The 19 Best Restaurants In Napa - Napa - The Infatuation

"If Giada de Laurentiis and Goop Kitchen teamed up for a culinary venture, the outcome would be Foodshed. Off the highway, on a street you might miss, you’ll find a casual, takeout-focused Italian counter pumping out square-shaped pizza slices with potatoes and prosciutto, sauced-up meatball sandwiches, and one of the best slices of carrot cake in the valley. It’s dangerously easy to fill an entire trunk with everything you need (including wine) for a five-course dinner party or an upscale picnic in the park in under 10 minutes. Everything is pre-prepared and ready to eat (or reheat), but there’s plenty of space inside the rustic building if you want to stick around. We like to grab a patio table outside and share a farro salad and frittata sandwich, if they haven’t sold out for the day." - christina julian, lani conway, jasmine alexandra

Google
I typically like this place well enough. It is consistent. I made the mistake of ordering through DoorDash out of convenience and they sent the order with items missing. Plus instead of the typical flatbread, they sent a version covered in some green paste that we did not expect or ask for. They didn’t even notify me first about the missing item. They just sent out the order. So what now, one of us doesn’t eat!? I called to find out why and their response was very unenthusiastic and paired a very tepid apology. I even told them I’m a regular there. They also informed me that they haven’t had that item in a long time like it was my fault for ordering it. Ummm… is that really what a customer wants to hear? At the least I expected them to offer to do something like making up the missing item next time I was in or something, but NOTHING, just an “oh well” attitude. If you cannot provide delivery services well, then don’t do it. Terrible!

Google
A friend introduced me to this little place to get me to avoid the fast food drive-through. I can't tell you how much I love this place. The chefs, the meal prep, and the quality of the food and service are just amazing. Feels like you are being asked to sit down at one of your family friends' big kitchen table. Picnic tables inside make it fun to meet your local peeps or someone just passing through. Come make some stories over a healthier option.

Google
Hidden gem. Some of the best artisanal pizza we have ever had. The homemade sourdough crust elevates the pizza overall flavor profile. They have a wonderful to go case filled with lasagnas, pastas, tiramisu, and all kinds of fun stuff that you can take home and Heat. They come in both small and large sizes. There’s also a delightful selection of salads and pastries. This is a wonderful go to for those nights. You don’t wanna cook or you Need help getting food on the table for a party.

Google
I order the braised pork and lasagna. The pork with potatoes in the past was delicious however something has changed. Potatoes and pork were always bite size pieces and it marinated in the sauce. This time pork was tasteless thick and fatty sliced and the potatoes were big tasteless chunks. The sauce was the same. Dish was very disappointing. We haven't tried the lasagna, I hope it is good.

Google
Oh My Goodness... Yes sooo good! Picked up the seasonal corned beef and cabbage, with potatoes and carrots today! Yummy, Yum, Yum! Thank you for the most wonderful St. Paddy's eve (leftovers for tomorrow) dinner! Delicious! I didn't even think to take a photo, too good to stop eating.

Google
We ordered two slices of different kinds of pizza and another dish(don't remember the name). The price for the slices seemed a little high until we were served. The slice was equal to the size of 2 regular slices, so it was worth it. Everything tasted really good! The only disappointment was that for leftovers, the crust became pretty hard and microwaving didn't help either. Photos coming soon.. they're on another phone

Google
I enjoyed their pizza options, they were all good. I also tried some pastries. Their carrot cake was great, the brownie was OK, and the chocolate cake could be a bit fresher. The staff were nice and friendly. They had some refrigerated food options and wines too. I enjoyed my experience and will go back.

Google
Really cool takeaway spot! It’s like a mart/pizzeria that serves hot pizza, frozen pastas, wines, liquor, and other random things. The pizza is fresh and tasty. Burrata slices are served with cheese on the side which I appreciated. The arugula prosciutto was a bit too saucy as the arugula is tossed with a vinaigrette. Caramelized four cheese was probably my favorite - loved the sweetness of the onions. They also have a decent selection of gluten free desserts. Prices are fair; $26 for the entire box. You can mix and match or get one type for the same price.

Yelp
Food- The food is a mix of Old School Italian and upscale Deli. We tried fresh food they prepared for us, and took home some of their take and bake/heat at home items. Everything was great. They use a pizza crust for the bread for their sandwiches. It's just crispy enough, but has a great chew so thin you can enjoy the sandwich ingredients instead of bread. Service - Typical counter service. Staff was friendly and offered GF suggestions for my wife. It was very slow when we arrived but everyone was busy doing something. Ambiance - It's in a strip center. It's country style decor on the inside is like typical Napa touristy place and it's grab and go if you need it.

