I randomly picked Fonda Sabaneta what a place to try. I did not realize how good and authentic this places is.. there was a line trying to get in, but I got there early and I was able to get a table. A hidden gem and Sofia very helpful in assisting me with popular dishes. I can’t wait to try more! I did not like the extra credit card charges a homeless charge plus a service charge then a tip!! What turned out as an inexpensive meal became costly adventure. Would rate it higher if it was more reasonable $$

It's really recommended. The food is great. The chicharrones are very rich, not like in other places. The tostones were very good and the paisa tray was spectacular, one of the best I've ever eaten. Excellent service in general, all very professional. The service was fast and they give you a broth at the entrance of the reception, I liked that. The drinks were one and the other free and they also gave us a drink as a gift. Wonderful place!

I have been waiting to try this place, but it's always packed. We got lucky, and we don't even wait 10mins. The food was delicious. I just wish it was hot and not warm. The passion fruit mojito very good, not so much the piñacolada. Service was good. I'm definitely coming back.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service. I go out weekly with a group of friends and we landed in this restaurant for this week. None of us had ever been here but we’ll definitely be going back. I visited here for the first time and the food was delicious! I had the bandeja paisa and the mojitos were 2 for 1. Christian was our server and he was amazing! So attentive and really made the experience great. I highly recommend.

This is a great little spot in Kendall. The food is phenomenal. The service is great. The restaurant isn't very large and gets very busy for dinner. There are nights that are harder to get tables than others so just beware. We came on a Wednesday and we're able to get a little table inside quickly. They greet you with un consume de pollo on the house which was delicious. I ordered the mojara. It was a lot of food for the price. On Wednesday's they do 2 for $30 mojara (fried fish). It comes with 3 sides.

From the outside, Fonda Sabaneta is an unassuming stripmall hole in the wall restaurant. It's not until you step inside do you get to experience the vibrant and happening energy of this place serving up authentic Colombian fare, that seems to be always packed no matter the day or time. I made the mistake of going to Colombia 5 years ago and falling in love with arroz con coco. I have not been able to find it here in Miami until I stumbled upon this restaurant online. The first time we tried to eat here the wait was over an hour long so we ended up bailing. Finally the stars aligned and we found ourselves with a free evening and an available table outside. Without hesitation I ordered the fileto de pescado a la plancha with maduros, salad, and of course arroz con coco. Their version wasn't quite the same as what danced on my tongue in Medellin, but it was still quite a tasty edition to my fish. My guy got the grilled chicken with beans and rice. All in all it was a solid and fulfilling dinner, but I made need to book a plane ticket for my arroz con coco fix.

Place is nice and clean. Food is definitely tasty. The soup is really good and tostones are amazing. Try it you will like it

I was in the area and craving Colombian empanadas. This place is near my nail salon and had good reviews when I checked them out on Yelp so I decided to give them a try. Even though it's more of a restaurant than a Colombian bakery, the server said I could order however many I wanted. So I got three empanadas to go, 2 chicken, 1 beef. I sat at the bar and waited for them to be made. I will say it took a little bit, but it was worth it because they were so fresh and hot when they came out. The sauce they came with was also perfect. Fresh and spicy. My total came out to around $6 and I'm very happy I found this spot to get some empanadas when I'm in the area! I will say I was looking at the plates as I was waiting and the dishes they serve looked really nice! I saw someone order the whole fried fish and it was presented so beautifully! I would certainly come back here and try more off their menu!

Great spot for excellent Colombian food. They had music playing all night long which made the experience even better, because who doesn't like listening to music while they eat. Music was not too loud. I opted for the whole pargo frito which was delicious and not priced too high! I would definitely recommend getting this. It's well worth it. Not sure if it's just Fridays or everyday, but they had a $5margarita special all day so I got two of them. If you're in the mood try the passionfruit! Service was nice as well.

