The food was typical for brunch! I ordered the mushroom benedict and my boyfriend ordered the bison hash. They were both yummy, but nothing extraordinary or special :) The servers were all very sweet and kind though! Overall, we don’t think we would come back, but still enjoyed our time there!

3.5/5 stars My husband and I visited Forage for breakfast, eager to try it out due to its popularity. While it was a decent experience, it didn't quite live up to the hype for us. We had a 10:30 am reservation, which turned out to be close to their closing time. The restaurant was practically empty, and the staff seemed eager to wrap things up. We'd recommend avoiding reservations too close to closing time for a more vibrant atmosphere. The ambiance was plain and simple, lacking a unique touch. However, the service was warm and friendly, even if not exceptional. The food was delicious, with generous portions. We enjoyed the Roasted Mushroom Benedict and Classic Breakfast, but they didn't leave a lasting impression. Overall, Forage is a solid choice for breakfast, but it didn't blow us away. Worth trying once, but not necessarily a must-return destination.

Overall, I really enjoyed the brunch food here. The eggs were super fresh and cooked to perfection. I was pleasantly surprised by the bison hash which was perfectly seasoned. The dishes had good, big portion sizes and the meals felt hearty and filling. I was most excited about the twice cooked potatoes, but they weren't as crispy as described and came with an off-puttingly sweet ketchup. Also, beware that if you sit in the patio area on a nice day, it gets unbearably hot with no shade so you should opt to sit indoors. Lots of street parking available in this area. We were able to find a spot right out front on a Sunday at 10am.

We came here for dinner,it was a great experience! The oysters are fresh and tasty,my husband loves them so much. The duck plate is perfect, too. Servers are friendly and professional. Love it!

Google
Food was good. I found the shakshuka and breakfast plate to be just average, but I really enjoyed the french toast. The duck egg custard in the french toast was delicious and pairs really well with the chocolate sauce. The pearls and blueberries on top were interesting but we still enjoyed it regardless.

Google
Had an amazing anniversary dinner. The server was very pleasant and helpful with menu suggestions. We tried a number of dishes - definitely a place to share food. The pan bread, the Bison steak and the gnocchi were delicious, including the cheese puff dessert.

Google
A wonderful breakfast at Forage today. Superb service from friendly and welcoming staff, happy to help but not “in your face”. I had the bison hash and Sarah had turkey sausages, both with plenty of toast and vegetables - will keep us full for the day. And all very reasonably priced compared to most. Will return if we have time!

Google
We came to Forage and were excited to try the food. The server was very welcoming and attentive. We got some oysters to share, as well as a clam chowder with prawn toast. The clam chowder was quite small for the price and they put the prawn toast inside the soup. I was hoping they would put it on the side so it wouldn’t get soggy, but the flavor of the prawn toast was delicious. We got the bison board and it looked amazing - but some of the items on there fell short. The carpaccio and brussels sprouts tasted amazing. The chili was unfortunately cold and the flavor wasn’t great. Some of the meat were tender but others were quite chewy. The ribs were meaty but we found it had way too much BBQ sauce.

Yelp
Delicious as always and every ingredient is from BC.! A "do jot miss!" in Vancouver. Will not disappoint.

Yelp
A classy spot for food all day. Came here for breakfast/brunch on a weekday where its not as busy. Service was good, we had multiple people come by asking if we needed anything. Smoked salmon benny - I will preface with saying that bennys are not my favourite menu item for brunch. I've had my fair share and I would not put this anywhere close to my favourite... The egg was cooked well, but most of the plate was flavourless. The inhouse smoked salmon was not very strong in flavour. The potatoes were underseasoned and were not crispy...