Yelp
Foodshed Takeaway in Napa is a bustling spot, and it's no wonder--their array of take away options is impressive! Can dine in or takeout, perfect to grab and go on your trip into Napa County. From salads to sandwiches, there's something for everyone. And don't even get me started on the desserts--absolutely divine! Plus, they have a large selection of wine. While the wait can be a bit long due to their popularity, the fresh quality and variety of food make it worth it. Opt for the pizza options with plenty of vegetables for flavor!

Yelp
It was a mixed experience. We picked up a few salads and pizza for a quick and late lunch bite. The pizza is partially made, and then baked for you when you order. Possibly because of this, I just felt the pizza was not super fresh. It's a good selection of salads. But some them of were more flavorful, like the beet salad compared to the sweet potato salad. We ate our meal on a wooden bench outside. The first person who took our order was not friendly or helpful. But then the person who followed up was great about checking with us and coming outside to get us the rest of our order.

Yelp
This is one of the best pizza places I've been at. I tasted good quality pizza in every bite. The toppings were amazing in all four slices. Everything I tried was 10/10. I recommend getting the sampler 4 slices if you're in a group so you taste the different toppings they offer. Our group got the arugula salad which was pretty darn good, going to try to recreate it! They had pastries and even water right where you enter. They had samplers to try of the pastries and it was delicious. GET THE LEMON BAR OR BROWNIE. They have a fridge section with meals like pizza, salads, beer, wine, to take home also. I will definitely be back when I'm in Napa because this was such an good spot! It is small inside but there's parking which is always a plus.

Yelp
This is such a cute little spot in the middle of Napa. We came during lunch time and we missed the crowd by a few minutes thankfully! The person who took our order was really sweet and happy to explain the different types of pizzas they offer! We got 4 "slices" to share but really it was 16 pieces since they cut it up in 4's. The food was incredible!!! The pizza and salad was AMAZING! The arugula salad with salami and prosciutto was my favorite!! I usually stay away from salads but this was was so delicious and fresh. The pizzas we got were good too! I asked for some red pepper flakes and they gave me that as well as some minced red peppers which was also amazing!! *they don't have ranch, but it didn't need it!

Yelp
Wow! I really can't say enough about foodshed take away! I was really impressed with what I thought was going to be just a regular quick service kind of restaurant. But they serve huge slices of pie for a reasonable amount with high-quality ingredients. Not only that, but they have a wide range of delicious baked goods, and for those who are gluten-free, you can find something here too that will make you really happy. FOOD: I tried a few different things here. Had to have the pepperoni pizza, which was delicious! There's really different pepperoni. It's far more like sausage, but the flavor is wonderful. And the slices are huge! Honestly, I thought for a niche place like this I was going to get half of what I received for the same price. It still would've been worth it! Also, tried the potato pizza which was delicious was fresh but not as great cold. Still, I would definitely recommend it if you've never had it. also tried a couple of their big goods which were really great. Had a chocolate chip cookie which had a nice crunch, but still soft in the middle. Also had a shortbread cookie which was different than your traditional walkers shortbread, but it still tasted great. Definitely that homemade flavor. I also love that they have gluten-free options because it makes it so much easier to find some thing for everybody. SERVICE: service was quick, but not as engaging as I thought it would be. It's not that they weren't nice, but just very uncommunicative. Still, they packaged everything great and the portions were wonderful so really, no complaints here. COST: for the price, it's amazing that they're still open! They charge very reasonable prices for high-quality food that taste wonderful. How can you ask for anything more?

Yelp
The most amazing takeaway meals and salads. We are in love with their beef ir chicken canneloni and meatballs. Desserts are also delicious and worth the visit alone. You can stop in and grab a family meal, couples meal, or singles meal from the large fridge area or order it heated for pick up if you call 15 min ahead or more ( schedule pickup) Amazingly they offer hot or heat at home meal delivery for $5 for close range or $10 long distance delivery within a certain range... There is seating outdoors and an indoor cafe area if you choose to order and eat in. We make Food Shed a part of our napa lifestyle

Yelp
Great food, speedy service and a clean and organized place of business. I love that they've added seating inside and out! It's our go to local take out gem for sure!!

Yelp
Really good sandwich. Expensive. On brand for Napa. Go here if you want to take food home and bake it. Looked delicious

Yelp
Really tasty pizza and good portion for the price! LOVE the shaved brussel lemon salad, I had that at a catered event years ago and have been craving it since, so happy to have found it!! Good vibe and few outside tables which was perfect.

Yelp
Absolute nasty. Four cheese was ugh! The girl at the counter acted like I did her a favor for coming in.