Fonda Sabaneta unlawfully charged mycredit card $72.00 after they forgot about my order. I have ordered food with UberEats before. However, this Saturday, 9/28/2024, I waited for more than 45 minutes before realizing the process was stuck and never advanced to the next phase. Hoping that it was an app malfunction I called the restaurant but the lady on the phone apologized because they never confirmed my order. She said "no worries, I just confirmed your order; they are going to do it now". I live in Homestead and the restaurant is in Kendall, so I said. "Please don't confirm it. I cannot keep my family waiting any longer. It would be one more hour. Just cancel it". The lady on the phone said, "ok but I cannot cancel on my end it has tobe done on your app". This Monday, someone at Fonda Sabaneta decided to charge my card for more than $72.00. When I called Uber they explained that I took one hour to cancel my order and next time I should cancel before. The problem is that Fonda Sabaneta is charging for food the never prepared in the first place. How can I cancel before if they took one hour before attempting to confirm my order, just when I called their attention? What Fonda Sabaneta is doing is inmoral and illegal, and should be addressed by the Better Business Bureau. An employee has my contact information but its been 5 days and the manager never called as promised. They say the manager doesn't have a schedule to go. They just recommend to keep calling all day to see if she appears.

I ate here in August 2024. So you know how old is this review and not recycling old reviews. Lol. I ordered bandeja Paisa and jugo de guanabana. The place was full on a Sunday night. But I requested a bar space. I ordered my food at the bar and the place had a good environment. Food : food was good, good flavor, nothing amazing but just ok. I will recommend this place to eat but don't want to say. It is amazing lol. Just ok to have a good Colombian food.

Great food but small restaurant which means it gets packed easily and it was extremely hot inside! Outside of that, the food and the atmosphere was a great experience and I will be back.

Five Stars on our first visit for service and ambiance. Friendly waiter; explained menu and guided choices. Girlfriend's seafood soup was Outstanding. My steak with onions- good. Impressed with choice of three Colombian sides with each entree. We'll be back soon, and will try two for one drinks too. Nice customers as well. Vivacious lady at next table gave us samples of her Guanabana drink. Would have never known. Tasted Delicious. Musician/Singer complimented a most enjoyable evening.

Good is so good and good prices! There soups really hit the spot. Always good service too. We come here every once in awhile.

I loved my dinner and experience here! I had the Ceviche de Chicharron as an appetizer and it was bomb.com! I then had Bandeja Paisa (can't ever go wrong with that) as the main and it was delicious They also offer 2X1 drinks I had their version of the passionfruit mojito and their version of the piña colada, hands down the piña colada is delicious and strong

I stumbled on this restaurant completely on accident. The wait was about an hour but I was a busy night and the restaurant is on the smaller side. They have two smaller tables outside and indoor decor looked cool but I didn't get to go in . The drinks are very good ! I had a mango frozen margarita and it was perfect. As a group we shared different tostones . The Shrimp tostone was not my favorite. The shrimp tasted off , cooked but as if it was left out for a long time. The stake and chicken on the other hand AMAZING! The flavors 10 out of 10 . Unfortunately that was not the case for the rest of the food . I would try again on a less business night where the food could be more fresh.

Fonda Sabaneta had awesome service with Christian taking care of us! The food was absolutely delicious, the taste was really great and they had awesome portions. We had the sancocho de gallina and the chicken in mushrooms sauce. The sangria was very good. We also had empanadas. And took home a slice of carrot cake with cream that was a new dessert, but we were to full to eat it now. Ambiance was lively and fun. Everything was excellent. Thank you Christian for the great service and the chefs for the delicious food!!!!