Yelp
Classic Breakfast ($19.5) 5/10 Two eggs, sausage, bacon, twice baked potatoes, and bread. Scrambled eggs was somewhat dey and I really dislike the bread they gave us (they said it was sourdough but it's more like a white bread?). Potatoes also weren't as crispy as possible. Bison Hash ($25) 7/10 House cured corned bison, sauerkraut, kale, sunny side up, IPA mustard hollandaise, sourdough. Personally really enjoyed the bison, however I got feedbacks from my friends that it was too salty and cured for some of them. Mushroom Benedict ($21) 6.5/10 Classic bennie dish with roasted mushrooms. The mushrooms were yummy but the overall dish was just decent. French Toast ($19) 7.5/10 Given the relatively classic takes on all their savoury dishes, I was pleasantly surprised with their version of french toast, which includes salted duck yolk custard, house nutella, ginger pearls, black plum compote, and condensed milk. I thought it would be too sweet but the compote and ginger actually help balance everything out. Scones ($12.5) 6/10 Raspberry orange scone. A little bit dry and not buttery enough. It was just average, would recommend getting scones from proper bakery instead.

Yelp
Mushroom eggs Benedict is the way to go here! The egg was a perfect soft poach. The mushrooms were umami and plentiful. The service was a bit rushed which was unfortunate as that affected the overall experience.

Yelp
I came to downtown Vancouver for a vacation, but nothing brings me back home to Houston like the taste of the unfiltered tap water they served me. And the Bison Hash needed some extra seasoning on the potatoes (Btw: There are no salt and pepper shakers on any of the tables for whatever reason, despite that nearly every breakfast restaurant in the world has them). If you're visiting downtown Vancouver, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Yelp
It has been awhile we last ate at this place. I still remember the taste and freshness was unforgettable. The forage concept was not new, but not too many restaurant locally do this. On this outing, bison was on the menu so this was a must try. Lean, but tasty with hints of gaminess, it had clean flavour and the carppacio was a great starter dish. Could have used a bit more seasoning but the flavour of the meat came through well. The two mains we tried was very generous. Bison striploin was cooked well and accompanied by a great salad. We didn't enjoy the bone marrow butter too much, will prefer more sauce instead. The octopus was smokey from the char and tender, super tasty, a great match to the spice. Overall, the food was decent but feels not to the same level as we tried before. However, the service was one thing we were annoyed about. Our waiter was not engaged at all which did not make the meal more enjoyable.

Yelp
Stopped by for brunch! Cute airy space. We got the scones to share, and I got the duck confit cassoulet. Scones came out nice and warm and the honey butter was beautiful. Cassoulet was on the pricier side ($26) but it was a lot of food and very filling! Loved the crispy duck skin and the over easy egg.

Yelp
I got dinner for takeout at Forage. I tried the sablefish and pomme puree. It was good. Pricey as expected. The restaurant looks good.

Yelp
Delicious brunch and great service. We got the turkey hash, pancakes, salmon eggs Benedict and the pork belly Benedict. We also got the fresh squeezed orange juice and a cappuccino. Now the cappuccino isn't as strong as I'm used to in WA so I was able to put 1 sweetener and it was perfect. The salmon Benedict also wasn't the best salmon ive ever had, but it was still good. Potatoes though? 10/10. Pancakes were super fluffy and actually not too sweet. The pork in the pork belly Benedict was also cooked very well.

Yelp
Bison anyone? Recently dined @foragevancouver for the first time and was not let down. We arrived at around 7:30pm Friday evening without a reservation, thankfully they had a table that was able to accommodate us. The customer service was great, our server made sure to always check up on us, and she was super personable. The dimmed lights and candles also set a nice mood. We opted for the $59 "Best of BC" menu which included an appetizer, entree, and dessert. We also added on fresh oysters and a chowder to the course which was $10/each. Overall I think the tasting menu is really good value if you're a smaller group and want to try a variety of dishes. The food was all very well done, and we were stuffed at the end of our meal. Fresh BC Oysters 10/10 The oysters were delicious. Super fresh and sweet. This add-on came with 3 different kinds of oysters. Great sampler! Sablefish & Scallop Chowder 6/10 The chowder was packed with scallops and smoked sablefish, abd the texture of the chowder was rich and creamy. However I just found it to be a bit too salty for my liking. Bison Carpaccio 10/10 The bison was super tender and sliced nice and thin. It was paired with fresh parmesan, pickled mustard seeds, soups vide egg yolk, and sourdough crisps. There was no gaminess to the bison at all and the dish was well balanced. Albacore Tuna 7/10 The tuna was seared just right, and the kelp aioli worked well with the tuna. The dish was good but nothing special in my opinion. Bison Steak 8.5/10 The bison was super tender and moist. There was not gaminess, honestly this was better than 80% of beef cuts I've had. The chimichurri added some nice flavour to each bite, and the squash a nice zing. I liked that the bison wasn't super fatty. A very well done and surprisingly light entree which satisfied my protein craving Golden Eagle Sablefish 7.5/10 The sablefish was very moist, and the fish skin was nice and crispy. However, it was nothing that blew me away. The maitake mushroom tempura it was paired with was my favourite thing about the dish. Rice had a nice flavour but was too salty and sweet for me. Chocolate Pound Cake 10/10 The best chocolate cake I've had ever.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast based on the good reviews and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is nice and quiet and the ambiance is casual. We had two different types of hash, French toast and the scones. Ingredients were fresh and the flavors shined.