Yelp
Great place to grab some lunch. My favorite is the meatball tasca. I also enjoy the chicken alla cacciatore tasca, the rosemary aioli is phenomenal. When I don't have time I just stop by the refrigerated section and pickup something to eat. The selection of side dishes is great.

Lori D.

Yelp
The food here is all fabulous! Everyone is so very helpful here including Chef/owner! Love to come here for take out.
google avatar

Yelp
This was our second visit and we decided to grab some to-go items (meatballs and pizzas). Everything was just okay....maybe they taste better when cooked and served fresh? The polenta almond cake looked better than it tasted. It was dry and bland. The one thing we enjoyed was the huge side of bread (sourdough?) that came with the meatballs. We enjoyed dipping it in the meatball sauce.

Yelp
Coming from out of town this place had fabulous service. Quick and friendly. The assortment of pizza was amazing with wonderful sweets to snack on after eating. The wine and beverage selection was on point.

Yelp
Today I hosted a meeting with business Associates at my home and had foodshed cater the event. We had both delicious manicotti, two fantastic salads and a great selection of lemon bars and chocolate chip walnut bars. Everybody was raving that I felt like a home-cooked meal. versus the typical Sandwich/potato chips catered lunch meal. Highly recommend this. Way to go Holmes!!!!

Yelp
I just tried this place yesterday. Good & friendly service, good food. Got the stone fruit salad and bacon pizza to go. They asked me if I wanted my pizza heated up. It was still warm after a 20 min drive home. They have a regular menu, as well as daily specials. They have a fridge with food you can take and heat up at home, or ready to eat stuff at the counter. I saw a good amount of desserts, and a decent selection of a few pizzas and salads at the counter. They also sell dry goods and a substantial amount of wine and drinks. I noticed a few picnic tables outside the restaurant by the parking lot. The stone fruit salad in a medium size and 1 slice of bacon pizza (with lemon aioli) was yummy. It cost me $19. They have a great mission as well! I will be returning!

Ben M.

Yelp
If I could give their pizza 0 stars, I would. No passion in this pizza. Little Caesar's seems to have more quality. The sauce.... I think they just use the most basic tomato sauce that doesn't even utilize the most simple seasonings. Also, stop putting goat cheese on almost every pizza. I feel like they are trying too hard to be different. Sometimes, don't try to re-invent the wheel or realize when reinventing the wheel is not working...

Yelp
Very good Italian takeout. Their soups and pizzas are very tasty. They also have nice salads available.

Yelp
Delicious take-out opportunity! Will be honest that I have never been inside, usually order a to go for late workdays. The several times I have had their food, primarily their pizzas, they have been great, whether it's their burrata or prosciutto. Price point is what you can expect in Napa, but honestly, it's affordable compared to a downtown restaurant. I've been told that orders are usually fired out on time with not much delay, so that is always a plus. While they do have more than just pizza's, it seems most just come for that, but I would not be opposed to explore their menu in the future if it's as good as their pizza. Short, sweet, and to the point.

Yelp
Food Shed kindly catered my daughter's birthday party on a day's notice. I requested 40 individually boxed sandwiches in the interest of Covid safety and was okay with the extra cost ($10.50 vs $9 per person). What I was not okay with at all was having a huge price tag on each of the boxes staring our guests in the face. People were asking us whether we expected to be reimbursed and it was frankly embarrassing. At the same time, 1/3 of the sandwiches had no label at all, so no one knew what they were. I left another star because the sandwiches themselves were awesome! I hate to say this because they also helped us on short notice, but I wish I'd made my own sandwiches and saved myself $400+ and some embarrassment.

Yelp
We all love hidden gems, and although this may no longer be one, people tend to forget about it with all the bigger businesses coming into Napa. But Foodshed Take Away is hard to forget once you have had it. Location is great and the staff is always friendly and welcomes you with a smile. There are a ton of options here. Want to grab a slice of pizza? No problem. Looking for something to take home? What will it be -pasta, salad, dessert? Or are you looking for something bigger? Again, no worries. There is something for everyone. Their ready to take foods are just the beginning. If you ever cannot decide what to get, try Foodshed.

Yelp
Excellent food! I could order food here every week! Under salted for my taste so those on reduced salt diet can benefit.

Bryan J.

Yelp
I love this place! A technician at a local hospital turned me on to this eatery. I had to go back and forth to Napa for 9 weeks so I got to know the town pretty well. If you like delicious pizza, sandwiches, salads and pasta, you have to try the Foodshed. They also have wonderful pre-made foods to go! I went there today and got a mix of things, including some tasty treats (the cake slices and blondie/brownies squares are delicious!). The pizza slices are wonderful! It's well worth the 30-minute drive for me.

