibly SLOW. They will stand and chit chat with each other for 10+ minutes before greeting you at times, and the restaurant wont even be busy. (And that's when you walk up to them and ask to be served. It would probably be longer if you didn't physically walk up to them and ask them to be helped.) I can't even tell you how many times i've had to flag down someone or get up and ask for things myself... Or things i asked for are "forgotten," etc. etc. It almost feels personal! But I don't see how it could be, i am a regular and truly always tip well Like i said, i've been coming here for over 20 years and come in multiple times a month. I've really held out on writing this review but after the last couple of times... it's really made me sad how much this place has changed, and not for the better. Hopefully management sees this review and recognizes the honesty. It's not ill-willed; I just want to share my experience to highlight opportunity for positive change.

Yelp
This experience was actually 1 star but given the many other positive experiences I've had here, I'm averaging it out with a 3. I ordered a chicken sandwich for takeaway and my husband got the club. However, what I found when I got home was a single slice of faux turkey folded in half. I was honesty stunned - it's not even just the wrong order but abysmal in any sense. It was basically a $15 lettuce and tomato sandwich. My husband's sandwich was really dry and he didn't love it. We both agreed that ordering was a mistake and we should've just stuck to the refrigerated premade sandwiches that we know and love. I tried to call and talk to someone at the restaurant before leaving a review but after two calls and a combined 25 min on hold, I gave up. Really disappointed in this experience of a place I've really enjoyed :/

Yelp
Not sure why it took me this long to find this place - especially when it's not far from where I live. Set in a 1913 era storefront and updated inside, yet still authentic to its origins, this store has it all. It's a great go to stop for vegan based foods and groceries however it goes well beyond including a wide array of gifts and sundries and crystals. Set in the back you'll find their cafe which is truly a gem and well worth dining in some time. The menu is really varied and 100% vegan and so inventive. I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and it arrived as a very large portion along with two side salads (a very flavorful beets dish and kale as the second). The pie was so flavorful and rich in texture with a flaky pie crust. Loved it and had to take half home in a to-go box. The nachos were so tasty and properly blended - really loved that dish. To top things off I ordered a fresh squeezed juice. Staff overall are welcoming, informative and attentive. Definitely will be back often - especially as they allow dogs outside on their patio.

Yelp
One of the healthiest markets and cafes in Los Angeles. I had the nut burger with pickled vegetables today at the cafe and it is phenomenal! My highest recommendation for this vegan spot. If you love organic, delicious healthy chemical free food with a down to earth vibe bohemian this is your spot. There is outdoor and indoor seating and the service is perfect. Very pleasant, cool non pretentious vibe. They have a beautiful organic produce section. So many vegan organic foods, a heath and wellness section, books. Awesome kids stuff, jewelry, art objects and clothing. I ate outside on the patio which was very pleasant and quiet. The seating inside is cozy and comfortable. They have vegan holiday food pre orders and the meals look delicious. I'm a big fan of their food products Follow Your Heart sold at the market and in grocery stores. The veganise is delicious.

Yelp
Best vegan food in LA and surrounding areas. We love their market, their restaurant and even their gift shop. Nothing compares. 10/10 on food and service!

Yelp
The cafe here remains consistently delicious. I was running errands near here and decided to grab something to eat. I wanted something healthy and satisfying so I came here. I was seated immediately and ordered the Mediterranean Plate. I grew up on Mediterranean food some I definitely consider myself a critic. Everything on the plate was delicious. The hummus tasted homemade, the tabouli was fresh and the falafels were crispy. Everything was delicious. The portions are generous and enough to share if you choose to do so. If you're ever on this side of the valley, definitely check this place out!