Yelp
I'll miss the ketchup the most. Kidding but not kidding. It tastes like real tomatoes and is delicious. The scones too - are wildly expensive (I've seen multiple price increases since my first visit) but tasty. The food is always great. Really consistent, great flavors, etc. The service is really hit or miss. Sometimes it seems like an hour before you can flag for assistant like a condiment or a water refill and other times it's passable.

Yelp
Been very satisfied with all the restaurants I have visited for Dine Out Vancouver Festival this year, but Forage has to be my most memorable one for 2024! We ordered the Country Pate + Pumpkin Panna Cotta + Chocolate Ganache + Salmon + Hanger Steak. Every single dish was flawless! Incredible flavours from different cultures that just blends together so well. The main dishes was our highlight with the deliciously spiced risotto that comes with the salmon. And the hanger steak was THE BEST hanger steak I ever had! It was tender and soo flavourful yet kept that meat 'oomph' taste! I would highly recommend making a visit here!

Yelp
Nick served me. It was very good. I expected the place to be a bit busier. Walked right in on a Thursday in July and enjoyed a full meal and excellent attention. The food was fresh local ingredients and superb mix of flavors. Special place with a local connection. Lots of focus and people working hard to be the best in the neighborhood for the type of food it is. Try it out. New! More ways to react to reviews.

Yelp
Forage was on our way to Stanley Park from our hotel, it was perfect. We chose to walk there which was quite lovely. The place is very warm with a lot of wood in the design. The staff is is friendly and quick. The food is super delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, scrambled, the bacon was thick and the potatoes were perfect. The eggs Benedict, Loralee's meal, were also perfectly prepared. She ordered them medium.

Yelp
Guests at the Listel Hotel get a 10 percent discount, so since we're staying at the hotel, we figured why not try it out. The mushroom omelette went heavy on the goat cheese and was stuffed with an assortment of mushrooms. I switched out the potatoes for turkey sausage for an extra 2 bucks. My bf was also happy with his Classic Breakfast. The 2 dishes we got were nothing exceptionally memorable, but still a solid fill-up on the way out.

Yelp
We had one of the best dinners we have ever had last night at Forage. We had the Best of BC 4 course dinner all for$69 pp. We added an extra starter, the pan bread and we were wowed! It is like the best pizza/pastry, sweet and savory, a must if you go. The first course Tuna Crudo, was delightful, my skeptical husband did not want it but after trying a small bite cleaned his plate. The second course was potato skins or we thought, it was a soup that was creamy and oh so tasty. The main entree we had was the Bison sirloin, cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor. Then they brought out the Pumpkin Panna Cotta, it was well balanced not overly spiced or too sweet. A perfect ending to a wonderful. Highly recommend going to Forage, great food, service, and atmosphere. Looking forward to going back on our next trip to Vancouver

Yelp
Mixed feelings here. We were greeted & seated quickly. Our reservations mattered not, as the place was empty. The server asked my husband how he would like his eggs prepared for eggs Benedict, which was a first. Poached over easy, I suppose? We thought that was how they should always be prepared for that dish but confirmed that that was how we would prefer them to be served. Guess what he got? Over hard. No run in the yolks at all. So, now we were doubly confused. Why ask, if you are not even going to honor the request? We showed the state of the eggs to our server & she just shrugged. The food & service otherwise was solid but not remarkable. Pancakes were thick & fluffy. The hot sauce was very good. We were handed a drink menu that had cocktails, beer & wine but could not order from it, due to local laws. I get it's the law, but why hand out the menu over an hour before service starts? I took a picture in case we decided to return later but we went elsewhere.