Linda G.

Yelp
I keep trying this place and I really want to like it. Got their Bolognese Lasagna and so sorry to say it was barely edible. So sorry

Colleen P.

Yelp
Beet salad was perfect along with the cookies but the pizza was not so good. Something has changed. The pizza crust on the cheese pizza was like a cracker completely different from the pepperoni pizza. Both pizzas use to be moist, I think they cooked this pizza too long, when they went to warm it up it was hard. Been going here for years. Sorry the new owners need to check who is cooking. When you use your card to pay in a fast food restaurant should you feel like you need to give a tip. Please take that off your check out. I'm not alone with my thoughts here. Ok...is it possible the young teen saw I didn't give her a tip and she never warmed up my pizza properly.
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
Ughhhhh I'm so disappointed. I was looking forward to coming here the most on our recent trip to Napa, but two of the four types of pizza we got for the pizza tray were completely missing toppings! And by the time we got back to our hotel and realized, the restaurant was already closed. The prosciutto was missing the arugula. And the pepperoni was missing the roasted fennel. Not sure how you miss half the toppings on two different types of pizza. Next time I'll 100% check everything is there before driving away.....

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Italian sandwich was delicious and could have fed two people easily. Quality products and good combination, the relish is the bomb.
google avatar

Christie C.

Yelp
This is such a cute little place w a family ambiance and great food! I love the refrigerated case where you can take away pizzas and desserts and soups. I had their special pizza of the day - crust was nice and thin and fluffy and crispy w fresh veggies on top. Excellent service even though we came in toward the end of the day - we were not rushed out the door at all. Generous portions for single slices of pizza and interesting varieties.
google avatar

Carmina R.

Yelp
With all that wine tasting, there's nothing like a thick sourdough crust pizza or two to just soak it all up! My friend told me about Foodshed, but first time I walked in... I wasn't really feeling it. There's a lot of items to choose from and I think I just overwhelmed and overall hangry haha. Fast forward to the next visit where I actually bought some pizza to enjoy with the fam under a tree outback and savored whatever was left of late Fall before winter really kicks in. The daily slices of pizza rotate, but they usually have about 4-5 to choose from. So far, our favorites are the 4 cheese and caramelized onions and the sausage and fennel. The beet salad with peaches was so refreshing and filling! It was the perfect compliment to the sourdough crust. Dine outdoors or take the food to go, or even grab some pasta and pizza to take and bake at home. Lots of options for food, desserts, and wine even.. be ready to make some decisions. We'll be back next time we're up there!
google avatar

Brianna B.

Yelp
The food here is so fresh and available in grab and go containers for lunch on the run. Their pizza is not only delicious but great value! Also the desserts are scrumptious

Eddar F.

Yelp
The pizzas and Caesar salad are delicious. Flavors are tasty and not overpowering on the dressings. Highly recommend. Service is quick and it has a nice ambiance as well. Clean location.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
Great options of salads such as farro and beet salads. They have potato mozzarella béchamel pizza and four cheese with caramelized onions, fig, blue cheese, onion, mozzarella, arugula and lemon, also pepperoni, red onion, fennel but our favorite is burrata pizza! Yes we will be back!
google avatar

Darryl C.

Yelp
Wow, would've never stumbled upon this place if I wasn't referred by a local and I would've been at a loss. This grab and go restaurant is tucked behind behind Trancas street. They have a nice selection of pizzas, sandwiches, pastas and tempting desserts. I ordered the fried cod sandwich and it was so delicious and fresh. I loved the sauce and veggies smothered over the fish

Yelp
How do you know when a pizza is good? When you literally say mmmmmmm with every bite. That was me and my husband when we tried Foodshed Take Away for the first time last week. We were in the mood for a late lunch of pizza and found this gem through Yelp. Thanks to our fellow Yelpers, I learned that the pizza sampler is a must-try. They didn't steer me wrong. While a single slice of pizza is 6"x6", you get a selection of four pizza slices for the sampler. It might sound like a modest amount, but was enough for two hungry adults and we had leftovers for the next day. We chose the pepperoni, four cheese, prosciutto and burrata pizzas for our sampler. My husband's favorites were the meaty ones and mine was the burrata. Each flavor though was good enough to stand in its own. Together? They're a cornucopia of delight. The ingredients are simple, fresh and satisfying. I had more than my fair share of the pizzas, but never got that bloated feeling that other pizzas trigger. The setting of this place is casual, but charming. You place your order at the counter. If you're dining in, your food will be brought to your table. This place also offers food to go, as its name suggests. We noticed there are several fresh entrees in the refrigerators that you can take home and heat up, like entire lasagnes. There's also a wide selection of wine, beer and other refreshments to choose from. Foodshed Take Away is a great option for a casual meal, a date, a gathering of friends or food to-go for a picnic in one of the many nearby wineries. Cheers!

