This restaurant is standing alone in the middle of office buildings. There’s no other restaurants nearby and pretty small. Just 10-15 tables. I ordered the hot & sour ramen soup and spicy seafood one I can't remember the name! But it was super flavorful!.💯👍🏻 Also got some appetizers of mixed tempura. The noodles are delicious here! We ordered another noodle on the side. I’d recommend coming to try they had a big menu! It’s unique and can’t really find these elsewhere. It’s also filling! Keep in mind, you will have to wait for a bit. Parking is also limited. I gotta come back to try the other noodles! Just got only one picture cuz when they served it I can't wait and I realized when all the noodles are gone!🤣 Highly recommended 💯

Google
I had a great meal at Foo Foo Tei! The food was delicious overall, but the standout for me was definitely the broiled squid — it was cooked perfectly, tender with a nice char and full of flavor. I’d definitely come back just for that. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere made the experience even better.

Google
It is a wonderful establishment to enjoy genuine Japanese ramen and a diverse selection of accompanying dishes. My companions and I have frequented this restaurant for many years and have consistently been delighted with our experiences. Furthermore, the staff members are exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

Lynn S.

Google
Extremely disappointed. We found a sticker label inside the salad — yes, an actual price tag. When we told the staff, there was no real apology or concern, just a quick offer to bring another salad like it was nothing. No manager came by, and they only took 3 dollars off the bill. This is a serious food safety issue, and the way it was handled was unacceptable. Definitely not coming back.

Google
Very Japanese restrantants Menu a lot of choices rice ramen set appetiezer Fried food not recommend not that good Ramen is good more like Japanese town style not the ramen shop style, more simple Fried rice too good Overall its a nice family or fast restaurant if u live near by

Ziyi C.

Google
Found a price tag in our salad. Staff just took it away with no apology or real explanation. They casually offered to replace the salad, but didn’t seem to take it seriously. In the end, they only deducted $3 from the bill. We still paid and even tipped — but honestly, we shouldn’t have. Extremely disappointed with how Foo Foo Tei handled this. Terrible service and food safety standards. Won’t be back.

Google
I’ve been coming here for over a decade. That’s says a lot. The restaurants has that homemade feeling to it. Foo Foo Tei offers variety of dishes, but they are famous for their ramen. I love the number 17 Ramen and I would order that every time. Their portion portion is gigantic (despite being decently priced), so if you are ordering Ramen be careful not to order too many appetizers unless you are a big eater. Their portion portion restaurant can get real busy, so you should arrive a little before opening time to avoid the wait.

Google
Update 6/11/23: Arrived around 545 (they open at 530) and had about an hour wait to be seated since we missed the first dinner rotation. Overall the noodles are still as good as expected and the side dishes are the show stoppers. They're priced pretty close to an actual bowl of noodles, so take care in ordering a lot of them, they're pretty good. They now inform you on how to split the bill if going in as a party (tell them as you're ordering). All in all, would come again in the future to try their many different foods they offer. --- Food was pretty good but the when we wanted to split the check, we didn't mean split the overall bill in half, but split by item.

Yelp
Restaurant is under new ownership, but let me be the first to tell you, the quality has not changed. The gf and I started off with this bean sprout stir fry and it was sooooo tasty for something so simple. And the ramen, just as good as I remembered. This time we tried the menudo ramen, and it was a great blend of japanese and mexican. Collagen-y and organ-y, I can guarantee this can cure any hangover. With the seasons changing, be prepared to wait if youre coming during the middle of dinner time. Options are endless here, so you're bound to find something you like.

Yelp
A very low key mom and pop ramen and curry spot off the beaten path in a commercial area. I know this is a popular local place and finally got to try the ramen. Ordered #17, the Nan Chatte as this is the most popular ramen so tried it. The soup is creamy with a hint of sweetness so that's new for me. Lots of cha shu and half a soft boiled egg inside along with ginger pieces. Also got the miso ramen and asked for spicy. They do add $1.50 to any ramen if you ask for spicy but many can be made spicy. The fried calamari was good and hope to try the curry next time.

Yelp
Came here to eat some food, and overall, the experience was just okay. The service was fine, nothing terrible, but nothing great either. I ordered the Chicken Katsu with curry, which came with a small salad and miso soup. The portion was decent, but the flavor was pretty average. The curry sauce was a bit too mild for my taste, and the chicken could've been crispier. I remember liking this place a lot more before, so I had higher expectations this time. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to that. The food wasn't bad, but it didn't have that same freshness or flavor I remembered from my first visit. The atmosphere was fine and the restaurant was clean.