Yelp
We came here for brunch and had: -Smoked Salmon Benedict (23$): Pretty solid. Just wish it had been served with some sort of roasted veggie or mixed salad. -Bison Hash (25$): Second favourite thing. Was expecting it to be gamey, but the bison was surprisingly pleasant. Reminded me of Montreal smoked meat or corned meat. Appreciated that it came with some veggies. Only comment was there was quite a bit of butter. -French Toast (19$): This was surprisingly probably my favourite thing. The house-made "nutella" was drool worthy, the slight tartness of the black plum compote helped cut through the delicious heaviness of the salted duck yolk custard and the butter. There were copious amounts of butter, so if that's not your jam (pun intended) I would avoid this dish. Were my arteries sweating after I ate this? Perhaps-but a guilty pleasure worth trying for sure. Overall: the ingredients all tasted fresh, the recipes were for the most part creative twists of what you would expect at a classic brunch spot. They are a bit heavy-handed with the butter (which is smart because it'll appeal to most palates, but might leave you feeling a bit heavy after). A bit conservative with the portions (esp. considering the price) but would definitely recommend.

Yelp
FOOD | Came for brunch. The French Toast ($19) is literally THE best french toast I have ever had in my entire life. I'm such a big fan of salted egg yolk flavoured things, and this french toast was filled with a salted egg yolk custard and topped with ginger-infused tapioca/boba. It was really heavy and sweet, so it is definitely shareable, but I liked it so much that I ate the whole thing LOL. Pleaaaase get this if you come here!! AMBIANCE | It's super nice inside! The interior design reminds me of a high-end hotel restaurant. There weren't a lot of people when we came, so all the parties were pretty spaced out, and it was quiet and we were able to comfortably talk. SERVICE | There were only 2 servers when we came, so sometimes they were hard to find. We had requested sharing plates that we didn't get, and it took a while to flag a server down. Servers themselves were nice, though! VERDICT | French Toast. That's it.

Yelp
I should have known it was too good to be true when I called a couple hours beforehand and was able to get a reservation for five in their garden area on a Friday evening. We were seated, and then it all went downhill. Service: Curt, potentially borderline rude service. The first instance began right when we were seated. The guy told us the special of the day was a morel mushroom stuffed with crab and cream cheese. The second guy told us that their special was a Bison Butcher's block which also included the aforementioned. When he came back to take our order, I said: "I'm sorry can you clarify? The first guy said it was a special, on its own?" He said, "NO! It's with the Butcher block only!" Okay then! We got our soup and bread an hour after we ordered, our entrees an hour and a half after. All the food was lukewarm, so I imagine it had been ready and sitting for awhile. During this time, no one was to be found to ask the status of our food and no one checked in to give us updates. Other tables of two in our area were seated after us, ate, and left. I'll also mention, the restaurant was half empty the entire time we were there. Second instance: We requested separate checks (we are coworkers traveling on business together). One of my coworkers was taking care of the whole check and I again, asked the guy to split it. He said, "He's already taking care of it and it makes my job easier anyway." Wow. Food: - Award winning BBQ duck chowder CAD $14): Lukewarm, so it was clumpy and thick. The flavor was good though. It came with a nice shrimp toast on top. 3.75/5 - Cast iron pan bread (CAD $15): This was the favorite of half the group. This came out relatively hot in the cast iron. 4/5 - Pork Jowl (CAD $24): Totally cold. Not sure if it's supposed to be this way, but it was still pretty good. Crunchy strips of pork jowls with cucumber and greens and pickled shallots. Nice aguachile sauce. 4/5 - Salmon (2 orders, no pic. CAD $36/ea): The first thing my coworker said was "this is cold", followed by "how were we supposed to share this?!" Despite it being cold, the skin was still crispy and the salmon was moist. 3.5/5 - Bison "Butcher's cut" steak (no pic, CAD $48): Also lukewarm. The steak was cooked very rare, but still managed to be tender and flavorful. 4/5 My coworker (who was recommended this restaurant) said if he rated Forage on Yelp, he'd give it one star. I'm feeling pretty generous with two. The extra star is for the food. Although it was all cold, or lukewarm at best, it still had redeeming qualities. Probably would have been much better served hot! Do yourself a favor and pass on this one, unless you are ok with slow, snarky service.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was so good! Apps: we got oyster (very fresh and sweet) and pan bread. The bread was like amazing!! Cheesy, spicy honey crispy on the outside and savory inside. I could eat this all day. For mains: bison steak (very tender amazing chimichuri sauce), gnocchi (delicious slightly crispy chewy inside), halibut (the sauce is good) and aged duck (so tender and flavorful with mushroom and pâté one of my favorite of the night) Everything was a hit and will definitely come back for more!