Yelp
Came for the first time for brunch and decided to try their tofu Benedict with regular tofu not an egg alternative and unfortunately, I chose wrong. I do not recommend this breakfast item as it truly is lacking in flavor, the poached tofu is basically uncooked silken tofu, the hollandaise sauce was bland and even the breakfast potatoes were bland. I tried forcing myself to eat it with lots of ketchup, hot sauce and salt, but it was not enjoyable. I'm not one to send food back but when the very nice server came over asking how it was, I could not lie, especially after waiting an hour or so for my food. Don't come Hungry for brunch, you may need to wait. The restaurant did remedy the meal w their soy fried chicken and waffles. I left in a better mood then I was sitting there when they didn't charge me. Thank you for your kindness in that. This is not a review to trash the place but to provide insight of this item and the customer service provided :)

Yelp
The art of food from plants and the science of making the food in a variety of menu items and store items are the reasons I visit Follow Your Heart Market. I do not like coffee. The shape of the coffee bean is the reason I do not drink coffee. I would rather be eating strawberries. If they have strawberry shakes, then next time I visit, that is the item I order. I wish they start thinking about a follow your heart market in Chatsworth, California. I ate outdoors. They need heaters for customers during the cold season.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time here celebrating my birthday with family. Will definitely return! I was a little concerned after seeing so many mixed reviews and the many changes to the menu but was pleasantly surprised. The SERVICE was great! Our waitress was friendly, attentive and offered suggestions. Everyone was happy with the FOOD and I really enjoyed the spicy tofu enchiladas. They were not spicy but you can ask for sauce to kick the heat up a notch. The AMBIANCE was calm and relaxed. Others around me seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was what I would expect after being a patron here for so many years.

Yelp
I love love love the causes and the passions here, but I really wish the food could be more flavorful and fulfilling. The store is cute, the parking is convenient, the staff are nice, the menu is diverse enough, but the food just isn't hitting how it should be. I've been here several times and purchased pet stuff and snacks and desserts, and don't have any complaints there. Prices are okay. There's lots to look through and little knick knacks to snag, and everything seems reasonably priced. The food, though, seems relatively high for the quality.

Yelp
I've been to the market not the cafe. The staff was amazing, the selection available based on the size of the store is impressive. I was impressed.

Yelp
Follow your heart is an experience. Worthy of calling it an institution in the valley that is a must visit. At the back of the vegan grocery store is the restaurant. For the unfamiliar, follow your heart makes vegan cheese and other products available nationwide in natural foods and grocery stores. The vibe is eclectic and very hippie. You may as well be in Joshua tree or Palm Springs. Bill our server was super friendly, funny and had great recommendations. We asked for deconstructed nachos since they do not travel well and we wanted to take some for our nanny. Desc: Organically grown stone ground corn tortilla chips with spicy chipotle cashew cream, organic black beans, guacamole, sour cream, Pickled Onions, Pickled Jalapeno & fresh salsa. Insanely delicious. On hindsight we should've just asked to bring it all mixed together. The banh mi is spectacular and packs a lot of flavor and with the jalapeños some heat. Desc: Savory tofu topped with pickled vegetables, jalapeños, fresh herbs and Sriracha Vegenaise on a French baguette. Served with Coleslaw or Housemade Pickles. We opened for coleslaw. The favorite item on the menu was a Russian roulette gamble, where we asked bill to make us a pizza that's insanely delicious and a surprise. He picked pesto, and the toppings of artichoke hearts, tomatoes, fresh garlic and roasted red pepper. FYH makes their own cheese and the crust felt like it was made with high quality ingredients, lots of flavor. Overall a very positive experience where you don't feel gross and crave your next meal and the 100's of items you could not try. You pay in the grocery store and 5% service charge for staff is added, you can add additional tip. We picked our deserts to go and ate it in the car. Their triple chocolate cake is decadent and so is their Whoopee pie. Tip: If you have kids, ask for their kids menu. Tip: Parking is easy and free in the lot besides the store/cafe.

Yelp
Fantastic joint! Great shopping and the café rocked. I loved the vegan Rueben sandwich.

Yelp
The Market has a variety of fun food options. Everything we tried there was tasty. Prices at the various options are pretty standard if not a little on the higher side. But you are often paying for the quality ingredients or innovative concepts. It's shared space so you'll be dealing with the hustle and bustle of others, but who knows you could make a friend.

Yelp
The side salad and falafel balls were yummy. Mushroom burger- eh ‍ Get the Nutburger Supreme instead (ordered that day before yesterday). Yesterday we were here and ordered the stirfry vegetables with tofu. Ordered a chocolate mint peanut butter high-protein soy shake both days. The greatest place to come. Ambience is very cool and laid-back. Service. Quincy