Yelp
I came here once like 10 years ago. The waiter said the owner changed. Guess that's why many things changed. More pricy, less food. My pork chops curry is $18 and only 4 pieces. Food still good!

Yelp
Background On Visit: Felt a bit hungers after moving furniture around. So we decide to replenish our reserves at FFT. Visitation Rights: Probably patronize the shop 2-3 times in the past. The last time was about 2 weeks ago. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restrooms: They're available. The only complaint I had was that the light turn off while I was using the restroom. I ended up having to use my flashlight on my phone. I told a staffer about it and she said it was on a timer and that there was no way to turn it back on until it decides to. Thought that was a little weird when she said that. Ambiance/Decor: A hole in a wall type of restaurant with. It could use some updated furnishings. Service: Thought service was relatively okay. Staffers were a friendly and at times attentive. Took a while for them to come to take our order, but that's alright. Ramen came out at a decent time. Appetizer Of Choice: They didn't offer kaarage on the menu, so we decided to get the Takoyaki instead. Thought it was tasty and the mayo and takoyaki sauce enhanced the eating experience. Ramen Of Choice: Didn't remember what type of ramen I had over 10 years ago, but I do remember the last ramen bowl I had. I tried the Nanchatte Tonkotsu ramen. Thought the broth was okay. The broth was semi tasty, but after slurping more broth it... It just tasted salty. Wished that had a option to reduce the oil/salt level like other places. Foo Foo Tei For Thought: Might be patronizing this shop again, but not frequently.

Yelp
I usually come for ramen, but today they said none of the ramen dishes are available. I settled on the Hamburg Curry Rice. The dish arrived looking like a stew. The piece of meat in the center was soft and did not hold its shape. I sent it back before taking a pic. The other dish I ordered was the atka mackerel. It was the worst version of this I've had. The meat had overly firm texture and did not have good flavor.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
I ordered the omelette curry and the tonkotsu ramen. The tonkotsu ramen was delicious and rich and the noodles were made well. One thing I have to say is the ramen was a little bit more creamy than I expected but I think that you would like it depending on your own preference. The meat was enjoyable and comforting. As for the curry it was well complimented by the omelette which was made perfectly, but I think the curry could have had more flavor although it did have a thick consistency which I liked. There wasn't much people in the store but I felt welcomed. The lady that served us was very kind and the food had pretty large portions for the price. My friends recommended to me this place and it did not disappoint.

Yelp
#17 Broth is good. Think creamy ramen. The flavors were solid. It's no wonder why this place is well known in the area. Meat was too fatty for me. Noodles were too thin for my preference. I appreciate the temperature of the Ramen. Thanks Angel!

Ruben R.

Yelp
Great food and flavor, large portions and good on the wallet. Friendly staff always a plus. Definitely will return and definitely recommend.

Yelp
I did not even know they reopened again until the rents mentioned it. Same location as I remembered from...gosh, was it over 10 yrs ago? Sheesh, time flies. Unlike before, there was no huge line out the door. We came closer to closing, 1ish. The same menu was on the side of the wall. We were greeted and seated right away. I ordered what I used to order before, #17 Nachatte Tonkatsu Ramen to split so I could order some apps too. Tempura mixed, and gyoza. They don't pan fry the dumplings like before, where it comes out like a flying saucer. They are individually pan fried like normal but still very tasty and with a lightly crispy bottom. The ramen was just how I remembered. Piping hot, which is rare in a ramen place when ordering tonkatsu based soup. Noods were al dente, just how I like it, and very slurpable. Pork slice was tender and flavorful. A bit too fatty for DD. The soup wasn't too heavy that we both did a great job down the soup. Tempura was crunchy and vegetables were tender. Excellent fry and not oily at all. I am glad they are back in business. Can't wait to come back with Hubs next time.

Yelp
A hole in wall ramen shop that sells a variety of food including noodles, curry, fried rice, and lots of appetizers. The menu is huge! Shio ramen 3.5/5 - this is the salt-based ramen. the noodles were cooked well. It was light in flavor. A few slices of pork. Shoyu ramen - 4/5 - this is a soy sauce-based ramen. The noodles were delicious! The texture were soft and chewy. Personal preference, but I enjoy shoyu a bit more. Service was great! The ladies were very attentive and helpful! There is a small parking lot.