Yelp
We had THE WORST service with a guy named Michael. He acted like it was an inconvenience for us to be there. He had a tantrum when we didn't tip him well (why would we?) and when we tried to talk to him about it, he asked us to leave
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was very good. We were seated promptly, they also have small little garden and plenty of places inside. We ordered 2 salmon egg benedicts 1 cappuccino 1 english tea Egg benedict was very good. Just a muffin was hard to cut but rest were very good. The only thing that I didn't like that coffee came in very small cup, across the street at PAUL coffee was double size of that for the same price. Also they egg benedicts are higher in price compare to other restaurants that we went.

Yelp
Friendly and attentive service, fresh oysters, and a delicious menu! Not pictured were the bison and elk, which were also excellent.

Yelp
We ate: Cast Iron Pan Bread (local cheddar, spicy honey), Pork Crépinette (Fraser Valley pork coppa, peppercorn sauce, parsley coulis, apple purée, onion cream) , Mushroom Steak (Lion's Mane mushroom, chestnut mushroom, celeriac purée, house onion ring, mushroom jus), Gnocchi (charred savoy cabbage, brown butter crumb, nettle cream, Alpindon cheese), Whiskey Spiked Season Vegetables, Spike Cake (mulled wine poached apples, orange custard, buttermilk gel, pecan crumble, candied orange zest) Start to finish, front to back, great experience on every level and vegetarian friendly! If you are like me, farm-to-table is your go-to criteria for eating in a region you have not been to. For this reason, I picked out Forage for a family dinner during my first visit to Vancouver. Everything we had was just varying degrees of amazing. We started with the Cast Iron Pan Bread which is served in the cast iron. It is warm, sweet and savory, made with local cheddar and spicy honey. It is somewhere in between a mini Detroit style pizza and a sweet fried bread like an apple fritter. From the starters, I assume you should try everything, but do not miss the cast iron bread. Next up we ordered a trio of mains: Mushroom Steak, Pork Crépinette (our one meat dish), and the gnocchi. All three may be the best version of each that I have eaten. The mushroom steak was perfectly tender. Lion's mane over a celeriac puree with mushroom jus. Topped with crispy onion rings for some crunch. I have a love-hate relationship with mushrooms and this dish is way over on the love side. Two out of my top three all time meat-eating experiences have involved a farm-to-table pork sausage, and Forage's Crépinette is one of them. The pork crépinette is divine. The loin part is tender and juicy, and the ground sausage is on another level all together. It was topped with an excellent peppercorn sauce as well as a parsley coulis and an apple purée. Three sauces is bold, especially when sausage brings so much flavor to the table but this whole dish was perfectly balanced. Everyone who tried it was blown away. Lastly we had the gnocchi. They were pillowy and soft, topped with brown butter crumb for some crunch and tossed in a delicious nettle cream. The Alpindon cheese also brought some nutty flavor to the dish. To round it all out we had the whiskey spiked seasonal vegetables as a side. This was a fine plate of roasted carrots and parsnips. Not that we needed more food, but they rounded out the meal. Finally, against some protest from very full and content diners, I ordered the spice cake to share for the table. This was possibly one of the best desserts I have ever had. The cake was perfectly moist, topped with pickled apples, buttermilk gel, candied orange zest (which blew all of our minds), and a pecan crumble for crunch. Surrounding the cake was an orange custard that we almost came to blows over. I cannot sing this dessert's praises enough. Our service was fantastic. We were here on a Saturday night and never once felt like we were rushed or off pace with the meal. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful and really made the whole experience great for each of us. Eat at Forage. I know I will return when I am back in Vancouver.