This place was amazing and I felt like I was back home!! Customer service was excellent! Santiago was our waiter, he was so informative and knew how to make sure we were satisfied with our order before placing it. All the food was sooo delicious and the presentation well the pictures says it all. the food was very very good and tasty! Atmosphere was very cozy and well setup. Highly recommend this place

Our friends wanted to do a hangout lunch so we choose this place. This restaurant had a nice vibe to it. Trendy as well as a fun place to hang out. We tried the $5 margarita as well as the tostones con carne. The food was delicious. Good sized portions and authentic Columbian food. Nice to see a cool hang out spot so close to home. We'll have to return to try out some other things on the menu.

What a great little place for delicious Colombian food! Service is friendly and efficient at this very casual spot. They were very accommodating with our birthday party. You can sit at the bar and try mouthwatering bites like tostones with guacamole and carne asada: empanadas; chorizo. They have picadas and sancocho and $5 margaritas (I had a delicious maracuyá one) and great music (a bit too loud at times). I'll be back for karaoke on Thursdays and 2-for-1 mojarra frita special! Considering skyrocketing Miami prices, Fonda's prices are reasonable. A little taste of la tierrita.

This is my second time here. Today I took my sister around 2pm... the place was really full. The first sign that the food is going to be amazing. This is a no frills, authentic taste type of Colombian spot. We ordered the tostones with Guac and carne... amazing. For our entree we ordered each ordered a bandeja paisa. The food is spot on and the service attentive. This is my second time here and this place does not disappoint... it actually lives up to its Instagram pictures.

Had a second visit to Fonda Sabaneta. It was just as good the second time around. The restaurant was full even after lunch hours which says plenty for a location. We tried this place for the first time after we received a recommendation. We went for an early Dinner... around 5 pm... and we still waited for about 30 minutes to be seated. Place is very very small. Overall...good.. we ordered appetizers..an empanada.. and a morzilla.. then we ordered a fish dish and a Pandeja Paisa--delicious. Our Server was okay---not overly nice--just okay. Not sure if we will return.

Fonda Sabaneta has great vibes and good food. First thing you notice is that the place is cozy, very Colombian and always greeted as you walk in. Most of the times is seat yourself where you like... unless is super busy, which can happen at any given time. The menu is excellent and has most of Colombian most liked dishes... like Sancocho, cazuela de mariscos, bandeja paisa, etc. I had the bandeja paisa and it was really good. Drink specials all day and good music in the background give this restaurant its own identity. Service was on point. Samantha my waitress was super friendly and nice. I'll be back to try a few other things.

Thursday night and it is so full that waiting was 45 minutes but it was worth. Party of 10 for birthday celebration, we order Picada, churrasco, empanadas, tostones con guacamole y carne and drinks. All was delicious. The only thing is that music was so loud so we took a sit outside. Will visit again soon

Food was good, waitress was very nice and helpful . Everyone liked their food even the kids. The refreshments are also recommended , like the lemonade . Morcilla was great with lime , and we also had the fire guac with tostones and chicharrón . The fries were really good too.

Delicious food! One of the best bandejas paisas we have tried and the chicharrón ceviche was in point. The 5 dollars margaritas were Totally worth it. We also tried the sancocho and it did not disappoint. We'll definitely be back to this neighborhood gem.

As it was our 1st time visiting the location after viewing it on Instagram we decided to start with appetizers and a few drinks but sadly it didn't meet my expectations. The food and drinks were ok. The place was small and crowded. Be careful when entering the bathroom as the floor was slippery. They are not up to par with the cleanliness.

I have been in contact with the restaurant via Instagram and by that they have an amazing service and they respond in quickly manner to any questions I may have when it comes to the specials. I've been seeing advertising of this colombian little spot everywhere but you can't say NO it's the best! It's the tiny authentic colombian restaurant but I will say they have high peak traffic! I went on a Saturday afternoon to dine in their was a wait of only 30 mins but it's flew by they have quick service. The restaurant vibe is great it makes you feel in colombia. They have authentic colombian music playing, frames and even decorations on their walls that remind you of their country. Their staff is beyond friendly and the restaurant itself is very organize for the amount of traffic they receive from what I experience with my own eyes. Everyone is in a great mood and happy to assist their personal. Their prices are good for the amount of food they give. They give a complimentary chicken soup in a white cup to start up your tummy before you start your order and it was delicious! I ordered a typical colombian bandeja paisa and their happy hour frozen margarita for ONLY $5! you can't beat that! You have more than enough parking to station your car the restaurant is located in the presidente supermarket shopping plaza. I will be definitely returning back to keep trying out their menu!