Yelp
Side dishes prices Omg Too bad I don't understand how they make this prices really don't understand and then food is very salted deep fried chicken. One pieces is like nail side 10 pieces is it $12 and mochi cheese that is Like Korean dog pokey they didn't use the hot sauce Coochie Zhang. Also this is very very small but is it the $12 10 years ago, our family very usual this this restaurant After 10 years later, today is I first time visit, but make me very very sad

Yelp
oh my god i am literally in heaven. i dont know if im biased but i literally DREAM of eating here at least once a week. literally everything i have gotten here has been so good and so authentic. their prices are fair and the portions are HUGE. would recommend trying the broiled squid, unagi bowl, or maybe ramen to share since the portion size is pretty big! my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE to get is the omelette rice plus pork cutlet WHICH IS ONLY 14 DOLLARS IT IS SO SO GOOD!

Yelp
Man, the feeling of a last-minute invite to a beloved, new-to-me mom n pop eatery in the SGV... On a late summer Sunday, where the pollution hung in the air and gave the purple light of sunset a presence that evoked an Ed Ruscha text painting gradient background. In me, at least, but what you gonna do, I'm hungry, feel me? FFT has the kind of textures and ambience only some can appreciate: green-tinged fluorescent overheads, pink walls, and then a very warm tungsten bulb in the bathroom hallway. The kitchen lighting is straight out of a Greg Girard photograph and there is a huge printed photo menu on the far wall. It turned out that the night we went, they were short staffed (does this happen often, FFT?) so only certain dishes were available. And tradtional Omurice was not, something about the demi-glace. So we pivoted a little. The Omurice w/ Curry + Katsu was delish. Great texture on the egg, curry gray having a homemade mouthfeel and flavor. Miso Eggplant was nice too. I could have used some steamed rice to offset the saltiness but we were very hungry at this point so it went right down. As did two cold Sapporo drafts. I grew up in Torrance until I was 10 years old, and there was something familiar about the faces I saw at the three or four tables eating around us, a suburban energy different from who I am and where I live now but still part of my identity. Will be back to try more dishes.

Yelp
Foo Foo Tei is a hidden gem! I love coming here for lunch. It's a small hole-in-the-wall spot with a welcoming, homey atmosphere that makes the experience even better. The staff is friendly and makes you feel right at home. The space is small, with about 15 tables inside, so it fills up fast. If you want to avoid a long wait, get there right at opening or just before, there's always a line, and for good reason. I ordered the Kimchi Ramen with Pork Chashu, and it was absolutely delicious! The flavor was perfect. My co-workers ordered the Seafood Ramen and Chicken Katsu Curry, and both were also excellent. The katsu was perfectly crispy, and the curry was rich and full of flavor. A solid spot for a cozy meal with great ramen and Japanese comfort food.
google avatar

Lily W.

Yelp
I dream about the nanchatte cream ramen (#17 on their menu). That's how good it is! It's as if everything warm and comfy had been rolled up into a dish. Make sure to check their hours before going because they're closed during certain hours. They have a small lot for parking, and street parking is easy to find.
google avatar

Breanna Y.

Yelp
This is one my of new favorite ramen spots! Foo foo tei has been open for years, but I never had the chance to try it until recently. Their portion sizes are HUGE, and the ramen definitely lasted me a few meals. I got the soup with pork and veggies, and they did not skimp at all. For the portion sizes, the prices are very reasonable as well. I will 100% be coming back here!
google avatar

Frank L.

Yelp
Tried this place on a whim. It is kinda lowkey since the restaurant is small and the interior is very intimate. Don't judge by appearance tho bc the food tells a much different story. I got the #17 since it looked like the most popular ramen. There was a wait but it wasn't that long. Tbh, the presentation didn't look very appetizing with way too much broth and it did kinda have a smell, but again don't judge by appearance. Which I'm glad I didn't!! The broth was very rich and creamy. Maybe too rich and creamy? I had a hard time slurping my bowl but I came on an empty stomach so it was filling. The noodles were good ramen noodles as expected. The char siu was soooo good. Thick, fatty pieces of melt in your mouth rolled pork. They include two pieces and they were thick enough that it felt like four. They also include a slice of narutomaki (spiral fishcake) and half of a boiled egg. The egg was not soft boiled with the yolk not being runny, but I honestly don't mind since all of this came for $15. Very good value and good taste, even if it was a little too salty I'm sure they could adjust the taste if you ask. I think this place is good for the ramen, and I would go back for the #17.