Yelp
We came upon this restaurant that's a block away from our hotel, wanting to try coastal BC cuisine that incorporated land animals and it didn't disappoint. We made a reservation the day before and only very early or very late dinner times were available, the restaurant is very popular so I recommend making a reservation. We opted to order food a la carte even though they have a lovely tasting menu. Here's what we ate: 1/2 dozen oysters - large, succulent, fresh. These came with fresh horseradish, mignonette, and house hot sauce. This was so good. Bison carpaccio (see photo) - really well seasoned, rich with the dollops of egg yolk and the popping whole mustard seeds gave a great contrast. The bread chips were too sharp and hard to eat as a garnish. Was the bison supposed to be put on top of the bread chips? Sablefish main- the fish is well prepared, the meat is so tender and the skin is lightly crisp. The accompaniments were shiitake rice and tempura maitake mushroom. This was really outstanding. Sauteed chanterelle mushrooms and king oyster mushrooms with mushroom crema - not sure how they got fresh chanterelle mushrooms as it's a fall mushroom. This was very substantial and rich. There was enough of it to be a main course if paired with a side of less rich vegetables like pomme puree. The vibe was dimly lit and lively, service was good and the food came out at a leisurely pace, so plan to spend a little time to slow down and enjoy the food.

Yelp
I got Uber delivery eats for this meal. The food was not hot nor was it close to warm. The service was okay. I would probably not recommend doing take out from here based on this experience, especially when ordering eggs benny. I feel that had the meal been warmer, the English muffin wouldn't have felt so tough to eat. The potatoes were good as well as the condiments. I didn't like that the meat was also hard to eat as it cooled down. Don't order delivery from this place.

Yelp
Stumbled upon forage when we were looking for a place to eat! We were there in time for brunch and the menu looked awesome. Their stick is that everything is sourced locally and is farm to table, which is something I always appreciate and look for. The food was good- I'm not sure if it was worth the price (mushroom on toast was $19) but I guess that's just what prices are these days! The homemade ketchup was really good but overall I found the food lacked some depth in flavour. That said I would likely go back- the bartender made a mean Caesar!

Yelp
Just had an incredible dinner here visiting from Seattle! Truly felt like a meal that would be at a 5 star tasting menu restaurant. They spaced out each dish so well that it was such a great experience and we never felt too full. Seating - We requested the back patio which was mostly empty when we were seated at 6:30pm on Wednesday. Seemed like a nice time to start as we left around 8:15pm. Comfortable seats and nice decor. Drinks - Ordered two of the gin cocktails (I preferred the champagne one, my mom preferred the more gin forward one), the GSM red wine (good), and the cider flight. I think the cider flight was my favorite as it was a healthy pour across each glass and nice to try. Food: Oysters - incredible! So delicious, and the presentation was excellent on the stones so it felt like we were eating them very fresh out of the sea. Pan Bread - this was pretty good, maybe if you're on the fence it's not needed but we all enjoyed it. Chowder - wow delicious, a must try. Shareable between 3 people for a few bites each. Not too heavy as there was a lot of seafood and mushroom in the chowder. Sablefish - really tasty, and such a reasonable price for the quantity. I liked the pickled veggies included. Duck - One of the stand outs, truly as good as it would be in Paris! Very shareable with 3 people, I loved the brioche and pâté included. Gnocchi - really tasty, good flavors, nice side dish. You could also do a veggie as a side instead (squash looked interesting) I have nothing bad to say - great service, setting, and delicious food. I would highly recommend to anyone!

