Necessary Minnesota State Fair Foods | Eater Twin Cities

"I head to the Food Building for fresh, squeaky cheese curds shipped in by the truckload; they also batter and deep-fry curds to a crusty exterior and molten, oozy interior that’s irresistible (and likely to cause a mouth burn)." - Joy Summers

Kieran’s Kitchen Northeast teams with Ian Gray for new Food Building restaurant | Eater Twin Cities

"In Northeast Minneapolis the Food Building serves as an incubator-style hub that houses multiple makers and will be home to Kieran’s Kitchen Northeast; it includes vendors such as Red Table Meats, Alemar Cheese, and Baker’s Field breads, and Kieran Folliard is an owner in the building at large." - Joy Summers

Restaurant Inside Northeast’s Food Building Is Closing | Eater Twin Cities

"I learned that the Food Building, housed in the same dark red structure that opened several food tenants in December 2015, is shifting its focus toward catering and announced that change in a Facebook post; this pivot was cited as the reason behind Draft Horse's December 30 closure and led the restaurant to conclude there was no clear path for both businesses to prosper. The building originally hosted tenants including Lone Grazer Creamery and Red Table Meats." - Joy Summers

The Food Building is an absolutely excellent place in Minneapolis. The local talent is spotlighted here. The coffee shop is wonderful and the staff is so polite. The meeting spaces are large and offer all the appropriate AV needs for an offsite meeting. The place is stunningly clean and there’s plenty of street parking with easy walking distance.

The best bread in the twin cities. The place seems to be expensive, but it is worth it. Ham egg cheese sandwich - out of this world. Coffee on point. A half a pound of their royal ham will get you way farther than 3 pounds of commercial lunchmeat.

The Food Building was a dream venue for our wedding reception. The space is stunning, functional, and the food (not unsurprisingly) fantastic. Our guests kept saying how perfect it was for a smaller wedding reception like ours and seriously couldn't stop talking about the food. Additionally, planning a wedding is stressful. Katie took the stress out of it - she helped us make decisions, was proactive about seating, menu, etc. I felt so at ease after meeting with her to go over details. Usually on the day of the event, something always goes a little awry, but nothing did. Our reception was effortlessly smooth, and that was thanks to Katie's organizational skills and planning. As someone without a day-of coordinator or wedding planner, I was so thankful for Katie's expertise, time, energy, and talents.

My wife and I just had our wedding reception here and Perfect is the only word that kept coming to mind when I started trying to sum up my experience. However everything was too good to accurately describe with the word perfect. Setting up our event was totally stress free. The staff was so professional and helpful and kind. I could keep going but I want to get to the food before you get bored and stop reading. It was roll your eyes back into your head delicious. And we kept our menu simple. Every expectation I had was exceeded by orders of magnitude and I had high expectations. Do your event here. You will not regret it.

An amazing space, food and staff! We held a happy hour at FOOD BUILDING for clients and potential clients. An outstanding experience! Katie was a pleasure to work with and handled our every need. Food and drinks were top notch. I love that they are locally sourced and baked, butchered, cured, and crafted onsite (and you can see where it's done)! The Irish Whiskey tasting was outstanding too. Such a unique venue. Highly recommend!

My new wife and I held our wedding and reception at the Food Building and the experience could not have been better. The staff is top notch and committed to making the experience awesome for you and your guests. It is such a unique setting with the ability to really customize the space to make it even more intimate and personal. You really can't go wrong hosting your wedding or event at the Food Building!

We attended a celebration of life here and it was really neat. We had flowers delivered a day early that was not as we ordered. Casey was so very nice to help us fix to look more presentable. She went over and beyond for us and we very much appreciated it. I would recommend the building to many for all sorts of events. Great job to all at the Food Building!

A most enjoyable experience was had by a group of 70, in early January. *We ranged in age from 6 to 95. *We came from all over the global, religious, political and professional spectra- friends and family, closing out the Christmas season. The staff at The Food Building were professional and so helpful, complimented by the staff at the neighbouring Draft Horse restaurant, who catered the amazing food- unique tastes, freshness and flavourful. The ambiance is conducive to business conferences, private parties and family gatherings. Truly unique and well suited to the up and coming dynamic North East Minneapolis region. Easily accessible to all locations in the Twin Cities. Absolutely no problem with parking. We had a three piece performance group- traditional Irish music. The setting allowed for enjoyment of the music, a little dancing, and/or quiet conversation. In summary, a truly 5 star Food Building! Jim Fahy

Yelp
The best, most kind and attentive staff in NE. We were about to leave since we felt bad about ordering close to their closing time and the gal at the counter gave us a bunch of free samples and invited us to visit them again. The pastries were bomb and the vibe was friendly. We will definitely be back

Yelp
Had a great lunch here with my niece. Food was excellent. The breakfast sandwich I had was superb. Fluffy eggs. Delicious meat. Bread was exceptional as well.

Yelp
Went to the "Island of Misfit Makers" local artist sale that was held here. Three unique rooms to shop in. Really cool building with interesting lighting, huge metal sliding doors, and even glass garage doors that look like they open in the summer. The creamery, bakery and butcher weren't open while we were there, but there are big windows you can peek in. Looks like a neat place to tour.

Yelp
My work team came here for a tour then had lunch next door, it was close to downtown and a fun morning. Sadly the cheese processor at the food building has stopped operations but you can see their bread making and sausage production. As a warning though you do see the full butchering of the hogs (not slaughter though) so if you are vegetarian or sensitive you might not enjoy the tour. Our tour guide was so excited and knowledgeable about the building that he made it really enjoyable, you can do self guided tours (they have great signs that tell you all of the info) but I recommend scheduling a guided one if you can. Overall what I think I liked most about the space was how adorable it was, this would be a great space to rent for a small event, a birthday, retirement party, maybe small wedding etc... I would check it out if you want a unique venue in the city.