Yelp
Foo Foo Tei has always been one of my comfort restaurants and I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much after all these years. I went on a Friday for lunch and there wasn't a line so I was glad we were able to be seated right away. Usually the lines get long on weekends so I highly recommend going on weekdays if possible. Every time I come here, I always get the Ten-Shin ramen and Fried liver. The ten-shin ramen is packed with flavor and if you like thick broth, this one's for you. The fried liver is also a classic and paired with the sauce that's on the side is also a hit. This time I also tried the squid which I thought was very flavorful and well cooked! Foo Foo Tei is almost hidden and it's not part of a busy street so it's nice to know there's plenty of parking space outside of the internal parking. The inside feels like you're in someone's kitchen enjoying a nice meal. It's pretty small, but it definitely gives a more intimate vibe.
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
Have been coming here for over a decade and quality never disappoints. We put our name down for 2 at 7PM on a Friday and waited 35 minutes. They have an extensive menu and quick service. This time, I ordered the pork cutlet omelet rice and takoyaki. Takoyaki was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the soft smooth m texture of the eggs was delicious with the crunchy crust of the pork cutlet and the well cooked rice. Ratio of curry was great too, and portion size was large. The food is authentic with a distinctly home-cooked taste. There's a small parking lot for the restaurant, or street parking.
google avatar

Aiden L.

Yelp
Reasonable price and variety of food choices It gets very busy so be there early as possible.
google avatar

Peto D.

Yelp
My first time here and I wouldn't go out my way to eat here again. Was in the area and wanted to try something different. Surprisingly, the food was not that good. Out of everything I had the free salad they gave me was the best. It was packed with flavor. The curry was cold and too my preferred desired it was disappointing. The squid balls were okay, but maybe it was because I never really cared for them to begin with. Don't take my opinion without trying them yourself. Maybe you might like it more than me.
google avatar

Marial L.

Yelp
Traditional Ramen House I had paused for six years, today friend wanted to celebrate BDay here. We arrived at 11:30am, had expected to see a wait line like my last visit, but it was clear. The ambiance didn't change much, except less patrons. The AC was working but getting warm around 12:30pm. From the menu I ordered #27 Cold Noodle plate, it was colorfully presented, very appetizing in the summer. With a touch of mustard it was delicious! Friend had #9 Umani Ramen with Shoyu soup base in gravy. When the courteous server brought in the ramen, we could smell the aroma, very tempting. I ttried the broth, it was tasty! Next time I will order this! The serving portions were pretty large in big bowls. We both had leftovers for another meal. My next visit will be for #9.
google avatar

JC M.

Yelp
Joke in the wall gem. Probably the best Katsudon I have had in the area. Katayakisoba was extremely good. Will be back for the ramen and other food soon
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
A banger. The absolute best ramen in LA. This hole in the wall is an old house converted into a restaurant. The older ladies serving ramen and the most epic sides are always sweet and friendly. Highly suggest the fried oysters, number 17 ramen if you love tonkatsu, and the beef tomato ramen. Wanted to gate keep this place but just can't
google avatar

Monica H.

Yelp
My husband and 2 kids came at 11:24am on Sunday and got seated with the first batch of ppl in line. I have been sitting here since 11:30AM. It's currently 12:31pm and we've gotten NONE of our food. Won't be coming back here.
google avatar

Thomas V.

Yelp
Had this bookmarked for a while so glad I go to try it. Don't know too much about the place, but seemed pretty popular. Short line waiting already before open at 5:30pm on a Thursday so not sure how just it normally gets. Had the katau curry omurice. Great flavor and portion size. Good variety of rice and ramen dishes to choose from
google avatar

Yelp
This place ruined my expectations for Japan. I LOVE ramen and even in Japan in the famous and trending ramen restaurants Foo Foo Tei remains a top contender among the best ramen I've ever had. I'm specifically speaking about their #17 nanchatte tonkotsu ramen. The store itself seems like it's in the middle of nowhere but when I tell you I drive over an hour to get ramen specifically from here, it's that worth it. They offer generous portions, perfect medium thickness chewy noodles, a creamy aromatic broth all at a more than reasonable price. (I love getting the large upgrade as it's comically large)
google avatar

Edward C N.