Yelp
We ordered the Turkey Hash and the French Toast. I thought the Turkey Hash was really good! Crispy and savoury, and the side bread is perfectly buttered and toasted. The French toast was also really good and not super sweet. The service was not super attentive for not being that busy, but because it was just two of us dining, we didn't mind. It might have been different if we were a bigger group, so keep that in mind!

Yelp
We dined at the bar here, started with Happy Hour and moved onto the dinner menu. Everything was fantastic. We had dined in Whistler all week and this was by far the icing on the cake for our trip. We had oysters, bone marrow, gnocchi, salmon, bison carpaccio, ahi 'nduja, squash croquettes and kale caesar. Everything was plated beautifully and was really flavorful, there was not a single dish that I would have changed. I am in the industry myself and found this to be one of the more memorable dining experiences I've had in awhile. The staff was kind, knowledgeable and let my girlfriends and I catch up, enjoy wine and munch our way through the evening. Would highly recommend this spot.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Will definitely come back to this restaurant when I go back to Vancouver.

Yelp
We made a brunch reservation for Forage on a Sunday morning, and we were led to our table with no wait. The restaurant is cute and airy, and the service was prompt and helpful. We tried some sweet and savory options, including the French toast, the bison steak and eggs, and the baked eggs in iron. The French toast was probably the highlight for me- the duck yolk custard was deliciously unexpected in French toast, and the homemade "Nutella" was a perfect complement to the ginger tapioca pearls. The baked eggs were much heartier than we expected- the main ingredients are lentils and tomato. I would have liked to have more bread/croutons with it- we were charged $5 for extra. I would come back, probably to try the scones and pancakes.

Yelp
Great place for weekend brunch! We were calling around and either places do not take reso or their are full. I love that Forage does take reso for brunch. I had the Fraser Valley Duck Ragout served with french lentils, free-range eggs and toast. It totally hit the spot. My friends had the salmon benedicts and thought it was one of the best they have had. We absolutely love the farm to table concept. I have yet to come here for dinner and can't wait to try more dishes on their menu. Our server was marvelous and joyful. We had a great meal and experience!

Yelp
We reserved dinner at Forage because we wanted a place with outdoor seating (which is increasingly hard to find with the cooler fall temperatures). Forage's heated courtyard turned out to be great! We shared half a dozen BC oysters, the duck chowder, and the bison board. The sweet sunkisser oysters outshined the slight salty fanny bays. The duck chowder is apparently award winning and we found it just good. The presentation of the bison board was magnificent! The bison carpaccio, bison short rib, and roast potatoes were on point. The bison steak was cooked well but I guess bison is just a little tough. The bone marrow was fine. The bison meatballs and pulled bison burger seemed excessive and didn't add a whole lot because they weren't that great. The roast carrots were good but the summer beans were quite tough.

Yelp
Celebrating 10 years serving Vancouver Forage has been doing the "sustainable" thing longer than many, and although Chef Welbert Choi's menu isn't full of surprises the cookery is proper and flavors are bright while service walks a fine-line between formal and friendly.

Yelp
My husband and I had an excellent breakfast this morning at Forage. My husband had the mushroom omelette and I had the pork belly eggs benedict. Both were delicious!

Yelp
I was surprised by the food here in the best way. The duck liver and waffles moved between sweet and savory with each bite, and the fish dip was flavorful and filling. The plating was immaculate: the oyster I ordered was displayed like a treasure found on a beach. A few missing details left me wanting more, however. The bison steak was undersalted, as were the tomatoes in the salad, and the two additional sauces that were recommended for purchase added nothing to the steak, especially when there was already such a magnificent marrow butter on the plate. The chimichurri was a thick paste with little acidity. Still, I'm glad I ate here and tried these creative and locally sourced dishes. I'd certainly come back for the marrow butter alone.

Yelp
A wonderful dining experience. Had the best of BC tasting menu with wine pairings. Added the oysters to start which were delicious and fresh. Had a squash croquet for the appetizer with a curry sauce and it was so lovely. I had the bison steak as my main and it was also delicious and beautifully plated. I will definitely go back. The wine pairings were also wonderful, from some of my favourite BC wineries.