Andrew B.

Yelp
Arrived at hotel after very long drive. Called these guys for a prosciutto pizza. They were very prompt. Updated me on delivery times. I asked for extra red chili flakes and they delivered. Not a complaint, just an observation. The pizza I ordered was very good but more of a flatbread. Very generous portion. I will use these guys on future Napa trips
google avatar

Javier G.

Yelp
Love their pizza and side dishes! And it's awesome to be able to go for in-store pick up and grab beer or wine while you're at it :-) the pepperoni pizza is my favorite with added, roasted fennel and caramelized onions; and you can't go wrong with their amazing pizza crust! Keep up the good work ! Your body

Yelp
The food shed is a great option if you're looking for some great Italian take away or if you're looking for a healthy lunch option like salmon, salads, soups, sandwiches etc! They're also known for their catering too! I've been to many parties where they've catered in town and it's always so fresh and delicious. They also have seating outside if you want to hangout and eat there. Located right off highway 29.

Kim S.

Yelp
We have had Foodshed for a large party and they were great! Tonight one pizza....it was terrible, cold and nothing like before. So disappointed!

Jarred P.

Yelp
Long long time customer at food shed and I think things have changed. Ordered a prosciutto pizza tonight, used to be one of our favorites, and we were very disappointed. Picked up the pizza and it was room temp at most, small dollops of cheese on each square (looked polka dotted) and prosciutto and arugula on the side rather than on the pizza. Arugula used to be tossed in a citrus/olive oil dressing, but this time it was just dry arugula in a small box under the cold prosciutto. I called and asked why they did it this way and I was told this is how they cook the prosciutto pizza. I've had this pizza 100 times and it never came this way. I guess things have changed here if this is the new norm.
google avatar

Kenny E.

Yelp
We came here on a whim one afternoon and it was great. My wife and I got the pizza sampler, which was pretty good size and reasonably priced. The four flavors we tried were the potato, burrata, prosciutto & arugula, and the pepperoni. They were all great. The potato one was phenomenal.

Steve M.

Yelp
We stumbled onto this place, from out of town, looking for something quick. We were shocked at how good everything was. Very fresh, with some unique flavors and recipes. Everything is done first class, yet it's affordable.
google avatar

Kelley C.

Yelp
I was welcomed by Sean with open arms. First time patron and I was happily toured and explain thoroughly the menu and items to go. This guy was one of the coolest nicest people I've met in the restaurant industry. I'm blown away by the pepperoni pizza I ordered. The Chocolate chip walnut cookie was very good. To be honest everything looks so good and fresh. Many items to go to bake in your own oven. I wish I lived closer this would be my go to!
google avatar

Margie M.

Yelp
This side dish is described as having "arugula, olive oil, peaches, burrata". As you can see I got one arugula leaf. No olive oil. By peaches, they gave me a 1/2 of a whole peach (not sliced). Which I guess is what they meant by "peaches". Very disappointing. I envisioned sliced peaches on bed of arugula, topped with burrata then a drizzle of olive oil. Based on their previous presentations of similar side dishes. My error in interpreting their online description? I called asking for a credit on my bill because side dish was missing ingredients. They said no refund; was told instead I could drive back and they would give me some arugula. Yeah no thanks.

Samara C.

Yelp
Always delicious and the staff are always nice! We LOVE their pizza, Sunday sauce with fresh pasta, the Caesar salads and balsamic pork loin dinner! We also like the chicken and polenta-- pretty much everything!

Yelp
Great food, convenient and nice staff!!! Easy to order for family, work, events. Hjhhvvvtdcnjjiy

Yelp
This is a nice hot-dish takeaway store in Napa with pizzas (reheated upon order), desserts, beverages/wine/coffee, and aluminum trays of food you can take back home to warm up. If you're looking to have a casual dinner back in your suite/hotel, this is a great place. The interior is very modern and feels like a contemporary Italian convenience store. We ordered the pizza, which was delicious and worth buying, but not the best pizza you can find. Fun bonus: If you're looking for a cold, carbonated drink, I would recommend buying a bottle of the Chinotto, which is an Italian soft drink that tastes similar to a carbonated plum/citrus juice.

E D.

Yelp
The BEST BURRATA PIZZA EVER!! You will not be disappointed. I have been coming here for years and just want to show my support by leaving a good review. It's so good they have to stay in Napa forever.