Yelp
It seems the restaurant changed owners. The ambience is the same as previous, but seems to be quite a bit shabby and dirty. The service was good, but not 18%, 20%, nor 25% tip amount recommended on the receipt. The food portion was quite smaller as I remembered I would have extra to take home for the amount we ordered. It is still just as popular of the regular guest. We missed the old Japanese lady who would take care of everyone. There some new menu items, such as menudo Ramen, interesting. Overall, it was just okay.
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
This place deserves a 5-star rating more than any other Japanese restaurant in Southern California. Having lived in Japan for over five years, I can say the food here tastes like it was brought straight from Japan. For example, their curry has the flavor of a Japanese late-night kitchen, like something from a home-cooked meal. Their fried chicken tastes just like the kind you get at an izakaya in Japan. Unlike many Japanese restaurants in the U.S., which often lack oversight from local Japanese patrons and focus more on raising prices and hype, this place puts its energy into maintaining authentic Japanese flavors. That's why every time I come here, I savor the meal even more--I don't know how long it will stay this way. The atmosphere also gives off that old-school Showa-era vibe. Their ramen is also better than that of many Japanese-style ramen shops around here, which I find both impressive and almost laughable.
google avatar

Siao Z.

Yelp
Both nanchatte ramen and the pork kimchee was extremely good. No complains about the food. Would come back for the food. Service wise, the old aunties weren't the best with their patience. I misunderstood the aunty calling out our name for the table and said a second time "i'm here for xx table" and she gave me sort of an attitude when explaining what she meant. Didn't really like that part of the service. Other than that, they took the order quick, and have our food our quick. Not sure if it's because its close to their closing time for lunch or their service is just fast. Please know: 1:00-5:30pm they close for a small break.
google avatar

Yelp
I really like this place, nice service and delicious food, the have a lot of variety in the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice spot to get great food. Ordered some curry omurice on the go. Prices are pretty good and the server was helpful in getting my order in. I'll eat in next time when I have more time in the area.

Wen Zhao Y.

Yelp
This place was in an unassuming plaza. No frills place with comfort food. I got their combination ramen and grilled squid. The flavors were delicious and the squid was fresh.

Al K.

Yelp
Food: the grilled saba is not fresh and taste very fishy. Ramen is good, Service: average. Ambiance: below average. Place feels dirty. This restaurant used to be packed with customers and almost always needed to wait for a table. This time I went the restaurant was pretty empty with almost no cars parked in its parking lot.

Yelp
******FOO FOO TEI IS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP First of all, we went at noon time on a Saturday, if you've been here in the past, you'll know the lines out of the door and it's not unusual to wait in line for 45 min to an hour. Not today. only half of the restaurant was full. We ordered take out. the person who took our phone call says since we ordered more than 6 items she asks us to leave a tip. Mind you, my family has been coming to this restaurant for more than 20 years. Ate at the restaurant, take out. the person in charge was so rude, we put 0 on tip. She chased us out to ask for tip, for takeout order. She says they don't charge a service fee, but ask to leave a tip. Food tastes different. this is under a new ownership, we didn't see any familiar faces at all. All new staff. I no longer recommend this establishment. Please stay away. Sadly, We will not be coming back

Yelp
Came here recently because I was craving omelet rice or omurice. I ended ordering the omelet rice with the curry and to start, I ordered the natto (again - just like my first visit here). I really do enjoy the natto and it's definitely growing on me overall. The way it's served with taro, mustard, and okra here gives it dimensions of flavor and texture. The omelet rice was great. It came with some miso soup and a side salad. The portion here is really large. I ended up taking leftovers and eating it for dinner that same night. Although I've only visited this place twice as of 4/24, I really love this place. Just a feeling of a family owned /operated, old timey Japanese cafe. Plenty of options to choose from and just very friendly people and from what I ordered so far I have loved everything. On my previous visit, I thought it was crazy since there was a long wait during a weekday. I've been working in the area for about 8 months and it was the only time I've had to sign up and wait for a table (not complaining, just an observation). On this past visit, while the restaurant was still busy, I was able to sit right away. I'm guessing on my previous visit, it was that odd time of the year during the holidays when students were off and people were in town so people were going to lunch here during a weekday.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
The food is great. About as close to authentic Japanese ramen as it gets. You can taste the care and work they put into the broth, noodles, and side dishes. Their service is a bit slow, but that's because they take their time to make sure that the food is the best it can be (it is). Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
google avatar

Seno C.

Yelp
Always great Japanese Ramen. A lot of varieties and foods are delicious. Service is fast, great and friendly. Inside is crowded, clean but air circulation is not great especially during summer season. I have noticed that after the pandemic, the portion is a bit smaller or there are few things that is not included.

Diana S.

