Rosa Duffy’s rare and classic Black literature bookstore doubles as a reading room and community hub. Featured by The New York Times and Atlanta Magazine, it honors Auburn Avenue’s cultural legacy with carefully curated shelves.
FKB is an amazing book store and space for community building!! You can find amazing vintage books that inspire deep thinking. The curation of the store is impeccable. And the people in there are so nice!

Great bookstore and reading room specializing in Black books, records, and paraphernalia. You can spend a good amount of time looking at everything, listening to the music, and/or talking to folks sitting at the center reading table.
I picked up an incredible hard-back Langston Hughes book of poetry and design inspiration on my last trip (see photo). Recommended.

This place feels like home. It is a treasure trove of beauty, history and culture that feels endless. I can't wait to experience For Keeps with my family so they can explore with me.

Absolutely love this place. The owner Rosa is incredible! She’s super passionate and knowledgeable and has created an incredible place of learning. You can go here to buy some historical texts, or just to sit and read them. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Overall the store is awesome. They have many amazing books to choose from. My only reason for not making this a five stars is because my experience with one staff member. I was there when they opened and the door was already unlocked. So we had walked in and looked around for a bit. As we introduced our self, she made the unnecessary comment on how we walked in the store before her. This is my first time so didn’t even know they were still closed. It was more a mistake on their end , we were just coming to look and enjoy ourselves. It’s about how you say things not what you say. However owner seemed nice. Didn’t really speak because that comment threw me off completely. We’re supporting not breaking in.

Yelp
Closed. Showed up and the book was locked. Doesn't look totally empty but don't rely on the posted hours

Yelp
What's there not to love about a unique bookstore in the heart of ATL?!
For Keeps is a quaint bookstore with a variety of used and new books. They have areas where you can read there and enjoy the company of other book enthusiast. The owner is so sweet and very knowledgeable. She is so welcoming and the ambiance of the bookstore makes you want to stay there forever. The layout is beautiful and not intimidating like some of the chain bookstores. The prices are so reasonable that I bought myself some good books and even bought gifts for some family members. Go get some books from here.. you won't regret it!

Yelp
I visited For Keeps Bookstore last weekend with my good friend and immediately feel in love with the space, the books and the energy in the space. Roser offers such a unique experience in the heart of Atlanta and on one of the most historical streets in Black history. The space is beautifully-decorated and the chairs are so comfortable! The selection of books
She has an area where you can sit and read some very iconic books in the store and she also has books that have been signed displayed all along the walls and for sale. Think James Baldwin, Nikki Giovanni, etc. Lastly, her collection of Jet Magazines is to die for! An actual Black Mecca and safe space to just be and enjoy yourself. I will certainly be back to visit.

Yelp
BLACK BUSINESS at its finest!
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. This book store is owned by a young black woman who is clearly in love with literature and promoting cultural awareness through text. This location has a bunch of old cultural texts as well like Ebony magazines and news articles. Take your time out to visit this this place off of Auburn Ave. if you have a free day!

Yelp
Literally, this place is equivalent to Heaven on Earth. It's full of so many treasures and great finds! There's room to both purchase and enjoy read-only publications/books in-store. There's a dynamic sense of progressiveness; hope in the air. For Keeps is hands down my favorite bookstore in the City of Atlanta.