Yelp
For Dine Out Vancouver, i quickly jumped on the opportunity to try this much sought after restaurant. To sum it up in a few adjectives...yes, they are sustainable, farm-to-table, responsible, ocean-wise, and most of all outstanding! I arrived with high expectations, and left speechless. Each of the 4 course menu, with a side of our very own bc fanny bay oysters, was a indulgence in itself. Oysters were shucked as ordered. Very very fresh and complimented very well by ginger and a nice garlic vinegar dip. Makes you appreciate with much gusto, the true bounty of the ocean and our west coast heritage. The butter squash soup was so rich and creamy and served with a nice cheese crisp. The duck liver parfait with caramelized Onions and a sweet jam served with crostini toast was simply exquisite. The pork tenderloins were cooked to perfection. So juicy and moist, that its natural smoked au jus slowly crept out as you sliced them. The apple pomme puree and the braised red cabbage provide the perfect flavour profile balance for the palate. The next dish of smoked ginadara sable fish served with a creamy mushroom risotto, was hands down, the best dish of the night. The fish was simply amazing. Perfect execution, and the risotto done just right with a rich and creamy sauce. One of the best risottos i have ever had, even better than some fine dining italian restaurants. The desserts were just a bonus. The apple tarte tatin and pecan citrus cake, as well as the choco hazelnut bar with ginger spiked pear and earl grey ice cream, simply provided the perfect finish to a fantastic meal. Dishes were so choreographed to tantalize the palate and engage the taste buds to wake up and enjoy such artistic culinary creations. Simply outstanding chef choi! I am more than impressed! I even overheard some other patrons singing praising to the dishes while they were still there. Cheers! Happy eating!

Yelp
What a great place. After a little long day walking around the West End, we wanted some food. Good food. And found it here. Everyone loved what they ordered (a rarity) and we were passing all our plates around so no one would miss out on the salmon, pork, or bison. The apps were delicious (especially the cheesy bread with the spiced honey) but the desserts were just so-so. Great beer, wine, and cocktail selections. The service was great. But if you are traveling with a child, this may not be the place for you. No kiddo offerings so plan on sharing your plate. We did just that...and were rather surprised our little one devoured the edible flowers, fiddleheads, and bison. Who knew?

Yelp
Craving brunch foods so we ventured onto Robson street and got a spot here at Forage. I've been here before for the best clam chowder I've ever had but had to come back and try something new. The tables are divided with nice clear dividers to respect the current pandemic. I felt very safe here. Here's what we had - - salted duck yolk custard stuffed french toast, house-made "nutella", ginger pearls, sumer berries, condensed milk. -- this was interesting and very indulgent. Ate 1/3 and had to switch meals - halibut cakes, free range eggs, crispy potatoes, tarragon aioli - perfectly cooked eggs over delicious dense halibut cakes This place never disappoints! And they take reservations which I highly recommend. They're always busy!

Yelp
What a beautiful way to spend an evening. The restaurant is lovely, staff is excellent and the food is wildly delicious. The oysters were FAB accompanied by beer and wine flights to start. I had the halibut, which is brined for 24 hours and is mouthwatering and full of flavour. Hubby had the bison, which had a bit of heat to it and was extremely soft and delicious. Our server had just moved here from Toronto and was friendly and attentive. Finished the evening off with both desserts to share and they added a sparkler to hubby's for his birthday :) Couldn't get lovelier! All covid precautions were taken including plexi barriers, masks worn by staff, vaccine passport/ID checked upon entry.

Yelp
The food here is top notch! Had the Mushroom Benedict and WOW! Soooo good! Understandably, it's pricier here - but the food is high quality, service friendly and prompt, and ambience lovely. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Yummy and unique twist of flavors on breakfast! The service was good but not the most friendly. Looked like they rather be anywhere else than doing their job. Wasn't very welcoming.

Yelp
Seemed like a nice enough spot, but the 2 who ate salmon got food poisoning from the dish. Do not recommend.