La comida no tiene buena calidad, el arroz parece que lo tiraron contra la pared, la ensalada un horror, los tostones duros como piedras, y todo salado... La verdad no es bueno no lo recomiendo por nada gasten dinero en ese restaurante, es mi primera vez y la última. Me hubiera ido mejor comprar en otro lugar la verdad.

I wholeheartedly recommend this place, despite its unassuming exterior. The food quality and service are consistently excellent. I've visited about four times and have frequently brought my family, even those visiting from out of state. This local gem is truly special.

The atmosphere is nice. The restaurant is small but well organized. I love to try bandeja paisa so when this restaurant pop up on my IG announcing best bandeja paisa I had to come. 45 minutes from my house, was the drive worth it? Let's just say I wouldn't make the drive again. The presentation of the food is nice. The bandeja which is what I had was simple didn't have seasoning or salt. We also had the tostones with guacamole and chicharrón they were good. The fried snapper was also simple missing seasoning. They have the cocktails 2 for 1 and they are $12 and frozen margaritas at $5. It seems like it's a well known place. We are at lunch time and it was packed. Overall it's a good place to eat. Maybe today they were off on the season or salt.

(This review is for the Flagler location) Service was alright, the girls were polite. However, they took 50 minutes to bring out our food. I ordered the $30 churrasco thinking it was going to be amazing and when they brought it to the table it was the thinnest churrasco I've ever seen. But that wasn't the worst part. I wasn't even able to eat it because of how salty it was. To top things off they didn't take it off our bill, even though I didn't eat it. First restaurant that I see that does this. Definitely not going back.

Ever since the remodeled the place looks great and has a fun vibe to it. The food is excellent, typical Colombian style dishes. The picada and empanadas are my favorite but they have several options like fried fish, soups and more. Service was good too, the lady was super attentive. Definitely recommend, try going during the week because the weekends get packed with long wait times.

Ordered the 30$ churrasco and was extremely disappointed. Quality is definitely not worth the 30$ and it had no flavor. You he rice and maduros were good. The kids chicken breast was horrible. Tasted undercooked, my son even asked why is it so squeaky when he chewed. I tasted it myself and it was no good. They bring tiny containers of ketchup. My son kept running out. The beef empanadas were delicious. I'm sorry about the review , but I hope your experience is better than ours.

The Best Colombian Restaurant in Miami Shrimp Cocktail is the best Anywhere Great Service

This place is fantastic. Flavors are amazing. I got the tostones with steak and my hubby got the bandeja paisa. The steak was the best part of it all. Absolutely recommend.

Our next food adventure take us to Fonda Sabaneta located in Kendall at dinner time With a category of 4.8 and more than 657 comments we decided to visit. After waiting 30 minutes we got a table. Never in my life have my family had such an unpleasant experience. They sat us next to the music, which was somewhat tormenting due to the volume, the people who were there had to speak loudly, then the person who took our order never came up to ask us anything. When the food arrived there was no space on the table because it was for two people and we were three. The food arrived, my wife ordered a bandeja paisa, her favorite dish, horrible, the egg seemed to be made of plastic, the meat was cold and had a strange taste, just like the rice. I asked for a grill that is for three people, the meats were hot but everything else was also cold, everything was greasy, only my son's plate was enough to eat. And in the end the waiter told me the tip was already included 18% as $22 and in the receipt to sign an extra tip appears another 18% more or it would be $44 for a dinner of $99.00.