Yelp
This is my first time here, definitely in an odd location but I didn't mind it. I had number 17 and It did need a little bit more of vegetables, but overall the taste was great. The service was average, the older lady might need another employee to help her out. The location might need a bit more of cleaning.
google avatar

Wayne T.

Yelp
When I first tried ramen, this is where it started. I'm talking about 20 years ago. I used to love eating here and ordering miso ramen. There were some other items I've had in the past. This place is filled with so many memories. However, this place just isn't the same as before. The taste isn't as great. The miso ramen lacks flavor and it took a while to prepare. The service was decent. As far as how clean this place is; it's as clean as it can get. This restaurant is old. But it still reminds me of the good old days!
google avatar

Chi W.

Yelp
I haven't been here in ages. So it was quite nice and nostalgic when I came here a few days ago. The place hasn't changed a bit, the casual hole-in-a-wall vibe like I remember. I remember it being great when I came here over 8 years ago. But for some reason, I wasn't terribly impressed this time. I had the Crab Omelet over Rice with Gravy, and was a bit disappointed to find it was imitation crab, and the taste was just OK. It could just be the dish I ordered... as my friend had a curry rice dish and it was delish! Other than the food, the service as very good. Even though it was on a Friday night, we didn't have to wait for long before being seated. I'll definite come back if I am in town the next time, and most definitely try something else.
google avatar

Tommy B.

Yelp
The best Ramen ever! Fresh noodles. Flavors of the broth will blow you away. Amazing!
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. I finally did with my family a week ago. We all ordered the #17 under Ramen noodles. The broth was creamy but full of so much flavor. The pork they gave you was generous and buttery soft so it melted in your mouth. Definitely going to come back and try their other menu items. The menu is so large I definitely need to read some of the reviews from other Yelpers for suggestions. A great spot for Ramen on cold days.
google avatar

EVELYN C.

Yelp
Authentic Japanese ramen place, one of my favorites. The price went up over the years, but the food is still great and good value. It's a must try restaurant in the area.

Yelp
Foo Foo Tei is a hidden gem, and their pork katsu curry with egg is the closest I've had to the curry I fell in love with in Japan. The katsu is perfectly crispy, the curry is so rich and flavorful, and the egg just ties everything together. If you're a fan of Japanese curry, this is a must-try. Beyond the food, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The space is small, but they make it feel inviting, creating a warm, homey atmosphere that adds to the experience. Because there are only about 15ish tables inside, the place fills up fast. If you want to avoid a long wait, get there right at opening or just before--there's always a line, and for good reason.

Yelp
really wanted to love this place--at least for the ramen. I first tried it about 8 years ago and wasn't impressed. I recently gave it another shot, but unfortunately, my feelings haven't changed. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, and while the portion was generous, it was overwhelmingly salty and oily. A lot of people seem to swear by this spot, but it just doesn't do it for me. Honestly, I think there are much better ramen options in the area. Service was good though.

Yelp
Heard many great things about this almost hole in the wall spot for Japanese food. The place almost seems like a house turned into a restaurant, smack in the middle of a suburban neighborhood. Has a big parking lot on the side. The menu is diverse and the portions are big for the lunch price, and the place feels homey. However I don't feel like the food is that authentic. Broiled Squid- Served whole on a plated, cut into slices. Decent taste and comes with sauce on the side, but I think this is an average dish, not the most flavorful or the most special texture wise. 3/5 Umani Ramen- Comes with an almost gravy-like texture of (shoyu?) soup with a bunch of condiments including seafood, ginger, half a hard boiled egg, veggies, and a whole bunch of mushrooms. Like, a whole bunch of mushroom. Unless youre an absolute mushroom lover, you'll get tired of these mushroom after a few bites of this. Was hoping for way more seafood than the 2 pieces of shrimp in this bowl. Also, the way it's thrown together reminds me of Chinese noodle places actually. The portion of this is gigantic though. 2/5 Omelet Rice with Pork Cutlet- my favorite one out of the three. The curry is thick and flavorful, and goes well with the egg and the cutlet. Some parts of the pork is considered dry, and the outer fried layer sometimes easily separates from the pork. This dish is also gigantic. 4/5

Yelp
The No.17 ramen is delicious! Creamy, garlicky, and with a little bit of a ginger kick. This is a very basic restaurant as far as looks go. You can tell that they put their time and effort into the food and not into the decor. But, everything is serviceable and clean! Make sure you get there before it opens. We arrived at 5pm and, by the time it opened at 5:30, there was already a significant line.
